FFVII on the other hand has one of the best first halfs in the series but the 2nd half crumbles under its own weight, they ruin clouds character and make him nothing more than some dude insecure about his creation(look at luke fon fabre from tales of the abyss to see how to do this plotline RIGHT)
The villain goes from being a personal antagonist and diabolical monster toa guy that sits in a cave while every other minor villain does all the work, the cast is good aside from cloud but witht he exception of tifa and cid due to the way the games party system is designed every single character is just there, they have no effect on the plot in any way shape or form.
7 i can see why people like it but FF8 your outright wrong for liking, no matter what way you look at it that game is on cod levels of writing prowess if not a little worse. The only reason people love that game is cause of blind nostalgia
