Nice to meet ya. Funny thing is, if you take away all of my rewatches it comes out to only 295, so in terms of first-time watch-time we're pretty even, lol.

I've got a bit of a goal to get to 2000 completed by the end of the year, which is feasible given my current job, but I keep dumping time into longer anime that I usually wouldn't be able to justify wasting time on. If you asked me last decade if I'd ever watch Fairy Tale or Yu-Gi-Oh GX, I'd call you crazy for asking.

Taking a look at your list, I like how much you use the "Tags" feature. I feel like I should use it more often. I also feel like I need to revamp my entire grading scale, but that's a little daunting, lol.

I didn’t watch Yuri on Ice either, it’s also not really my thing and I haven’t had amazing reviews from gay men I know irl, but I know how much it was loved and talked about at the time. I enjoyed Banana Fish but the moment that
I think I started finding it all overly dramatic for the sake of it (also he was also the only character I was invested in) so I stopped watching. I might give it another go because I’ve heard so many mixed opinions about it. I remember I cried while reading Given, I didn’t like the anime much because I didn’t like the singing in it lol, but I enjoyed the manga more than I expected to.

I had a similar problem getting invested in CGDGC, I didn’t watch it at all as a teenager partly because I thought it was a genre for perverts or boring people. I’m more openminded about it now, lol. I think a big part of it is the appeal towards people who are attracted to women and because we don’t have that it just feels shallow a lot of the time. I’d much rather watch an action series with an interesting well written female lead than CGDCT, but I guess that’s just personal preference. I also tend to be more into it if it’s guys, but then I guess that’s obvious if I’m gay lol.

I felt BL authors care much more than GL authors. I know they did something good if they made felt many emotions in a single genre like with others genres I like.

I think you put this perfectly.

I watched the og cardfight vanguard series when I was a kid and rewatched some of it recently. It’s your standard 2000s card fighting shounen anime, but you might find it interesting that the first season accidently works as a metaphor for a gay coming of age story.

Thanks for writing back! This was fun

Would be great if Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry got a second season.

I hear you. I already knew the post would be controversial got the elitists and normies coming after me. The point of the post was to expose my problem with new fans is that they're culture vultures and don't know true otaku culture. They dismiss anything that doesn't fall into the norm when things like that have been in anime for decades.

Then they automatically assume things about people who enjoy those things like the people who called you a pdo, that's my main problem is the woke movement effecting anime. They look at the surface and when they look at what anime really is they get scared off or try to induce their woke garbage onto it and watchers.

I've been praying for a second season for so long. There's definitely enough material for it and a couple more seasons for sure.

Hey, thanks for the comment. I do know for a fact that Japan has a low crime rate but I didn't think something like shoplifting could be that big of a crime, but thanks for the correction. About the thread, I don't read many peoples replies except for like first ten or so, so I don't know what most people are talking about.

I understand, but it had made such a big drama and worrisome vibe by something that isn't that deep. Comparing to kushida's past, for example, it had way more drama involved for ichinose, even though kushida's one is way more deep as well. This surely is a problem for the author, setting the right expectations. I do like the anime a lot tho👍

Hi, this is a very ambiguous situation. I just hope Kyoto Animation will finally get back on track and regain its greatness.

smegma male Ayanokouji is superior to all these other measly anime. Sigmas don't watch anime. We calculate how we can look down on others. We are lone wolfs. I, king of the smegma males have final say on what is good and what is bad because I've been alone so long I know of all kinds of pain. Rise sigmas ✊

Apparently yes, my country declared illegals any manga (and presumably anime?) in which there's even just a panel with a naked underage character. Now, since it's not easy to determine if a character is underage or not in many cases, they said such characters can be recognized by those traits:

«Giovani ragazze, poco più che bambine, che mostrano le parti intime: la statura, il volto, i caratteri sessuali appena accennati (lo sviluppo mammario e pilifero) sono elementi rivelatori del fatto che si tratta di soggetti di età ampiamente inferiore ai 18 anni».

Which translates to:

"Young girls, merely under the age of being called kids, showing private parts of their body: their bodies, faces and sexual physical feature (breasts and body hair) are elements to take into consideration to understand if the characters is under 18."

Of course, as you said, I don't really think this is going to change anything for those who watch them. I think the base concept of this law is right (they are basically trying to fight pedophilia), absolutely, but they worded it wrong.
The only thing I'm concerned about is what this law is going to change for the anime/manga distribution in my country. It has never been a big thing but lately there has been a boom in the comic books economy in Italy, so it would be a shame to see it fail under the circumstances of a poorly worded law, in particular because it's my dream job to get in that industry.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
