Both protagonists were discriminated by their summoners when they were brought to another world. Only after being thrown away, they grow stronger and hope they can grab a hold of revenge against everyone who discriminated against them.

This is about male protagonists that start from the bottom, and have to work their way up to high standing. All this happening in an RPG setting.
reportRecommended by MagicFlier
The plot in both stories are extremely similar, with the main protagonists being unwillingly summoned to another world to fulfill their roles as 'heroes'. Yes, in inverted commas. Additionally, both stories are held in a setting that is very much alike that of an RPG (Role-playing Game). Both are also adaptations of their respective light novels.

The main male protagonists from both series are similar in personalities while the games themselves contains many twists that tests their potentials.

MC gets summoned to another world Start with poor stats being the weakest of the party being betrayed and lied at the same time.
reportRecommended by TheRogueMage
Both stories revolve around less than heroic heroes that are hated by everyone, but are still forced to save the world.

A twist a fate leads a hero down the path of vengeance. How will they redeem themselves after being thrown off the right path?

Both MC were trapped in a VRMMORPG World (In Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari case its similar) where they have to fight to survive/protect something. Both MC is trying to find a way to escape from the world. In the case of SAO Kirito start off being OP early while the MC in Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari get stronger bit by bit. There will be sword fight scenes within both series, medieval-ish setting. However SAO does not have any magic settings in it.

Both have a male protagonist that goes to another world and want revenge - Shield - Spear guy( good thing I guess) - Racoon girl + Rabbit girl + Torture methods + Sword power hero Pretty similar to tate no yuusha, I really recommend you to read the manga ou the light novel Nidome is about a guy that wants revenge after being betrayed and so he swears that if he ever get another chance to get it he will make sure to make everyone have a Slow and Painfull death.
reportRecommended by fendo160
Both main characters are unsupported RPG like world also both of these protagonists are misunderstood but the people of that world.

-Character summoned from another world.

Both male protagonists end up in a new world without exactly knowing how. Although nothing has stated, it does have a certain MMORPG feel to the setting. Both start with the protagonist(s) pretty much bottom rung and having to work their way up.
reportRecommended by JaeBeanie
Both are stories about people reborn in a new world, a world where they are hated and rejected. While Shield Hero is about a "powerless" rejected hero, Light Beyond is about a broken saint. A saint who has lived a painful, cruel life becoming twisted. Both of them are forced to become outcasts and must create a new life for themselves in this twisted, new life
reportRecommended by kyazi
In both the protagonist has a very strong shield.

Tate no yuusha and isekai maou, both main characters have interesting personality, they both act and react to fantasy world differently, and also transported to another world
reportRecommended by Jack_Danger
Both hero 'reincarnate' to a new world, and the unwanted hero from the person that summon them. Living independently hated by the kingdom.

While Tate no Yuusha is more dark/depressing,Tsuki ga Michibiku is more relaxing but at the same time have some bloody event happened as well. Both are great read.

Because it's always the good hero suffers because of some princess. However our hero overcomes objectives and proves to be omnipotent with revenge intent. If you want to see princess suffer, these are the recommendations.

Both of manga show the grim reality of how world works and how much sacrifices needed to become the greatest of you. Both of the story indeed about vengeance but instead showing unnecessary vengeance, their path of heroic story was justifiable in fact they're deserve more recognizing from other fantasy tropes that filled nothing but nonsense. Trust me, if you're like me who looking the proper fantasy with proper path of world then both of them are your strong suit

In both mangas the MC was summoned to another world and have rpg features and demi-humans companions

1) Falling yuusha (hero) 2) Story set in a fantasy world 3) Both main character are hero and have a "awful life" 4) Both main character are persecuted for the country 5) Both work have a world traveler theme 6) Both main character have "cheated" powers
reportRecommended by Kiakrre
Both of these are similar because ... The genre is all about Fantasy and fighting The main characters both run away from the castle And because they're team gets stronger as they go on
reportRecommended by animelova
Both the main characters are learning how to deal with coming to a new world that is rpg like and has different rules than the world they know of.

MC are transported to a different world and obtain a special legendary weapon.

1) Both works are full of mistery about his respectives themes ( the abyss in "Pandora Hearts" and the wave in "Tate no Yuusha") 2) Both main character want protect to all his loved people even if that mean lose his life 3) The mistery in both works is revealed to measure the story get moving

As a twist of fate in Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari and Yakushoku Distpiari. The two protagonist are given skills that would lead them down the path of despair. Hence effecting their personality, reputation, and even perception of life for the worst. Though dealt with a bad hand. Both of our perceived as villain characters, would have to makes the best of what they got to achieve their goal as supposedly hero.

In both series the MC were summoned into another world. Both are Medieval-ish with Magic settings. Saito is like a slave for Louise in Zero No Tsukaima while the MC in Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari is the opposite. (Master). In the case of Saito he was summoned into Louise's world to protect her while Naofumi were summoned to protect another world.

Both are set in a fantasy world. "Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari" is a slightly more sinister manga, with the MC being falsely accused of rape and everyone turning against him cause a barbaric and distrusting streak in his behaviour. "Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami" is about a girl getting reborn into an Otome Game as the villianess and avoids her fate and uses her old world knowledge to better the land her father hands to her.

Both Manga have the MC who feels like they can help people but then something happen to them and now they have trust issue and can never trust anyone but little then might but in Adventurers Who Don't Believe in Humanity their are a party who don’t trust while in Shield Hero it’s just one
reportRecommended by AkatsukiUlquiora
When you are brought in a world with other people then when they look at you you are worth nothing to the kingdom and cast you out. These manga are very similar of being a Isekai and being a unwanted hero but showing everyone that they are wrong
reportRecommended by AkatsukiUlquiora
Just like SAO and some other series, mangas and novels, this 2 are about virtual reality online role playing, the lives of the protagonist in them and the dangers they have to face. The only difference is, Tate no Yuusha does not only show a more promising plot, until now, it has also been the most fun to read. It wouldn't amaze me to see this manga animated next year, and gaining the same amount of popularity as SAO.
reportRecommended by Nikxx1
Both mangas look like cliche fantasy stories at the first glance and then unexpectedly turns out to be unique masterpieces. Akame ga kiru is about the boy with noble intentions searching for adventure and instead finding cruelty and corruption of the empire, while Tate no yuusha is about a modern guy thrown into fantasy adventure, but getting rejected by it from the very start, and struggling to survive.
reportRecommended by Noitrus
Try reading Isekai de "Kuro no Iyashi Te" tte Yobareteimasu and Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari together. It's like you are looking at a coin flip for deciding who gets the more pleasant half of the situation they are in.

Both are male protagonists who are brought to another world. They buy slaves to form their party and learn more about the world from them. Both protagonists grow overpowered as they come against stronger and stronger enemies.
reportRecommended by MagicFlier
Both protagonists were heavily mistreated by many within the kingdom they were involved with, so they fought back. Losing the ability to (more-or-less) trust others, they left the kingdom behind to travel to other places instead, increasing the number of trusted allies on the way.

Randomly brought into a fantasy world, a group of ordinary citizens are now tasked with the duty of protecting the kingdom from the evils that reside in the world. The series, however, deviates from the classic "hero versus demon lord" trope. The protagonist of Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari takes the dark anti-hero path in order protect the innocents from the hordes of demons. Even though he is hated by nearly all, he still burdens himself in saving the lives of the people. The heroine of +α no Tachiichi possesses the power of the Holy Maiden, however, she is torn between friendship and duty. While read more

Its similar because both MC's are given shields instead of weapons to fight, but one is set in school while the other is in a different world.

Both have a fantasy-world setting. "Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari" is a slightly more sinister manga, with the MC being falsely accused of rape and everyone turning against him cause a barbaric and distrusting streak in his behaviour and "Yasei no Last Boss ga Arawareta!: Kokuyoku no Haou" is about a guy being trapped in a game as a female character.
reportRecommended by popcorncoral
Both MCs are thrown away at the start due to a miscomprehension of their strength. Although Tate no Yuusha is very mild in comparison, the MC for "Hazurewaku..." does what needs to be done and will kill anyone who gets in his way to revenge.
reportRecommended by Dignity
both have a game like feeling mix with fantasy travel to different world and ame characteristics

guy get transported to a different world gets a ability which is looked down by others or just plain gets looked down by other later he finds a way to make use of ability and be hero

Similar vibe when reading, though different plots. Both male MC have someone they want to protect.
reportRecommended by SayonaraRai
These two quite similiar to each other, like how the MC really resemblances each other Horo (Spice and Wolf) with Rapthalia (Tate no Yuusha). These two manga also about an adventures though in Spice and wolf is more about commerce and in Tate no Yuusha is more about action. But, somehow the atmosphere is quite the same we can feel how the MC feels about their partner and furthermore these series is also enjoyable to watch. If you like adventure and loveable MC you should try this one.
reportRecommended by Kynov
The premise of the stories is that the main characters starts anew in a fantasy based setting, ability which is looked down by others or just plain gets looked down by other later he finds a way to make use of ability .

Both have a male protagonist that goes to another world and want revenge Only Nidome no Yuusha wa Fukushuu, the MC is more of an antagonist (like Overlord vibe), more savage and darker than Tate no Yuusha.
