Both series will have you cheering on morally ambiguous or even psychopathic protagonists in violent confrontations. There's a bit of (usually dark) humour and exploring relationships between characters, including romantic subplots. Also, pink hair.
Lucy & Yuno (similarities: pink hair, psycho, past, family circumstances, love for main character, jealousy etc.)
Kohta & Yukiteru (same innocent character, relationship with main girl, lost memories, suffering)
similarities in general: a lot of blood, murders, unpredictable, psychological etc.

Both are bloody and have a lot of gore in them. They're also violent and psychological. Both of them have more depth in the story as you watched them. Both are amazingly good with awesome heroines.

Both Elfen lied and Mirrai nikki pull you along into the depths of the anti-heroes spiralling insanity as you watch their encounters with other estranged or morally imbalanced characters. Elfen Lied has a large focus on uncensored gore whilst Mirai Nikki does not, But it is only to add to the story of each anime to add emphasis on the characters moral actions in each story.
Elfen lied leaves you at a cliff hanger at twelve episodes and could use another season to finish it off (They should have waited for the manga to finish first). Mirrai Nikki is a twenty six episode

Both share pink haired female MCs who have questionable sanity. Both have lots of gore and romance.
Personally, I find Gasai Yuno and Lucy / Nyuu to pretty similar. They both have their innocent and fragile sides, but then they also have their mass-murder psychotic sides. Both animes are good for showing the development of the characters and their 'bi-polar' personalities.
Drip...drip...drip.. Ahhh, the sound of blood pattering on the floor from your hands. Your heart hammering in your chest just to see what will happen next as you start to cackle. Your eyes widen as you realize the one you love doesn't love you back. You'll KILL just to protect them! Mirai Nikki won't leave you crying on your hands and knees, but you surely won't be disappointed. You can call these animes similar, with two completely different plots. You'll be tearing at your skin to watch the next episode! Just don't forget to... breathe...

these series both have a very macabre tone and setting. Rampant violence is frequent, and disturbing sexual content is present at times. If you enjoyed Mirai Nikki's exploration into human nature, and especially the mystery of each character's pasts, Elfen Lied is undoubtably up your alley.

I think that two main characters are alike. They both love one person and are ready to do everything to protect their loved one (even kill dozens of people), and they are cruel to the outside world. Also, the girls' appearances are similar.

If you want a mature show with serious gore and shocking events these shows are for you. They both have frustrating protagonists but a great supporting cast. These shows are extremely brutal, viewer discretion is advised.
They both are revolved around a psychotic female role, followed by a male role who is trying to help them.
Elfen Lied and Mirai Nikki let you think about life. Because of the things the characters went trough, or the ending (especially the ending of Mirai Nikki) They're both bloody and you have to understand EVERY single thing that happens before you can truly understand the series. Also they have both kind of 'dramatical' endings cause you don't know what happened after.
I recommend Elfen Lied and Mirai Nikki to people who love bloody animes with a good storyline in it.

It tells about twelve peoples fighting to be the god of a world,the main girl is a crazy murder of ~16 years,I really like this anime because...discover yourselves this anime.

Both have a very different couple: an assassin woman and bit stupid man. Many fights, blood, and well developed stories, with an unknown past coming to light in a surprising way

If you liked Mirai Nikki you will probably like Elfen Lied. Both have great story lines get at times are gory. They are both two of my personal favourite anime's although not appropriate for younger ages.

Both have bloodshed (a lot), Mirai Nikki has it's share of brief nudity. Both have a character that would be listed as a Yandere..Most importantly Mirai Nikki and Elfen Lied include a character that is a crazy murderer.
Batshit insane female characters with pink hair which you love and are the only reasons you watch the show with plenty of blood and gore well watch mirai nikki do it in the words of shia labeouf

These shows both take part in the almost "infamous" yandere genre where a beautiful pink haired chick obsessively falls for our poor, pathetic, naive main character. Both girls were horrifically abused as children and are violent killers, and have personality disorders (must I say more?), etc.
If you get off with murder, or rape, decapitation, gore, cruelty, abuse, and other twisted unspeakable, you'll definitely love both then.

Both of the shows are yandere concept
and both of them have pretty amazing plot
both of them are totally messing with your
sexuallity and you cant understand a thing
both of them are making you hate certain character
and the next scene can make you love her again
until you understand you must hate her
but then she is SUGOI KAWAII and you must love that shit
after all both of the shows are huge mainstreams
and both of them are amazing and a must watch
I would not say that the two shows are similar in terms of the story and plot, but I am writing this recommendation just suggesting the similarities between the two and why I recommend them.

- Both involve a little bit of romance.
They are similar because they both are very gory anime's. Also, the both of the guys have yandere girls with pink hair that have a crush on them.
These two anime keep you at the edge of your seat as you watch the main character meet a pink haired girl who might be more dangerous than her appearance suggests. Both series also have a lot of action and gore. If you enjoy watching psychological anime that have characters with twisted backstories you should like both of them.

These two shows are similar because of their gore and dark themes, as well as romance and the yandere trope, specifically in Mirai Nikki. There is some nudity too, especially in Elfen Lied. There are good plot twists as well, and interesting casts in both.
If you enjoyed one of them, you are quite likely going to enjoy the other as well.
Similar story taste and style, Elfen Lied contains slightly more gore but not in a bad way. Will help with cravings for murderous pink-haired girls and foolish male protagonists/love interests. Less focus on romance but more on family-related emotions.

Those mysterious pink-haired girls share secrets beyond belief and have a truly fucked up past. They are goddesses. They are weapons. The sadness from the end of both animes can give a pretty disastrous case of Post-Anime Syndrome.
Shows are both seinen meaning they are intended for a slightly older audience (roughly 17-25 years if I'm not mistaken). In addition to the fact that they both have a darker and more gritty atmosphere, complete with heavy gore, they both have heavy moral dilemmas and intense psychological aspects.

Unhinged. Future Diary and Elfen Lied both follow powerful pink-haired sociopathic-like girls partnered with a weaker male MC who they have a close connection with.
With Future Diary being about Yukiteru and Yuno's charge through a survival game with the prize to become god, and Elfen Lied's Lucy hiding from the government with Kouta. Both draw out this story that gets deeper and disturbing with every new addition of information and development the story gives, with their male partners doing nothing but accepting the situation that they have been put into unwelcomingly.

Obviously we couldn't miss on seeing the double-sided personality of the protagonists of both the anime,
although elfen lied is a bit more concentrated and less repetitive, mirai nikki remains the best one among them.

Basically: "Mirai Nikki" = "Elfen Lied" - Loli + Yandere
Both anime share a pink-haired crazy girl with a desire to be loved and killer instincts as their protagonist, so if you liked one of them, you'll surely like the other.
Even though both series weren't shy to show nude women, "Elfen Lied" had a bit to many loli scenes in my opinion, most of them felt unneccessary.
