Both Mirai Nikki and Deadman Wonderland have the same kind of themes, but are just put in a different setting. Definitely what I consider two of the most unique series being published at the moment, especially within the violent-supernatural genre.

If you liked Mirai Nikki, you may want to check out Deadman Wonderland.
The protagonist Ganta is thrown into a bizarre and hectic situation and quickly has to figure out how to keep alive.He is also helped out along the way by a girl named Shiro, who posseses strange abilities and a mysterious past. Both of these series are chocked full of action and suspense; and plenty of crazy and entertaining characters that keep you wanting more. Deadman Wonderland is definitelya worthy read.

deadman wonderland has the same art style as MN and the plot twist and turns as much. hehe nice guys all of a sudden get dragged into another world but this all happened of what they were currently doing and the past. both the female leads turn out to be cold blooded killers.

It's hard not to see the resemblance with these two. A wimpy 14 year old stuck in an unpleasant situation with a strange girl. Both girls appear to be friendly to the protagonists but seemingly carry some kind of secrets/ulterior motives. Oh and both shows are violent.

In both manga, the protagonist is at first at shock and sometimes a crybaby, and in both manga there is a girl who at first looks cute and innocent and helps the protagonist when he needs help.

Although in mirai nikki yuno loves yuki, while in deadman wonderland shiro wants to be friends with ganta and play, both of the girls are pretty attached to the protagonist.

Both Mirai Nikki and Deadman Wonderland are fairly odd series but what comes from them is blood, gore and a ton of fun. 

To start, both series aren't the smartest or most intelligent but what makes them so great? Well that comes from the enjoyment factor. In both manga you will find yourself cringing and the stupidity and lack or intelligence but just can't help to laugh it off and have a blast.

Onwards, both series have very similar characters.
First you have the wimpy crybaby protagonist.
Second you have the crazy, scary, yandere, stalker heroine.
and for the rest you have some of the weirdest and craziest characters ever made in manga.

For further similarity both manga have similar plot devices. Where the protagonists end up in a crazy death game with supernatural or special abilities/powers.

If your looking for something fun with a lot of blood a gore these two will suit your desire. read more

Want some of the darkest shōnen ever made? If so, then Mirai Nikki and Deadman Wonderland are just for you.

In both Mirai Nikki and Deadman Wonderland, an ordinary teenage boy (Yukiteru Amano/Ganta Igarashi) are thrown into a life or death situation. There is also a crazy girl (Yuno Gasai/Shiro) that’s in love with the main protagonist as well. The art styles are somewhat similar and the cast is full of crazy psychos. Both ran in the same magazine as well (Monthly Shōnen Ace).

The main difference is the setting, as Mirai Nikki doesn’t take place in a prison. While both are very violent, Deadman Wonderland is much more violent. 

Regardless, both are still very similar, and I love both of these manga. After you read these two manga, I’d recommend reading Elfen Lied, which is similar to both Mirai Nikki and Deadman Wonderland. read more

Both mangas are the story of a group of people who have a "virus" and have a power for the virus. In both the main character have a bloody past and are reject by the society and are enclosed. In both a girl meet a boy in the childhood and after years they see again.  And in both very people dead cause the "virus" and the powers.

They both contain lots and lots of blood and gore. The art in Deadman Wonderland is more detailed than in Elfen Lied, but both contain the same storyline: making large sacrifices to save everyone else. They're both great stories.

Both manga contain a seemingly normal main protagonist in an unfamiliar environment. In both stories, the man meets a girl who was his childhood friend, but he no longer remembers her. Both women have split personalities, and were experimented on in their childhood. Both are especially violent and a bit convoluted.

Elfen Lied and Deadman Wonderland follow a very similar storyline and have a very similar feeling. Both are very gory and dark manga with yanderes and complete insanity. Both involve human experimentation as well. Deadman Wonderland is a shōnen (a very damn dark shōnen), and has better art than Elfen Lied, which is a seinen.

Categorize with horror themes, Deadman Wonderland and Tokyo Ghoul tells the story of a young boy as their life changes forever after one faithful event. They discover their newfound powers and must adapt in order to survive. At the same time, they struggle with their humanity and is constantly a target of other supernatural beings. Mystery also envelops the stories of these two series as we learn more about the origins of their settings. Both series convey graphic violence to depict the reality of a world bound by horror. If you're a fan of supernatural fantasy taking place in a modern setting with horror elements, then consider both series worth a try. read more

the themes and dark pasts and the main being given a power they dont want thats the kind of stuff that makes these similar

These are both very similar manga in my personal opinion - the mc are both young boys living everyday lives when their lives are suddenly turned upside down. They then have to learn to adjust to their new lives, and have to deal with tragedy and heartbreak along the way. Both manga are very dark and contain a lot of violence, and just have an overall very similar feel. If you're looking for something more mature, and like one of these manga, then I recommend the other.

Both tell a story of the protagonist getting caught up in a life-or-death situation with supernatural beings, and their tragic backstories. Deadman Wonderland has stunning visuals, constant plot twists and the reveal near the end is amazing. Also both their Manga counterparts are better than the anime.

I feel that Tokyo Ghoul is based off of Deadman. without to many spoilers: 

-Both follow young male leaders were there thrust into a world they don't understand after a thing happens, making them into an setting's "monster".
-The "monsters" have unique powers that are all based around manipulation of a body part
-one of the MC's first allies is a Sword/Blade user
-there is a Bird Motif and the last generation's "Strongest Monster" is referred to as "The Owl"
-there is a secrete police of Anit-Monster soldiers who are the Good Guys on paper but are horrible people

Despite the fact that both series don't share a similar focus about zombie, there are some similarities I noticed when I first read Apocalypse no Toride.

+ Both protagonists are weak (atleast in the beginning)
+ They were also wrongly accused of a crime they did't committed, which got them thrown in prisons.
+ The events happened after that would completely change their lives forever as they try to survive and adapt to their new environments.

Akame ga Kill! addpermalink

Akame ga Kill is a better version of this story, much better and that is why i want to recommend you akame ga kill if you liked deadman wonderland.

Both shows are atrocious in the amount of gore they pour down just for the sake of it. However in akame ga kill it has greater meaning, it's a way to push the plot forward. You will see a much more effective way to make use of gore for the sake of story telling.

You will see elements that are rather cartoonish and unrealistic in both shows, but overall a serious and creepy, sinister atmosphere is persistent in both.

Both go into ridiculous super powers that try to impress more with each new chapter of the story.

I first started watching the anime episode for both of these titles and at first they both seemed just alright and average at best and then both are plunged into nonsensical gore without meaning and filled with pointlessness. While deadman wonderland makes you watch just to see how it ends, akame ga kill will eventually lift itself off the ground and become more meaningful. read more

Deadman Wonderland and Psycome have a lot in common with one another. They're both set in a prison-like setting, they both follow a falsely imprisoned protagonist, and they both feature a mysterious female character who is hiding more than she is letting on. Where they differ is in their genres. Deadman Wonderland caters more towards the supernatural crowd, whilst Psycome is more ecchi/harem-based. They both make for enjoyable reading, offering plenty of tense, insane moments throughout.

Deadman Wonderland and World Embryo actually share very little in terms of plot except for in both cases the leading female character has a rather rough past. The main similarity is found in their tone, they both are what I would classify as "Dark Shounen" meaning they both maintain many of the qualities that make them shounen but have a much darker tone than manga like Naruto or the like. Another similarity is that in both manga you have a male MC who starts off weak but is extremely determined to rise up to the occasion.

Fantastic Jinsei Kataoka x Kazuma Kondo works that are a mix of several different genres (sci-fi, drama, action, supernatural, tragedy, psychological, some violence, some romance). Both are serialized in Shounen Ace, but are surely more mature and interesting than most shounen series. <br/> In both the protagonist is a kid with a monotonous life, who suddenly encounters a strange girl, and sees his life change drastically. <br/> Both series have exciting plots, the same amazing art, and similar characters.

Both series has psychological themes as well as gore, blood, and violence.

Both series' main male protagonist also has similar personalities and their lives are changed forever after a certain event.

Both series also has a mysterious like background regarding the origins of the characters, the setting, and how events came to be involving some of the supernatural powers presented.

The main male protagonist's life also changes one day after coming face to face with death (near-death in the case for Deadman Wonderland). From there forward, they discover startling truths about their society. Both series also focuses on various mysterious entitles with supernatural abilities. If you are interested in a thrilling series about inhuman power and dark experiments, then these two series are a choice to consider.

Both manga series features the theme of survival when the main male protagonist is certainly and abruptly thrown into a new environment like he has never known before.

At first, the MC seems to be timid and afraid of his new situation but as time goes on, he begins to adapt and learn new skills as well as making both allies/enemies in his quest to survive.

Both series features survival horror themes with violence, gore, and some emotional moments. 

Both series also has a strange background related to the origins of their settings as well as back stories involving the main female protagonist.

Each individual is given an irremovable collar, which either could explode any minute or constantly injects a poison in the person's body. <br/> Both manga are violent, bloody, mature, and set in the future. <br/> Also, both revolve around the specific time of 3 days (in BR, all the students must kill each other, and after 3 days there has to be only 1 winner alive; in DW, the prisoners have to eat a candy, the only antidote to defeat the poison, every 3 days, or else they'll die). <br/> That said, DW > BR. read more

both are dark, gore-y, psychological, horror, mystery, and well, awesome. Pandora Hearts is about a guy named Oz, who on his 15th birthday, is banished to the Abyss by the "red shinigami". Quote," We judge you now using the chains of conviction. Your sin is your very existence." then chains shoot out from under the ground, dragging him into the ancient prison known in fairy tales as the "Abyss". If I say much more I'll be giving spoilers but it is a must-read.

These two mangas share a kind of dark and tragic story, and the characters have some kind of special power they used to fight. The main character in both mangas has lost his memories of somebody very close to him in his childhood, and has a fateful encounter with her after quite some time. Ending is quite happy on both mangas despite all the events were pointing to a very sad one.

While these two titles may not be as similar as you think they are, it still deals with a main character that "gets trapped" in a certain place where they didn't want to be but still stayed for a reason (in a slightly different case for DW, though).

Plus, both mangas have a character with a split personality "sealed" in them.

Both follow teenagers who get framed for murder, and then get placed in brutal prison settings. While Deadman Wonderland is clearly more influenced by battle shounen (and has way more gore), Buraiden Gai is more psychological (with more mental brutality). Both also feature desperate prison escape attempts.

Nanbaka and Deadman Wonderland both take place in a prison. Each series has one or two crazy characters. There is a very stern prison guard in each series. Deadman Wonderland is a darker, and more violent series. While, Nanbaka is a more light-harted, comedic series.

While Darwin's Game was focused on a deadly mobile game, Deadman Wonderland was about prisoners who were forced to fight (and kill) each other to entertain others. Both of the protagonists start out weak (and really pathetic tbh), but grow stronger (which is seen in...well, a lot of manga/anime but!! they really do turn badass :P). However, Deadman Wonderland has more of a (slightly) romantic theme (near the end), compared to Darwin's Game.

Both have dangerous inescapable prisons with protagonists trying to navigate their way through it. Ori no Naka no Soloist is about how a girl looses her brother in the prison as a baby, and is looking for him. The art style is very beautiful.

Yakusoku no Neverland addpermalink

They both have a main character whose life is practically destroyed one day by death. Both have a main character who is trapped in a prison and wants to get out. While the characters in The Promised Neverland are fighting their "mom" to eventually escape into a hostile world they must escape from or change (or be eaten), the main character of Deadman Wonderland, Ganta, is trapped within a prison that will kill him if he doesn't do what he needs to. In both stories the main characters (who are 13-14) meet people who start off as their enemy, but eventually become their allies to fight against the Big Evil tm. And they both have (spoilers!) A certain white haired friend that is seen as a villain at some point in the story, who commits mass murder, and wants to be free. There's also a group of enemies with masks in each, but they aren't super similar otherwise, one being demons and the other being genetically modified humans. Basically both series have kids who go through way too much for someone their age to have to go through, while being seen as food or sub-human and treated like trash by the groups who hold that view of them. Also both have meh anime adaptations that disregard the manga's later story line. read more

1. The survival factor.

  a.	Both main characters are trapped in crazy situations that they didn’t ask for nor had they ever imagined.
  b.	Their lives are continuously at stake.
  c.	At both stories there is someone superior (with powers or authority ) who decides all those murderous insane games and fights and who treats people just as pawns or puppets.

2. The growth and development of the main character through the story.

3. The main characters of these two stories are very similar to each other

  a.	They both lived in their peaceful and monotonous lives, but than everything is turned upside down with the terrible deaths of their classmates ,where they (main characters) are the only survivors left
  b.	If they want to survive they have to discard their old selves and figure some way out
  c.	They both care very much about their friends and will do anything ,even risk their lives for their protection and safety 
  d.	They both have a girl best friend they know since childhood
  e.	They both want revenge. They both want to punish those who made their lives miserable and make them pay.

In both Soul Eater and in Deadman Wonderland the characters are forced to struggle against insanity. While Deadman Wonderland is by far a darker tale, its twisted carnival setting sort of reminded me of the punk/halloween like style portrayed in Soul Eater.

Deadman Wonderland has a lot more blood and violence while Air Gear has some of the markings of a traditional inspiring shounen series, but both series have a similar kind of action and kinetic feel to them, a similar unorganized non-tournament fight-after-fight structure, and the same 'find your own reason' motivation for the characters to keep going and base their choices on.

Both series have characters who use blood-type abilities in battle, where each character uses their own blood to fight in unique ways.

Both series are around a prison, they have very violent scenes and a main teenager male character that has to discover the many secrets behind.
Althought DW is not over yet, they both have a great plot and are very interesting.
As well Fortified School is a "must" to be read, one of the pearls from the "old school manga" :3
If you liked one of those, u'll probably like the other as well !

The stories are not similar but both have blood-filled fight scenes and some kind of supernatural element (even though Haruka is the only one on UDDUP). If you enjoy the realistic art of UDDUP then you should try Deadman Wonderland. Both of the series have a hint of romance but very little compared to the action.

in these mangas it is set in a place with no escape. Jack Frost and Senji Kiyomasa both fight with blades that extend out of their arms, both are supernatural/horror type manga and each involve a lot of fight scenes, explosions and blood and gore

Both are horror/action that also contain a huge amount of gore. In both shows, the protagonist finds himself in a bizarre world filled with monsters, and he is desperately trying to survive...

A VERY good read to those who like Deadman Wonderland. Lots of blood, violence, and very gorey scenes. Starts off similarly with the leads character's parents being brutally murdered by a strange entity.

Out of these two, I'm not sure which is the dafter: the one with a prison that's used as an amusement park or the one where a classy all-girl school has the students try to kill edge other for badges after lessons. It's a tough one.

In Deadman Wonderland a class is slaughtered, some average-but-naturally-heroic midget gets blamed and then attempts to unravel the conspiracy in prison... while playing death-games in order to earn enough credits for food and death-aversion candy.

In Tokyo Girls Destruction a girl transfers to a school built on a man-made island in order to discover the truth behind her older sister's death... because the school can keep bodies and do what they want, or something. Once there, she has to fight to keep her badge in order to be able to eat, while acting like a useless shoujo heroine (tomboys replace protective bishie love interests).

They're both dumb. Very dumb. But TGS wins because A) it has an all-girl cast B) it has pantsu and C) the art is sexy... for 2D drawings that fit into small boxes, that is. So, drop DW and start TGD if you have a penis. read more

Did you like the tripe that was DMWL? Damn will you love this series then!! Violence! Blood! Action! Humor! ACTION!! Fun characters that aren't annoying or whiney! All from the hands of the author who brought us Trigun! You can only find this translated on bookshelves though.

Both have a lot of action, a lot of gore. Both have the main character risking their lives in death or life competions and fighting the bad guys . In both mangas the story is unraveling little by little and you just can't stop reading.

Franken Fran addpermalink

Although not depicted in the same story format, (but nonetheless amazing in its own creative right) Franken Fran delivers as Deadman Wonderland delivers in terms of gore, unexpected twists in events, and ample levels of violence. Gore is not random in either manga; it is a price tag for the nature of both storylines. Happy endings are also rare. If you devoured chapters of Deadman Wonderland like candy then Franken Fran will be just as sweet.

Taking place in a modern setting, both series deals with bizarre events that surrounds the main protagonist's life as they develop a mysterious power. There is an immense amount of mystery regarding these powers as each chapter reveals darker details about its origins. Both series are infamous for their violence and experimentation concepts as well.
