OPM and JoJo are some of the most popular anime to date, and are both commonly used as "beginner-friendly anime" in order to introduce and familiarize people with the tropes and workings of your average japanimation. Even if you aren't new to anime, I consider that if you liked one you might want to check on the other as it shows two perspectives of Japanese humour (one is a story from the '80s while the other one is originally a webcomic) that one could help get familiarized with.
