One Punch-Man

A character who seems like an average kid but possesses a will and power beyond what people can imagine. They are considered heroes (or at least by what they are known) in both series. Not only are the main protagonists' personalities are alike but there is also a great focus on the conflict they get into with others. Most of this is portrayed in a shounen fashion with an appeal to comedy and action. Recommended for fans who are looking for something out of the ordinary.

Both mangas emphazises heavily on the world and concept of super heroes with a varied cast which showcases a lot of different personalities and powers.

Super heroes, this is the main theme in both of these mangas. The main characters are also very alike. They both didn't have a lot of streght, but really wanted to become strong in order to protect the world. There are a lot of fight against evil that will blow your mind. If you like action packed manga with original and cool powers, then these manga are perfect for you!

One Punch-Man and Boku no Hero Academia are like brother mangas. They could even be set in the same universe with very little tweaks to it's storyline.

Heroes, this is the theme of both manga. One Punch Man follows a relaxed and episodic line, while Boku no Hero has a more structured story, but both have big action scenes and have similar elements as heroes agencies and various villains.

They are great manga that certainly please the fans.

- They both portray societies in which super heroes are commonplace.
- In both there are heroes who care enough about their rank / popularity and others who only care about doing what is right
- The difference would be the protagonists, being that Midoriya started being the weakest and after receiving the One For All from All Might is evolving, and Saitama who after so much training became bald and defeats anyone with just one punch.
- Although the protagonists are different, on several occasions they will thrill you, surprise you.

Simple-minded protagonist gets themselves into power struggle and hierarchy of those who weild unnatural powers. He proceeds to beat through problems he encounters with pure raw strenght and carefree attitude.

Both have a main character that are comically overpowered, and both also have similar comedy. While mashle isn't as good as OPM, you'll probably get some enjoyment at least from it at least.

Both the main characters have insane physical strengths, so much so that both of them defy the logics of their world. Also the facial design of both the protagonists is quite same, Mash looks like a Saitama with hair, and both of their sense of humor is quite similar too.
Mashle and one punch man are quite similar in their way of comedy.
The setting of the 2 stories however is a little different. Mashle is set in a magic world, where OPM is set in a "regular world".

Both have the same kind of main character. Overpowered with just brute force strength alone, both are just ordinary people surrounded by people with real convictions and abilities. Instead of heros (like One punch-man) Mashle has a world with magic and a lot like Harry Potter!

Both of these are gag heavy shounen manga that rag on common shounen tropes in battle manga, the action is out of this world in both series with the MCs overwhelming everyone they face with relative ease. 

The overpowered MC trope leads to a lot of gags and funny moments between side characters and other cast members, but it's also a source of some of the more awesome fights that really get you hyped

Both protagonists have physical strength well above human limits. They also both have really aloof personalities where they dont seem to care about many things. The gag comedy style of both mangas are also insanely similar.

If you ignore the comedy/parody part .. then there is hardly any difference between OPM and Solo Levelling.. starting from the Unknown or not yet revealed reason/logic behind the strength of the Overpowered Main character, the concept of growing from weak to insanely strong , the main character ranked very low despite having the strength to outclass the proud fighters in the higher ranks, everyone looking down on the MC because of his low rank, MC gradually climbing up in rankings while shocking and surprising everyone, the random apprearence of monsters in cities and special humans with abilities to fight them organised in a ranking system which is the same in both series( S,A,B,C,D.. Ranks). Both series have insanely good artwork and that's the prime selling point of both series. The artwork is so good that it gives you the feeling of watching anime, making the fights very enjoyable.
In sum , you will be forgiven for thinking of Solo leveling as the Korean version of One punch man.. with the exception that MC does not One punch his opponents in Solo Levelling since he uses weapons  HaHa. read more

Both have a protagonist that grew from a regular human to an unimaginably owerpovered being, to an extent that it is so beyond the understanding of the power system of others they simply cannot believe it. Both protagonists are part of an association - hero association and hunter association, whose purpose is to fight monsters that randomly appear in the city.

The main difference between them is the comedy part about OPM. Besides that both have a MC that becomes overpowered because unknown reasons and who's ranked very low despite being ridicously strong.  

Also both of them have amazing drawings. Seriously, you will fall in love with the artstyle of them.

Both starts off with a weak protagonists that want to become strong. Although the tone is very different (one being satirical parody, one being how the protagonist develop), the world-building is nearly identical. Both have monster suddenly appearing on their world, have some companies hiring people as heroes/hunters, ranks their heroes, etc.

And one of the prominent thing to know is that both of these titles have awesome art (the type that feels as if the pictures are moving) and pure badassery (especially when they fight).

Despite the fact that I found these two titles similar, Solo Leveling focuses less on side characters (almost non-existent).

Except for the satirical part of One Punch Man, both have some similarities:
- Ranks, with S rank being the highest.
- It is in the present age.
- People who have awakened their powers become hired by some company to fight monsters.
- Awesome protagonist.

Also, there are several small narrative similarities.

The main similarity is Op main character, both are done extremely well. One punch man does have its comedy aspect of it but Solo Leveling like any action type manga can be funny at times. Art styles are worlds apart in terms of style but both look amazing in their own ways.

Both manga are written by the same author with a similar style. The character designs are simple but has creativity to their complex natures. The action is fluid with a distinctive presentation. Structure also plays a key role with both works that is cleverly written with its characters. There is strength in these characters beyond their power and extends to their developments. Expect intense action and a story of energy that is worth every second of your time.

One Punch-Man and Gintama combines elements of action, shounen, comedy, and all in general crazy fun to make a creative story. The main male protagonist also has a laid-back personality although they do take responsibility when the need calls for it. Both series has very catchy dialogues and character interactions that define the personalities of its cast. Action in both series are depicted with artistic movement and crafted with style. Recommended for any fan of shounen.

Both series blend deep dives into characters' personalities and mental trauma with humour. ChSM is to OPM like rebelious brother. ChSM humour is more edgy and immature and the portrayal of violence and psychology is more brutal, messier, uglier. Both have very creative character designs and splendid chemistry between them.

Main char is extremely strong and oblivious to Boss-level opponents.
Both have problem with ugly appearance, unfit to be a hero.
Both mangas have original story telling, and gradually getting better as the story progress.
For isekai ojisan, if you want a refreshing comedy and romance, give it a try. Its totally addicted in its own way.

There are differences, with OPM focusing more on action and Mieruko-chan focusing on horror, but both use the same kind of humor involving misunderstandings that quickly spiral out of control. The two manga also subvert expectations of typical tropes in fiction by depicting events that are a little closer to reality.

You love Saitama? You love well handled overpowered characters, then you'll find Gojo interesting. Also, have you noticed Saitama is more of a side character after the first season? Yuji might be strong but he's not overpowered in his universe where there are so many more powerful sorcerers. That's why, even though in the opposite way, he ends up like a background character just like Saitama. You get to learn more about both main characters bit by bit.

Both of these series are a humorous take on the shounen genre, while OPM focuses on Saitama never being able to show his true strength because everyone else is comedically weak. TSSB focuses on the MC being constantly nerfed in absurd ways, never winning his fights because he simply never has the chance too. These series are both pretty good parodies of the battle genre, though TSSB is a little bit frustrating to read at times because he simply can not catch a break, fans of OPM who like to see Saitama constantly winning may not enjoy this series.

Fans of OPM might like this for the mix of comedy and action, in transfer student storm bringer the MC is actually a wimp who somehow fumbles his way into being the craziest powerhouse in the school. Though this is the opposite of OPMs plot where the super OP character simply can't catch a break and show off how strong he really is, I think fans of OPM will enjoy the humorous take on the shounen fighting genre, it's got a great mix of humor and action both that helps set it apart from other similar series in the genre

Both are hillarious comedy-parody manga about overpowered superheroes who  are so strong that they defeat their "cliche" opponents easily with one hit (there is no getting stronger drive of the story) so both of their plots mainly revolve around gags and their personalityes (Hero Saitama and Sunred are also similar - lazy, easily get annoyed and a bit antiheroic).

However, Yasuzaki-Man's character is sort of the opposite of Saitama, being anxious and awkward.

Although two mangas have completely different setting (high school life vs hero world), they share the fundamentals behind the story. Both Saitama and Mitsuhashi always win; Saitama with his ridiculous punch and Mitsuhashi with quick wit and dirty tricks. Both grotesque and fun, mixing fights and normal life situations, bizarre plot twists and many fun characters.

However, in Sexy Commando Gaiden the entire purpose of the secret technique is to catch the opponent off guard enabling anyone to be defeated with a single punch and thus assuring victory, while in One Punch-Man the main character is frustrated because he can't make any fight last longer because of his overwhelming strength.

Dandadan has similar sense of humor when designing enemies, and additional twists on its own. Instead of Mysterious beings there are aliens and spirits. And some people having superpowers. Anyways if you enjoyed OPM, you might find Dandandan fun, too.

Both are hilarious and stylish, keyman even have the Sfx written out in English, hillariously wrong sometimes. Highly recommended!

SHGD is the nasty little brother of OPM. Similar but cruder humor, similar superpowers, but with a storyline that reeks of drugs. Actually SHGD contains very little fan service as well (even if the plot is very sex-centered), so that's a similarity as well. And oh they're both extremely funny.

The most obvious comparison is that the two are both battle shounen with pretty great action sequences. Saitama (One Punch-Man) has some similarities with Gon (Hunter x Hunter): both are kind of dense, enjoy goofing off, have immense power even though they don't look like it, and can be pretty scary when they get serious. Genos (One Punch-Man) has some similarities with Killua and Kurapika (Hunter x Hunter): Genos and Killua both have natural skill, power, a cool sense of seriousness, and wish to catch up to their respective partners; Genos and Kurapika both have goals towards exacting revenge on those who wronged them. The enemies in both One Punch-Man and Hunter x Hunter have interesting designs and relatively well thought out backgrounds. I also found similarities between One Punch-Man's Heroes Association and Hunter x Hunter's Hunters Association as they both: have an exam to qualify, employ Heroes/Hunters in mass quantities, distinguish Heroes/Hunters by ranking, and strive to protect the world from any type of danger.

Overall, both are enjoyable series. If you like action with some comedic value thrown in, these two are both great reads.      read more

In two letters: OP. Just like that, both stories revolve around these Over Powered MCs complaning about being too over powered. However, what you must remember is that both are comedies, satires of their respective genres.

One punch man: it's a parody that mocks about the superheroe concept along with the archetype of the battle mainstream mangas.

Shinka no mi: it's a manzai sketch full of countless tsukkomi per chapter pointing out the absurdness of the cliches seen in most of the isekai light novels.

Although, if I should point a difference, the principal might be the development:

One punch man jumps right into the acid humor that will, little by little, break the shell of the characters surrounding the MC, deepening the story and the world where it takes place.

Shinka no mi, on the other side, has more of a childish flavor. The jokes go for an easy laugh and the development pace is SO slow, that you might think that there is none; and unless you are really into random humor, you probably will quit after the first arc ends. read more

Both of these titles focus on protagonists who are already powerful as oppose to protagonists who have great potential. They are also both very comedic and are from new-blood, shounen authors that stand out from other, new titles.

Parodies of a superhero genre with untraditional protagoinst that has a certain gimmick. Both mix comedy with action, though Lolicon Phoenix puts more emphasis on the comedy part.

-Their biggest similarity is how ridiculously intense and over the top the fight scenes are.

Same concept with an overpowered character that only shows off a few times in the story and only a handful of characters know about him. Meanwhile he pretends to be a weakling wagie.

No fantasy stuff here, just the world's #1 assassin taking a vacation dealing with maffia like it's a walk in the park.

More serious than One Punch-Man, world & characters are very different. But the premise and the story structure has similarities: enemy appears --> protagonist deals with it --> very few people realize it was him --> chill & fun --> new enemy appears. Like a slice of life version of One-Punch Man, also a lot more bloody. read more
