Hi, at first I was pretty reluctant against Anime until a friend of mine suggested that he and I should watch Jojo's Bizzare Adventure together. Had a blast through every episode and I've watched Anime since then.
Emotional investment/Enjoyment/Bias --> Quality in writing/directing/animation/music/art.
I can appreciate a show for lacking some of those aspects if it makes up with the others. In the end bias is unpredictable, even I have guilty pleasures and shows I hate on unreasonabely.
10/10 A subjective masterpiece I sometimes get chills just thinking about. It managed to envoke a dormant emotion I have never felt before or managed to change my life in some way or another. Meaning I don't have to feel anything for it to affect me, taking Monster as a prime example. While shows like Made In Abyss is the exact opposite.
9/10 Absolutely astounding in writing and or making me tremendously emotional. Lacking in that little extra something that captivates me on a more personal level. Simply a lack of bias on my end.
8/10 Remarkabely enjoyable and emotional. While likely being dfficult to point out any noticable flaws. Good enough for me to recommend to other people.
7/10 Something I'd consider being all around good, enjoyable and worth watching but not really bringing anything new to the table that blew me away.
6/10 Most of the time I did not enjoy these for being too fixated on specific flaws while quickly losing interest of the initial premise. Alternitavely it was just an okay comedy or a mundane slice of life.
5/10 This is about as low as I can rate something since I generally don't tend to pick shows I'm likely to detest. Any score lower than this is a rare pile of dogshit I was unfortunate enough to come across.
When it comes to special episodes and movie trilogies I don't rate special eps or the first two movies in trilogies. But rather I give my final rating of the trilogy as a whole in the last movie.
In my favorite list, Anime and Mangas placed on the left are ranked higher than those on the right. Characters are not ranked in order as I love them all for different reasons or in different ways. It's the equivalency to comparing people in real life which I consider degrading.
