Bleach

Both is about the fight against the underworld of some sort, and the main characters both weild swords the plot is also similar in certain aspects, i'd recommed you watch it for yourself :), much more fun than for me to write spoils here ;).

Both anime have beings that eat human souls (Hollows in Bleach, Tomogara in Shakugan no Shana) and the humans/pseudo-humans that fight them (Shinigami in Bleach, Flame Haze in Shakugan no Shana). Both are also centered on a human that can see/fight these beings.

If you watched both Bleach & Shakugan no Shana, you'll see a lot of similarities.

-Both involved supernatural after-life life forms that harm humans (Hollows in Bleach, Crimson Denizen/Tomogara in Shakugan no Shana).
-both involved spiritual protectors/enforcers that are human/pseudo-humans (shnigami/soul reapers in Bleach, flame haze in Shakugan No Shana).
-main male character (Yuji Sakai in Shakugan No Shana, Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach) meet a mysterious female main character (Shana in Shakugan no Shana, Rukia Kuchiki in Bleach).  Although both Yuji and Ichigo can see spirit, they differ a lot by personality, & other things.

So if you are a fan of Bleach, chances are you might find Shakugan No Shana to fit your taste given that the premise of both titles are very similar. read more

There is a lot of action in both animes, and both can be funny at times. Shakugan No Shana has more of a romance/harem theme though.

Bleach and Shakugan no Shana are similar because the main character meets a mysterious girls with mysterious powers. Some of the differences are there is romance in Shakugan no Shana unlike in bleach which is mainly about the action.

Both main male characters meet mysterious girls with abilities beyond human knowledge. Also both male characters become more stronger and powerful during the story line. However Bleach doesn't have any romance or anything like that but Shakugan no Shana has a hint of romance in it.

Of all the anime I've watched so far, I feel that Shakugan no Shana is most similar to Bleach. The first few episode of both anime start out in the same way; A seemingly normal boy meets a girl from another world of some sort and the life of the boy is changed forever. Both anime focus on action, however, Shakugan no Shana also seems to focus on romance more than Bleach ever did. Personally, I don't care much for romance, especially in an anime that focuses so much on action. However, I feel that the element of romance helped Shakugan no Shana's story in the long run. In the end, if you liked Bleach, I feel that you'll most certainly like Shakugan no Shana. read more

Bleach is clearly inspired in Saint Seiya and this is more noticeable in the Soul Society saga which is very similar to the 12 Gold Saints Saga. The Bleach Captains looks a lot with 12 Gold Saints, both looks "unbeatable" and the power gab between the protagonist and they are initially giant.

I can't believe it, dudes. They both so similar! Bankais, captains and like them saints have diffirent cloths with diffirent powers. (well some times they share one element) It's like a Bleach 20 years ago! I didn't seen anything so similar (and i watched Beelzebub), you should definitely check this out!

Saint Seiya "created" Bleach. Kubo is a fan of series so if you love bleach, you will love a True classic Saint Seiya too!

Bleach is pretty much a spiritual successor to Saint Seiya. It has a similar arc structure. There are the Gold Saints which are the equivalent to the Captains. They have similarities with the main antagonist being similar be it powers and the plottwist.
The Hades Arc which are adapted as OVA's are similar to Bleach's thousand year blood war Arc.

If you like Bleach, there is a high chance you like Saint Seiya.

Many similarities between both series. There's young typical boy who is attending school, but after few minutes, we can see, that there's much more about him and that's not to be only his delinquent's habits. First episode shows us characters from different world, who came to our place, because of their own reasons. I didn't read manga, but I think, there will be many many more charas, so we are receiving another "never ending story".

both featured a tough guy who meets girl from another world and after that gets a supernatural powers. through the story he meets a new friends which also very similar like horny lion or a shy girl who love the main character. sometimes even story will make you say "wow! this is just like Bleach! :D" but with all this similarities Beelzebub feels more like a comedy then a fighting anime.

both have same score: 8.01. so if you have weird fetishes, like watching only shows with same score, then go for it.

Long samurai shounens that aired in the same TV station. Gintama brings out the laughs and references, and Bleach tries it's way to be more darker.

Large cast ( but a lot more interesting and it can be argued screentime distribution is better handled in Gintama among the cast)
Just like Bleach, it has really cool character designs and the fights look great. Most of Gintama's serious arcs have a very Soul Society arc vibe in regards to the tone and the gravity of the situations (imo)

Also a little side note Kubo and Sorachi (author of Gintama) are buddies, idk what that has to do with the two shows but I thought i'd mention.

Bleach and Gintama are two different Anime in regards to the story line, the content, the genres when you look at the overall episodes due to Gintama's huge amount of Comedy and Parody whereas in Bleach these Genre and topics are not really present . Still, when you are a Fan of Bleach the serious parts of the story line of Gintama are probably the things that you would want to watch. The Animation, the soundtrack, the action scenes, the friendship and Drama are in some way or another making the Anime to an extent similar. In short, if you enjoyed Bleach you will most probably enjoy Gintama as well.  read more

This series doesn't really have demons in it, but much of it has to do with spirtual beings and powers and there's a lot of action similar to what's seen in Inuyasha. The episode count is pretty close as well as the characters' special abilities and swordplay.

Both are long-running series that deal with demon slaying and spiritual powers. 

The male leads (Inuyasha/Ichigo) are extremely similar- they're both stubborn, short-tempered, impulsive, sarcastic and highly protective. They also both wield gargantuan blades that can fire a gigantic shockwave with a single strike.

The main villains are also very similar, though to say why would be a spoiler.

Personally, I think both are brilliant, though Inuyasha is definitely better, as it has slightly better characters and much better pacing.

It's obvious that Kubo borrowed many elements from his previous manga (Bleach, obviously) while working on Burn the Witch. Not only are the character designs almost copy-paste but even the way the plot is structured feels quite similar. There's also a silly shoujo-ai aura surrounding some characters in Burn the Witch and similar comic relief which also heavily reminded me of Bleach.

This movie ended up quite uninspired but if you enjoyed Bleach's universe and fights, Burn the Witch might be a bit enjoyable. Who knows...

The anime is based on a mini series (born as a one-shot) created by the author of Bleach himself, Tite Kubo. Consequently the drawing style, the plot and the characters are very bleach-like.
Also in the series there are clear references to bleach and soul society, so any fan will surely appreciate this anime.

Both are written by the same person, Kubo, and are set in the same universe but in a different place. Both main characters are part of a group that saves people from monsters, Bleach with "Soul Reapers" saving humans from "Hollows" while Burn the Witch is "Witches" saving humans from "Dragons".

Both animes treat them of samurais and both characters want to have to be able more to protect the people that them more they love. They struggle for the justice and no matter how strong the enemy is, they never abandon the battlefield and nor they give up the fight, taking a risk their own lives to save the people.

Ichigo and most shinigami in this series battle using sword. They have good sword fighting style. Meanwhile Kenshin and several characters in his anime also battle using sword as their main weapon. Both give us beautiful story with great sword fighting choreography. Two thumbs for both of them, banzai sword! fuck gun!

One can say Bleach is identical to Yu Yu Hakusho but underlying it's true message is that it is Rurouni Kenshin's spiritual successor with the setting of YYH.

The story is about the orange haired male fighting to protect their friends with a sword powerful enough to slay evil to bring justice in a strict moral code.

A lot of moral implications regarding politics are shown. Even anti heroes have the same standards.

In many ways Bleach seems like a modern Rurouni Kenshin

Ichigo/Kenshin: Both are warriors who fight with swords to protect and struggle with their inner demons 

Rukia/Kaoru: The most shipped love interest and also the first woman the main protagonist meets

Renji/Sanosuke: Enemies became MC's best friend after being beaten by them

Saito/Grimmjow: MC's rival

Shishio/Aizen: Main villains who want to overthrow a specific government and rule a different world

Sojiro/Gin: Sword prodigies who have their eyes closed most of the time and have the silent killer vibe

I can go on but I think Bleach is more similar to Rurouni Kenshin than Yu Yu Hakusho as many say

Both of these shows have male characters who start out as the rookie, but quickly acquire skills. The main character in both end up battling it out with increasingly powerful opponents and then often make friends with these opponents afterwards. Both have supporting friends who are not as powerful, but help out all they can. Air Gear definitely shares that similar shounen/action vibe.

Punked out. Those two words describe both series at first glance. The main character's both have attitude, attitude which is slightly if not completely misunderstood. The character facets the character in each series show end up being basic, only to progress as the series progresses.

The story lines are completely different, yet the main characters are what made me think, "If you love Bleach, you'll love Air Gear." I certainly did.
They are both brash and loud and uncontrollable and obnoxious , yet they both have this need to become stronger and end up overpowering and growing more than anyone around them.

There are alot of major differences in the story though.
Young minds...Beware.
There is alot (I mean ALOT) more mature feel to Air gear... Or maybe I should just say, its alot more ecchi. Lol.
Which is fine, if your okay with it ;)

One is about shinigami's and death... and the other is about in line skating.

But I would have to say, they both had a very similar feel in terms of character development, and attachment.
I sincerely wish they would have gone on with Air Gear, and am very pleased Bleach has come as far as it has.
I say Carry on!!

Bleach would be one of the more obvious recommendations. Both animes have humor and action along with perverted scenes, but that's what is expected out of Shonen. Granted, both series are good especially if you're willing to sit through more episodes.

While Bleach and naruto achieved massive popularity outside Japan, Kekkaishi seems very underrated outside Japan. Consistently in the top 10 in terms of viewership in Japan, kekkaishi shares the same shounen genre as its other more popular counterparts. while it does not boast legions of characters or long names for techniques, it takes the simple and often overlooked technique, the kekkai and expands it, giving it a fresher twist.

Both involve a junior high/high school kid finding out that he has some kind of secret supernatural power. With these powers, they save innocent people from the attacks of monsters that resulted because of ghosts that became these monsters after they couldn't reach "the other side". They even have kind of the same outfits... and although they both have this action, they're both pretty funny.

Both the anime is very similar, Ichigo and Yoshimori discovering their powers, first the two girls Rukia and Tokine behind them is stronger, after which time they are becoming stronger and wants to protect all to them precious, and others. both anime have many different type spirits ( evil, good...) Both protagonist helping spirits, normal people don't see them. The man character in kekkaishi have Sumimura family's demon dog and in bleach special type of soul pill called a "modified soul" or "ModSoul. Both anime verry funny and somtimes sad, animation in both very good, plot is little different. Ishigo ( shinigami) Yoshimori ( Kekkaishi).

In bleach, when a human dies it either becomes a whole, whole, a person whole goes to the soul society, or they become a wandering spirt, which then turns into a hollow when they are preyed on by a hollow, or stay in the human world for too long. Ichigo, the main character of Bleach had a vendetta with a certain hollow in one of the first few episodes, much akin to the main character of Shingeki no Kyojin. Also both the main characters are very determined, stubborn, and bear a will of steel.

Both series have species that are larger than and eat humans. Both series protagonists' mothers died due to those species, and both protagonists turn out to be or have the power of those species. Both series have that one girl (They look similar too lol) that has a great love for their brother.

Bleach and Shingeki no KYojin are similar to each other because in the start humans fight against evil creatures (hollows and titans) and not each other. Moreover, human enemies that appear afterwards are traitors in both anime (SPOILER if you haven't watched the anime

Aizen and Annie). Μy opinion-based similarity is that both anime have great action scenes.

The only major difference is Bleach have only 1 protagonist(Ichigo) while World Trigger have 2 protagonists(Yuma and Osamu/dual protagonist sort of thing)

it's got the fantastic fights that go on for episodes at a time, it has the fantastic plots, defeating enemies ten times stronger than you, losing, then training then winning, the main character always faced with constant challenges, when i watched this, i couldn't help but think that i hadn't seen such a good fighting anime since DBZ. though many of the characters are nothing like each other, the style of the anime's are the same, if you enjoyed DBZ, go for bleach!

Long shounen anime filled with action, comedy, and plenty of similarities, both in style, characters, and plot.
In both, the male protagonists are normal students at the beginning, but pretty soon they gain a death-related super power in an almost identical manner (Ichigo becomes a Shinigami after being hit by Rukia/Tsuna gets his power after being shot in the head by Reborn).
Bleach is more on the supernatural side, while Reborn is about the mafia world.

Other than Saitama, whose journey is literally to find someone who can beat him, Ichigo seems to be one of the quickest Shounen protags in developing his skills. He just seems gifted from the being.

Bleach and Kuroko no Basuke have a lot of similarities, even thought they pretty different in concept. Both of them have some sort of supernatural elements, every character have his own uniqe ability and it all filled with similar type of humor. Some characters personalities and even their design sometimes looks really alike. Both features bishonens, so if you watch it solely for pretty boys, you won't be disapointed.

In addition to having a similar premise, Shaman King also has an offbeat feel to it, just like Bleach. If you can sit through a few of the early episodes(Which try to be Yu Yu Hakusho meets Yugioh), a great adventure show waits just beneath the surface. Both shows have a unique protagonist.

The main character of both series acquires a power of another creature without him really wanting it. Due to this his whole life changes and he has to adept to his power and learn to live it. That's not all, now people also want to kill him. If you like dark action based stories, then you should watch these anime. The action and powers in htem are very cool and exciting!

Similar style of story, supernatural powers, shinigami reference, and antagonists of each main arc whose role are identical. Not to mention that the main characters Yusei and Ichigo both are powerful who is essential to saving the world from evil.

Bleach has Shinigami and Hollows, Yumekui Merry has Dreams.  Hollows who escape from Hueco Mundo are bad, and Dreams who escape the Dreamworld are bad. During Yumekui Merry, there are times when the exact same music from Bleach is used.  Not all Dreams are bad though. Some of them fight against other Dreams to protect humans, like Shinigami do to Hollows.

Fighting and ok/decent plots. They are the kind of anime you watch for the action but don't drop because the plot remains fairly interesting.

Both are supernatural anime, have samurai organizations who fight some monsters (in Hakuouki they are humanoid monsters), so far from first episode of Hakuouki samurai seem to have special powers. Most of samurai in Hakuouki tend to have some similarities with Byakuya, the clishe samurai. Hakuouki gives of darker and more serious impression then Bleach. I highly recommend both...

These two animes are similar in many different ways
- Both main characters are transfered to another world
- The main character joins in on the fight in the other world
- The main character is stronger than any other people in the world
-Both fight with swords (though they are used less in Kiba)
-Both main characters have a smart friends who at one point is an enemy, and is stronger than most
- The main character saves the other world

Sword fighting and mysterious monsters, the central theme in both of these series. The main character is on a quest to kill monsters because he wants to make the world a better place to live in. Both of them also get thrown in a situation they weren't expecting and make new friends. The world they live in is ruthless and they have to learn how to survive in order to progress towards their goal.

If you like blood, swords, and boobs, the Bleach and Akame ga Kill! are for you.

 If you are a casual anime fan, who is looking for a general anime expierence including awe-inspiring art work, a decent storyline, with decent characters and epic battle scenes, the Bleach is for you. Following in the footsteps of Ichigo Kurosaki, we find out that Ichigo is about to learn the full extent of the universe; including the realms of the dead and 'soul reapers'.

During Ichigo's travels, he encounters some wild and wacky characters; a beautiful soul reaper who cant draw called Rukia, a talking teddy bear named Kon, a man obsessed with fighting called 'Kenpachi', and many more.

Meanwhile, Akama ga Kill! Reaches out to the more hardcore anime fan; with more blood, guts, and R17+ content then you can throw a book at, keep this away from children! We follow Tatsumi, a young swordsmen who is looking to get money for his crumbling village, that is tight on finance due to the corrupt imperial government.

Finding out that the capital is a lot more corrupt then he originally thought it was, Tatsumi joins Night Raid, a guild of assassins that use Teigu (Imperial Arms) as their signiture weapons. These range from a sword that poisons people, a pair of scissors that can cut anything, a pair of gloves that produce razor thin wire, and even a bullet less gun.

Both Bleach and Akame ga Kill! have their ups and downs; Bleach is almost 400 episodes, and that is a little bit too long to count on. But Akame ga Kill! is only 20-odd episodes, but differs from the manga, and the ending is rather shoddy at best.

However, I would pay to see Aizen from Bleach against Esdeath from Akame ga Kill!. The Yaegers vs The Arrancar would be icing on the cake.

In short, if you watch anime as a form of entertainment, watch Bleach. If you watch anime because it enthralls you, and you love everything about it, pick up Akame ga Kill!

Also happens to fight for the one's that they love and want to protect. Not only that, but they both have company and help by other friends that tag along the way and support them. Action and Fighting Scenes!~

Typical characters from their genres (and in general) fighting strange demons from another world. Not bad but not good supernatural/action/super power anime. One of the female protagonists do not know how to fight and the main male protagonist wants to protect that female protagonist that don't know how to fight. Main male protagonist was your typical, usual teenage boy until the present. (present=until the anime starts or until a few episodes)

In both shows, the main protagonist gets a whole new view of the world. Namely through Magic/Alchemy and Death Gods/Restorations. They end up in a difficult plot, which can get themselves or the people they want to protect killed. Both situations get out of control as a higher evil organization starts to meddle.

Both action-packed, with the needed amount of humor and variaty of characters.

Somehow some character designs made me think of Bleach. Also the 'Branch of Sin' ability in Deadman Wonderland made me think of 'Bankai' in Bleach. They're both skills multiple characters can perform, but it depends on the character how it actually can be used in battle.

A shounen with a, in my opinion, little more mature approuch than Bleach, sacrificing a little bit of fighting for a lot more psychology etc.

   Trigun is a hilarious comedy but when the going gets tough for the characters it gets serious. They are both very similar. Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach is trying to save the world from evil spirits called Hollows. Vash the Stampede from Trigun is trying to save himself from the brink of INSANITY!

Both these series are based heavily in their fight scenes, and they make the fight scenes look GOOD.
They have their comedic moments and tragic moments. And the colours in the god of high school are very vivid, making each panel amazing pieces of art. 
It is similar to bleach in the way that despite it's huge cast, all the characters are fleshed out and well developed. 
I highly recommend The God Of High School as well as giving bleach, the legendary member of the big 3 from the past a try, I swear it isn't just hype.

Both the Anime have a dark story line that progressively gets darker. The latter style of Bleach is similar to the style Kamisama Dolls has. On top of this one of the characters is very similar to Ichimaru Gin... they're both creepy in similar manners. It is also about fighting to protect what you care about.

Gods and powerful humans fighting together. Large swords, power-ups, 2 different levels (in Bleach it's bankai, but it's just level 2 in Ueki). Both protagonists get powerful much quicker than normal through hard work and sheer will. If you like Bleach, I'm sure you'll like Ueki also :)
