Both of them have few favourite Bones features, which they applied to almost all of their original works:

- a mysterious girl with unique abilities, which is somewhat apathetic towards her life;
- a special crew of few members which accept our main (or not so main) hero and he starts to learn about their past and ways of living;
- a Green Peace scent - let's save the nature and all the people, though in Xam'd it's not as strong as in Eureka;
- a teh genki brown-hair shounen, destined to save the Earth from some great disaster;
- lots of support characters which don't hesitate to make appearance even more often than main ones etc.

Airspace, adventure, action and a great base story. Characters show similarity, being on a 'neutral' airship doing 'odd-'job(s) to make a living. Sound, visual and the scenery are in both anime's stunning. While Eureka Seven has more episodes, sidestories, Xam'd seems to be sticking to the storyline. But both are awesome to watch, taking you on a great adventure.

Bones, the producers of Eureka seven (aired 2005-2006) made another great anime: Bonen no Xamdou (aired 2008-2009)

(if you liked eureka seven then you might even be more hyped about this anime.)

- Both animes got some wonderful characters with some great depth
- The fantastic sound and music in both shows makes the experience watching these shows wonderful
- The story in both animes is probably what will catch your interest the most though! Sci-fi Action Adventures can't go wrong honestly ... hah 
- Oh and ofc ... The animation is amazing, nuf said! 

You'll find some big similarities between the shows, but i wont tell you what, since you'll notice them yourself when you will start watching. However.. They are very much alike ! ;)

Xam'd feels like a re-envisioning of Eureka Seven. Just like Eureka Seven, it has a motley crew aboard aircraft/airship zipping around here and there with some awesome mecha action thrown in. So if your ever looking for something similar, give Xam'd a shot.

Both of the main male roles are supported by a group of interesting characters who've got their own flying ship. Both have strong mecha themes, and both Renton and Akiyuki have to mature in order to survive. Both animes start focusing around the every day guy's life and develop from there. Xam'd and Eureka 7 both have protagonists resisting the military.

So... these have pretty similar themes, styles, and whatnot (same makers, after all), and the plots could also be called similar, what with a dumb guy who happens to land on a cool airship with a crazy crew and a strange girl with short colored hair that has jewelery adorning a right strand of her hair, and then they fly around having to battle ancient evils and conspiracies and crap like that.

The art style and plot are so similar it is eerie, but I feel like Xam'd being shorter was really nice in that I still got a lot of character development. There was a nice ethnic diversity in the characters, which I really appreciated as well.

Similar in telling a story that ends up on a much larger scale than it started! However, whereas E7 has a larger storyline (and twice the time to develop it) Xam'd is darker and more dramatic.

I got the same feeling watching both. 
Both stories have a main character getting away from his home on a Ship for different reason after meeting another important character. To survive. To Follow someone. To make their life something more. Doesn't matter. Both Character, non really knowing what is happening at first start to slowly get it and pretty much 'Make' the Ending happen the way it does by becoming character with a important impact on other character and on the story.
Both are good show really entertaining. 

Don't expect some Mecha in Xam'd tho you won't find any.

Both series contains sci fi theme as well as very similar character designs considering the same studios are involved. 

Both series also contain interesting cast of characters and rather similar setting with technology beyond our modern world age. 

Both series contain action, sci fi, drama, some comedy, tragedy, and even romance. Both series' main protagonist also has their lives completely turned upside down after strange events in the pilot episode.

Xam'd : Lost Memories is very similar to Eureka Seven , first it's the same studio who produced the two series , which is studio BONES . That's why it has the same art (thanks to Ayumi Kurashima )

The heroes are two teenager who following an incident finds themselves transported into an airship. On board a commander who dictates orders,  and a crew who will laugh at them before they become one of them .
And in the two series the plot revolves around love ...

Yes it's exactly the same ...

We could even say that the stories are taking place in the same world .

In conclusion , two EXCELLENT series who will fascinate you by their story and originality .

Both shows start with very similar premises. Akiyuki and Renton are very similar characters that start out kinda useless but grow as the event's in the story unfold. Both shows balance Action/Romance pretty well.

Honestly the many aspects of this show are extremely similar to Eureka Seven yet different. Both use Mechs that either are or used to be a living being and it is these beings that possess an overwhelming amount of power, but of course they aren't full understood yet. The Main characters Akiyuki (Xam'd) and Renton (Eureka Seven) both have fathers who are well known among the military personnel. They are strong willed yet not sure how to interact with their new family. Especially when it comes to the girl they love. Our main Heroines Eureka and Nakiami are the only people who see the machines as living beings and have some sort of personal connection to them. There are people who are resisting the military who do understand that these are beings to be respected and left alone.  Honestly once you watch it you'll be hooked.   read more

The same studio worked on Xamdou so the animation is just as gorgeous. More than that, both are written splendidly, with good world building and character development while avoiding all that filler a lot of other shows fall victim to. Eureka seven has a colorful and abstract world, with characters that have been through a lot that needs to be unpacked- Xamdou thrusts you into a colorful world in the thrusts of a very alien war, bringing you along with characters that grow and attach themselves into your heart. I cannot recommend either of these series enough, if you like Eureka Seven you should really do yourself a favor and try out Xamdou. read more

Eureka Seven takes many MANY things from Evangelion, such as characters (i.e: Rei Ayanami = Eureka), use of mecha, some things from the plot, etc. Sometimes when I was watching Eureka 7 I felt i was wachting eva, altough Eureka is not as sad or phsicological as Evangelion.

Both main characters are boys. Both go through things that make them go through developement. Theres plenty of Mecha battles and drama in both of them and both can get psychological at times. Also, in both NGE and E7 the mechs make up a lot of the mysteries in the plots.

Few anime series can compare to the masterpiece that is Evangelion, but if you are looking for something similar then Eureka Seven is more than likely a series you'll enjoy.  Both stories' central focus is around a young male and his search for belonging, as he's thrown into the midst of a giant conflict.  Giant mechs, young love, and large casts to boot, these two series are both quite similar to each other in a number of ways.  Spoilers and synopses aren't my type, so ultimately I'll leave it for you to decide.  Eureka Seven certainly isn't as timeless as Eva, but it's one of the better series one could compare it to and it still does a great job of keeping its audience captivated up until the final curtain falls. read more

Both are about young boys that live in the shadow of a great catastrophe caused by their father.  As such, they have "daddy issues" but both boys get a father figure mid-series that helps them grow.  Both have humanoid biological robots, both have a kuudere blue haired girl pilot that's around before the protagonist shows up and has a special connection with her robot.  She serves as the main's love interest.  Both series also have another pilot girl who is a little crazy, but really just had a terrible upbringing and doesn't know how to love.  Both have a theme of the villain wanting to connect the consciousness of all humanity, both have an Earth that's undergone drastic climatic changes, both have the protagonist's robot upgrading to become more humanlike. Eureka 7 borrows some elements from Evangelion. Eureka is clearly a tribute/copy of Rei and the Nivash and TheEnd both have "souls" much like the Evangelions.

I think everyone sees this. I was certain watching the first episode that Renton was a parody of Shinji. I think he's more of a reconstruction-taking all the things that make Shinji bad and using them to give the hero Renton becomes some powerful meaning. Themes of isolation, conflict with other species and nature, poor communication, and broken families, plus uncomfortable undertones of sexual exploitation as a marker of humanity's innate problems, are shared here. There's also the shared theme of madness, but hey, this is anime.

Both are story driven, though Eureka Seven is not as psychological as Neon Genesis Evangelion. Both are appealing even if you're not into mecha anime. Both have a bit of a love story though Eureka Seven is driven by the love story.

Most importantly, these are gems that should not be missed.

The mystery, mecha, and action are hard to deny in both series. Not to mention, romance as well. Both series also have emotional awkward children piloting giant mechs and creating their destiny. Their destiny are what leads to them to become what they eventually strive to achieve. 

A classic mecha series for any fans who is interested.

During a conference in 2010, Dai Satō (writer of Eureka Seven) claimed that a lot of fans dismissed Eureka Seven as a clone of Neon Genesis Evangelion without even watching it.

It's true that both anime involve mostly psychological introspection of the characters and mecha fights, but there's so much more to Eureka Seven that people don't often talk about, and it's definitely worth discovering. Great soundtrack, natural design, touching themes (among which, true love) and mesmerizing plot are just a little taste of the whole world that Eureka Seven has to offer the spectator.

I'm only making this comparison simply because 1: They are pretty much staple to watch if you're first getting around to watching anime in general, and 2: watching E7 right after Evangelion won't leave you feeling destitute, since Eva is very diverse from everything else I've watched so far.

Similarities:
+ Dark mecha series which give off similar feelings (though NGE is much more consistently dramatic)
+ The mechs are not very normal and are more like humans in some ways even to the point where they bleed and react to human emotions
+ The characters are very similar (Renton, Eureka, Anemone, Talho, and Holland in Eureka 7 are similar to Shinji, Rei, Asuka, Misato, and Gendo in NGE respectively)
+ Characters have psychological breakdowns and the main character has to decide whether to leave or stay

Both anime have very similar characters and similar events in the plot. I actually think Eureka was based off of Rei, they are both teenage girls with blue hair and rarely express emotion in the beginning. Of course, both shows feature mechs that the main characters have to pilot.

Eureka 7 is almost literally Evangelion on surfboards. Don't get me wrong, a lot of things are pre-established tropes, especially within the mecha genre, but with E7 it's almost always Eva. Stuff like the alien/robot girl, the living mech, that's normal. But E7 crosses the line with this shit.

>Occasionally, an LFO will be headshot; this will be viewed from the side, with the LFO's black silhouette against a white background. Half a measure will pass, and blood will begin to cartoonishly spray out, a la UNIT01 in her fight with Zeruel.
>In one episode, Renton faces something dark that he had been putting off for a long time. When first confronted with it, however, the cockpit shot zooms in on Renton's face, where his hands are grasping, pulling the skin back. For dramatic effect, Renton's face is viewed through a fish-eye lens, and is highly detailed. He also screams as the camera cuts away, but that always happens, Eva or not. This scene's cockpit perspective almost looks like a shot-for-shot redraw of the beginning of Third Impact in End of Evangelion.
>The series features a light supernatural overtone with heavy sci-fi influence: There's magic, but it's special when it happens. Most things can be explained by science (internally, at least), but there is an ominous feeling of the supernatural even when everything "makes sense."
>Renton is an unlikable bitch that was just like you at 14. Okay, that one doesn't count, that's way too common.
>The villain's primary goal is achieved through the protagonists, but it ends up being a good thing because whatever who cares. Unlike in NGE, where the shadowy goals of SEELE are ambiguous and unclear (with Instrumentality being morally questiobable), Dewey's plans of destroying reality end up being a unanimously agreed good thing. Third Impact involves a giant red orb in both cases. Lewd ensues.

I know that's only three points, but as you watch there's a certain feeling that begins to overtake you as you watch, and it gets painful to continue in parts. If you haven't seen Evangelion, watch E7 first. read more

Think of NGE as the angst ridden older sibling of E7. They are both mecha anime involving a somewhat pessimistic and introverted protagonist (Shinji more so than Renton), biological mecha and a girl with seemingly no emotions. However, Eureka Seven has a relatively upbeat tone and likeable characters as well as a sweet and happy ending, Neon Genesis is very dark in tone with disturbed and emotionally broken characters as well as a confusing and depressing ending. I would highly recommend both shows

Both feature mechas, and Eureka Seven was obviously heavily inspired by Evangelion, taking several key elements regarding mechas from the latter. As stated by a couple of the prior recommendations, both Rei from Evangelion and Eureka initially bear some similarities, mostly their non-responsiveness that leads to some awkward situations. Both also feature a main male protagonist that many consider "annoying". There are some key differences though: Evangelion has a noticeably darker tone, deeply focuses on psychology and the issue of mental illness, while Eureka Seven by stark contrast focuses on romanticism, wonder, naive teenage love, and familial bonds, and is very upbeat in tone.

Both Tengen Toppen Gurren Laggann and Eureka 7 revolve around small, young male leads coming of age in a world they don't quite feel comfortable with. With the help of their friends, and respective similarly aged love interests, both Simon and Renton find the motivation to better themselves and grow into strong young men. These shows both balance comedy with drama, all the while displaying heavy mecha themes.

Both Gurren Lagann and Eureka Seven center around young boys who are developing into brave young men.  Both series include a strange girl that makes the young hero blush, and characters with similar personalities (i.e. Talho and Yoko, or Holland and Kamina).  They also both have to do with mecha and alternate worlds.  Beings other than humans exist in these worlds.  E7 is the longer series.

Gurren Lagann is similar to Eureka Seven in the use of mech. But thats not all, it shares a similar young protagonist and a mysterious young girl. But at the same time Gurren is nothing like Eureka Seven, in that it is compleat fun insanity at times, and at other times is much more dramatic.

Well..here we are!~ let's start saying that both anime have a main char as a boy that start the whole story with his own power. Both anime have the mecha side as an important part, and the factor 'a world to change'; also the characters group are kinda similar. Another great point that both series have is the Simon+Nia's relationship a lot similar to Renton+Eurka's one. 
For the graphic part: Good char design and pretty nice background design in both anime. And a really interesting story for both. I highly recommend to watch both! Trust me :3

Ok, gurren lagann are super robot inspired and eureka seven are real robot inspired, but these two have much similarities. Starting with protagonist, renton and simon, both are fearfull boys and both makes a lot of misses but in decisives hours, they makes the job. Talho and Yoko, both are the sexl simbol of their animes, strong girls with nice attributes. Nia and Eureka are nothing similar but, Nia/Simon - Eureka/Renton relationship are similar, both are learning from each other. Both main organization (gekkostate and dai gurren dan) are similar too, smart, with a lot of confusion, fight and comedy with your members. And for finish, you probaly gets the same feeling watchting both.

Conclusion: Both are nice animes, if you watch one, watch the other. Eureka Seven And Gurren Lagann are masterpieces. read more

Both Simon and Renton are boys with normal lifes,but suddenly Simon comes up to surface,and Renton joins the Geko State.They both become stronger,and in the end they have to fight,to save the world.
Tengen Toppa is more epic,and have a bit more humor in it.
But Eureka Seven has more romance.

In fact I never thought that Gurren Lagann would bring the same feeling as Eureka when I just started watchung it. But after all they have a lot of common traits. Let's see:

Mecha. Mechas are everywhere, they are battle machines controlled by human, but there ought to be a special one that can be controlled only be whom? Right, main character.
Main male characters in both anime evolve during the series. They start as scared boys and grow up as courageous men.
Main female characters are somehow connected with alien race and bound to the main hero.
And after all they are global. The stories bedin in some small city or village and then spread all over the whole world.
And the last point is that both cannot leave you indifferent for sure! read more

Both are absurd, over-the-top, DBZ-style mecha, yet they are also deceptively deep. E7 features much more romance than TTGL, while TTGL has more focus on adrenaline, but both deal with 14 year old boys who learn how to be men by taking on the mission of saving the world, and having to deal with life's tough situations.

Both Gurren Lagann and Eureka Seven revolve around two somewhat wimpy protagonists (Simon and Renton).  The two ultimately become involved with a whirlwind of events regarding the fate of the world, drastically changing the average pace of their lives.  Both protagonists join their respective teams (though in Gurren Lagann the team forms as the story progresses), which both serve to oppose the antagonist forces in some way and endure a variety of experiences, happy and tragic, that serve to develop them extensively as the story progresses.  Simon and Renton have love interests that, while quite different personality wise, can both be considered naive about certain aspects of human life and are both a far cry from typical humans for reasons revealed throughout the stories.  Both series utilize mecha as a means to carry out the storyline throughout, with intense battles in which the protagonists require intense willpower to ensure victory.

There are, however, some distinct differences.  Gurren Lagann is a much more over the top, action based story that retains a simple yet effective plot.  Eureka Seven focuses more on the drama and romance aspects with a more developed (and longer) story.  Gurren Lagann is categorized as super robot, while Eureka Seven is real robot, meaning drastically different mecha designs as well as the fact that Gurren Lagann has much more high-scale and explosive type action by comparison.  The settings are also quite different, as Eureka Seven has a more sci-fi and futuristic feel, at least until Gurren Lagann reaches the second half.  Aside from the major characters, Gurren Lagann and Eureka Seven have very different casts, especially with the antagonists and side characters.

All in all, both are great stories and if you like one then the other should be very enjoyable as well. read more

A teenage boy main character that starts off weak but eventually becomes stronger a long the way with his love interest. The planets that the shows take place in are mostly a wasteland with very little life. The mecha's in both shows evolve to become even stronger.

The rebelling group, started first out as fun people, then became serious as the story went on.  The Authority is protect the world but not the people.  There is mecha, there is duo who control the main mecha.  Renton, and Eureka kinda seem like Simon and Nia only R&E seem to have more love then S&N.  Nia looks alot like Eureka, too.
It even has Johnny Yong Bosch, voice of Renton, but in Gurren Lagann, he isnt the main character, but he is the second secondary pilot of the Main Mecha.

Both of these wonderful anime are about a boy who is living in a cycle where it's the same thing every day and nothing changes. Then, a girl appears in their lives, and everything goes downhill from there. Both Eureka Seven and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann are also mecha and bery entertaining! AND, Renton and Simon (the main characters of these series) are both 14 and aid in a revolution to change the world in which they live for the better! I highly reccomend Eureka Seven to any Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann fan!

Both anime have fantastic mecha designs although Gurren Lagann has more extreme fight scenes; also both share a rather deep plot with interesting twists which will leave you surprised!

Yong boy protagonist led by a hot headed bad-ass leader! Evil alien race with a plot to suppress humanity! A love interest with a secret past! These are some of the thing these 2 anime have in common. The only major difference between Eureka Seven and Gurren Lagann are the emotions you feel while watching them. Gurren Lagan has a more FTW!! happy approach while Eureka Seven is a little more sad and logical. They have a very similar story, but have different tones. Its up to you to decide if you can like both The Gecko State and Die Gurren.

Eureka Seven is a fulfilling coming-of-age adventure packed nicely in a well paced 50 episode piece. It’s a show in the midst of a war between the government and an ex-military crew made up of a rag-tag group of artists, photographers, journalist, dancers, music heads, and wave-surfers, who aim to liberate the world on alien knowledge and to eradicate the fear that was spread by said government. There’s love, death, and music references galore and it’s one of the main components that rocketed my lust for anime knowledge. Nia and Eureka are both special in their own way.
Their personalities are similar and trust the MCs.
Similar kind of plot involving different beings and a journey to save the world.
They are both in the future.
Both series are almost the same but Eureka Seven has a deeper plot in my opinion and has much more romance than TTGL.

Premise wise, both are pretty similar. Both star a main character that are pretty depressed about their current situation and want a sort of freedom. Both shows include the appearance of a colorful, mysterious girl who appears to the main character unexpectedly in the first episode, seeming to offer and escape from the main character’s unwanted current situation (manic pixie dream girl). Both female characters have a questionable humanity, and are hinted to be potential alien/alien-human hybrids. Both story’s central conflict are about fighting back against some sort of mysterious, unknown alien life forms. Both shows focus on the main couple who only through piloting a mecha together can they unlock their full potential. Eureka Seven focuses more on the innocence/coming of age aspect of the main couple’s relationship, while DitF seems to circumvent that(as of episode 3). 

Also, the main girl from DinF, 02, is very similar to Anemone from Eureka Seven. Both have a pink color palette, and act kind of crazy. Both are potentially dangerous to anyone who works with them(Hiro in DinF, Dominic in E7). I feel like Hiro and 02 are pretty similar visually to Anemone and Dominic.  read more

Both are mecha shows set in the far future with an emphasis on the main characters connection, bond, and romance each share. Both go through trails and phases that test each other's devotion to not only the romance aspect but the interactions with other individuals close to them.

This series is so Similar to this in many ways.
-First whole Non-human girl and Human guy relationship. 
-Second, the way the girl is gaining confidence and acceptance about her being different while they guy starts out with not much of a backbone but starts to gain confidence as well. 
-third how they both need each other to polite the Mecha effectively. 
The characters themselves remind me of Eureka 7s:
Hiro - Basically is Renton but more emo lol
Zero Two - Shes Eureka but with more of Anemones personality
Ichigo - Basically the gender-flipped holland lol

They are almost essentially the same when it comes to it romances and Evangelion inspired framework. Although Eureka Seven is leagues better than Franxx.

In both stories, there is a boy who is kinda a wuss but destined for something great and there is a girl who is a "no non-sense ace pilot that have a shady background with a certain organization and whose humanity is also questionable (half alienoni)". Both character are strongly attracted to each other, and together they go to pilot the "awesome transforming-mech thing capable of one-shotting all their enemies without much effort but requires two pilots to operates". 
The two main characters lived in a post apocalyptic world where military order is absolute.

Both series share a common theme; there is a boy who can be a wet-blanket and a crybaby sometimes, and a girl who is only half-human. They team up to pilot a transforming mech into battle against monstrous threats in a post-apocalyptic world.

Eureka Seven is basically everything Darling in the FranXX tried to be, but executed with much more finesse and without the overbearing focus on sexual metaphors. Features a coming of age story involving a boy falling in love with a not-so-human girl, the struggles of said couple finding their place in life, and flashy mecha battles (except this time the mechs surfboard).

I recall watching one of the early episodes of Darling in the FranXX and thinking to myself that it "gave me a similar vibe" to Eureka Seven.  These two shows are extremely similar when it comes to their respective premises. For example, both shows are mecha anime that place a major focus on the romance between a human boy and a girl who is (at least partially) alien/non-human.
However, the main female leads are opposites in personality: Eureka is very stoic and subdued and her relationship with Renton takes some time to develop into romance whereas Zero Two displays her emotions openly and is a lot more teasing and forward with Hiro from the start. 
If you liked either Darling in the FranXX or Eureka Seven, I recommend giving the other a shot if you haven't already. read more

For the newer anime fans, who have watched Darling in the Franxx. if you want something similar and in my opinion WAY BETTER, you should definitely give Eureka Seven a watch, and Eureka Seven only, do not watch Eureka AO, but you can watch the movies after the original series by studio Bones. Both are a Mecha Drama anime with a fantastic romance story to go along with the overarching plot along with both having an alien girl involved in the romance, being Eureka and 02. Overall if you have seen one you must watch the other. Eureka Seven is by far the better show but I digress. read more

1- Its a underground group who tries to change the world who is about to its ends. Apparently.
2- The main character begins expecting for a ''life change''. He's bored of living the same life and blablabla. Then a certain guy pops up and offers him to join his underground group and start doing missions and, you know the common things. 
3- The owner of this group, is respected by everyone and no one dares to dissapoint him. No one.
4- Both main character get slapped by the group's owner for being so childish and stupid. Yes.
5- After a few episodes you're starting to notice the main character less coward and doing shit to surprise people. 
6- Both main character fall in love with a girl more powerfull than they are.
7- The group's owner go all like ''So you choosed him'' when the chick picks the main character over them.
8- They kiss the bitch they stupidity fall in love.
9- The place where they live is also taken by someone else power. 
10- Theres this guy who's crazy about owning the world. And this is my favorite character.

when we talk about these two animes especially , No one can deny that they are similar to each other
the main character is a boy (renton, shu ) who has no thing special in his live ,this changes when he meet a girl ( Eureka, Enory ) and fall in love .then the two decide to go and fight with them . the two Animes has big robots ( mecha ) and they fight against their country army ( evil) . I really find these two animes very alike and very wonderful !

Both main protagonists in Guilty Crown and Eureka Seven live seemingly meaningless lives until they meet a girl that changes their fate forever. Their bonds are strengthened as the shows progresses and go through many endeavors with a group of close friends.

Male main characters both suck in the beginning. Are unbearable to watch at times.  However, as they progress, they get stronger.Also, both of their sisters disappear. Female main character are the same, non-human, but romantically involved with the male main character. Basically in my eyes Guilty Crown is almost like a dark spinoff to Eureka Seven

+ Both are set in worlds where the military is overwhelming and abusive of their power
+ Lots of drama and similar characters
+ Especially for the main trio (Renton, Eureka, and Holland in Eureka 7 and Shu, Inori, and Gai) the relationship is almost identical

Differences:
- Eureka 7 has more of a focus on mechs while Guilty Crown focuses more on the drama involved with the military versus the rebels
- Guilty Crown involves more high school age characters as well as a bit of a school genre

Both anime have strong undeveloped male leads who live in the shadow of a bigger and more respected alpha male. Also the protagonists join their organizations for the sake of a crush on female lead, and are then used for the special abilitys that they posses. 

The character development, unpredictable plot, and strong character connection is why you should watch these two. These will make you cry.

Both the male leads, Renton Thurston and Ouma Shuu, meet a beautiful stranger girl, Eureka and Inori Yuziriha, out of the blue and this paves their entry into a rebellion organization, the Gekkostate in Eureka Seven and Funeral Parlor in Guilty Crown
Similarly, in both the series, a corrupted government rules after an event which lays out the basis for the series, such as the 'Lost Christmas' in Guilty Crown.
Both the female leads have had harsh pasts, Eureka in particular.
Holland Novak is very similar to Gai Tsutsugami, especially in creating an uneasy environment for the male leads, and are in fact the leaders of their respective organizations. 
Both the series involve Drama, Romance and Sci-Fi. Eureka Seven is more of a mecha anime though whereas Guilty Crown involves Supernatural genre. 
A secondary relationship between other major characters is built up as the series goes on, though Eureka Seven clearly is the better among the two in this.

          Overall, both are well done, unique animes with a nice style to them that anyone can enjoy if they don't have a stick up their butt.

          Even though many people dislike Mecha animes, both of these seem to be loved by all including the Mecha haters. Both animes have interesting characters, plots (although Eureka 7 is rather confusing at the start) and awesome giant robots. Their stories are not similar but this just makes watching them a whole new enjoyable experience.

Both shows have a  young  boy who is placed with powers that he is unsure of. The Goverment is keeping both of the young men back as they try to take over the world.   Eureka Seven will give you the deeper conation to the supporting cast  other that just the main cast.

Both Code Geass and Eureka Seven involve mecha and fighting. Although Eureka Seven has a bit lighter of a feel to it, both have intense moments, as well as comedy and romance. =)

Both are mecha and have a dark tone. Eureka Seven is slower and a little less dark than Code Geass, but the story and action are great. The character development is excellent and has you really hoping the two MC's succeed.

let's see...the english dubs of both Code Geass and Eureka Serven  contain  the same line of cast. but that's not all..the main character in both animes is voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch yep both Lelouch and Renton voiced by the same American voice actor...both eureka seven and code geass have the first opening theme song played by the same band   Flow...both of these anime are psychological/philosophical mecha theme series that are very vibrant in color!...eureka seven and code geass are  very colorful  in the midst of all the mecha fights and psychological and political bullshit....also the special emotionless girls (Eureka and C.C. ) who each respective main character connects with in both series have green hair (each having some shade of green in their hair) read more

Eureka Seven like Code Geass shows an amazing relationship between two characters, and although there is a decent age difference between Lelouche & Cc's relationship and Eureka & Renton's relationship it is done just as well if not better. E7 is also a mech animeand the mech battles don't disappoint showing intense vibrant colours and beautiful animation. It's definitely worth a watch if your into the mech / action / romance genres.

Both these series has a genuin story, characters you really learn to like and they are flying in both series. Both main characters want to protect those who are close to them, and they both have a female flying with them. There are a huge storm in both series that they have to get through.

Both series are great, and you should take your time watching them both.

They're soo similar it's scary.  The overall themes match, with both deal w/ character interactions with the world around them.  And in both, the setting is almost like a character in and of itself.  And of course, a heavy focus on flying. Eureka Seven is more futuristic, while Last Exile is more steampunk.  Both are great series and if you liked one... odds are high that you'll like the other.

Both are excellent series with a focus on flight, and involve the main character(s) joining a rogue aircraft with a brooding leader and a likeable crew. In Eureka Seven the technology is more futuristic, while in Last Exile it's a steampunk-influenced combination of old and new.

These two anime are very similar, although their overall "feel"are somewhat different.
Renton and Klaus are two similar characters both in character and in they're abilities in flying craft.

Both anime deal with flying craft with Eureka seven having a more futuristic design and Last Exile one more 18/19th century / fantastical design.

Anyway, if you like one of them, you will defintaly not be dissapointed by the other.

Though both involve flying, it's in a very different way. Last Exile is very steampunk, while Eureka Seven has a cleaner, more futuristic feel. However, they're still very similar. Alex Rowe and Holland would either be best friends or kill each other. But the crew of the Silvana and the members of Gekkostate would definitely get along. And, unfortunately, they both have very vague (but epic) endings. The only main difference is that Last Exile lacks the romantic story Eureka Seven has.

Both Last Exile and Eureka Seven share adventure and sci-fi genre.
Still, both have a plot evolving around flying ships, war and interesting characters.
Klaus (for Last Exile) and Renton (for Eureka Seven) have to protect whose dear to them and will do it through the whole story.
A note to mention is also the good cast of seiyuus and very good art which both series have. Additionally, Last Exile has a quite nice ost.

As a difference instead, Eureka has a more futuristic technology while Last Exile shows an "oldish" technology on the style of 19th centuary.

For sure if you liked one of those, you'll probably enjoy the other as well! read more

Both actually same series in different set-up. l'm pointing out some of similarities. (contains some minor Spoilers)
* Both Main characters are duo pair pilots & they both have a female flying with them.
* Both series taking place in the sky & both MC living in a floating ship. 
* Both ships has a charismatic captain & both have a sad past & they mark as a outlaw & they fighting against world govt. 
* Both protagonist takes care one/many child.
* Both world have a mysterious stormy place.
* Both captains worked under both protagonist's father & both captain hide the fact from both protagonist.

Both shows are about pilots of a unique aeroplane in their universe. 
In Eureka Seven, it's LFO and in Last Exile, it's vanship.
Also, both MC pairings join a badass ex-military gang and live in an airship.

Both Eureka 7 and Suisei no Gargantia feature unique sci-fi worlds that have similarities but fundamental differences. At their core, there are robots involved, a rather large cast of characters, and a beautiful world filled with secrets. Essentially, there is a sense of adventuring, of growing up, of dealing with a harsh world and searching for one's identity. Eureka 7 paints a fuller world with its length which is something Gargantia could've done better, but if you liked one, you're bound to at least be interested in the other. Highly recommended for sci-fi fans.

In both series, a main protagonist gets involved with a mysterious character after a certain incident. In Eureka Seven, it's Eureka. in Suisei no Gargantina, that mysterious character is Ledo. These two characters have trouble communicating with others or understanding others' feelings. However with the help of their new friend, they are able to understand the world a bit better.

There is mecha/science fiction themes present in both series. In fact, the mysterious character present relies on them and treats it as somewhat of a friend.

The backgrounds of both series also feels somewhat similar; giving off that science fiction outlook.

Both include mechs, and a character that isn't exactly human. Ledo is similar to Eureka at the beginning of the series, he has no attachments to life, nor human feelings. He is however a human, but not entirely. It looks like they are created not born. It's a definitely a good watch.

Now both involve moving to a "new" planet due too the original being inhabitable and using giant robots to fight their enemies. As well as having the main protagonist being slightly emotionless. All in all slightly similar story and I feel if you enjoyed eureka 7 you would enjoy this.

The protagonist of both these shows is a young boy.  They're introduced to a rebel group, a group seeking to oppose the government/system controlling them.  There is also a similar art style as well as setting with the plains being the large surrounding setting.

Fractale has a striking similarity to Eureka Seven in many ways.

 The first big thing I noted, was the world in which both anime took place, had a similar, peaceful, post apocalyptic feel to them. Although in E7, the world seems to be more vibrant and technology driven, as there is no mecha in this anime. The people of the world of Fractale are nomads, which is the main difference.

Another big resemblance is the plot. It runs around the same lines, although much shorter, it still feels very similar. 

Finally, the romance between the two main characters, while it was way stronger between Renton and Eureka, is still there, and in the end, is heart warming.

Do not watch this if you are looking for something as good as E7, as there isn't really anything out there that is as good. Do watch this if you enjoyed E7, and want something that isn't as serious, or just want something that will help you "get over" E7 in a short amount of time. read more

Idk dude.. The vibes, characters, stupid plot. All pretty similar. If you like one you'll like the other. They're both as good as each other, I enjoyed them both despite them being stupidly flawed. The strength in both shows are the characters and their development throughout the series.

Essentially... if you enjoy Eureka seven despite it's flaws then you'll enjoy this too. Ignore the hate Fractle gets. Despite what people say, it's pretty much on par with Eureka seven in every regard. Just a shame it stopped at 11 episodes.

this show takes place in the sky and land, but Eureka Seven took place on land first then took it into the sky and Elemental Gelade is the other way around. They both have that romance between man and something/woman.

Put it in a nutshell, Mars Daybreak (MD) is a rough sketch of all Bones' anime features. And Eureka is a linear heir of MD. So they share lots of elements - a crew fighting against regime, an high-tech awesome ship (that thing did fly even though it's a submarine), mecha, teh genki shounen with brown hair, aliens and other stuff including graphics, orphans and a Green Peace spirit.

Both Start with a organization sought by the government (Gekkostate in Eureka Seven, Vultures in Gundam X) who try protect some special person/species (Coralians in Eureka Sevan, Newtypes in Gundam X). Progatonist, some secundary characters (renton = garrod, eureka = tiffa, talho = Toniya and Mischa = Techs) and your relationship are similar (GarrodxTiffa and RentonxEureka).

Gundam X can almost be considered as the anime that influenced several plot aspects of Eureka 7. Garrod and Renton are very similar in the fact that they both join up with a group of individuals on a ship in order to protect a mysterious girl they immediately fall for (ie Eureka and Tiffa).

Both feature stories where a teenage boy is swept up into joining a rogue group, piloting an exceptionally powerful mecha, struggling with finding his place in his new home, and falling in love with an emotionally distant girl along the way. 

The characters Jamil and Holland are very similar, both in their positions in the group, and relationships with and attitudes towards Tiffa and Eureka respectively.

Both protagonists are on a quest to save the world. The character development and pacing is exactly the same in both. Both series are the same length. Both leave similar feels when in your mind when finished. The cultural/ethnic differences in people has similar detail. Extremely similar animation. Both developed by BONES. Both shows follow a similar format, which makes sense as they are both shounen with similar length. FMAB and E7 both contain similar themes and similar tension as the show progresses. While the shows may be in completely different worlds, you get the same feeling from the characters and from the story. I do not recommend this if you are looking for strictly mecha shows or strictly fantasy world/alchemy, as you will be disappointed. Both are among the greatest shounens and both are developed by Bones.

Both of these series have a main character who were left behind of their fathers and who are friends with people who have participated in a mass genocide. FMAB and Eureka Seven also have the similiarity with roles of supporting characters. Eureka Seven in my eyes reminded of several different anime but it has it's own unique family friendly flavor to it. (As does Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood) It's a very nostalgic show for many and just a overall amazing anime to others. It does have it's quirks but, no matter why you watch it, I know you'll probably enjoy it!

The Director of Eureka 7 (Tomoki Kyoda) was also involved as Assistant Director for Rahxephon, and both series share a lot in common. Rahxephon, like Eureka 7, is also a "character-driven" mecha which I'd highly recommend to anyone who likes a good love story with giant robots thrown in, or a giant robot story with a love story thrown in - take your pick, you win either way.

The protagonist Daichi has a similar background to Renton as they both are young boys who are not satisfied with the current life they lead and want to pursue something they love and feel passionate about. Their fathers are both intertwined in a series of strange circumstances surrounding the causes of their deaths. They also both share a strange connection with a young girl who seems to have special abilities and shrouded with an air of mystery.

Main character Renton (E7) and Daichi (Captain Earth) both come off with the same type of background story. Their fathers both being heroes in their way and dying to become one. Also presumably they both meet aliens Eureka/ Coralian (E7) and my guess for Captain Earth is that both Teppei and the Brown-haired girl are alien as well. Bones!

Other than the similar colour schemes between the Earth Engine and the Nirvash Type 0, both of these shows have several easy parallels that you can make. If you liked the mech designs from either shows, the following one could indeed tickle your fancy.

Both have the story of a boy wanting to become hero after following the death of their father having being branded a hero.

Both have a really similar atmospheric feel to them which is : Living in Summer.

Both are Studio Bones Mecha, so it definitely will look amazing art and animation wise.

Both have really similar romance plotlines of star crossed lovers who are meant to be with each other.

Like any other mecha shows, its about the coming of age of a young boy. These two shows differ from the norm by having a more boyish type of characters instead of being melodramatic or being The Master.

Both of these shows have similar themes of Family and Trusting each other. Which show did it better? It is up for you to decide :)

The tonality of both of these shows are similar. They have a slice of life and living the life of a boy doing boyish things aspects to them. 

These two shows differ as Eureka Seven is a 50 episodes show about a boy who grows up, falls in love and discovers the reality of life whether it be politics, war, refugees and human disgusting-ness, whereas Captain Earth is a 25 episodes show about a boy who discovers friendship and family, while taking responsibility in life.

These two stories are similar coming of age tales, both featuring boys / young men thrown into a world much larger than anything they are used to. Amuro Ray and Renton also both have brilliant scientist fathers, and while the family dynamics are different, they both become pilots of a very poweful giant robot. They also join a state of the art ship piloted by a ragtag crew. The love interest (Eureka 7 -- Eureka) and (MSGundam -- Lalah, Sayla) is mysterious and holds sway over Amuro / Renton. Although MSG is much older than Eureka Seven (20+ years), the similarities in the main plot elements should provide a similar, but completely unique and enjoyable viewing experience. read more

Apart from both series featuring awesome flying surfboards and SEELE-like shadow organizations, the main pairs of characters between the two series share similar relationships to each other and to the overall course of the series. Both Eureka Seven and Flip Flappers are well-crafted love stories in which the trope of "love saves the world" is brought out to full effect as the young lovers of each series learn to understand and bring out the best in each other. In this parallel, I would further note that Eureka and Papika share a similar situation in which their backstory with the leaders of the main organization (Gekkostate in Eureka Seven, and Flip Flap in Flip Flappers) is the basis of their initial relationship with Renton and Cocona respectively, which is then allowed to organically develop throughout the course of each series. read more

Both E7 and Shippuden feature  a world of war  wars between conflicting factions. And a boy with some hippie-ish sort of anti war personification  and just wants to be a peace maker and see everyone get along...both MC's want to protect someone they care about though one romantic and the other platonic (for obvious reasons).. renton's fighting to protect his crush much like naruto trying to keep his best friend alive   and just like in sasuke's case,  eureka also has people who want her dead. Like Naruto, Renton just wants everybody to get along.  also to remember   Eureka who falls in love with the MC is voiced by the same girl who loves Naruto .. Stephanie Sheh  is their voice actress (well at least in the english dubs of both shows)..  also to add in the english dub of the naruto franchise and Eureka Seven franchise, a majority of characters on each show have the same  voice cast..   read more

Eureka Seven  is like a more happier lighthearted version of Elfen Lied  
this is the list of  the similarities that makes Eureka Seven and Elfen Lied compare:
-EL and E7   both   feature a male lead who meets a strange girl  who's humanoid yet not 100% human who he falls in love with..Renton x Eureka the Corallion...   Kouta x Lucy the Diclonius
-both  eureka and lucy     are special humanoid beings  with a dark murderous past.  both of them killed many people in their past including  someone's family   .   they both are burdened with guilt  over it at some point.  
-There's an organization out to kill the girl in each show.  
-Many of the lovable characters are morally ambiguous.      
-in both EL and E7   some circumstance finds the main characters  living with a group of people throughout the show
-Lucy and Eureka both have rivals or a  rival  among each of their own respective race...in the diclonius' case it's Lucy vs. Mariko vs. Nana ....in the Corallion's case Eureka vs. Anemone  who is kinda like both Mariko and Nana  in personality (like Nana  she is supervised by someone . and like Mariko she's playful and pretty savage).  Also to mention  Eureka   and Lucy both have this special ability in each respective way  that  allows  them  to sense when another of their kind is nearby.
-The titles of both series start with the letter "E"
-there's traumatic blood shed..  more in Elfen Lied than in Eureka Seven but it's present in both series. 
 
difference is their is little to no ecchi  in eureka seven       
eureka seven is scifi/mecha/surf themed    while Elfen Lied is  Psychological horror slasher  

The bottomline is, if you   love the Elfen Lied series but at the same time wanna check out   something much more happier and less traumatizing,   and if you also like the mecha genre,  if you wanna see a happy mecha version of Elfen lied,   then Eureka Seven is the series for you

though different themes as one focuses on Martial Arts while the other focuses on Mecha, Aliens and Wars,
i've found  similarities   like easter eggs if ya notice...like Kenichi, Renton is a little shrimp of an MC who is invited by a very attractive female (Miu/Eureka) to  join her group    and like Kenichi he ends up living in some wacky domain (Ryuzanpaku dojo in the Kenichi series/Gekkostate aircraft in E7)  surrounded by a group of wacky characters who are kinda sour to him and take time to receive him well but still nevertheless give off a goofy vibe...the girl Eureka like Miu Furinji starts off dense about  the MC's feelings for her...Kenichi/Renton swears to protect  Miu/Eureka..... both the Kenichi series and Eureka Seven have alot of goofy comedic elements..and both Renton and Kenichi are dorks to add to that hilarity. ...  also both Kenichi the mightiest Disciple (anime only of course) and Eureka Seven are 50 episodes long and both Kenichi the mightiest disciple and Eureka Seven are sort of a hidden gem under the radar on similar levels read more

well story wise not that much. However there are videogames of each and they dont follow the story of the animation. There is mecha, (Prototype in Halo) and there are characters featured in the game, Dr. Halsey in Reach and Moon Doggy, Holland and Eureka in Eureka Seven Game

Eureka 7 and Children of the Whale have completely different story structures and target audience, but despite that I noticed a lot of similarities watching the two.

-To start off, Eureka and Lykos are nearly identical characters. Both are girls with green hair, red eyes, they can't feel emotion at first but slowly develop them as the series goes on. They both started out as soldiers for the antagonist but switch sides.
-Holland and Ouni are also pretty similar as characters. They're both vigilantes who start off incredibly rude, but they latter get injured defending the protagonists.
-There's the psycho with pink hair with a tragic past (Anemone/Liontari).
-Both anime have a bunch of annoying kids hanging around who add very little to the story.
-The whole idea of machines/whale islands have sentient backgrounds was somewhat similar in both.
-Both have brutal scenes of innocents being massacred. 
-While very different, the world building in each is rather unique.

The two series also have plenty of differences, far too many to list here, and I personally enjoyed Eureka 7 a lot more, but if you were attracted to the characters in one show maybe you'd be interested in the other.  read more

On the surface level it does not seem like Eureka 7, an early 2000s mecha anime series, and Weathering with You, a supernatural romance film that came nearly 15 years later, have a lot in common. Despite this I think there are plenty of similarities between the two shows

Starting off with our female protagonist Eureka/Hina
-Both have a supernatural connection to the environment.
-despite their young age both of them are tasked with looking after some (Eureka's 3 orphans and Hina's younger brother).
-Both Hina and Eureka's bodies undergo physical changes as the story processes. These changes start on their left arm and slowly spread to the rest of their body. 
-Both have a symbolic necklace they wear throughout the show. This necklace is broken in the final act.

Moving on to the story & themes, the two's story structures are very different, but there are still some important similarities:
-Both have heavy environmental/political themes.
-the male mc in both (Renton/Hodoka) start off as socially awkward towards their crush but learn to be more confident and caring towards Eureka/Hina at the end.  
-the climax and final act of the two is nearly identical.
-in particular both Renton & Eureka as well as Hina & Hodoka fall from the sky together holding hands.

I'll admit I'm bias as these are two of my favorite anime, and there are a great share of differences, but if you like one the other is worth checking out in my opinion. They gave me the same kind of vibe and I hope they will for you too.  read more

Both stories tell coming of age stories with great costume designs and distinct art styles. While they may initially seem different due to their wildly different genres (Uta~Kata being a magical girl anime and Eureka Seven being a mecha anime), both tie in the elements of their particular genres to help illustrate the main character's developments as they grow and mature, and share a similar progression where the first halves are a little slow and kinda meandering, with a tone that is somewhat lighthearted with an air of something more serious looming around the corner. The second halves of both shows delve right into that and are notably much darker, as well as being when they both become more streamlined and focused. read more

Im surprised this isn't here already-- Girl with blue hair with special powers I got an extremely similar feeling from both animes. Of course wolf's rain is more dark, they are both amazing and deal with finding some different reality.

Buddy Complex addpermalink

I can't say much about Buddy Complex yet as there are only a few episodes that have aired at the moment, but from what I can see of this anime, it gives me a similar atmosphere to Eureka 7. Both anime have mecha and (spoiler alert for Eureka 7) the idea of the future and past. Both amine are set in the future, and have a mysterious girl that comes into the main character's life. The ship in Buddy Complex really reminds of of the Gekkou in Eureka 7, though BC's is blue, while E7's is green. If you enjoy Buddy Complex, I highly recommend that you watch Eureka 7 and vice versa. read more

These are both mecha shows that revolve around a boy who joins a rebel faction. He initially has trouble fitting in but he eventually gets by. They also have green haired love interests.

Both are mecha anime with a romantic pair that are the only ones who can pilot The Mysterious Mecha that all contemporary mechas are derived from. 

One of them is a somewhat clueless going-nowhere youth who is related to someone famous in the mecha circles and has a family member who disappeared researching the truth about the early mechas' origins.

The other one is displaced among normal humans, but has a deep connection with The Mecha which is of special interest to contemporary scientific bodies. Their previous partner didn't work out. Their current partner bears a striking resemblance to their first.

The concept is completely differently but the vibes are similar. The "feel good" factor is in both series.

Log Horizon is an anime where our characters landed in a world that is familiar yet different to them. As such, they spend their time trying to find out the degree of changes that have occurred, and, in the process, building up a fascinating world. Eureka Seven happens in a world quite different from ours, one that's full of mysteries that even our characters, who have lived there for their whole lives, do not understand. Constantly, they have to question what they understand about their world and explore it to a greater degree, which allows world building to take place simultaneously for the audience. 

Both anime also have a large cast of likable characters, focusing on a few while not neglecting the rest. read more

The main characters of both series join and try to fit into a group taking part in illegal and highly dangerous activity. Character development is done through them fiding their place in a team and building relathionships with the members.

Both are, while being over the top in the action scenes, grounded in vibrant and complex universes : they share a sense of realism thanks to the realistic character and color designs, and the setting feels like real, lived-in locations packed with stories and unique characters.

Although appearance wise they may have nothing in common- one about parasytes and the other being a mecha and such, the first thing that came to my mind when finishing Parasyte was Eureka Seven. They have strikingly similar themes. 

They both deal with Earth and nature and the bond between two species. Their endings are pretty similar as well ^^

These anime are both very similar in the way that the male and female protagonist meet and an instant connection forms, and it almost seems they were "destined" to meet. Also, as the story progresses you see the relationship grow stronger. Both anime have a very emotional side to them, which really make you connect to the characters and their actions.

Kidou Senshi Gundam Unicorn addpermalink

Both feature a protagonist with family issues using their overpowered mecha to protect an enigmatic girl who falls out of the sky, getting involved in a war they didn't want and enduring out of the power of love.

Both also explore the reality of throwing children into a battle, and are heavily based around the themes of belonging and family.

Think of Gundam Unicorn as Eureka Seven with better animation, a more directed plot and without the mind-screws.

Both series are set in sci-fi world, but are primarily driven by romance. Despite both of them having faults, they are both pretty transcendental when they're at their best. They both also have lovely and inspired visuals and soundtracks.

There is a romance in both anime and pretty similar Alicia-Welkin and Eureka-Renton. The girls on both series are special. However the male lead is normal.
Both male lead's father is a hero.
Gekkoustate and Squad 7 also pretty same, warm and sometimes crazy.
Both main lead's lost something dear to them too.
Oh and the ending is pretty same, I mean the last episode is really really alike. and how VC and E7 end also have a  similar scene. Hold hand and etc.
Go watch for yourself, if you're a fan of E7 you definitely will loved this series also.

Both Dimension W and Eureka Seven deal with a subplot of different dimensions.  Eureka Seven has a group of Kids adopted by the title character Eureka that seem similar in some ways to the group that hangs around on Dimension W.  Eureka and Renton have issues with family, and the loss of a parent to cope with as they try to find their purpose in life.  There also is the undercurrent of conspiracy in Eureka Seven that adds to its atmosphere, which also feels a lot like some of the background for Dimension W.

both animes have vast storylines with amazing character driven stories. the main grows into himself in both animes while the anime itself shows the problems that other tertiary characters have to deal with. both create a great anime that is fun to watch, blassreiter is a bit more dark and has stronger themes that E7 but both still share alot of similarities

While they may not seem very similiar on the surface, both Eureka Seven and Cowboy Bebop share a common love of 'western' pop culture. Everyone from John Coltrane to the Beastie Boys is either name-dropped or referenced in both series, while character's designs referernce famous characters from English-language film. Both drink deeply from American and British pop culture and have great music too.

I couldn't help but think of Infinite Ryvius while watching Eureka Seven. Although very different shows, the characters, interactions, and development between the two casts are very comparable. Both shows manage to develop a large cast very well, both with younger teen leads. There's also a lot of angst in these shows, but hey, people have issues right? The payoff for both is really incredible.

Both series took the standard mecha genre and pulled a unique spin on it.  Eureka Seven had the mecha sky surf.  Basquash had them play basketball.  Both have a wonderful setting, and great attention to detail.  And both have a character start starts of rather arrogant

Not a big fan of this genre of animé, but Pandora Hearts is pretty god damn addictive, reminded me of Eureka Seven. Both have a male & female protagonists who eventually fall in love ( Eureka & Renton / Oz & Alice ) as well as a mixture of other genres including action, adventure & mystery.

Both Jinki: Extend and and Eureka Seven are "different" takes on the Mecha Anime Genre, but very similar. Both involve "young" pilots of Mechas (Eureka Seven has Renton and Eureka, Jinki: Extend has Aoba, Akao, Elnie etc), and both involve older Mecha Pilots as well (Eureka Seven has  Holland , Matthieu, Hilda, etc. Jinki: Extend has Ryouhei, Genta, Mel J. Vanette , etc). Both shows have Mecha battles very different then other mecha shows (Eureka Seven the mechas fly through the sky on "ref boards" and fight like that[fast paced], while Jinki: Extend is ground based [slower paced then Eureka Seven], but the fighting is different then other mecha shows). Both have two "factions" of groups   with Mecha's  placed up against each other (but it's not "black" verses "white" there is a large grey area in both, not extacty "Good" verses" Evil" but rather "Good guy leader"  verses "bad guy leader" with people who follow them and don't really know everything)and both have intense, heavy  plots that go all over the place, but tie in at the end very nicely. While both shows have very different plots, they still have  similar ideas behind them. If you like  Eureka Seven then watch Jinki: Extend  and vice versa! You will enjoy it! read more

Well the main characters are young and both love similar things which lead them on a grand adventure. Hey mecha anime is cool anyway and both have really good stories and Eureka 7 has some great music in it! Oh and Eureka 7 boasts very nicely designed mecha just like Gundam!

Hmm.... where can I start with this one? Maybe the fact that when I saw a magazine ad for Innocent Venus, Sana reminded me of Eureka. So I went to look up the series, and found out they have the same voice actress! Now besides that, I'd say the design of Sana is somewhat similar to Anemone as far as physical appearance, and Jo is almost an exact copy of Dominique's appearance! Both shows are about a girl that everyone's trying to use for her powers, mechas, and changing/saving the world. Oh yeah, and don't forget the rebel group of pirates. I guess you could say Shiba is similar to Holland, and Hee Jin to Talho, at least as far as personality and position in the show. Anyways, I basically see Innocent Venus as Eureka Seven's sibling who has fewer episodes and isn't as complex and love-y. read more

Reideen may not have the same unique feel to it, and it also may lack the sort of emotional draw of E7, but Reideen features great 3DCG, smooth animation, and plenty of action...

The series is also based on aliens with giant robots fighting against humans with giant robots, although it technically wasn't that simple in E7, it still occurs...

Also, there is a love story between the main character and another girl, although it was blatantly introduced in the first (and only so far) intro, it is very subtle in the series, and has not even come up yet, despite being pretty far in...

Reideen 2007 is a series based on a Classic that I have not seen, so I can't tell you if it's faithful to the original or not...

The series is one of my favorites overall, despite it being hard to get due to its lack of support, it comes out on random dates, and you're lucky if you find it while checking fansub.tv's front page...

The encodes are Decent from Huzzah, and the subbing is pretty good too, just don't expect the best in the world, if you can go RAW, I can't because I don't know Japanese, but it would probably be the best option if you do...

The more i watched dennou coil and eureka seven, the more it reminded me of eachother. the illegals and Coralians seemed so similar. there are even human like ones in dennou coil and eureka seven. Also, the Scub Coral reminded me of the coil domain. i think if you liked dennou coil, you might like eureka seven.

Similar premise: a young new recruit leaves their old life behind to join a team of people living on a small airship--a diverse cast of members with different roles, ages, backgrounds, etc. Some time is spent showing what life on board is like for the team, and other time is spent on the ship's journey around the world. Note that Eureka Seven is a darker show directed at an older audience than Pokemon Horizons, and includes themes of war and death. Both shows are about discovering the world and its truths just as much as discovering the self: the main characters grow a lot as their journey progresses. read more

Eureka Seven and the Lucario movie have a few things in common: characters who redefine humanity, glorious angst and guilt, failures at communication, and perhaps most obviously, the theme of humanity's innate conflict with nature. They also feature bumbling young male protagonists, though Ash is much cooler and more able than Renton to start with.

While the stories are incredibly different I get the same kind of excitement from these anime. 

   * Eureka Seven is full of action-packed flying mechas and battles while Bakuman's action is set in the everyday as the characters struggle and tension to become manga artists. While Eureka Seven has fast moving battles scenes it also strangely seems more talky and goes into long winded explanations every once in a while, but Bakuman keeps conversations short and to the point, making each episode move quickly. 
   * Both have a very sweet and awkward love story which part of what drives the stories but is not the focus of the plot. Making these both great for the Not Mushy Romantic.
   * The humor is wonderful! Bakuman brings in lots of other manga and anime references (Fu-sion Ha!) and Eureka Seven's laughs come from the awkward love and the failings of our hero. 
   * You will cheer on the characters following their joy, triumphs and hardships along the way. 
   * Because of the subject matter of Eureka Seven, it is darker and more grown up their the young main characters. 

This may seem like an odd mix, but I've tested the recommedation on a hardcore Eureka Seven fan, and he has been converted to a Bakuman follower!   read more

Both animes have a character shrouded in mystery and both of them have another character who loves them whole heatedly in one way or another. The plot is surprisingly similar in many ways. However these similarities aren't felt until the end of the series. If i would compare these two, I'd say these two animes both contain the same plot while one took the dark and mysterious approach the other one took a more childish and lighthearted approach. At the end of the day, both contain the same deep meaning and may leave you with many hours to reflect on them.

Both have very similar characters. Renton is just like Agito: sometimes stupid and funny but very heroic and brave when needed. Eureka is very similar with Tula: both are different from normal people, sometimes strange and heroic. In this movie main characters are two young people just like in Eureka seven. I find these very similar.

- Both protagonist in each story share a deep bond and love for one another, and are around similar ages (teens).
