Persona 4 The Magician is a great read for those who are already emotionally invested in the Persona 4 franchise. The original P4 media already does a good job with presenting Yosuke's character, and this manga is a great supplemental read that adds to it even further. Being able to see more of Yosuke's background before Yu arrived in Inaba as well as the early interactions between them and seeing some key P4 moments from his point of view is what I wanted from this manga, and that is exactly what I got.

If you played the game, you already know Yosuke's story. So there's no reason to read this manga
If you haven't played the game, then don't read this manga because it's full of spoilers. It doesn't really add any new context to his character in my honest opinion. It just rehashes things from the game, but it does it well. Not an awful read, but not one I find myself willing to recommend or re-do.
