| Allies: Yutaka Yamamoto aka Yamakan and (formerly) his studio Ordet - for bringing some of the best talents in the industry to create one of the best anime I've seen, caring about what he loves to the point of being uncompromising and brutally honest about it, and somehow learning how to work with other people despite being an annoying piece of shit (just like me, for real). Enemies: People who cancelled him. The proponents of cancel culture are proponents of mob justice. They are not educated enough to know about non bis in idem, or even worse, they are willing to ignore it just because they are as righteous as Christian crusaders, and their "justice" is based on emotional affection, and not on objective judgement. They happily ignore the fact Yamakan has already suffered his punishment and learnt a lesson how to deal with other people (he's been managing his own studio for years somehow, okay there?), and ostracized him anyway - just because he said something on Twitter that annoyed them. Despite this kind of people claim how they are anti-racist and so on, this is the kind of people who would've been lynching blacks in the United States during the Jim Crow era. |

| The friends that I have made online. It can be really difficult to find people who are accepting of people like me in fandom spaces, so the occasions where I find those people really feel special. I don't have any actual industry connections so I can't really say I have many allies in the industry itself lol, but if I did have to ally people I would love to help out the translators and localization teams since they really aren't treated the best by both the industry itself and the internet, so I feel it's important to treat them with respect and maybe even push for better working conditions for them allowing them to have better pay and actually get credited in some cases since having a credit on a big show can be really good for their careers. |
