If you've read Skip Beat and liked the concept I think you'll defenitly like The One.
Both are about girls entering the entertainment business,(Skip beat-acting,The one-modelling) and how they struggle to make it, falling in love a long the way aso.

The drawing style is similar. There is a bit of love and showbiz industry requires you to pose infront of cameras and wear fashionable just like in The One. They are both funny and both about a girl entering into an industry with little to zero experience yet a lot of talent. They both have a sad past related to their parents and the reason they are doing it both started from love. Either falling in love with a guy but then getting betrayed so they hated the guy and wanted revenge (Skip Beat!) or joining the industry to see the guy (The One). Either way the are really similar have similar story line, same sense of humor and drawing style. (At first when I was reading them I thought they were from the same author) read more

You'll definately like The One if you like Skip Beat, whilst the main character in skip beat does acting, the main actor in The One does Modelling. Both main actors have similar love lives, with the male in interest having a bad past

Both stories have great minds behind it that will send one surprise at you after another. Every time you think the arc or the plot can't get any better, it'll do a complete 180 at you.

While I think there's definitely similarities between the characters, the comedy and how both stories borrow from similar settings (the entertainment industry), it really quickly diverges from there. The progress of The One (romance-wise) moves a lot quicker than Skip Beat. Different characteristics and themes are used very differently between the two stories, which makes both stories so enjoyable and not repetitive.

Both of these are very similar. To start of with, they are both about girls trying to make it big in similar careers, (The One - Modeling, Skip Beat! - Acting/Entertainment) and fall in love along the way. The characters also remind me of each other.

I'm sure if you enjoyed Skip Beat! or The One, you will definitely enjoy the other.

Both feature women trying to make it in a very competitive industry.  There is an element of romance in both as well, but I think The One takes a more mature/less comedic spin to tell the story.

Both are stories about a girl trying their best to reach the top of the show business. One in acting and the other in modelling. Both tells the story about their growth over time, how they overcome their obstacles, and thier love life.

Although they don't relate in the same line of business/industries, I find Skip Beat and The One similar because of the idea of following dreams. Both series' main characters tries to make a name in their line of business through hard work. At the same time, there are complicated relationships that deals with friendship, love, betrayals, etc. There's a good degree of realism from both series as well especially on a professional level. Do note that Skip Beat has more comedy while The One adapts more mature content.

Both manga have high school girls who are trying to become famous. In both manga, the characters encounter many obstacles and encounter unexpected friendship and love, although they are different types.

Both manga will probably make a person laugh even though the authors have different styles of portraying comedy.

I am personally enjoying the manga and I always look forward to the new releases, so I think anyone who is a fan of "Skip Beat!" would be a fan of "The One" and vice versa.

Both mangas have young female leads who dream to be the top in their respective fields in the entertainment industry (acting for Skip Beat!/modeling for The One). Both protagonists also get involved with rivals who are jealous of them as well as with men who work with them and eventually develop feelings for them.

The One basically is also about the entertainment business only that it's about the fashion business. The protagonist also doesn't have much memory of her parents and it has a lot of time jumps. It's a really good manga if you are into so lowkey smut and drama. This is one of my favorite manga.

Both have heroines that do not have any plans to enter the entertainment industry initially but they change their decisions because of a 'guy'. Both heroine possess a lively character, never give up, ability to connect to their fans/audience, and forgiving heart. Both are lively and tries to learn and improve themselves for the better at any chance, little or not, they get. IF YOU LIKE ANY OF THE OTHER, BIG CHANCE OF LIKING THE OTHER ONE IS POSSIBLE.

Both are pretty spicy stories with a female lead in it, as well as them being very assertive and doesn't take shit from anyone as well as nice art and character designs too. As well as an entertainment industry focus in it as well too.

With Glass Mask and Skip Beat, both of the female leads will do what it takes to make it in the entertainment world, even though their agenda and ultimate goals are different.  They are also long running series.  Skip Beat with over 20 volumes, and Glass Mask with over 40 - and still ongoing.  If you like one, you would enjoy the other.

Glass Mask and Skip Beat both focus on a young girl determined to make it big in the world of acting.  However, while this connects both mangas, the difference between Kyoko and Maya's characters is vast.  The dark, serious, and often times immature Kyoko provide much comic relief to the Skip Beat series whereas the creative, "genius" actress that sometimes lacks confidence allows readers of Glass Mask to wonder if she has what it takes to get the role of the legendary "Crimson Goddess".  Despite the differences between the two characters, readers of one series will definitely be able to enjoy the other. Both are series about serious method actor girls. The rest of the cast draws parrells to. Kyoko=Maya, Ren=Masumi (and other characters *giggle*) Kanae sort of = Ayumi and Yahiro=Mizuki.  There are many diffence in the plot (mainly cocerning the main characters motive for acting, but both series have humor, drama, bitchy actresses jealous of the main characters, and awesome romance scenes.

I've read some were before that Glass Mask is like Skip Beats mother and I would have to agree. Glass Mask is about a girl and her career in acting just like in Skip Beat and the romance is a lot like. If you like older manga and you like Skip Beat you have to try Glass Mask!

Both have a girl who goes into show business and gradually gets more popular. Maya is kind of like the innocent side of Kyoko. Both characters surprise their coworkers when they get very into their characters, and there is the whole "I just can't get into the role" thing, and then they end up making up a character that surprises everyone. Kyoko and Kanae's relationship is similar to Maya and Ayumi's, except Kyoko and Kanae are more friendly with each other.

If you like the premise of Skip Beat but want more depth on the acting part, or just more depth in general, try Glass Mask. At one point you stop comparing it to Skip Beat because it's on a much higher level. Both are very good in their own ways though, and kind of complement one another, Skip Beat having what Glass Mask lacks and vice-versa.

Both of the main character want to be an actor. Glass no Kamen is long and kinda slow but worth the while, while Skip Beat is faster and so many things happening. Both of the main characters are both young girls and both of them have big love of acting. They have both flaws and in Glass no Kamen her flaws are bigger but they are both lovable. I love both manga and would own both of them if Glass no Kamen would be in english but they are only so on the internet, sadly.

The one thing that will always amaze readers about both series is their ability to draw anyone in, no matter the gender...or age.  Both takes on the same theme: acting.  Whether theatrical or televised acting, Skip Beat! and  Glass no Kamen (Glass Mask) tackles the said art. They are top-billed by overactive girls whose talent in that department so far outshines even veterans that leaves both friends and rivals alike gaping in their wake.   Talented they may be, but the two female leads lack the sensitivity to notice that they may actually be far more amazing actresses than they made themselves believe. 

This recommendation is not made on the premise of the two works' similarities, but rather on giving the  readers an alternative to the manga that left them wanting another creation with the same topic of discourse. They differ, however, in tone, Glass Mask is wrapped in a darker atmosphere despite Skip Beat having a female lead with a "dark" side. They both are written by the same author, so the humor and drawings are similar. Both aren't your typical shoujo stories either; they are both unique. Tokyo Crazy Paradise has a whole lot more fighting scenes than Skip Beat where there's kicks and little devil spirits. But in both, the main character undergoes amazing transformations which make you want to see more.

When I first read this manga, one of the most noticeable thing is the humor and art is very similar to Skip Beat!. (I found out later that it was the same author XD) Although it isn't as well done as Skip Beat! it is still  worth the read.

They're both by the same author... and the art is pretty similar... but the stories are completely different ^_^... TCP is more actiony and yakuza-y and Skip Beat is more drama-y =3

It's written by the same author so there's the same type of humour. The characters look and sometimes act really similar. The romance is much deeper than it is in skip beat and there is also way more action compared to skip beat.

The occasional little devils, evil aura, and humor in general are all similar. Even the characters seem repeated from the mangaka's earlier work (TCP) and later work (Skip Beat!). 

Main character stays the same, the "Ren" & "Shou" characters in the guys love triangle seem switched, and the secondary love triangle (on the girls side) from the blonde girl is not as serious (from TCP, she turns out much younger in Skip Beat!). 

They both deal with some level of revenge and hatred. TCP's heroine is forcefully (by debt) her love interest's guard (known since childhood), soon turning into love. [Be noted that TCP is for an older audience (some images are not suited for young readers)]. On the other side, Skip Beat!'s heroine follows one guy (from the love triangle) into the entertainment world for revenge, only to be in love (not that she knows) with another - also seen in childhood. Main point being, both similar in some aspects of style, and also great reads. read more

its by the same mangaka, the art's definitely similar. tcp was done before skip beat, so i guess it might not be as refined, but its not too bad. the expansion of the story was interesting and (as always) there's those gorgeous guys in shoujo manga.

Not only are the manga written by the same author, but there are actually many similarities as well. There is a heroine in each story who is forced to be tough and take care of herself due to her circumstances and unique people she meets that are sometimes hard to differentiate between friend and enemy. Also, even though these two men play different roles, there is a guy who seems like a bad person, but has ulterior of often good intentions.

These mangas are from the same mangaka. Both female characters are both very naive but strong willed and SUPER TALENTED at what they do, which makes them at times both intimidating and scary at times. They are also in a way trying to hide their true identities from the people around them. Both have an awesome male love interest who is funny and gets super protective/jealous. Both females are forced to be with the male love interest  out of circumstance and therefore begin their roles with obligation. Great secondary characters and long elaborate plot lines. T.C.P has a lot more action and has already been completed. I also think they wrap up story arcs a bit more quickly and neatly in T.C.P.  read more

They have very similar art as well as a fair amount and similar type of humor.
In both mangas the female MCs that are not in any way weak (In Tokyo Crazy Paradise she is a kick** fighter, in skip beat she is talented and mentally strong).
The drama isn't very similar but they both keep you intrigued.
 Also, both of them are so amazing that you will have laughed your a** off as well as become extremely devoted to the characters.

The ends of the heroine are the same and that is to defeat a certain someone in showbizness that is (was) mutually related to them. Other than that, they both contain the love triangle scenario though that facade is yet to be seen in Honey Hunt. 

Honey Hunt is a tale about a girl who wishes to have revenge on her superstar mother. Also, she wishes to make a name of her own since a lot of people only saw her as the daughter of one of the world's greatest musician and a talented actress.

The revenge of the heroines is the common denominator. Also, both heroines joined the same league as the guy they are wishing to cast their revenge on. They are both determined to overthrow their former love because of the misery they caused them. And along the way,  they'll meet colorful characters that will brighten up their gloomy facade - who knows if these characters will help them exact their vengeances?

Both plots: pure-hearted heroine being used by a childhood friend, but instead of immediately crying, they lose their innocent character and their strength leaves the guy baffled by hurting him and vowing revenge. She enters his world (Skip Beat- entertainment, Uwasa- soccer) and finds her life much more open and worthwhile than ever before (both are country/island girls coming to the city, but their development comes from following this new world).

Love triangles: Both female leads act as a type of healer for the guy tied to his past, warming his cold demeanor with their kind and quirky character (can be even magical at times). At the same time, their skills and determination to excel in this world are encouraged by another (except SB, it's the same person).

Although Uwasa no Midori-kun is a lot more.. smutty, both mangas, in a way, have a great romance development that leave the audience wanting more (Or even rooting for both ends of the love triangle). read more

Both are about high school girls who go to extreme lengths to get revenge on a guy whom they were very close to and loved but took advantage of them by defeating them at what they are best at. 

Although they are very similar in that aspect, they start to drift off into different directions as the series progress. Since both manga aren't finished yet, it is hard to say. UNMK is more mature and explicit while SB, in my opinion, can be deeper at times. Either way, if you liked SB, then I think you will like UNMK.

Both about a girl wanting to take revenge on a guy that pretended to love her. In skip beat, the girl enters show biz in order to take revenge on the guy who's a famous singer. In uwasa no midorikun, the girl enters a guys school to enter the soccer team in order to take revenge on the guy who's in another school's soccer team.

Similar in that there is a love triangle, that a girl pursues a guy to get revenge and that they have a love-hate relationship. It's like a younger version of Skipbeat, but with soccer instead of going into the entertainment business.

Both stories are about a teenage girl who tries to make it in the acting world. While Skip Beat is a lot longer, Cat Street provides a heartwarming and original storyline. Cat Street is a short but sweet story that shouldn't be missed.

Although both main characters may not have had the greatest childhood, they look more towards their future in show business rather than the past.

Cat Street focuses more on the tragedy of the entertainment world onto a child star, with her growing from isolation with the addition of friends; While Skip Beat! looks onto Kyoko's development into fame, gaining friends from her adventures. 

Both stories feature great heroines, rather than relaying on their past torment to pull them down, they gain strength towards their success.

For my comment- Cat Street was a great read, it had many twists I would have never expect and its drama was worth getting into. On the other hand, Skip Beat! is full of comedy, but has its mix of drama as well. These are two wonderful mangas that will give you a similar feeling while reading, and will prove its heartwarming value without disappointment. read more

Finding the place where you belong can be difficult and both stories show one woman who, through acting and interacting with others, finds the emotional strength that was lost.  Both stories deal with acting, interpersonal skills, and people who have lost an essential characteristic in finding self-worth and happiness.  They all struggle to find themselves and their place in life.  Skip Beat! has super cute moments when Kyoko's personality and quirks are larger than life and often give her strength when she lacks confidence, whereas Keito in Cat Street is much more mild and lost.  Despite their dissimilar personalities, both girls make a name for themselves and become indispensable to their friends and coworkers. read more

Both of these manga's star a main actor and their struggles and progresses in the world of acting. Both main characters are refreshing, honest to a fault, a little naive, and kind to the bone. They both have something in their past that cripples them emotionally and both manga's are their stories working past them. While Cat Street is much much shorter and less developed, it is still a heartwarming tale worth a read. Skip Beat is objectively well written, I don't need to say much about it other than that it's a manga every shoujou manga fan needs to read at least once in their life.  read more

Both manga involve a girl rejected by the first boy she liked. So, they sink into a stae of depression (aka "black" or scary). Kyouko loves curses, voodoo dolls where as Sunako collects skeletons and creepy stuff. Both of them believe in fairy tales or fantasies.

The difference is in Skip Beat! Kyouko is trying her best to come to the top of showbiz world coz she loves it(though she started out to just get her revenge on sho). Whereas Sunako is trying to become a lady(not really!!) just because her aunt wants her to become one.

All in all these two are typical shoujo manga with a "very different" or "strong" or crazy scary and beautiful heroines. Also...both of them are my favourites^_^ read more

If you love Kyoko you'll probably love Mafayu. Both girls scare those around them without realizing it, dream of shoujo-manga type romance, and start the manga by trying to restart their lives with a clean slate.

Both main girls:: 
love to have that fantasy/imagination around them (ex: occasional shiny eyes that seems to see a lovely world there);; give unexpected love developments to a taller, bit-older guy that appeared in their childhood;; treat their best friend with the same greeting (very funny- "yelling their names and jumping into the air" kind of greeting).

These two are a great read; both are one of the funniest mangas out there that tends to mock the genre they are from.

While the plots of these two manga stories differ quite a bit, there are a few major similarities.  The art of "Oresama Teacher" resembles that of "Skip Beat!", especially during some of the more humorous moments.  Both authors' comedic cartoon versions of the characters are similarly hilarious.  

As for the characters themselves, they, too, are similar.  The main character of "Skip Beat!", Kyoko, is a lot like the heroine of "Oresama Teacher", Mafuyu.  Both girls wish to forget about their past selves; they also wish to be more feminine, but they find it difficult due to their ditzy, clutzy personalities.  The other major characters, Ren and Sho from "Skip Beat!" and Takaomi and Hayasaka from "Oresama Teacher", are similar in more ways I can discuss without spoiling the story.  What I can reveal is that they have close ties to the heroine, creating an interesting love triangle. Also, if you like Ren, you will like Takaomi, whereas if you like Sho, you will like Hayasaka.  

However, it took me a few chapters to realize the obvious resemblance. Two points, though, gave it immediately away: 1) the hilarity, satisfaction, and pure love of such great manga, and 2)  both heroines enjoy disguising as animals to secretly help their friends. ;) read more

Ashita no Ousama addpermalink

I would say that both are very interesting and engaging stories about a girl making it in show business. Both are shoujos and have obvious love stories but somehow both really develop solid relationships and ideas that make these two mangas very enjoyable and even a bit intellectual.

Skip Beat is newer and more modern but I like the 90's feel and art of Ashita no Ousama. They both borrow different shoujo stereotypes. Ashita has the innocent girl (not annoying though, just more far-fetched) and Skip Beat has more unrealistic plot developments but none of these get in the way, especially compared with all the other shoujo I read, because the mangakas really know how to put a lot of thought into why/what.

To sum, it is worth trying one if you like the other. These two mangas stand out from a sea of shoujo. read more

Skip Beat! is very similar in that both have main characters aiming to be at the top of the entertainment industry, though Skip Beat! is more into acting. Both protagonists are very hardworking and would rather die than to give up. Furthermore, the mother of both the main characters treat their children as disappointments. I really recommend this manga! It has it's unique plot that will make you ask for more!

About a girl who went through adversity in her past and comes to change in their new situation. From here, these noble heroines do what they can to change themselves, inspire others, and pull these people into their "inner circle". Both Kyoko and Maria are very admirable to look up to and can be "pure" in their sense of feelings [also can be very straightforward & determined and happen to appeal to frills or fantasy]. They are without parents since early childhood, and are seen facing relentless bullying/torment, but eventually soften these people into friends (including the male leads, both whom first disdained [but not bully] the protagonist until they admired these never-ending efforts). Coincidentally, these male interests had some form of trauma when pursuing fame in their early childhoods, but, thanks to these girls, recover from and are dealing with their past.

These two mangas are also brilliant in a literary sense. (i.e.- themes of perception and what we ourselves perceive [Akuma], price of vengeance [SB!], the past that haunts us, sins and beginning anew, etc.). Both stories deserve the upmost regard as they are highly unique and are backed up with the most fantastic art, mind-bending tragedy, and top-notch comedy that, indeed, make them some of the best shoujo mangas out there. read more

The friendship + comedy between the main characters [Kyoko and her best girl-friend, as well as Tanpopo and her best girl-friend] are quite similiar. (Going from the other hating the main character -> to acceptance & love ^_^)

Also, both main girls are strong-willed, hilarious, weird/different, and very influential. There are also "love triangles". [SkipBeat- Ren&Sho, Imadoki- Tanpopo&Erika]. Well, if you love one, you'll love the other.

These two manga deal with show biz in Japan. Both protagonists are not your usual everyday talent and actually enter the show biz for other people (skip beat for revenge and akb49 to help). Both give a similar feel even though the storylines differ greatly. hope you enjoy both.

Similar premises where the protagonists navigate through the entertainment industry in order to seek revenge. 

Skip Beat's direction of revenge is of the basis of romantic connections whereas Oshi no Ko focuses more on familial ties but with an extra element of an emotionally charged mystery. 

They'll meet peers that will mutually challenge each other to grow in the industry as well as facing challenges that will test their talents and emotions.

Just like Akatsuki no Yona, you may ignore this title due to the seemingly boring plot and the first chapter but do not be fooled!
It's awesome! Just wait and read for a while and I am sure you will be hooked on to it..unable to stop reading...

The plot is entirely different (Skip Beat revolves around the entertainment industry, mainly Acting field), but I'm sure those who loved Yona will also love the adorable, yet badass Kyoko from Skip Beat.

Yona lost everything she had when she had to flee from the castle after that terrible night when her first love and cousin Soo-won killed her father, the King.
Kyoko too, lost everything when she hears how her love Kyo thinks of her as nothing but a tool to use after spending and giving her whole 16 years for him.
But we have some tough girls here who are hard to crack. We see them change drastically from the weak and foolish characters they were to the most strong-willed and cool girls that they are now...
One of my favourite parts in both manga is when people wonder "Who is this girl?"   "Is she really the same person that I've seen/known before?"
They really make us think of the words.."DO not underestimate a girl" and "Dont judge a book by its cover"
There are also instances when we feel our hearts moved and find our eyes nearly filled with tears...or sometimes we find them to be the cutest and silliest characters in the world...and also the densest person in the matters of love!...  Though in Kyoko's case there is also the fact that she has come to hate and be scared of falling in love...

And let's not forget about the bishounen and cool male protagonist Tsuruga Ren. We see many sides of him throughout the manga and there is some character growth too along with many other characters after meeting Kyoko..and plus, he is cool and fun to watch.
Just as I mentioned, the majority of the characters undergo some development under the influence of Kyoko.
And overall...it's fun and an inspiring manga in my opinion which is a must-read read more

Both romantic comedies with heavy emphasis on the comedy, featuring strong, female leads who are trying hard to reinvent themselves, though are quick to revert back to old habits and eccentricities (in Kyokos case, her grudges and love of fairy tales, for Naedoko, behavioral observation and skillful manipulation). Both are furthermore entirely oblivious to the romantic advances of the male lead, getting far more exited at the prospect of going windowshopping or eating ice cream with their first ever (female) friend. I think if you like one, you're bound to like the other.

Both Najika (Kitchen no Ohime-sama) and Kyoko (Skip Beat!) were not raised by their parents and have a special skill (Kyoko- acting; Najika- cooking).
Also, in the past, the two of them met a boy that helps them, but they don't remember him really well (so they search for him).
The two stories include comedy, romance and drama. Skip Beat! is longer and Kitchen no Ohime-sama is more tragic. They're both worth reading.

Mangas about acting and show biz. Both protagonists face a lot of difficulties and people trying to "take them down" in their attempts at becomming a popular actress.
Both are independent, smart and assertive, and have faced a lot of sadness and torment in the past.
Skip beats is a comedic shoujo manga with a lot of silly drama and romance, while Kasane is a more serious seinen manga with a lot of silly drama and ...ye no no romance here.
Big difference is although both protagonists have real acting talent, Kasane uses the help of supernatural means: a mysterious lipstick that lets her temporarily swap her appearances with the last person she kisses while wearing it. read more

Well the basic genres and stuff are entirely different but Skip Beat and Bakuman have this one thing in common - 

A world within a world!

 In Bakuman, its about creating worlds, characters and stories in manga
 In Skip Beat, its about the different characters portrayed by a single one(Kyoko)

Skip beat has more depth to this theme but Kyoko lacks significant rivals..
Both are recommended!

If you are a fan of Skip Beat! then I suggest you check out the new shoujo manga Full Dozer.   We have a plucky heroine who is on a path similar to the heroine in Skip Beat! towards a celebrity.  The set up of the story is similar as well but with a twist!    You could think of Full Dozer as Skip Beat with a male lead instead of Kyoko.  It's also by a well known mangaka (Usotsuki Lily) so I'm expecting good things.

When it comes to entertainment, Nana and Skip Beat takes the stage and presents them in a very creative way. Both series deals with characters who gets involved in mainstream entertainment revolving around their professional careers. Throughout their stories, the characters develop both personally and professionally. There is romance in both series as well; do note that Nana has much more mature themes while Skip Beat is more humorous. Nonetheless, there is realism that is evident in both series along with suitable gags fitting for their premises. Definitely recommended for fans who are looking for a shoujo that expands more than just romance.

The main characters in these two mangas are fairly similar. Both girls are energetic and not really used to the "pretty" role. Personality wise: they are a little bit strange, highly reactive emotionally, and somewhat awkward in social situations. The main male character is a cool guy who acts as a teacher to the main character. Overall, these are both very funny mangas with interesting situations happening all of the time.

Okay...this is going to sound weird, but I'm recommending Skip Beat!for those who like Number. This is mostly due to character similarities.
Both main characters, Toneriko and Kyoko (for Number and Skip Beat! respectively) went into the business in order to get revenge.
Their enemies, Tekirai and Shotarou, didn't care about them until later chapters, in which they showed an interest towards them.
Both characters received help in order to get into the business,from Ageha and Sawara-san respectively.
And the main characters both found their first and best friends while wroking in the business. (Mizuto and Kanae respectiuvely)
Other than that, they're quite different. SB! is a lot lighter than Number and though they're both listed as shoujo, Number has implied sexual dialogue that make it borderline shounen-ai. They're both amazing, but comedy is present all-throughout SB! while tragedy/sadness is present all-throughout Number. read more

Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru  . . are both about showbiz but are different too, Skip Beat is about Acting mostly whereas Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru is about the Sing/Music. Both are about 16 year old girls & relationship with older guys. Skip Beat! Is all about acting; Doll is all about ballet. 
For some reasons, with such plots, those two wouldn't click together (I know). 
However, as I was reading Doll, I couldn't help but have flashbacks of Skip Beat--probably because the art is similar, but no not really-- and I couldn't help but keep remembering it.
Well, both of them have a bit of acts here and there. In SB, it's acting in movies and such; doll on the other hand has ballet musical plays. 
SB is longer though, but both is a great read!

In Beniiro Hero the main character has a natural talent for volleyball, and in Skip Beat she has a natural talent for acting. This results in other characters having reactions such as:
-"What... how is that rookie doing something so skilled when they don't have any experience..!!"
-"That girl is... scary...!"
-"Has she given up?" "No, look!" "*Gasp* her aura has completely changed..!!"
Also in both series the heroine has extreme amounts of family drama, since their mother wants to force them into a family business kind of thing, and they completely disapprove of the way that the heroine has grown up.
The love interest(s) of the heroine have similar talents and interests to her, and both mangas use multiple perspectives to explain what is going on (not only from the point of view of the main characters, but minor characters as well.)

These two stories have positive, outgoing, loud and enthusiastic main characters, Uru and Kyoko! The manga stories have a similar atmosphere, and while Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume is about a happy story at a café, Skip Beat! is a story about a girl who joined the entertainment business (showbiz) for revenge! They also have similarities according to the backgrounds of these main characters, and they way they portray the characters is quite similar too!
*EXTRA: Skip Beat! even has an anime! I'm desperately waiting for the Second Season 
 To be honest, I think Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume is actually a bit more mellow compared to the upbeat colourfulness of Skip Beat!

You also have a romance with a senior in the industry, who at first seems really scary but ends up falling for the female lead after learning more about her. There are also so many minor similarities such as family problems, love triangle, etc.. Anyways I’m sure that if you like one, you would really enjoy the other!!

Both of these stories are very different in almost every way (Skip Beat is humorous and revolves around show business while Apothecarius Argentum is more dramatic and revolves around pharmacy and politics) but they both are high quality pieces of work with strong female leads, suitors that I actually root for and fantastic characterization even in the secondary characters.

"Skip Beat!" is lighter and has more comedic moments.  "Cinema to Teikoku" is more somber.  Overall, I like "Skip Beat!" better, but they are both good.

For whatever reason, this is the manga I thought of most the further I got into Ao Haru Ride. 
Both have headstrong female characters that start out being timid, but then decide to change themselves for the better. 
Both have male leads that seem cold and distant, but gradually you can start to see them warming up to the female lead in a really cute way.
I totally recommend Skip Beat! to anyone who likes Ao Haru Ride, though the art style is completely different. Much more pointy haha. I personally love both styles.

If you really liked Skip Beat than this will definitely be a manga you'll like. It is similar to Skip Beat because both the parents don't care about there child. There is also a character like Ren who also had difficulties in his life. It's actually a sad story but there is still romance in it. So this is one of my favorites just like skip beat.
So as I said before...if you like SKIP BEAT you'll definitely like SANAGI TO OUSAMA!! ♥♥♥

Both are about girls that are underestimated and who want to prove themselves. Skip beat is about acting and red about photography. Kyoko  in skip beat followed a famous singer but discovers that he only sees her as a maid. Red is a poor, bullied girl that runs away from home to Hollywood. There are more similarities but that would spoil the story's.

Half way into HWDI I realized that it's almost as if... Sho and Ren had the hots for each other. *shrug*. If you like Yaoi, and lots of sex scenes, then HWDI is the series for you. 

Both series revolve around acting and the entertainment industries. SB has a very slow romantic progression, while HWDI's is really fast. That being said, both rely on the mix of acting and romance. So if you like long series with that type of mix, then either series is great.

But again, HWDI is YAOI and has  TONS of sex scenes. I legit skimmed the hell outta that. (There's only so much Yaoi love I can take lmao) read more

When reading Penguin Brothers I kept thinking how similar it was to Skip Beat. These two mangas share VERY similar main characters.... The main character in both of these is a fierce, but simple-minded female who can hold her own against many different opponents including bullies. Both characters are very likable and make friends with lots of people who seem like enemies at first. Also, the lead has a difficult goal which she is trying to accomplish. There are many obstacles in the way for these characters, but both work very hard to overcome them.

Both series feature an energetic female character who is trying to make it in the acting business. This character has to deal with entertainment issues, as well as all the trials of real life. If you liked one, you'll like the other... especially if you are looking for something that is funny, interesting and unique.

Naka (NJ) and Kyoko (SB) are both scary girls and are into the limelight industry (modeling - NJ and talent - SB).

Naka did not really receive much appreciation for her potentials.
However, Kyoko, although she appears to really be scary and emits a strong aura when angry, she's well appreciated by the talent she posses like she was born to become an actress herself.

On the surface, they look like completely different series, but they have the same feel when you're reading them.  Where Skip Beat focuses on an actress, Happy focuses on a tennis player.. but otherwise, there's just less romance and a bit more nudity.  If you enjoyed Glass Mask and Skip Beat, you'll probably like this one, too.

Ichigo Channel and Skip Beat share the common element of comedy, romance and showbiz. The main character is a female lead who does not appear to most to be the typical celebrity face. Both of these main characters are up and coming stars who have to work hard to learn their jobs. Both main characters do not start out wanting to actually become an actor/model, but eventually find themselves deciding upon that career.

Though these two stories differ in many aspects they also have much in common. Both girls lead characters are modern girls who go all out in all they do and have lots of spunk. This particular quality, though odd, is also charming to the company who surround them and men of character, though hesitant, can not help but fall for these girls.

Additionally, a red thread bind these two stories and that is LOVE, the blazing unrequited love that borders on obsession! They both change there lives because of it, though one forsakes it and the other seeks it yet again. Furthermore, they are both oblivious when it comes to others interests in them.

Last but not least they both have a small taste of the supernatural! read more

Of the two Skip Beat is definitely better, but if you are looking for a story about an up and coming model/actor these two definitely compare. Both of these have a strong female lead who is quirky and tomboyish. Also, they have similar settings and side characters.

I think you would like to read V.B rose/skip beat beacuse they both have a special talent in the manga. They are both shojo mangas so they contain romance, slice of life and you just can´t help but to read them both over and over again.

I know they don't really look alike, but in a way... they do. Both male characters are "perfect" (though the main girl later found out it's not like this in reality). Despite the female main characters described as not pleasant, they say the male is much worse.
In both, you don't really see involved parents, despite the girls being underage (Kyoko is 16 in the begnning, while Lydia is 17. Though Lydia is in the age of marriage, so...) and the guy's parents also not an active part of the plot in the present (for different reasons)
Both women are naive, and in both the romance take time (in Skip Beat it takes forever. I mean, till now nothing really happened).

Both are dealing with someone struggling to make it big in the entertainment industry- in this case, kyouko and the five main protagonist in Teen Spirit- from there the differences grow enormously. Kyouko begins her struggle with Ren and the boys begin to struggle against their differences and getting along.
