Kanon (2006)

The two main characters are very similar in their sarcastic tone. The story surrounds the main male lead's interaction with the girls around him. 

also done by Kyoto Animation, and produced by Visual Art's/Key. Looking for sad stories like in Air? Kanon is your answer, but twice as long and just as good. 

If you like Clannad, you definitely have to watch Kanon, since it's the predecessor and a true masterpiece. It's similar in many ways, but it can score with great characters, great comedy, cuteness, tear breaking drama, overflowing happiness and some really really fantastic and intelligent story arcs.  

Both simular in ways where Rin in (Shuffle!) & Yuuichi (Kanon) recieve alot of attention from the main female characters and have a good comedy side! 

Both are pretty good anime drawn around one boy and both have their fair share of action and drama. Sola has a little more action and kanon has a little more drama. Both like talking about hopes and dreams though.  

In some ways both are very similar, but, at the same time, there are quite a few differences. If you enjoy the dramatical and yet mystical romantic aspect of Kanon, you'll definitely find that in Ef- tale of memories. The difference probably lies in Ef's abstractly artistic animation and split storyline that follows the romance of three separate relationships. 

Both shows have a main character who is returning to a town that they lived in as a child, and are both slowly remembering events that happened there when they were children.  

kyon's prior gig as yuuishi in a very snowy town that is like an alternate universe to the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya....it seemed so eerily reminiscent. everything was very similar except kyon(yuuishi)...it was the exact same character.  

Both Have Similar Artwork, Story Structure, Music And Are Made By The Same People, Key! 

It has great story, the art is lovely, its also unique, characters are great *but a few in kanon* , but it has great emotional stories. For all characters, and they are both not overly overrated. Unique characters and music. There are also similar things in the story, like disappearing main girls. Secrets that you dont discover till the end. etc. 

Both Male Main Characters Had A Sad Pasts. Both Are Somehow Trying To Look Forward. And Different Girls Comes In Their Life

Both evole around one guy and two or more girls, and about their love for the main character.. both are tear jerkers occasionsly in the series.. 

It is a story of love and hidden desires all set in school life. It has a similar setting as Kanon where a male protagonist surrounded by a group of girls and each girl has her own story to tell. 

If you loved Kanon for its tear jurking story about lost love, pain, and joys along with it. Check out Kimi ga Nozomu Eien.  

Same make of Clannad. All of their work is very sad, and all a Slice of Life. I recommend this even if you dont like this anime. Its just plain fantastic 

In both animes main character is a young man suffering from amnesia who tries to live a normal life on the one hand, and to remember once forgotten memories on the other. What is more, the plot of both shows is based on drama and romance elements and belongs to "slice of life" genre, presenting rather realistic life of most of characters present in them, mixing it with some supernatural elements. The length of these animes is also identical (24 episodes).

THEY ARE DIFFERENT IN GENRES! CCS IS MAINLY MAGIC GIRL WHILE KANON IS HAREM,DRAMA. Both anime have the common theme of memory loss with dark undertones when the true nature of this amnesia comes to light. Both are powerful stories which leave one with a sense of wonder. 

To me it feels like Bakemonogatari evolved from Kanon. Storywise both anime can be summarized as follows: A guy helps a bunch of girls with supernatural problems. Both male main characters are nice, a little bit saracastic and enjoy making jokes with girls, what leads to interesting dialogs. Also Kanon does many things well, like giving each girl enough time for her story without blending out the others, Bakemonogatari has the more interesting art, the much more interesting girls (sadly the Kanon-girls sometimes seem to be close to be mentally ill) and the more developed dialogs. On the other hand Kanon is much less challenging to watch. Still, if you boil things down, I think the animes are simular and many peaople that enjoy one of them will find the other one interesting to watch. read more 

This is rather similar in terms of the love and harem kinda theme, with one main male protaginist, surrounded by a number of cute girls who all have feelings for him. except unlike Ai yori aoshi, Kanon, is about a boy who doesn't remember his past, and moves to a town where he had forgetton about. Kanon like Ai yori has lots of lovey dovey scenes, but unlike ai yori aoshi kanon, is a tearjearker, which is suprisngly the reason why alot of people love it, the comedy in both animes differ, the characters also differ but are fun to watch. 

Multiple girls have their own problems with whom the protagonist helps out in a ''magical'' way  

Sure, Mizuiro is an obscure 2 ep OVA that no one really watches or likes, but does that mean it isn't good? While it certainly isn't a masterpiece (which, in my opinion, Kanon was), it's not a half-bad show considering it's length, and it's worth a watch if you're into the visual novel adaptation genre. 

Although the girl to one guy ratio is larger in Kanon, they both have a lot of love and drama going on. Suzuka is more realistic in terms of the story and setting. 

Both series has that relaxed feeling with elements of romance, comedy, and drama. Kanon and Little Busters! are also associated with Key so expect some sorrow and emotions. Both series also take place at a school life setting with the main protagonist having interactions with the other cast members. Both series also similar artwork and character designs. 

Both series, taking place in a snow-covered enviornment, focus on a group of characters helping each other with their personal issues and traumas. Kanon includes harem-esque aspects and has strong elements of the supernatural, while Yorimoi remains realistic and is more of a dramatic slice-of-life. 

- Both stories revolve around a male main character surrounded by female friends. We get to learn about the girls by the connection the boy has with them. - Both stories start off with a slower and lighter pace and feel to end up with well handled drama - Both animes are in a highschool setting - Some characters are similar by the way they act or their past stories 

The protagonists of both anime have something in their pasts that they can't seem to remember, and they met a certain amount of girls in the past who they end up reuniting with in the future. Both anime also have animation that is pleasing to the eyes. 

Mushishi and Kanon are definitely dissimilar in a lot of ways, but they share qualities too. for example, the main protagonists in both shows are very quiet and conserved and full of secrets. The two shows have the same sort of absent, airy feel while you watch them as well. Both these shows are some of my absolute favorites, and I enjoyed them thoroughly. If you got a kick out of Mushishi, you will probably like Kanon, and vice versa. I highly recommend both. 

Both anime have the same kind of feel to it, both include main characters that have no memories of the past and both overcome it all in the end. Both have lovely humour and truly interesting character development.

The main similarity about this two is that both are dramas, both are about the grown of the character as a person and the ups and downs of life... The main difference? One can created drama that has a treu emotional impact, true tension and not a forced resolution; and the other is just melodramatic, full with fetish and overall stupid... You should watch "Violet Evergarden", it is a much better drama than kanon 

The male Main Character Also meets some special Girls and he helps them with their problems and they become friends. 

Kanon is made by the same studio as The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. They have almost identical art and some characters. Kanon also has a similar atmosphere. They both feature paranormal and mystery elements emerging in everyday life. However, Kanon focuses on romance. So, the similarities in art style, atmosphere, and thematic elements showcase the studio's consistent ability to craft compelling narratives that seamlessly blend the supernatural with the ordinary. 

I know, Kanon looks like it was made decades ago. (It actually did) but I still watched it for only about 10 times. (There are ones I've watched over 20 times and hitting 30) and Kiznaiver is rather new. Kanon has quite a few dramatic stories and arcs, and Kiznaiver is mainly about *Ahem* Dramatic physical attacks to one another (With a scar). But yeah, watch them both, even though people dislike Kiznaiver, and I don't get why. (Maybe they need to think more to get the story). -Both are dramatic, and heart warming. 

Steins;Gate, like many other visual novels, follows the same basic story structure as Kanon. A happy comedic first half, a tragic second half, and then a happy ending. Kanon is a far superior anime though, and probably also visual novel, though i will admit to not having read the Steins;Gate VN. 

Kanon and Aishen, despite being relatively different, transmit the same premise. Friendship and love that is formed by passing the chapters and the problems that arise as a result of the new beginning of our protagonist. Where every case becomes more dramatic and related about the past of our girls. Despite his indifference, shown interested in these girls, that enter your life, because they are attracted to him in a magical way. He is the help they need to clear their problems and regrets, and hope that they have to achieve their own happiness. The difference is, that Kanon is more dramatic, and Aishen is more fun. read more 

Both are adorable harems dealing with the main guy finding a mysterious girl from his past and many other girls who may or may not be related to this mystery.  

The story is quite similar , something romantic little enough drama and comedy. 

These two series, both based on VNs, feature similar structures in their attempts to uncover as much of as many of the routes as possible in a very short timeframe (We're talking about a 20 hour VN compared against an 8 hour show, after all). Grisaia has far more "ecchi" elements to it, and much fewer supernatural elements than Kanon, but the viewer who enjoys one would likely enjoy the other. 

Childhood friends and lost memories and more. 

The story is actually similar, which the male lead met many different cute girls and coincidentally live with them. 

Both High school animes but Kanon (2006) varient is able to one up this anime by story because the series makes you want to watch from begining to end

If you like one, you will definitely like the other. Although they both are very different artificially, on a more fundamental level they are very similar. They both excel at bringing you to a different world and creating unique experiences. The male leads are both strong, admirable, and popular with the ladies. The female leads are both quirky and fun. Music is an important component for both animes although more so for Nodame. However, you feel the same kind of joy, sadness, and passion when you watch them both. 

They're both harems with a touch of supernatural and the main characters are just lovable assholes. The greatest similarity between them are the opening scenes, where "a certain character" talks about their dreams. If you liked Da Capo II Second Season, I would totally recommend Kanon 2006 since it is basically better in every way. (Ex: character development, animation style, story telling, etc) 

Both stories involved a genuine male character coming to a new setting, making new friends, and learning new things about them. The male character in both are virtuous displaying many noteworthy attributes and are generally surrounded by many cute girls. Both stories involve an array of characters that are unique and lovable. The connection with and affection we develop for each of the individual characters is what makes both of these anime great. 

Its not so similar... but in those two animeis there area cute strange girls with one boy, and the endings is little similar too. I enjoied kanon more but those two animeis are very nice, i recomended :)

Both anime deal with sad stories, but have plenty of funny moments too. Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora is similar to the arc of Kanon centered around Shiori, for they are both about a girl with a fatal disease. Coincidentally, the action of both series takes place during winter and the main character is a guy called Yuuichi.  

5 Centimeters per Second leaves the watcher with a deep sense of heartache, and Kanon can repair that. Kanon is nothing short of amazing. 

The stories take place in a winter setting. They involve a lot of girls going through mystical manifestations and also they feature romance between the main character and the girls around him. 

Both have: - A hidden past - Romantic scene - a goal to reach (for the main characters) - Supernatural/special abilities - interesting plot/storyline - highly attractive/addictive to anyone - very touching, some or most series are sad - cute characters :) Both endings are really sweet.  

Same show different animation studios. Main character keeps in check with his supernatural harem. However the Kanon girls are unable to measure up in both the brains and body departments.

Both shows illustrate how a guy whose life is going nowhere get exciting due to a girl (or girls). Both shows show said guy doing some pretty ridiculous things for said girl(s). But be aware of (long title)'s strange brother-sister complex. It's not incest, but it gets uncomfortably close a couple of times.
