Both series adapts a similar style of story telling and involves a main male protagonist whose life is changed forever after a faithful event.
In both series, there is violence, gore, and blood being shed. All of these are presented in a way that is gruesome and most times tragic.
There is a mysterious source to the events going in both series and the main protagonist struggles to learn more about them along with others.
Both series also incorporates drama, horror, and occasionally mild comedy.
Beginnings are similar as the male main character's class mates are murdered. If you're a fan of horror, I recommend you try them both.
