Talking specifically about "around", from what I've learned from my country's spoken english syllabus, the term is used to refer the what's happening in your surrounding, "People were all around me", although talking about "American" here, it surely influenced Spoken English (not part of the academic learning) on a wider scale, I think a lot of people, including myself learned a good chunk of english through social media, which I sometimes feel like made me almost incompetent in learning this particular language to an extent that I can really communicate better and express myself to others how I want to, or at least be able speak my mind, picking so much random phrases and terms and slowly learning about their use and proper meaning only to later know that this internet english isn't proper, and by saying that I don't meant that I think it's unacceptable rather makes the very language look and sound dull, like for instance this "lol" thing, I get that people don't want to take things too seriously on social media, and fair enough, it's actually the right thing to do in my opinion, but often, and for years now, it just frustrates me how easily it kills the mood for a thoughtful conversation, sorry for the rant, I'm not a good observer yet alone knows how to write properly my thoughts in english, I need to learn a lot in this field, and unfortunately I'm not very motivated to do so.

No, it's more of a, oh no, it's actually a reboot, the older adaptation is presentation wise dated, and doesn't seems to have had enough budget and resources to be animated well enough, the newer one however excels at presenting itself in every respect, but the older version still has a heart warming charm to it, it's realized and effort has been put even in the lackluster looking stuff, I can't blame the staff for anything.

Sounds quite discomforting, but I see a lot of good stuff in the watching list, watching the first Bartender adaptation while the remake/reboot is ongoing, is kinda cool to me, most of those shows are pretty light-hearted in tone, with a few exceptions like Monster, My Star and my personal favorite, My Instant Death Ability is Overpowered.

Well, that's your point of view, from my lens you've seen a lot of anime, I wonder how much content you're at this point, how many good, memorable (many other terms for describing several other pleasant experiences) media you've discovered, I feel like it's a genuine question since no favorites at all to been seen on your profile.

Yeah, it's a shame that sign language isn't universal, but I'm just going to learn the basics of the English version, I hope.its impressive that you remember words in ASL if you don't practice it at all. I keep forgetting the letters after just a few days

I wanted to learn it in college for reasons I don't remember, but I never got around to it. I've got a friend who learned basic sign language since she works with students with disabilities, and she busted out some sign language around the new year that reminded me I wanted to learn it, so I added it to my New Years Resolution list.
