Both series by the same creator "ONE" and both adapted from his iconic web comics.
Unsurprisingly art style, character designs and sense of humour are almost identical.
Both shows have great OST's and animation.

Both of these stories are written by ONE, and have the same sense of humor. They started out as webcomics, although you'll notice that the style is different, as OPM got picked up by a bigger company, and got a new artist, although the story is still written by ONE.
There are several theories that the worlds are actually connected.
Mob and Saitama have very similar personalities, that are along the lines of emotionless, although they both have different reasons for such.
Both build up their allies, and occasionally, foe turns into friend.

One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 have a really similar feeling, that being said the both share the same creator. They both contain a ridiculously overpowered main character who has two emotions, "OK" and "K.O"! They even share a similar art-style. I really enjoyed them both~! ღ(❤♡❤ღ) Super Powers FTW!!!

As having the same author, the art style is the same.

Those two share a lot in common thanks to their main characters, who are totally overpowered, where Saitama is a physical monster whereas Mob is a psychic monter.

Made by the same web manga creator ONE. The style is simular (all be it mob psycho being more flashy). however the witty humour and amazing fight scenes are in both anime.

Similar fashion in terms of character styling, attitude, as well as both have overpowered main character. Similar comedy and joke. No wonder since it is from the same author. A bit different in term of environments art since Mob designed to be a bit more sketchy compared to OPM.

Made by the same author, both Mob Psycho 100 and One Punch Man share a lot of similarities with each other. The protagonists are very powerful but are lacking in other aspects. Both the shows follow their main characters, as they learn that being all-powerful doesn't solve everything. If you enjoy great fights and good character development in anime, you'll probably enjoy both the shows.

It's the same actor, so that means, same humorous style. The protagonists have almost a equally mindset of what they doing. Both have good animation, therefore it has good dose of action. Interesting support characters. That's it.
You'll not regret.

They are made by the same mangaka, One!
Most facial expression in Mob Psycho 100 are based out of Saitama's "Ok" face. Both anime contain a similar story starting from the main character  already having a monstrous strength. Action are undoubtedly awesome and characters have various personality even though their face are... Similar.

Personally a really amazing anime that are shadowed by the greatness of OPM. A must watch for those who want more of OPM after watching all the OVAs.

Both feature an unassuming main character, who is overpowered. The side characters can be very dramatic, which plays of the main characters very calm, bored demeanor. The art style is very similar, and so is the humor.

Well, the biggest similarity is the main character, both have a really similar design, face: a poker face. Both have one of the best animations ever produced. Both have a lot of action, WITH eye-pleasing visuals. The humor is insanely similar.

Saitama and Mob look and behave similarly. They both have a "sidekick" character who aren't as powerful (although, Genos can definitely beat up Reigen--and almost anybody-- anytime). They are both very powerful characters from the beginning, exaggeratedly so. Both animes have incredible action--and the animation styles for it--and are mostly funny.

I'm not caught up with Mob Psycho just yet, but I'm not the only one who has seen the similarities between these two.

Mob Psycho 100 and One Punch Man were written by the same man, a web comic artist called ONE. So both of these shows share a similar theme of humor and integrate it into bombastic, over the top action scenes. ONE's talent to emotionally connect the audience to his larger-than-life characters in a smooth, natural way is also used to its fullest in Mob Psycho 100. Each show is gorgeously animated and is backed by an appropriately great OST.

They are basically the same but with them being the opposite such as saitama has basically endless physical strength when on mob psyscho 100. Mob has pretty much no physical strength but has esper powers. (And not to mention its literally written by the same writer the wrote one punch man)

They have the same author, and the protagonists are pretty similar - average looking with unbelievably strong powers, who yet are somehow too dense to realize the great potential that they hold.

I didn't like both of them, but if you liked either one of them, you're sure to like the other.

Mob Psycho 100 is the obvious progression for anyone who was a fan of One Punch Man. Given they are both products of the writer One they carry many of the same tropes, namely the dead-pan, obscenely powerful protagonist. However, I believe that Mob Psycho 100 brings more emotion to the table than OPM. There are emotional moments in OPM, but Mob Psycho 100 really takes it home because where Saitama lacks ambition and is only a hero as a hobby, Mob has ambition, just ludicrously misplaced. In this way Mob seems to me to be a more relatable  and in-depth character than Saitama. The supporting cast of MP1 is also a big step up. I love Genos just as much as anyone else, but he can be a bit... robotic. MP1 basically takes the premise and style of OPM, and improves on it in a way that makes an even more engaging and interesting story.  If you liked One Punch Man, you will love Mob Psycho 100. read more

Aside from the fact that both stories were created by the same manga artist, ONE, there are lots of similarities that mean if you like one show, you'll probably like the other. Super powerful main character? Check. Ridiculous humor? Check. Well thought out side characters and meaningful relationships? Check and check. They're both wonderful. But, saying all that, they ARE completely separate stories that are amazing on their own, not just copies of the other.

I understand that this is an obvious one, however, most people overlook Mob psycho. these anime are similar that both MC are overpowered and create some of the best fight scenes ever, the animation is always on point, where they differ is that when one punch man second season aired it lowered in quality immensely whoever mobs second season improved not only in the story but in animation too, Mob also has far greater character development.

In Mob Psycho there are people called espers who are basically same as heroes in one punch man. Main character from Mob has almost same personality as Saitama and is one of (if not) the most powerfull espers. Very similar animation with amazing fight scenes and coreography.

If you enjoy anime with overpowering protagonists, then you will definitely love Mob Psycho 100 and One Punch Man. Both works are created by the same author, who excels at crafting intriguing plot developments and expressing the characters' superiority flawlessly. While Mob Psycho 100 shines in character development, particularly regarding the protagonist, One Punch Man leans more towards a comedic approach. Nevertheless, both series deliver an exhilarating experience for fans of overpowering protagonists.

Saitama is overpowered, Mob(MC in MP100) is overpowered. Both are unbeatable in the anime. They're strong as hell and they look the same, but Mob has a hair an Saitama's Bald.

The heroes are pretty cool and charismatic (although differents) and the enemies (like monsters) are very originals and sometimes creepy O_o . That's the main reasons why I recommend this two animes.

When I watched the first episode, I was immediately reminded of One Punch Man. In short, Mob Psycho gave me OPM vibes and it turned out to actually be kind of similar (not to mention they have the same author). It has the same amount of comedy and has OP protagonist that's going through a lot.

Overpowered, but very relatable main characters that are very fun to watch. The stories are great, coming from the same author, but were they really stand out is in their execution. Both are filled with sakuga and some of the best animation anime has to offer, with a varied staff that really seems to have put passion into each work.

One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 were both made by the same person, One, with very similar purposes and ideas. OPM and MP100 are both great but personally I think Mob Psycho is better than OPM. Defiantly should check Mob Psycho out if you like One Punch Man and have not seen Mob.

The heroes of both shows are insanely powerful and are subject to intense, exciting fight sequences. With overwhelming strength, they must find value in the mundane life and figure out how to grow as people. One Punch Man deals with superpowers akin to comic book heroes/villains while Mob Psycho 100 deals with unique psychic abilities.

Both Mob psycho 100 and One punch Man has been made by ONE. Both of this anime is totally similar. "ONE" (the creator) learned his mistakes from making OPM (one punch man) and refilled those hole into Mob psycho. So, we can tell Mob psycho is the refined version of One punch man. 
The MC of OPM and Mob psycho 100 is Over Powered in there world. They are like emotionless. Saitama is too much powerful and he has like infinite strength which made him not only in anime but also the strongest fictional character in history. There were some lackness in OPM. Saitama being emotionless, OP, less credit taking somehow pissed some of us guys.
But Mob psycho is totally good. Everyone knows about Mob's power. Mob is freaking powerful but not infinite level strength. He also has romantic feelings.

In overall, I prefer mob psycho though both of this anime is good. Try it out! read more

To everyone who loved the action packed and beautifully animated first series of One Punch Man, you should give Mob Psycho 100 a try. Both share the same creator and an overpowered main character, although Mob Psycho goes deeper on the emotional development of the characters in it. I give both a 9/10.

Both of them have similar protagonists with overwhelming strength. Both of them are quite funny and the protagonists are quite similar in their behavior and characteristics traits. Both are quite funny to watch and they are enjoyable. Would highly recommend to someone who liked Mob Psycho 100.

The worlds and personalities are different, but there are big similarities.

:: Both MC are overpowered and are displayed unstoppable when they get serious. Everyone underestimates their power since they are reluctant in using them.

:: The fight scenes are similar when they fight against a "strong" enemy. They get punched trough walls and even buildings but stand up emotionless like nothing extremes happened.

Both Animes are about an overpowered MC who basically can't lose against anyone. However, in Mob Psycho 100 the theme is approached differently. Where Shigeo Kageyama the main character doesn't consider himself special because of his powers. 'Just because you have a talent it doesn't mean you're likeable' is the message. Where the premise of the show is about Kageyama trying to live a normal life while trying to become a better person. Except he gets involved in situations where he is forced to use his powers.

Oh yeah, the eyes of Saitama and Kageyama are basically the same lol

Both are made by ONE, although OPM is ONE's story, and Mob Psycho is both art and story by ONE.

The fact that both the shows were created by one person, ONE makes them so much similar yet they're so unique. If you liked OPM, you'll definitely like MP 100 too. The fights, BGM, characters, plot everything's great about it.

Both are made by the same masterful creator, and if you love one you will certainly love the other. 
As it stands, Mob Psycho 100 is kind of like the younger, smarter brother of One Punch Man, with double the heart and a Season 2 that actually outdoes the first. 
This adaptation actually sticks to ONE's rough manga art this time round, which while it may be visually unappealing at first, you'll slowly fall in love it with every episode. 
Give it a chance and you won't be disappointed.

They are two animes by the same creators with extremely similar art and humor.

They have:

- An overpowered protagonist.

- Comedy based on the powerful protagonist and his connections with other characters.

- Impressive animation.

- Scenes that can really make you laugh.

Basically Mob Psycho 100 and One Punch Man are almost identical, if you liked one, you will like the other.

Saitama and Reigen are somewhat alike. They're both adults just tryna live life, but Saitama gets caught up in hero society bullshit meanwhile Reigen gets caught up in spirits and such.

If you like One Punch Man I recommend Mob Psycho 100, not just because the creator is the same person, but because they are both similar, character-wise, Saitama (OPM) is a over-powered badass that just doesn't give a shit, and Mob (MP100) is a over-powered kid that sometimes gives a shit. The show is creative with it's design and they are both hilarious in their own ways. If you're a Shounen/Comedy/Action type of person, this would be a show for you.

Both were created by ONE. Both are well-written and captivating OP MCs who I truly respect.

Similar faces with simple character designs for the main character themselves. Their internal struggles and their everyday lives are relatable in their own way (excluding their superpowers).

This also includes mentor-student relationships, but have different roles.

If you like this one, then you will like the another one.

Not only is the manga artist of these anime same, but so is their MC. If you liked OPM, you might as well appreciate Mob Psycho. Without giving any spoilers i'd say that Mob psycho is a Pg-13 anime with an overpowered kid named Shigeo, who lives a "normal" school life. This anime contains humor, action, and a so-called character development too.

Same author with the same overpowered MC trope, although this series is actually more of a heartwarming journey than OPM is. It has pretty much all of the good qualities about OPM (funny comedic moments, epic and fluid action scenes) with a much more in-depth protagonist and side cast and more stable animation consistency.

Made by the same creator it's a shounen, the main character's powers are underestimated or unknown to the world, much like Saitama whose strength and power is deeply underestimated. It's hilarious with similar humor as one punch man, and their are even hidden easter eggs hinting that One Punch Man or Saitama is connected or exists in Mob Psycho 100.

A super strong psychic buffed MC who uses psychic power to win.
The humor aspect is amazing and well written in both.
Each episode is packed with action, intensity and humor just like OPM S1.
Doesn't waste audience time with unnecessary details or unwanted flashbacks or slow dialogues/monologues.
Mob psycho is basically a Saitama with psychic strength (instead of physical) in a psychic world setting.

Both Stories are of people having to deal with their overwhelming power and how it affects their daily lives. I also feel both are about finding oneself, as Saitama is trying to find something that gives him that "spark", and Shigeo is trying to deal with his powers and live a normal life. Both are amazing anime and they also have wonderfully animated fight scenes and the humor is top notch! Please give both of these a watch!

These are both "hero" anime where much of the world building is the same. They both have super powered heroes and villains at odds with each other. Both shows have great art styles, character designs and humour. They both document the strongest hero, although in My Hero (unless you wanna shift focus to All Might, the strongest hero of his day) it's a origin story of how Midoriya became the number 1 hero.

If superheroes are your thing, you'll enjoy both of these anime~
Both categorize under Shonen, and have aspects of comedy.
Differing in places, such as the main of OPM being completely overpowered, the main of BNHA has to build himself up from the bottom, at the being of the series. (although later in OPM you find out that Saitama also had to build himself up)
Both deal with getting into the biggest leagues, with OPM it's the Hero's Association, and with BNHA it's the U.A. School.

The worlds are similar where heroes are common and something one trains to become, and paid if they do well and get public recognition. Both have a every hero vs every villain thing going on but also rivalry, jealousy, pettiness between heroes. The two shows follow a main character who have a power augmentation type ability and are trying to become a hero in their respective shows. In the two shows there is a hero ranking system and it functions side by side with the government. Boku no Hero Academia is geared more towards a school setting, while One Punch Man is more about the job of being a hero itself. Both are still great watches and are highly recommended.

The world in OPM and BHA are both populated with a ton of heroes. 
However in OPM, only a hand full of heroes have super powers while it is basically rare for a person to not have a Quirk (powers) in BHA.
The animation in both series are great. It is definitely more detailed in OPM while BHA takes a more 'comic book' like animation style. 
If you like watching an anime filled with people using superpowers to fight each other, both OPM and BHA are perfect for you. OPM takes a comedic/gag route while BHA has a more serious take on the 'superhero' genre (don't get me wrong. BHA is still pretty funny).

In both shows, superheroes and having supernatural abilities are normal, being a hero is an occupation and chaos is almost everywhere. Similarly, the main MCs of the series experienced unfair treatment and share the desire to help people. Both shows also have well-animated action scenes since they are produced by popular studios Madhouse and Bones respectively.

Both animes series are based on the ''hero'' subject.
Both are showing a comedy side , and an action or ''fighting'' side (but BNHA is a bit more serious).   
OPM has the Hero Association when BNHA has the ''Hero academia''.
A difference is that in OPM heroes are not as rare as in Boku no Hero Academia

After just one episode you will have the same feeling as in One Punch Man. Boku no Hero Academia also has dramatic music in the background, awesome fight scenes, and comedy stuff in a world with tons of heroes and monsters. Just like One Punch Man. The main character is the only difference i can find. The main character is the opposite of Saitama. Weak and smart.

There is a large emphasis on the concept of heroes and organizations dedicated to them. What makes this interesting is that while both series at the core share many similarities, Saitama and Midoriya will offer differing perspectives on this idea. While Saitama is looking for a challenge, Midoriya wants to become a great hero, so while both are filled with moments of action and comedy, blending the two together, both offer fresh takes on the same concept

Both shows feature "ordinary looking" main characters who, although they once were completely ordinary, have gained supernatural powers. However, I'd say Boku no Hero Academia is a "school life" anime as well as a superhero one, and is a little bit less violent than One Punch Man. For this reason, I think Boku no Hero Academia is a bit more suited for kids. Both are really funny though!

In a world full of superpowered heroes and villains, a normal guy becomes powerful through hard work and training.
Academia features a school for young heroes, while OPM features an association of adult heroes - similar settings that both allow for a lot of fun side characters and cool fights.
One Punch Man is a little more over-the-top and comedic in nature, but if you enjoy one I'm sure you will enjoy the other similarly.

Alright weirdly enough these two are pretty similar and if you`ve seen Boku no Hero Academia then One Punch Man will seem even better. They both deal with superheros and superpowers. Just with Boku no Hero Academia it is mostly serious throughout the whole series and with One Punch Man it is almost never serious. But that makes them quite fun to watch back to back, it`s like watching a really good movie then watching a really good and funny parody of that movie.

Both are shounen series and are really great. 

They have the same type of mc that's too op for enemies yet the only difference is that in OPM, the mc can fully control his powers to its extent while it is the opposite to the mc of Boku no Hero Academia.

Both also have great action scenes and have great development of characters. The story is also great especially for people who like shounen anime.

Boku no hero academia is similar to one punch man because they both have superheroes in them and the main character has to work really hard to become a super hero. 
It also shows similarity in its comedy but one punch man makes fun of super strong heroes much more. 
In these shows they both have to pass a exam to get a certain role or achievement but that's where the similarties end.

- They both portray societies in which super heroes are commonplace.
- In both there are heroes who care enough about their rank / popularity and others who only care about doing what is right
- The difference would be the protagonists, being that Midoriya started being the weakest and after receiving the One For All from All Might is evolving, and Saitama who after so much training became bald and defeats anyone with just one punch.
- Although the protagonists are different, on several occasions they will thrill you, surprise you.

Both Boku no Hero Academia and One Punch-Man are similar to each other as both storyline's focuses on superheroes, supervillains, and amazing shounen battle

If you have watched One Punch-Man Season 1, I highly recommend you to pick the first season of Boku no Hero Academia and enjoy as much as I did.

Two of my fav anime, both are very similar, and easy to get into

The two animes are based in a world where there are villains and heroes exist to defeat them and protect the society. In Boku no Hero Academia, Midoriya has the dream to become a hero and starting from scratch, he attends the hero academy to become a stronger and the best hero. Meanwhile, in One Punch Man, Saitama is already strong enough to be a hero so he does a hero exam, but he isn’t recognised as one of the strongest heroes. These series both have many characters with powers and also an association for regulation of the supers. They both have a main character that was weak before the training, then became the best. They both have similar ideas, but they are also very unique and will keep you hooked. One punch man might be darker than my hero.

Both series are about superheroes fighting against super villains. One Punch Man is a seinen and Boku no Hero is a shounen but they both have a surprisingly similar plot. On the other hand, one is a parody and the other is not.

There is a world with heroes and villains, in one punch man, the story is around one charachter that wants to be a hero, in boku no hero academia on the other hand, there are a few main characters that are all heroes, but the main protagonists all gain their power in an odd way. Opm is more seinen, and bnha is shounen, but if you enjoyed the hero aspect in one, you will probably enjoy the other.

Being set in a world whereby heroes and villains exists, one definitely would say if you like the conflict of 'Heroes vs Villains', you have a great chance of finding both series entertaining. A system of heroes are present in which heroes climb up the ranks. Out on the streets, they strive to fight villainy to protect society and justice. Not to mention, the actions in these series are brilliant, intense, and dynamic. Watch them heroically!

One Punch Man and Boku no Hero are both similar anime both of them focus on a character that defeats villain by punching them. Boku no hero revolves around a student name Midoriya Izuku who aims to be a hero and one punch man revolves around a story of a man named Saitama who grew too strong and could defeat anything in one punch like the name suggests. Both of them are classic shounen anime and are best for people who are starting off their anime career.

Heroes. My Hero Academia and One Punch Man features heroes operating in society.

MHA has learning heroes, Midoriya and his classmates, training to become professional heroes. OPM has Saitama who becomes a hero for fun, and his journey with other professional heroes.

Both are great action-filled anime, with OPM being a golden parody, and MHA being coming of age story.

Do you like superheroes? Well if so, keep reading.

There are many types of superheroes:
- Some who got their powers because of an accident
- Some become heroes of their own right
- Some become superheroes after they were originally a bad guy
- Some become superheroes after a tragic past

And so on, and so forth.

In my opinion, it's actually weird for me to recommend both of these in the same light. But see, here's the thing. Both of these, despite their differences, have one thing in common: Exploring what it REALLY MEANS to be a superhero.

First off..

One Punch Man, is a story about someone who became a hero.. for fun. See, every villain he ever faced would instantly be defeated (or die) because of his punch. One punch. Because of this, Saitama feels like life is already done for him, thus the emptiness starts to kick in. In the world he lives in, villains appear left and right, some weaker than others, some even stronger than others, but nevertheless, Saitama never got beaten... or will he? See, Saitama, is in many ways like Goku (from Dragonball). He clearly loves to fight, he gets a kick out of it. Which is another reason why he became a hero. One Punch Man explores what it feels like to live life all over again, and what life can be, and how it can be. Emptiness and boredom is lethal, even if you are having fun right now, sometimes you just can't help but feel.. empty again. Well, One Punch Man explores that. Many of the stuff I want to talk about are spoilers, so I'll just leave it at this, if that's you're cup of tea. Go ahead, watch it. But if you already did, then...

My Hero Academia. This one, unlike the all-powerful Saitama is an underdog. Do you know Robin from Batman? Well, even he would be sad for Deku. See, Deku was born without any sort of quirk, basically powers that manifest after a certain period of time. He's a fan of superheroes, and he also wants to be like them. He's basically YOU, if you're a superhero fan. Now.. let's face it. Shonen can feel samey, but in my honest opinion, My Hero Academia has something to offer. Something else to offer, mind you. See every Shonen character wants to be something, some more skillfull than others. But Midoriya or Deku is something you can like because HE'S REALLY TRYING. And it's engaging to see that. There's more to this anime than meets the eye, believe it or not. Most of it spoilers so I'll avoid it, but nevertheless..

What does it mean to be a hero? Well, I'll leave that question up to you! I highy recommend these two anime, especially if you've watched one of them already. One Punch Man and My Hero Academia both have one of the best fight scenes in the history of anime. In both animes, a lot of people have supernatural power so there's a similar power ranking system. The only 2 main differences are that there's high school in mha and Saitama (protagonist) is overpowered in opm.

Chances are if you enjoyed OPM, you liked its comedy. Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan cranks that up to 11 (don't worry about episode count, most sites make it 24 normal episodes).

- Both MC's are hilariously OP to the point of boredom
- They both feature the same type of comedy (but Saiki K. pulls it off better, OPM has better action)
- MC's have similar personalities (although Saiki K. is more cynical)
- Both have a colorful supporting cast full of wacky personalities

If you want more of One Punch Man's comedy, this is where you'll find it in bucketloads. Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan is THE funniest anime I've ever watched & I would definitely recommend it to fans of One Punch Man. read more

Both shows are comedies feature an OP main character for whom having powers is more of a disadvantage than a good thing. A big part of each show is the wacky group of supporting characters that appear over the show. However, Saiki K is more episodic and slice of life, while OPM has an overarching plot, but for me the jokes in Saiki K are much funnier.

The humor in both series is pretty similar and as someone that watched One Punch Man, it's pretty fun to watch. Without ignoring the similarities between both MCS of course! The only difference is that Saiki isn't bald- yet.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. is like a slice-of-life remix of One Punch Man. I think someone who enjoyed OPM would find a lot to love in Saiki K. (and vice-versa). They're different enough to not feel like you're watching the same story, but similar enough not to stray too far outside your comfort zone.

They both feature protagonists who have god-tier, extremely OP abilities and are bored with life because nothing is ever challenging or can surprise them anymore. Saiki is a psychic who can read people's minds with ease, making it hard for him to live a normal life while being bombarded by the (often very eccentric) thoughts of everyone around him. Saitama, meanwhile, is an amateur superhero who's so strong he can defeat even the most powerful monster with a single punch — and when you're that strong, do fights even mean anything anymore? Where do you go when you've reached the very top of the power ceiling?

Both series have a similar sense of humor. Lots of gag humor and running jokes —especially ones about the MC being waaaaay too strong for the situation. Saitama's actually fighting seriously??? It's because it's coupon day at his local grocery store and he wants to get there before they're sold out. Saiki is mitigating conflict??? He's annoyed because he can read minds and knows exactly what everyone wants, and what HE wants is just some peace and quiet for a change.

Both have pretty wide and diverse casts of side characters who get a lot of screen time, while the protagonist frequently plays a more back-seat role. This is really just a result of having an overpowered MC. Hard to write a protagonist-centric story when Saitama can simply punch his way through everything and Saiki can just teleport the problem away whenever he so chooses. Not to say that the protagonists are boring (they're not), but you can expect a lot more of the action, screen time, and character development to come from the side characters. read more

The first thing I thought when watching Overlord, it's very much like One Punch Man. Overlord and One Punch Man got similar style while having different setting. You can tell the anime would be similar as their openings are similar style music. The main characters Momonga/Ainz and Saitama are also extremely strong, but not OP lame, they're strong that you want to see them go in FOR THE KILL !!!!! Dependable heroes.

One Punch Man:
Saitama = OP mc, dominates everything while also tying in some conflict and storyline

Overlord:
Follows a similar "SAO" VR-reality entrapment theme, but looks at the situation in a MUCH MORE different way. MC was the #1 before AND after he was trapped in the game -- basically OP as hell. He seeks to thus dominate the whole world and spread his legend: literally "playing" god.
Similar to One Punch Man, it's super "fresh" and more original with its "screw character adversity growth" kinda theme and gives a totally powerhouse outlook.
However, it also does have its more serious and less jokingly moments: (not completely broken + OP as our beloved Saitama) with its times of actual strife, and character development is definitely more than adequate.

Both of these are fairly new animes whose main protagonist is super overpowered. They both have similar issues revolving around the hero recieving the respect and fame they deserve. Although the style of the two are different, the plot contains plenty of similarities.

If you're looking for Strong/OP/Badass male lead with high level of monster fatality then this fits the category.

Both male lead are so extremely strong that they can do anything they want on their enemies.
Both contains comedy but Overlord lacks a a bit of this

Both anime is searching for something: Overlord is searching for his allies and way out of the game while OPM is searching for someone who can match his overwhelming power.

Overlord and One punch man, The main character is like a god in both universes, While overlord's MC is more towards magical strong, One punch man instead move towards strength, If you like One punch man, then i guarantee that you'll like Overlord, the story unfolds almost unexpectedly. In this anime it shows you that Overlord and One punch man has an overpowered main character. Both anime has fine comedy. The difference is in One punch man the main character(hero) fights with his bare fist and blowing up villians with one punch. While in Overlord the protagonist is a wizard so he fights with magic and stuffs. I would really recommend you watching One punch man if you love Overlord.

Both are action series with a heavy comedy focus about an overpowered guy, who trained way too much to gain supreme physical strength, but has to hide this fact from the other warriors around him. One Punch Man obviously is about superheroes and has far better animation, while Mashle is about a magical school very heavily inspired by Harry Potter.

Although not exactly the same, the main characters of both stories share personality traits. Gintoki and Saitama are not overly concerned over their public image and are willing to blemish their reputations to accomplish a goal. They both also display nonchalance in extreme situations and are also the strongest fighters in their respective universes. Unlike Saitama though, Gintoki has displayed cowardice and laziness in certain situations and will avoid trouble if possible. The settings in each anime are also similar in that they contain futuristic and fantastic elements, such as the presence of aliens and the usage of advanced technologies. 
Each anime also approaches comedy from a similar angle. Both Gintama and One Punch Man employ satire but through different means. One Punch Man employs satire through character designs whereas Gintama uses referential dialogues and cameo appearances. read more

Gintoki and Saitama have a common ideal,  They fight for their own reasons and not to appease others. They are too lazy... Gintoki is lazy by birth whereas Saitama gets lazy as he lacks a serious opponent time after time. They are funny and when they get serious they'll bring devastation upon their enemies. While Gintoki (Shiroyasha)  is a lazy samurai living by his own rules, Saitama is just a guy that serves as a hero for a hobby.

But wow, this really is all about comedy, world building, and reasonable characters. The fact of the matter is we have two MC who are heroes down to their very souls but don't acknowledge it with their exterior mannerisms. The irony behind their characters and the world around them are similar and wonderfully uncanny than what we usually see.
Gintama is very much amidst the top of the anime industry, and OPM will soon join it.

While their storylines are rather different, they both offer a humourous take on the shounen genre. Both main characters are hilarious and interesting. There are unique and alien-like villians (and just... characters in general) in each and both feature shounen-like battles (opm more than gintama). If you liked the humour in one of them, you'll probably like the other!

By far later episodes of One Punch Man really gave me a strong Gintama vibe. Why?

* They both are about the misadventures of it's heroes (Gintama with a samurai, OPM with a tokusatsu hero)
* REALLY similar parodic humor, including high levels of randomness.
* In plot, both would start out without a particular story arc whatsoever until this kind of stuff would later come, while Gintama tries to be more episodic with it's own arcs.
* Both also have good fight scenes.

There are some dissimilarities, like OPM having less females and a highly overpowered MC, and Gintama touching a lot of references to other series and being more longer.

They will not dissapoint in the anime comedy zone and will get you hooked for more. And also, be sure to check out the OPM manga if you want more of it. read more

The protagonist in both shows is extremely strong. But they don't take the responsibility seriously, and end up talking about regular stuff in the middle of a fight that's supposed to be intense (like shop sales) which leads to comedy in both shows. 

If you liked the atmosphere in one show, you will most likely like the other show.

Both are using quite the same setup for the characters minus the traits and theme, it's just that Hataraku Maou-sama consist of more story and unique well brought humor to compensate the lesser fighting scenes, which i prefer to love more.

Both MCs lives like a bachelor-livings. Hataraku Maou Sama is a demon while in One Punch Man, he is a hero. What makes both series are similar is their comedy style that there is no episode won't make you laugh loudly all over your house.

Almost everyone has seen One Punch Man at this point, but I think if you enjoyed it you will also enjoy Hataraku Maou-sama! Both have action and comedy elements mixed into it, but many differences. One Punch Man has a lot more action than Hataraku Maou-sama! but both have a similar comedy style. A lot of laugh out loud moments in both.

A modernised and commercialised / 'business' approach to the concept of superheroes existing in our world. Heroes are ranked based on points awarded AND subtracted for their actions in the line of duty. Public relations - mainly in terms of popularity - is also a factor. Every self-respecting hero needs a fan club, after all!

In One Punch Man it is less important since it is more of a cartoonishly over the top series with hero rankings as window dressing, where as in Tiger & Bunny the entire plot is built around 'idol culture' televised heroics. But they are the only two series I have come across with the 'world-building' premise they share. read more

Both anime deal with superheroes. Both Tiger & Bunny and One Punch Man have great writing, good animation and awesome characters. Both titles have a nice blend of comedy and action. The difference between the two is that heroes in One Punch Man are registered and paid through donations while the superheroes in Tiger & Bunny have sponsors and advertisers that back them up and cover any inevitable damages. If you liked one, you'd like the other.

These two anime share the premise of putting superheroes into kind of a corporate model where they work not only to stop crime but for popularity rankings. 

I think that certain people will appreciate the relationships between the two leads in both series (which both happen to consist of a younger blond male seeking revenge for his parents' deaths and an older male who becomes a hero out of a personal sense of justice). In One Punch Man, the blond instantly idolizes the older one while in Tiger & Bunny, the main characters take more time to warm up to each other. However, each pair becomes inseparable and the nature of their relationships can be open to interpretation, if one is so inclined.

Tiger and Bunny is more comedic than One Punch Man, but the whole Hero system is kind of similar. Both shows are also meant for an older audience.

The fights in T&B are also super cool and it was the first show that popped into my mind when I saw the final fight in One punch Man.

One-Punch Man has the superhero theme with the same funny moments. That's, why I love One Punch Man, the bald-headed Saitama, who is honestly one of my favorite characters, as well as Genos. One Punch Man is essentially what you would get if you took Izayoi of Mondaiji-tachi and separated him from the rest of the no-names. You get an overpowered and bored protagonist destroying every obstacle in his path in order to relieve himself of his boredom while searching for a worthy opponent. Both series are entertaining and action-packed, although One Punch Man is more straightforward.

Same feels and comedy. Both have really good character developments for main male MC. Similar kind of lesson too. Both animes are from the same studio. Meaning they look awesome, just AWESOME.
The fights are easy to follow, look amazing and have a lot of detail.
Some characters looks really remind you of another in a positive way.

Both animes have a goal to aspire. Becoming a great Hunter or a great Hero.
They involve different species and a complex varied world.

Many of the characters from One Punch Man and the setting reminded me of Hunter x Hunter. If One Punch Man weren't a parody, had a lot more episodes, and if Saitama weren't OP, you would almost have a Hunter x Hunter twin-series.

Both anime are done by Madhouse and have the same overall feel to the series - unique characters, epic battles and power-ups, etc. The "Hero" system in OPM and the "Hunter" system in HxH are very similar as well. Both are incredibly good shounen series, and while OPM is more humorous, there's a high chance you'll enjoy one if you enjoyed the other.

Both shows have an organization that the main protagonist joins to fulfill some sort of goal. The Hero Association and the Hunter Association in the two shows remind me of the other. Both have a ranking system which dictates what level of jobs you are likely to be allowed to complete. They involve a rigorous test which has a small passing rate. Also both organizations send out their heroes/hunters to battle and take care of weird creatures that could pose a threat to humanity.  
Another comparison is that that main characters have a similar altruistic attitude towards helping people. All in all, these are both great shows that I would highly recommend, so if you liked one, you'll enjoy the other.  read more

Both have equally crazy fights and whacky characters. OPM opening also parodies HxH's main character, Gon (the punch where he holds his left hand over his right before punching).
Both have probably the most brilliant soundtracks ever also. You really need to experience these two. And of course, both are by Madhouse Studio.

Both are fun and interesting takes on less conventional superheroes, though in Hunter x Hunter they're called Hunters rather than superheroes. Both have a diverse and spectacular cast of minor characters. Hunter x Hunter is more emotional, but both have great comedy and are a joy to watch. Both have a lovable main character and a lovable side-kick.

Protagonist is OP to ridiculous level which brings absurd situations and proper steamrolling of opponents. Sure, one is super hero parody, other is powerfantasy in fantasy setting. Both are kinda cheeky and not taking themselves seriously... and come on, the last battle in Misfit of DK Academy made laught so hard!!! And its comparable to the last fight in OPM in its sheer ridiculousness.

OPM simultaneously mocks and pays homage to many shonen tropes, most of which can be traced back to DBZ as it can be argued dbz influenced the entire genre to such a degree that every series that came after was in some way influenced by it. If you enjoy these kinds of shows you're more likely to enjoy the comedy show OPM as you will get most of the jokes and references while it retains a lot of what appeals to people that like these types of shows. DB/DBZ/Super is no slouch when it comes to humour either.

- Pointing out the Obvious From the first episode we have a purple Namekian looking alien similar to piccolo despite the color, as well as our main hero Saitama facing against aliens similar to Goku who is also a main character in his series. 

- Both Saitama and Goku are physically powerful and both are very nonchalant in the way they act and fight. 

- Also both seem average looking in their outward physical appearance 
(saitama even more so)

- Both series contain Dynamic high octane action as well as some fun humour and Insane villains.

Both anime focus on a very strong protagonist, who protects humanity from monsters and other malevolent creatures. They have a lot of action and fights, but also a lot of lighthearted comedic moments. The character design is also somewhat similar, especially the first villain that Saitama faces, who looks like a blue Piccolo.

Both anime feature overpowered characters and are both humorous. All the characters are lovable, the fights are great, and the villains are just as good. The major difference is that OPM is a parody and shouldn't be taken seriously while DBZ is a more serious show. It's clear that OPM got inspiration from DBZ.

I think the main characters are extremly powerful but in Dragon Ball you watch waaaaay more episodes to see how Goku became strong, but in One Punch Man you already see Saitama strong, even if it shows you in the first episode how he became a superhero.

You must be wondering, why the fuck is this guy recommeding one punch man for this anime, simple:
Both animes are satire for overpowered (one punchman), overcool (sakamoto desu ga). Both animes has comedy as a main genre and explore it in similar ways. While Saitama is not believed to be that strong, other characters would provoke him until they are amazed by his strength, same happens with Sakamoto as he is provoked and end up being admired.

The main characters of both anime are way too overpowered in their own environment. Everyone around them struggles to keep up but completely fails due to their excellence. Both Saitama and Sakamoto think nothing of their "perfection", they can never seem to impress themselves no matter how amazing what they just did really was, likely they are used to being the best and simply don't care anymore. The two anime have very different settings and supporting characters but the similarities of the MC's definitely make them similar at least in that way.

Both are comedies that focus on ridiculously overpowered main characters. In One Punch Man, the protagonist is a hero who can defeat anyone with just one punch but gets bored because of it, while in Sakamoto Desu Ga?, the titular character is so perfect and stylish that everyone around him becomes jealous. Both shows are filled with relentless action and a lot of comedy moments. The fights are over the top and flashy as possible. Also fights defies any logic or physics laws. The common part of both show is a cast of colorful and meaningful characters.

The biggest difference, however, is the amount of fanservice. KLK is full of it, while OPM has it really low.

Both have a cast of colorful characters. The main characters do what they want, whenever they want. Both feature high octane and exciting action, with moves that basically cause explosions every time they make contact. Both have sidekicks, who they originally didnt want, but learned to love. Both animes are an harmony of huge epicness and fun, Kill la Kill also have a particular graphic style but you'll found it awesome later, Kill la Kill and One Punch man are two animes that i didn't expected to be that epic seriously Kill la Kill is probably the most epic anime i've ever seen. Both are absolutely hilarious, are about heroes vs villians, have a wide cast of interesting characters, a system of levels that heroes are divided into based on power (KLK: goku uniforms. One Punch Man and Kill la Kill are both satirical anime which lampoon common anime tropes to great comedic effect. In One Punch Man, the writers play off of the classic "normal guy becomes a superhero and saves the world" trope by creating a character that's just a hero as a hobby, and is so overwhelmingly powerful that even battles with super-villains become boring (at least to him). In Kill la Kill, we see a play on the "mysterious transfer student shakes up the high-school" trope by making the main character a strong and competent Female, and through the writers using their viewers' fanservice expectations as an actual plot device. The main character's clothes-based fighting abilities seem to be related to the amount of skin she shows, turning the fanservice, something that is normally only objectifying, into a source of strength. 

"But Tacit," you might say, "One Punch Man doesn't have any fanservice." Well that is... kind of true. While there isn't too much fanservice, that doesn't mean the authors aren't aware of their viewers' fanservice expectations. There is a reason Saitama keeps showing up in a shirt that says "Oppai" ("Boobies"), it's the animators giving a satirical nod to fanservice in the anime industry. 

Beyond their satirical nature, both anime are wonderfully animated, beautifully scored, populated by interesting characters, and supported by expertly choreographed fight-scenes. On the off-chance that you haven't seen these two already, or in case you were considering either anime and just need that final push to start watching them, then I would whole-heartedly recommend both of these shows. Even if you don't pick up on all the satire they are both hugely entertaining anime. I hope you enjoy them!  read more

The main character is a lazy guy who unexpectedly turns out to be a superhero tasked with protecting their city against weird monsters. Both are comedies, although One Punch Man is more action-focused than Tentai Senshi Sunred, which moreso feels like a pure slice of life.

Also, Tentai Senshi Sunred has very minimalistic animation whereas One Punch Man is a big-budget kind of thing. But they have the same kind of charm once you see past that.

Both are superhero parody anime with OP main character and comedic villains. So far One Punch Man's jokes are a little on the repetitive side while Sunred has a more diverse type of jokes. Personally I think Sunred is funnier but if you like one you'll like the other.

OP MC, with a bland and funny head (bald derp/helmet), bored and annoyed about his opponents, who are creepy and bragging, struggling in his mundane life, somewhat a loser (shut-in/pachinko).
Becomes more serious near the end.
Sometimes, animation quality is used as a gag (drop for Saitama/Tatsumaki moe-blobs/sakuga).

The aesthetic is more comics and manga in OPM, while tokusatsu in Sunred.
There is a twist with polite villains vs. rude hero in Sunred, as opposed to exaggerated clichéed characters in OPM.
The jokes are more diverse, less repetitive and predictable in Sunred.
The animation quality in OPM is way better, but Sunred's art-style serves it better.

Superhero parodies with overpowered protagonists.

TSS is a much better anime in total, with great characters and extremely funny comedy. 

If you liked OPM you should really trust me on this; do not allow yourself to be deterred from the shitty animation and watch TSS.

Silliness surrounding the daily lives of the hero and the companion villains. Sunred is one of the funniest shit I've seen, tho Saitama is a better hero than Red-San. Also OPM has more action and fights while Sunred is pure silliness lol.

Both main characters are overpowered. Each episode has the same gimmick with a setting, except OPM has a way better plot and less annoying cast. However give this one a shot. I pretty much laughed during nearly every episode because of my bad taste.

They are both comedic stories that follow an overpowered "first hero" that has defeated the greatest monsters of the world, leading to the development of a Hero Association to manage heroes that protect the world from evil. These heroes are categorized into letter rankings based on assessments of their power. Our protagonists start off at extremely low ranks despite having overpowered abilities. 

I'll just say it. Hero's Return (Yingxiong Zai Lin) is pretty much just a donghua (Chinese animation) rip-off of One Punch Man. If you look closely, Saitama even appears as an easter in one of the mob/crowd characters of Hero's Return.

if you like one of these anime you probably the type of person who likes power-leveling action. both of these animes are extremly similar, yet unique.

both animes contain OP heroes; while the OPM MC focuses on more hand-to-hand combat, yingxiong's MC uses well-designed OP weapons (with the help of his own strength and dexteritory).

throught both animes the MC gradually meets powerfull oppenents, from street thugs to literall Gods.

the concept of "heroes" are similarly present in both animes with mentionings of "hero associations" and "hero rankings". it's also good to note that both MC's don't seem to be that intrested in the "hero" thing and both joined for different reasons.

while i do think the fights in OPM are better in animation and action, the fight scenes in yingxiong are nothing to scoff at either. the fight scenes in both animes get to the point of destroying buildings and such.

my favourite part about these types of animes is when the MC's get severly underrated by their oppenent - due to the MC's weak-looking appearance in both these animes this is quite common and it's intresting to see how the oppenent reacts while they're face-down on the canvas. read more

Both have a Hero association that bases rank on power. Both MCs are overpowered but end up at the bottom of the rank due to written test. Hero Return is definitely more rushed without a whole lot of explanation or backstory to any of the characters.

These anime are such EXTREMELY funny shows.
Both the mc are ridiculously OP that it's hilarious.

In tatoeba the mc (Lloyd) is OP but thinks he's weak because he comes from a village where descendants of strong people (to be specific heroes) live. So when he gets to a normal town the gap is quite astonishing. But the funny part is that the mc remains unaware. Along with many other colourful and wacky characters this anime reminds me a lot of One Punch Man.

In One Punch Man the mc (Saitama) is also ridiculously OP, he wanted to become a hero so he trained so much that he became bald. The comedy that comes from Saitama being OP, is the other heroes you see in comparison to Saitama. Saitama for a number of reasons isn't even an actual hero and when he does become registered well, let's just say he isn't recognised for his ability. Because of this you'll see lots of intense battles with other heroes and later Saitama (who wasn't called to the scene as others don't know he's strong) ends up ending the battle with 'one punch.'

These are the two main similarities between the shows, but both also have fun, wacky characters and many hilarious moments. If you like one, you'll definitely like the other. read more

They both have two Hilarious main characters who are both OP and trying to find a more challenging opponent to match up with their skills.  Koro Sensei is trying to find a student who can kill buy the time his students graduate and Saitama after realizing he is too strong is getting bored of killing villains with One punch so in the end he is still trying to find a challenging opponent. 

Both Stories are VERY good and action packed. Also Saitama and Koro-Sensei are both teachers.
They're both great shows to watch!

While both shows are very different in terms of story, genres, and setting, the core plot remains the same. Both shows have a protagonist that is viewed upon by most people around them based solely on their social status that was given to them under a sort of ranking system like a review board; which was created with several inadequate fatal flaws that fail to categorize them properly. And yet, everyone blindly accepts that review board as if it was the only one truth, not unlike how many see the Holy Bible; while refusing to see past those previously mentioned flaws and only seeing what they choose to see, hearing only what they want to hear. In the end, while the protagonists have a handful of close people who understand them, the rest of the world do not give them the recognition they deserve, instead looking at them only with scorn, loathing, distrust rooted in the jealousy, and prejudice of their own narrow beliefs. The protagonists however are content with the way things are, being the better man to not let the misguided hate get to them that would utterly crush anyone else under the weight...while continuing their heroic acts with their superior skills, often without the anyone knowing their real name.  read more

If you love One Punch Man I'm sure a lot of the reason was the hype you felt every time you watched the intro, every time you heard the OST, and every time a fight scene came up. I don't blame you for feeling that hype, One Punch Man is a fantastic show. I consider it to be the second best anime to come out of 2015; second only to Shokugeki no Souma or Food Wars. If you have not watched this show, fix that. Shokugeki no Souma is half-way between being a parody of a Shounen, and actually being a Shounen. It's a Shounen about food. And trust me, this is the most hyped you will ever get about food, Gordon Ramnsay's everything doesn't even compare. The OST is and the animation in the fight(cooking) scenes is just as amazing as OPM's, with the animation in general being better(if we are including the slice of life parts). I believe the story to be even better than OPM's, as well as the overall hype of the show(I will admit, Shokugeki may have the unfair advantage as it's 24 episodes long). I can honestly tell you that Shokugeki no Souma has the potential to be the best anime you watch for a long time, since I have yet to see a better one. I admit I put Steins;Gate and Cowboy Bebop at about the same level, but I don't consider them to be better or worse per se. I believe Shokugeki no Souma to be one of the best anime to ever grace this world despite its laughable concept and joking nature, and I believe that if you were to watch it there is a good chance you will feel the exact same way.

Now, if you've watched Shokugeki no Souma and haven't seen One Punch Man, where've you been? Even though I don't consider it to be quite on Shokugeki's level, it's still a top tier anime. Easily in the top 10 of 2015 almost regardless of who you ask. I personally consider it to be the second best of 2015, and if you are looking for some more of that hyped feeling after finishing Shokugeki, this is the perfect anime for you. The OST is just as good Shokugeki's and the animation in the fight scenes is just as good as the animation in Shokugeki's cooking scenes. One Punch Man also does not take place in a high school, so you could have a small break from that. Fantastic anime, almost perfect parody of a shounen, and completely worth the re-re-watch.  read more

The similarity of these anime is not on their plot or characters; it is in the quality of their animation. If you enjoyed the fluidity and the awesomeness of either series on your screens then the other is a must watch. Both series will give you greatly animated action scenes that will glue your eyes on the show each episode.  Overall, One Punch Man and Kekkai Sensen are action-packed shows set in places filled with weirdness sprinkled with plenty of comedy.

Both share the same rare anime theme of superheros, but Zetman takes a darker and more serious perspective on it with a more concrete story. The action is explosive on both ends and the main characters for each don't really care for a lot of things. The anime also share in having enemies that are more on the strange side.

One Punch Man and Hataraku Saibou are story about certain groups that doing their job to save "the world".

Immune Cells = Heroes
Viruses, Bacterias, etc. = Monsters

Both have serious action scenes as well as comedy scenes. In One Punch Man, the story is mostly focused on Saitama, the overpowered hero. While in Hataraku Saibou, it's more like "Hero of the Day". However, the plot is different. Hataraku Saibou is an educational story about how cells work, while One Punch Man is a story about Heroes.

Great action, funny, awesome fight scenes.  Overpowerd characters, cool attacks etc. And if you're liking the animation in One piece, try One punch man. In my opinion  One punch man has the best animation i've ever seen.

 One punch man is a much shorter serie, it doesnt have as good as a story as one punch man. Not as great as character development as one piece does. BUT, one piece is one of a kind. No serie out there that I've seen comes near the adventureous and unique story of one piece. So dont try too hard finding a serie that does. Try One punch man instead and if you were looking for great comedy, great fight scenes and awesome animation. You're golden.

Both anime focus on a very strong protagonist, who usually defeats his enemies with ease. They have a lot of action and fights, but also a lot of lighthearted comedic moments. The character design is also somewhat similar, especially the first villain that Saitama faces, who looks like a blue Piccolo.

Both are parodies of shounen battle anime featuring arcs and characters poking fun of stereotypical cliches seen in such anime series. Sexy Commando is mostly pure comedy and gags however, where One Punch Man actually does have somewhat serious action and a stronger focus on fights. Both are hilarious and entertaining.

Also, both feature an inexplicably powerful and quirky protagonist that makes the rest of the characters seem laughably incompetent in comparison, even though you root for them anyway.

Boku no Hero Academia 5th Season addpermalink

As shown in the MHA series before, the "one for all" quirk becomes stronger every time it's passed down. Saitama also known as "the One punch man" probably has that nickname because of his ridiculously strong punches. 
So this gives me the sentiment of that One punch man is MHA in the future with Saitama having inherited the One for all quirk.
If my theory is right, you should at least relate to One punch man if you like MHA.
But you can also differentiate the two easily.

Whereas Hagure Yuusha has magical/ fantasy theme and focuses more on ecchi/harem/romance aspect.

They both have main characters who are kinda overpowered - saitama for OPM and killuas family for HxH. 
Both have characters who struggle more in fights than others.
Both protagonists are searching for something - a worthy adversary for saitama and his father for Gon.
The only main difference between them is that HxH is a bit darker than OPM.

I might change this later when I re-watch OPM, but believe it or not, both of these series are relatively similar comedically. In order to fully appreciate both of these animes, you have to understand satire and how both OPM and Kaguya roast a lot of cliches in their respective genres. This is especially highlighted by the fact that Furukawa Makoto plays the MCs for both of them LOL (Saitama in OPM and Kaichou Shirogane in Kaguya). Both series parody common troupes in their respective genres. OPM makes fun of superhero shows like My Hero Academia and Bishounen is quite literally an attack on Ouran Koukou Host Club with Monogatari-like directing; heck Bishounen makes fun of its sister series of Bakemonogatari. Specifically, One Punch Man jokes about Gary Stus and 'bringer of justice' type characters while Bishounen attacks the male and female stereotypes of Ouran Koukou Host Club with fanservice parody, 'handsome vs. beautiful' nonsense. Both are hilarious.

I saw people saying that series like Kamen Rider or Super Sentai are their own genre instead of part of the superhero genre, not sure why the only significative difference is that they do poses on one, but I digress, here's two superhero series that you may like and if you didn't notice those first word were to pointout the kind of superhero both are more inspired by, one more west-like and the other more like classic Kamen Rider. varied and colourful characters on their quest to help/protect the people and their cities against villains or monster and everything that that ensues. both anime has powerfull character, daily life's situations alterate to fighting (even if fights in dragon maid are few), a 16/17 years old character(Tohru/Genos) that goes stay with a 25 years old human main character(Kobayashi/Saitama) because gratitude, both Kobayashi and Saitama save the lives respectively of Tohru and Genos.

Both share a similar sense of humor - irreverent parody of old action shows - and are consistently funny. Both have OP main characters.

The main differences are their secondary genres: One Punch Man has cool fight scenes, while Love After World Domination has a cute romance and is ecchi-er. One Punch Man has prettier animation, but I find the animation quality of LAWD to work well with its humor.

Parody. One Punch Man and Pop Team Epic are both good parodies in the themes they play with.

OPM doing this with an overpowered hero in the hero theme. PPTP just has silly surreal comedy to flex with. Both are really good parodies to the general formula of what you would get in the genres they situate in.

Both series involve overpowered protagonists that you end up rooting for regardless, due to the shows' abilities to focus on minor characters and their growths alongside the MC. As well as this, both protagonists kinda involve some sort of progression that you get invested in; with Slime you end up rooting for Rimuru's village's growth; with One Punch Man you end up rooting for Saitama's recognition in the Hero Association. All fights are full of hype- especially the ones where you know that the protagonist wins, and acts as catharsis when you see the villain finally get beat up.

It's an almost sure fire recommendation that you will enjoy Mob if you liked OPM and vice versa. Similar humour, character designs, tones, styles; generally what you'd expect from a creator with a somewhat consistent style.

Same kind of epic, over the top badass stuff.

Both series have a start out pretty small but escalate to some huge fights. They're both pretty funny, but still have something serious about them. (You know, friendship, public opinion, some politics, saving mankind and stuff)

The animation and character style also felt similar to me.

If you're willing to hop over a genre to a school romantic comedy, these two shows share quite a lot of similarity, especially in the protagonists. Both embrace a somewhat antihero role in their respective universes, despite being overall very well-intentioned. 

Yahari Ore honestly has very little romance in it, and if you're interested in the underlying issues that One Punch tries to tackle, there are many of the same themes and a similar comedic style.

While on the surface, Saint Oniisan and OPM have little in common, their comedic pacing and nature as slice-of-life [bromance] comedies starring unusual super-human characters give a similar vibe. 

Saint Oniisan lacks action, fighting, or even much of a plot, but the premise of Jesus and Buddha rooming together in a Japanese apartment and dealing with the extraordinary comedic situations their powers put them in is very similar to the core dynamic of Saitama and Genos. 

If you are drawn into One Punch Man for its comedy and novelty factor, and are looking for a fun, silly film that is equally as original in its concept, Saint Oniisan is worth a watch or two. read more

While these two anime have different settings, both of them are not made to be taken seriously. The protagonist in both titles uses extraordinary powers to defeat powerful monsters. Both anime are hilarious to watch with cool characters and awesome action scenes. However Hell Teacher Nube has horror elements and is a way older than One Punch Man. If you don't mind watching older anime, if you like one then you may enjoy the other as well.

They are also both action-packed anime with lots of over the top action scenes. Differences between the two is that One Punch Man is not made to be taken seriously and is actually funny while Apocalypse Zero comes off unintentionally hilarious for trying be serious.  If you enjoy one, you may like the other as well.

OK. Let me be clear. Both anime plots are very different, you can say that one is parody of heroes, another ''parody'' of school/ life, same with characters.
Both anime have plenty of humor, protoganists are ''teachers'', jus one of them (Saitama) have one pupil, and they ( Saitama, Onizuka) are not very amm... educated...? But sometimes they give some wise man impression. Both getting involved in some ridiculous situations. Both have selfish gains: one is ''hero for the fun'' and wants to find strong opponent, other - became a teacher to create his own harem (lol), but both helps people in their environment. And last, but not least, it's hard to tell how many hilarious facial expressions both protoganists has, it's like they have at least one expression for a different situation.

When I watch OP Man, I thought of Saitama being the shonen version of Dante due to the various reasons: Both being OP and having countless victories, mysterious past, partnership with another powerful beings, They are isolated and will always be no matter what, and They are involved in various missions involving various people.

Both anime have an episodic story line and fast paced action. I find DMC to be starkly contrasting to OP Man due to the dark tone and goriness. OP Man beats DMC in terms of popularity, story, character development, and media Nuff Said

Believe it or not, both these animes have things in common. Kinnikuman and One Punch Man are both satires to the "hero" ideology. Both series start with their protagonists trying to protect the world from monster attacks but both Kinnikuman and Saitama are underlooked by society. While Kinnikuman starts as a weak superhero but further progresses through the story and Saitama is already overpowered from beginning to end, both series feature over the top action, comedy, manliness, muscles, violence and friendship.

The main characters in both shows are OP and have mysterious past and how they acquired their powers. Casshern Sins is the opposite of OP Man for the following Reasons:
-Underrated to OP Man's Overratedness
-Darker and Grittier tone to OP Man's Light and Goofy tone
-Casshern is more emotional as opposed to Saitama's lazy demeanor

Both shows are produced by Madhouse and if you enjoyed one or the other, watch it.

Both series are action heavy and feature intense, over the top fights against often surreal looking enemies. Contrary to One-Punch Man, Gantz is played serious and is a lot more violent however. People who enjoyed the fight scenes of One-Punch Man more than they did its humour might find more of what they're looking for in Gantz.

Both series have a protagonist that have a completely different attitude from the rest of the characters and don't really fit with the setting. Like Saitama, Vash the Stampede is an enigma who is extremely skilled compared the vast majority of fighters (not super OP like Saitama though), but is almost misunderstood by everyone. If you like Saitama, you will almost definitely like the way Vash fits in with his respective universe as well.

The humor technique is similar- tsukkomi- where one person does or say something dumb and another person calls him/her out on it. (For One Punch Man it's Saitama and Genos and for Cuticle Tantei Inaba it's (Mostly) Valentino and Kei)

Cuticle Tantei Inaba just focuses more on the plot whilst One Punch Man is more on making the gag.
