Both gory anime, and both having a great female main character with a wus male one; mirai nikki being the better of the two
report Recommended by innich
Both of these Anime deal with notes that fortell things. On one side, you have a strong male lead who writes the death futures, on the other side, you have a weak male lead who sees his own future predicted and his possible death.

Both anime are survival death games. While Mirai Nikki lets players use personalized Future Diaries, Btooom! gives them specific types of bombs. Mirai Nikki has supernatural elements while Btoom stays on real side. Main characters are incredibly dumb but Btooom!'s MC at least doesn't care about ethics that much which makes him more interesting.

Indeed similar, while watching Mirai Nikki it brought me back the feeling i had when i used to watch Higashi no Eden. Both series are action and mystery genres, as well both share an important point of the main line in the plot: a teenager (Akira for Higashi and Yukiteru for Mirai) received a "special phone" and has to somewhat change the world with it. Akira has 10 billions of yen which he has to use to change Japan for good, as well Yukiteru has the diary of future which he needs to use in order to survive and become the new god of space and time. Both series will have you cheering on morally ambiguous or even psychopathic protagonists in violent confrontations. There's a bit of (usually dark) humour and exploring relationships between characters, including romantic subplots. Also, pink hair.

Both anime center around a set number of people who are forced to play a game of killing one another in order to achieve a goal.

Male lead and female lead meets in a game that basically costs your life if you lose. Female lead becomes obsessed with male lead who was a coward and slowly becomes stronger and wishes both to live. These similarities are seen in both anime.

Both anime narrate a deaths sequel, one is more like a game that the one who lives will be the new God, and the other is a school tragedy, that the peaple will stop dieying just when they found out the 'ghost roomate'. Blood and drama, characters with tragic stories, despair, two very popular anime from the same year.

Both anime have completely psychotic characters and an insane story line.
report Recommended by Lolicon
Both series mainly revolve around a girl with pink hair who has a sick obsession with a single individual. Happy Sugar Life is less fantasy focused, but it maintains a similar atmosphere of unsettling delusions and shows the true horror of stalking. You may find yourself sympathizing with morally reprehensible characters, or enjoy watching the train-wreck unfold as the possessive yandere characters struggle for power and control.

Main character have mobile phone that can change fate and future. Also include conspiracies and somewhat twisted.

Both animes are about receiving or meeting a third party to supply you with powers to fight in a survival game, and aim to defeat the other parties to win the game. Both have groups that build bonds over the time they spend together.

If you take a serious look at both of them, you might discover that they are really alike. I first watched Mirai Nikki (when it was released) and two days ago I have also watched Guilty Crown; my first impression was: this is very similar to Mirai Nikki. They are both Thriller /Action /Superpower animes with the necessary drop of romance, drama and fine graphics. They are similar in graphics, in action and interest. Also, the characters are at some point alike (if we are talking about the main characters : Shuu is similar to Yuki quite a lot, even though Inori is not completely alike  read more

One victor - for the ultimate price, both series involves a scenario where the main character becomes a target for assassination. Luckily, they do manage to make friends with an unlikely alliance who has their own skills in protecting them. And although different in man ways, they bond throughout the series and learn about each others' dark pasts. Both series features a cast of diverse characters each with their own set of skills and personalities. Expect grim scenes and horrific sequences when it comes to attempts to kill off their targets.

Both basically have the same idea of survival fighting people with similar origin of special powers. The protagonist gets a psycho female sidekick and they venture out into the world to achieve whatever goals they have. However, the female sidekick in Big Order wants revenge on the male protagonist whereas the female protagonist in Mirai Nikki basically loves the male protagonist to death. Literally to death.

Something that people enjoy is turned into a living nightmare and it involves technology. A character who is unable to make friends is suddenly able to make friends only to lose them due to the "game". There is also a "god" in the game too.

A selective group of people are given supernatural powers to fight each other to the death in the hopes of becoming the next God. Overall, if you enjoy battle royale type stories you may enjoy both of these series.

Mobile phones get used as tools of survival game warfare, whilst characters act stupid and die/suicide for 'so bad, it's kinda good?' entertainment purposes. This is why I don't have a phone. Ousama Game has Light Yagami's voice; Mirai Nikki has cute waifu yandere Yuno. Make your choice wisely. Mirai Nikki also has a budget.

Both have a school setting and a romance where one of the girls is basically THE definition of "yandere" and the boy doesn't speak his mind (or, quite frankly, is an idiot). There's gore in both shows (though in Mirai Nikki a lot more). School days rather focuses on the romance and the drama, while Mirai Nikki has a plot that revolves around a survival game, though the romance is still important for the way the character act. Survival game (of sort). A lot of references to Mirai Nikki (OP, ED, some plot elements). Clever and somewhat sociopathic main female heroine (Yuno is definitely many notches higher though). Initially weak willed MC, growing stronger as the plot proceeds. Mature themes in both animes. Teenage issues.
report Recommended by atlantean233
Creepy mystery-thriller plots. Feature a stalker girl. And lots of blood and whacks. Shiki is a lot more mood-driven, and Mirai Nikki feels more mainstream.

Crazy psychological horror about young boys (Yukiteru/Shinji) that are forced to fight despite the fact that they desperately don't want to.

"I am here to protect you because we are destined to be together." And of course the main character is thinking along the lines, "What is up with this crazy chick?". Well, the hero and heroine go through a bunch of mysteries of sorts in order to survive, whether it be from a "game" or it be killers on the street.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
The atmosphere is very similar in both, dark, eerie, yet also some quirkiness at times... and the presence of much blood and gore, very graphic and psychotic... The male protagonist in both also seem similar in that they are just normal students until they are entangled in a "game" of life and death, contemplating murder in order to survive. They both also met very crazed girls who seem to hold no remorse for killing.

I found that the main characters of both (Zero Two and Hiro, Yuno and Yuuki) have very similar traits and characteristics that bring together their independent series'. Zero Two and Yuno have very passionate and goal-directed behaviour, whereas Hiro and Yuuki are both leaders in their own right (Yuuki falls into the category a lot later than Hiro though). And yes, each pair have the same hair colour.

There is this common link between the two series which is hard to get into without getting into spoilers for 11eyes, yet in some ways the common link is one that is going to vary from person to person, as one person’s favorite character isn’t going to be the favorite character of another person. What I can say though regarding this common link is that I personally have felt a deep connection with the characters of both series, but found myself rooting for said characters. Yet, in this regard, both series are dark, so one should not go in expecting a happy ending.

To Kill or Be Killed Both shows employ the concept of "Battle Royal", where contestants will fight or kill each other until only one survivor remains. The only difference is Mirai Nikki has a vast location while Danganronpa is only limited to a specific place.

A group of individuals are selected to fight in a death match. Both settings are urban and the contestants are a variety of unique characters. Their their battles include well animated fight scenes and calculative and strategic monologues. Mirai Nikki has plot twists and interesting character backgrounds which involve complex romances.

Both really Plot-twisty and exciting to watch. The main girl characters (AIKA, YUNO) have interest personalities and story twist is main revolved around them. The main characters really does not have any special powers whatsoever. Similar Length. Both has questionable moments about what the main conflict is as well as who or what is the antagonist. Both Mysterious. Both really underrated and overlooked animes.

They both share a similar characteristic of playing with your emotions, although Mirai Nikki has a much much stronger element of fear added in the mix. Both have strong plots and dark character backstories that become motives for their struggles. One could also argue that Mirai Nikki is a perversion of Angel Beats! since the participants are forced to fight each other to alleviate their live's sorrows instead of working together to overcome them.

Mirai Nikki-12 candidates fight to become God. The Law of Ueki-fighting to make your "God Candidate" God. both having to do with participating in a game/tournament to decide who will become God......Mirai Nikki has a much more serious atmosphere and the characters have more phsycological problems The Law of Ueki is Shounen

Both are involved with tournament-survival game, where book owners (Gash Bell)/diary's owners (Mirai Nikki) will have to destroy each other book/diary. The winner, which is the last one standing will became king (Gash Bell)/god (Mirai Nikki). Mirai Nikki is darker than Gash Bell in many prospects including destroying diary will lead to death of the owner, thus owners mostly wouldn't care less to kill each other directly. While in Gash Bell, the demon of the book will return to demon world after destroying the book.

The art styles of both Anime contain Gothic elements. The story lines are dark. The main characters are nobodies. Technology is in some manner involved. A game is involved that could leave one completely out of the game for good. Things slowly get revealed over time. They also have interesting casts of characters.

The psychological tension is in both animes. Death parade i guess more. If you like psychological and plot twist animes i have to recommend Death Parade because it's really interesting , not quite similar to mirai nikki but I feel like the mood and theme is same. In Death parade people are put into very tense situations and from that you can see mental breakdowns and more interesting ''events''. Have fun watching it, Don't marathon it - Its more interesting 1-2 episodes a day!

Similar story : Survival Death Games Set In Parallel World In Mirai Nikki, players in the survival game use "Future Diary" that can somewhat accurately predict the future to be the last player alive. The winner can make any wish to be granted. In Alice in Borderlands, players pure using their strength & mind to survive in games. The winner get "Passport" for how long they alive.

Both animes are about a boy who can't fight on his own and a girl who just goes crazy for him, and defends him all the time. Haiyore Nyaruko-san is less brutal and is more of a comedy genre anime, but I still find some similiarities between these 2 animes.

Just like Mirai Nikki, Kiseijuu has a lot of gore and bloody scenes, the plot is original and the graphic is awesome just like Mirai Nikki. Both animes have unexpected turns of situation. Also, you may like that little drib of romance inside it that makes the character grow little by little.

Both animes are death games, where the last surviving player will win something on a mass scale. To survive the death games, the characters participating are given something to help them succeed. In UBW, the characters have servants, who were once heroic spirits, fend for them. However in Mirai Nikki, the characters have personalised future diaries .

This recommendation may be a stretch, but these two series both gave me weird feelings while watching them. Mysterious Girlfriend X is more light-hearted and lovey-dovey while Mirai Nikki has more of a serious tone to the whole anime. Both series have their main characters obsessed over one another (Yuno and Yukki in Mirai Nikki, Tsubaki and Urabe in MGX). If you liked MGX, I think you should be able to like Mirai Nikki, and vice versa.

Let's see here: -Both shows have a lot to deal with supernatural themes -Both can get rather extreme at times (although this happens more in Mnemosyne than in Mirai Nikki) -Both have a female lead who is associated with the show (Yuno Gasai in Mirai Nikki, Rin Asogi in Mnemosyne) -Both happen to have at least one female character who has "god" powers in a way (Mnemosyne has Rin Asogi and Mimi; I can't say who the characters are in Mirai Nikki without spoiling them, but if you've seen Mirai Nikki, you'll know who I'm referring to) -Both are really scary and violent

Tbvh this Mirai Nikki isn't even similar to Corpse Party at all. But it has that psychotic, crazy, mental feeling in it that makes you want to say "This is so messed up but wtf that was cool as hell." Especially at the end of Corpse Party I was like //woah. Plus! If you like gore and blood and just crazy psycho characters running around killing people with wide open eyes and creepy smiles then Mirai Nikki is for you. And to throw in a bonus you will meet the queen of yandere's: Gasai Yuno. You'll have a blast with her :))

The main similarity shared between the two anime is the theme of "Love." In both anime, the lead female character loves the leading male protagonist so much. With this, it makes them seem as a stalker/yandere... which is true (It's obviously true in Mirai Nikki as she killed people for the leading male while the leading female in Netoge No Yome acts like one, but never actually kills a person). "At first, the leading male doesn't care much for her, in fact he views her more of a creep. But over time, he tends to like her more and more." This is true for both anime. So  read more

Both of these Anime involve a dark storyline from the start. While Mirai Nikki doesn't have actual puzzles, the characters have to figure out a kind of mental logic puzzle when it comes to the other players in the death game. These to animes are similar because it's about God/Deus (latin). There is this game going on where the main characters go all out, meaning betting their own lives on the games they are playing. Of course, we have a God who watches them and observes the process, but does not interfere with them. I want to end this recommendation with the fact that there are a lot of plot twists and surprising moments which you cannot always predict.

Darker Than Black and Mirai Nikki have a similar type of feel when you're watching them. They both have unique plots as well. In both Darker Than Black and Mirai Nikki, there are people trying to kill people while others try to protect them.

Similar character designs and theme. The main protagonist looks like Amano Yukiteru. While the antagonist looks like Akise Aru.

Though Mirai Nikki is much more easier to follow in terms of plot, both have characters who aren't who you think they are, communication through technology, and godly figures.

Aku no Hana starts out very imaginative like Deus Ex Machima where the flower grows from the person's mind. I love Aku no Hana's look much more though as it redeems itself for looking like true Japanese and the landscape of it is also realistic too. Mirai Nikki also has that eerie setting and plot along with Aku no Hana.

What makes these two shows similar are the two main characters: Yuno in Mirai Nikki and Amira in Rage Of Bahamut. These two are what makes each of these respective shows interesting, because of their amazing character, and also, their cute looks. But remember that no two shows are exactly the same, they are both good in their own ways. I hope you found this recommendation helpful, thank you.

Both anime involves a survival game in which the participants have to use special cellphones to fight.

There is an abnormal and obsessive love for someone, in Mirai Nikki Yuno for Yukki and in Sankarea the father of Rea for her, you will think that kind of love is not normal in both anime, if you want to see a crazy and obsessive love I recommend both. Mirai Nikki is higher in that and darker and Sankarea has dark setting too but with more comedy and romance.

-School Life -Romance that has an obsessed heroine(s)/yandere

If you thought the "Psychological" genre of Mirai Nikki was too much for you, Aoi Bungaku will blow you away with its in-your-face cruelty/madness. Though the entire series is good, the first arc is highly recommended is you are looking for Mirai Nikki-eque trauma.

Both series attempt to make you sympathize with very obviously evil villains.

Two great examples to show how far can human madness go, after being pressured with deep memories that can´t be erased from our personalities.

People with special abilities fighting against each other to obtain the prize. In Mirai Nikki, each competitor uses cellphones with different abilities, In Arcana Famiglia, each competitor has a contract with an Arcana which enables them to use special power according to their Arcana. In Mirai Nikki, the winner will become the new Deus ex Machina. In Arcana Famiglia, the winner will become the next head of Arcana family and marries the current leader's daughter, Felicita.

Although for most things, the two anime aren't that alike, but they both feature a girl who protects the boy and both have awesome music. ^_^

Both dabble in time and the future. They also have an air of parallel dimensions/universe.

Both have a strong female lead who has to protect the male lead because in both series they are trying to be killed. Both have some Horror and Action, and both can be very dark and bloody.

Both have a girl who is obsessed with a boy to the point where they consider their own life incomplete without him. They are constantly rude to those who they consider competition and will make it completely obvious to everyone else. There's a lot of love drama and denial from the boy despite their past history together. Both have escapes from the most life-threatening situations and jealousy. Love it!

Both have a very likeable and clingy female who is obsessed with a very annoying and wimpy male lead.

Both shows have a primary focus on the main characters romantic relationship while also having plenty of action. Mirai Nikki is much darker and sadder though. Watch it if you enjoy action+romance.

Two sci-fi thrillers that are not afraid to be totally absurd. Both have intense action sequences that border on insane adding more and more elements that make them unbelievable(ly entertaining). Overall crazy vibe meets super edgy characters makes for a weird but exciting experience. Each dabbles in detective mysteries but become more focused on fantasy elements as the story unfolds towards the end. *Bonus* Both shows have toilet scenes.

-Both are about killing to survive, Gunslinger Stratos is more futurist (about guns and all the stuff) -Both have a romantic history between the main characters. Is more obvious in Mirai Nikki - Both have interesting supporting characters that makes the anime better - Both have a great history

In both titles, we have a female lead who is energetic, proactive and a strong and deadly fighter. She protects the guy she loves, instead of being protected. If you want to see a badass heroine fighting till the end for her ideal future, both titles may be for you.

Aldonah.Zero (the first and the second seasons) is the "INAHO!" to Mirai Nikki's "YUUKI!". Both anime revolve too much around one particular main (and not in a good way). Both MC's names are said waaaaayyyy too often, wherein the other characters just seems lost without them. Also, ACTION.

-Both based around teenagers fighting in an action/supernatural setting. -Both have yandere female leads who are completely devoted to their partners.

What makes the two series alike is that only a certain number of people posses something the majority does not have. In Mirrai Nikki it's the phones that the character in the show posses and the ability to know the outcome of future events. For Ajin, some characters posses immortality. While Mirrai Nikki's "God" literally gives a handful of people a survival game, for Ajin it is just survival and no "wish" would be granted to any of the characters ( although one or two of the characters in the anime make it seem like it is a game ).Furthermore both anime series makes you  read more

Similarities: - Good action scenes with blood and gore. - Both Alucard and Yuno show no guilt of killing. - The MCs must eliminate their enemies. - Supernatural aspects. Differences: - Yukiteru relies on the heroine(Yuno), but Alucard hacks down his enemies with minimum help. - In Mirai Nikki the characters play a "game" of 12 players, but Hellsing features a "war" of three factions. - Mirai Nikki was censored, but Hellsing wasn't. - (In my opinion) The animation of Hellsing is way better than Mirai Nikki.

Both of these anime have a dark twisted sense to it. At times you can actually feel a sense of urgency in both anime because both revolve around life or death situations. Katanagatari is about a guy who has to adjust to life around people; he discovers what it means to love. Being badass at the same time, he is trying to exterminate anyone who opposes his quest to retrive the last 12 legendary swords forged by the greatest sword-smith who ever lived. Both leave you wondering why something happened in most episodes and have unexpected series of events. The female character is a mystery in both of them. Mirai Nikki doesn't look as good as Gode Geass but it is really interesting

Both of them are about a group of people that play game made by a god or something like that.

Both feature a battle royale setting, where several characters fight eachother to death for one goal. These characters are aided by a third party in both cases as well. This makes for quite a similiar atmosphere in both shows.

Both aren't for the light-hearted and fairly deep plots. Very sci-fi centered themes. Psycho-Pass has a future and adult based setting whereas Mirai Nikki is more of a present, fictional and (slight) high school setting. Psycho-Pass is, however, superior.

Both revolve around the idea of diaries and the future; in Orange the MC keeps a diary which she uses to know the mistakes she made to tell her past self. In Mirai Nikki, the MC(s) use diaries that tell them of the future. Both revolve around this but present the idea in different ways; I'd recommend watching both!
