Mixes humour with fantastical action-adventure storyline. Unlike a lot of shounen, not every character is a teenager; you have a mix of ages and backgrounds (so again, not everyone is at school or some form of ninja school...) which adds a richness to the setting and a feeling that it's more than just generic wish-fulfilment crap like Bleach and Naruto.

This Anime reminds me a lot of Dragonball The boys looks nearly the same, turn both into a monster, are strong,their first friend was a girl and then their adventure starts. Actually Ruby looks really the same as Bulma hair eyes and body. Both of the stories continiues with killing enemys, finding friends and killing the biggest monster.

The overall aching feel of Toriko is akin to that of Dragon Ball. In these two publications, characters are portrayed with having bulky bodies, fighting techniques are unique and varied, and there is a collection element in regard to the plot.

Both series deal with maturing characters throughout the series, as in aging. Villians try to either take over or destroy the earth, which the main characters try to prevent for various reasons, this involves a series of random adventures and trainings.

Mori jin is very similar to goku even with the hairstyle... Both character were founded by Old Man (grandpas) 
Awesome fights, Super powers, Martial Arts, Gods, tournaments, Awesome Transformations, Dragons and etc. If you like Goh then you should know dragon ball that inspired this manhwa. and if you love Dragon Ball of course you will also love this after you check this awesome manhwa! So much db refereces and similarities are in this manhwa and ofc the vibe...

(SPOILER ALERT)
and Both characters are based on Sun Wukong from Journey to the west. Dragon ball and The God of highschool are very similar too, way too much similar. read more

They have a diverse cast of characters, both have very comedic moments, and (for the most part) fight pretty similarly as the characters use some sort of martial arts.

Everything you love about Dragon Ball such as the action, humor and likable characters you'll also love in One Punch-Man.

Both manga have extremely overpowered main characters, fun stories and are very addictive once you start reading.

Dragon Ball is a classic manga and I'm sure One Punch-Man will also become a future classic!

Although both characters get into their adventures in a different way, the way they go through they're hardships, struggles and adventure, is pretty much the same. Some similar characters and situations make these look-a-like, although the themes are completely different.

Black Clover addpermalink

Black Clover and Dragon Ball are both "meat-head" shonen. Both are focused on action with characters and plot coming after. I personally prefer Dragon Ball but I do think that Black Clover's cast is a little better. Keep in mind though that I've only read Dragon Ball (when Goku was a kid) and the saiyan saga.

you love fighting manga? planet level, galaxy level or even higher? fight with gods, extremely powerful enemies and hero that never gives up? then this manga is for you. This manga inspired tite kubo, creator of bleach and many mangas. Difference of Saint Seiya and Dragon Ball is That Saint Seiya is very underrated.. Saint Seiya is classic fighting manga that deserves a lot attention.

A lot of fights with bizarre and unusual enemies (in this case I'm referring to the first volumes of Dragon Ball where Goku is a kid/teenager).

A lot of adventures through several places (the quest for the dragon balls makes the main characters go to many different locations, and Stardust Crusaders has a journey almost half the circumference of the Earth, passing by many different countries)

Both also create a deep sensation of not being from our reality (people die and basically nothing happens, the authorities usually don't give a damn - I find it funny in a way lol)

While very different cosmetically, the themes and core spirit of the mangas are very similar. That is a:

-Comically overpowered mc that unexpectedly beats down and overpowers opponents
-Tropey villains that are very overtly villainous but get beaten for the mc's pleasure (in dragonball its simply Goku loving to fight, and in this case it's Scarlett loving to get to beat up evil people)
-Seamingly serious arcs that constantly end up getting resolved through simple, light hearted beat em ups from the mc
-The Prince is the equivalent of Bulma in Dragonball in the sense that he funds their activities and the collateral damage that Scarlett would end up causing, along with providing his influence for their goals.
-And finally an overarching serious storyline that could lead to some major genuine conflicts in the future.  read more

they both share the concept of meet a certain objective  to have a wish fufilled (Gantz score 100 or more points  and Dragon Ball  collect 7 dragon balls) and typically   wishing a friend or comrade back to life is the common wish in both series   and usually these things are tedious to obtain so much battles and adventures    they go through great lengths just to obtain each thing. similar game..similar request..

Did you know that To Love-Ru's creators were big Dragon Ball fans and took a lot of inspiration from there too?  Devilukeans are like Saiyans and Lala herself is a lot like Goku (she even dresses up like him one time).  They are just lovable idiots who often change the characters' lives.

Jujutsu Kaisen addpermalink

The main argument as to why I think these two manga are similar, is the energy that both Toriyama and Akutami bring to the page. Jujutsu Kaisen and Dragon Ball have the most vibrant panelling that I've seen in the entire medium, action scenes are incredibly intricately choreographed, but drawn in a way that is easy to follow, characters can pop out of their respective panels, and the two styles of actually constructing a page of manga (which are extremely important, but often unnoticed when reading) are energetic but digestible in the best ways possible. 
Another similarity is the fact that the action never stops in either of the two series. Akutami & Toriyama don't waste time by letting things build up more than they should and more often than not jump straight into the central conflict, which is very gratifying as a weekly reader (regarding Jujutsu Kaisen only). read more

The character Vegeta in Dragonball is based on Tetsuo from Akira. Also the quickly escalating conflicts and the near-cosmic level of destruction in both these action manga makes them similar, if the difference in tone is significant (Akira is grittier and darker). Two cult works, if you went through the one there is reason enough to go through the other.

The saiyans and chozo are similar enough, along with the Freeza force and Space Pirates.  They tell rather different beasts of stories but considering how there is a focus of what the future may be I'm sure only may like the other.

Both Dragon ball and Hajime no Ippo are flagships of Sueisha and Kodansha (respectively). They both have intense battle scenes and arcs and have an unparalleled sense of humor.

Both Nanatsu no Taizai and Dragon Ball are similar in that they are both fun adventure/battle manga that don't take themselves too seriously but can still pack an emotional punch when it needs too and are mainly about adventure. 
The art in Nanatsu no Taizai is also very Toriyama esque.

SHounen, both have a good splash of comedy mixed in with the seriousness of it as well as action sequences that are all different, complex, yet easily understandable. They all hold that rheum of fantasy. And I just find that people who liked DBZ typically like FMA as well.

they are kind of similar by what comedy comes in the first episode like in dragon ball goku checking bulma with no common sense of a regular kid,in the other hand bo bo bo comes until all the people have lost there hair but when it shows beauty a bout to get hair snatched then bo bobo shows up the comdey starts when mr pickle gets left behind

In both manga/manhua, the protagonist started out as an average 'human' with decent powers. Later, as the story progresses they both end up really strong.

Coiling dragon and Dragon ball both have similar genres. Such as; supernatural, martial arts, adventure, and some romance.

10/10 !!

It may sound weird but these series are quite similar (in my opinion). Basically in both series you fight more and more stronger enemies and/or organisation. The fight and both of these are really good with awersome super powers. SDK has a better plot but if you liked dragon ball and you wanna read something with the same level of action but for a older audience then check out SDK, its awesome.

Characters are similar in terms of what they go through, their mannerisms and their roles in the story (for instance, both Yusuke & Goku are the main characters who itch for a good fight), and both series' action is dependent on a mix of martial arts and energy blasts.

If you used to laugh your heart out with Dragon Ball and it's hilarious comedy you will feel at ease reading Ruler of the Land. Both follow a monogatari style, basically it's the growth of the main character as time passes by. Our main characters live in their own way in a world of Martial Arts; Ruler of the Land abuses of ecchi and sarcasm to make a hilarious series worthy of a comedy Masterpiece, and with enough chapters to last a story like Dragon Ball with their inner plot that isn't our main focus on the story.
