I've heard about people having a bit of a hard time getting into series initially, and quickly growing tired of it because of the repeated formula of comedy w/ different delinquents. Mitsuhashi is a bit like that. Like, he's obviously pretty annoying and down right bratty at times, but you can't help but like him, a bit like Izaya from Durarara if you've seen it, though obviously Mitsuhashi is a bit more palpable. I also quite like SJG, though, I didn't quite enjoy it as much as KKOW nor GTO. Glad you're enjoying the series, the more the merrier!

I see you're currently reading KKOW.. How're you liking it?

Well, it's true for the majority of BL manga: the Chinese scans are usually ahead of the English scans; sometimes when I read an English scan and I can't wait for the next chapter, I'll look up the Chinese scan.

Haha, I can totally understand, especially if you've watched the show some time ago. I don't remember the MC's name of Gin no Saji anymore even though that's one of my fave anime all time. >.>

I started reading the "Major 2nd" manga yesterday. And yes, I saw about 5 scanlated chapters. It was really interesting so I went and read the Chinese scans as well. Those have 26 chaps out already so I was in for a good surprise. :D

I was a bit confused at first when Goro's son was called "Daigo", I thought his name was supposed to be 'Shingo". And then I remembered that Shingo is Goro's little brother's name.- hit-

Major is really a great show with an ending you really can't complain about. The "Message" OVA was an unexpected gem as well. I normally don't expect too much from OVA's, but this one was done really well. Shimizu reminds me totally of Goro's mom. :D She's so nice and sweet, didn't expect that since she was always such a tomboy.

S5 and S6 made me super happy as much as super nervous. I was just hoping and praying that Gibson's heart wouldn't give out on the mound during the World Cup or that he would die. Also extremely happy how things work out between him and his son as well. They deserve happiness.

I would really have liked to see a bit more of Toshi's family too. It might be old or sound boring, but I would've loved to see Toshi on the same team is Goro in the "Message" OVA. And their kids going to the same Little League team and whatnot. ^_^

I watched the movie yesterday and, of course, loved it. It's nice to see a young and over confident Goro again. I had to flinch every time Goro threw a pitch in the final inning of the game against Kitakyushu; like the bone breaking/cracking sounds just gave me the chills. The only thing that bothered me a little bit was how the coach of Goro's team handled his injury. I mean, it should only be natural to ask a kid's parents first if it the injury was indeed healed right? Made me feel a bit... mad? I'm not sure.

I think watching the movie after like season 4 finishes would be better or like you mentioned maybe after season 3; since the last few minutes refer to Goro returning from the USA, so it's kind of a spoiler if you haven't watched the last S3 episode yet... But then again, the show's not called "Major" for nothing so it's not that big a spoiler anyway. :D

Really!?? That's awesome! I'll look for the manga then! Well, I hope Goro's son isn't as stubborn as his dad though. Looking forward to it! Thanks for mentioning it!

Ah, so this wasn't his first break... Well, keeping our fingers crossed and hope the author feels better so we can enjoy more of HxH. Especially so I can see more of Hisoka. :3

That's true, Ghibli always delivers when they make a movie. Like, it doesn't matter if you're an anime fan or not, you'll like at least one of their movies.

I guess that the jokes are a bit different then. No problem, I haven't watched Gintama yet either (and haven't read any reviews) so if I do start watching GTO I won't compare them. Just been scrolling here and there online and sometimes I see a Gintama reference and it always seems like the MC is funny, so the only thing I know is that it's a good comedy show.

I'll give it a try then. To be honest, I'm a bit reluctant since it's an all female cast, BUT I was also unsure about Non Non Biyori and I really liked that one. Thanks for letting me know what the show is about.

Haha, no problem at all. I guess it's been some time since you finished watching Major. At least you still remember what the storyline is; after I finish watching some shows, I always forget a lot of stuff so yeah. >.>

I actually just finished watching all the seasons and have watched the "Message" OVA; am still downloading the remaining two OVA's and then the movie as well. Maaaan, the last season was awesome. The OP song fit so nicely as well. And the last few minutes of the very last episode were so good and fulfilling. Toshi on the Hornets and then Goro pitching and them winning. I loved every bit of it.
ITFujoshi Jan 13, 2016 10:52 AM
I hope he also continues soon! He's taking a break because of health issues, was it?
I've read somewhere here that there are some people who are still hesitant about starting HxH since they find the animation to be a bit childish. Those peeps are seriously missing out!

Ah, all right. I'll take a look at the movie. Studio Ghibli always delivers solid work so I'll definitely check it out. Their art doesn't feel "fancy", it's kind of flowy and just one of a kind.

Yes, I've read that "Great Teacher Onizuka" is supposed to be really good. Someone said it's kind of similar to Gintama...? Anyways, I'll put that on my PTW list as well. I always like shows with a good dose of comedy in them.
Hmm, I'll also to watch "Hibeke! Euphonium" later then; is the show very dramatic? I'm not sure I can handle something similar to Clannad... Afraid of the feels. :D

Major S3 was really good! I liked it much more than season 2, but season 1 (so far) is still the best.
Er... I think it was in S2 that they were on an island? Dream Island or something where they were training to become regulars for Kaido's first string? S3 was all about Goro joining Seishuu high school and defeating Kaido.
I really think it's admirable how complete strangers can become so close and make a family even though they're not blood related. I mean, Momoko didn't have any obligation to adopt Goro, and she did so without a second thought. And then Goro's stepdad takes care of them and is just a great guy, he doesn't want them to forget Goro's dad at all and isn't trying to take his place. So many family feels in Major. ;_;
ITFujoshi Jan 12, 2016 1:42 AM
Actually, I didn't care that much for Meruem and Komogi to be honest. They had some great scenes here and there, but guess I'm not much of a fan for "darker" or more serious scenes? I'm not sure.

Ah, well at least since you read the manga it gives a little bit more closure. Some people aren't happy with some anime endings but then they never really want to read the manga cuz it takes too much time. >.>
You could definitely pick up the DnA manga. The first part has like 400 something chaps so plenty to read. But once you've caught up, it's really torture to wait for the next chap since every time they leave you with a major cliffhanger.

NNB's art is really relaxing. The feel of the show just kind of makes me want to move to Japan's country side if it's like that. XD

Yes, luckily anime caters to everyone's taste. :D
Well, I don't mind if anyone gives me some recommendations since I'm not that particular about any show. As long as there's some comedy in it (and no romance or where the romance parts aren't overdone), I'll generally be satisfied.

Again, like you said, everyone has different tastes. For instance I enjoyed Gin no Saji (which I consider my personal fave SoL anime) and recommended it to someone who also enjoys SoL a huge deal, but they thought the show fell flat and wasn't that good. -shrugs-
ITFujoshi Jan 10, 2016 12:45 AM
Haha, I sometimes write Fairy Tail as well. The show's name is like a spelling nightmare. XD

I feel you. Shows with a lot of episodes make you think twice about watching it.
HxH is a really good show; I kind of forgot when I started to watch it, but there weren't a lot of episodes when I picked it up. What did you think about the Chimera Ants arc? I personally didn't like it that much... It just kept dragging on for me. I was really hoping for a short Ants arc, followed by an epic showdown of the Phantom Troupe vs Gon's team... Oh well. Hopefully we'll get that in the future.

That's true with airing shows. As long as they're not finished, you'll keep wanting more. I think that's why I started reading the manga of DnA and Haikyuu as well. :D I just couldn't wait.
If you really need some closure, maybe also try reading the manga? Sometimes the manga is better. For Haikyuu I definitely prefer the anime more, but for DnA, if they don't animate all of it, I'm pretty okay with just the manga.

Barakamon was hilarious. I was really skeptical when I read it was a show about calligraphy. O_O But man, that was a nice surprise. I loved the fujoshi nuances the show had here and there. ^u^
I've only seen one episode of Kimi to Boku, because it was kind of hard to download the rest since there were no seeders. T^T The art looked pretty good though.
Ah, I understand. Non Non Biyori isn't everyone's cup of tea. The show is either hit or miss I think. It doesn't exactly appeal to everyone since the whole cast is female; it certainly didn't to me at first, but had another MAL user recommend it and I liked it, even though I normally don't watch too many shows with female MC's.
