Strobe edge and Ao Haru Ride are manga from the similar author, io-sensei. Both story is about the struggles of a teenager falling in love with the popular guy in school. Both mangas have characters with unique and strong personalities which are lovable to love and to hate. The storyline might sounds cliche but io-sensei is really the master in depicting these type of stories. The sweet moments make you happy, the sad moments make you cry. It is really amazing how the characters grows in both manga. Definitely worth reading.

Both are high school romances where the main protagonist is stuck in a love triangle between one guy who she loves but can't quite have and another guy who she doesn't notice until he confesses, and both love interests are so damn likable that you can't help but root for both of them. If you seek the guilty pleasure of shoujo rom-com cliches, Hirunaka no Ryuusei and Ao Haru Ride are chock-full of adorable moments that will make your heart squeal.

Both stories involves a bit cliche romance theme wherein the girl meets the boy and they fall in love. But don't underestimate both manga. The authors have this really unique skills in getting the readers ask for more and have these 'Feels Trip' while reading the manga. It wanna makes you feel nostalgic in teens love. Both manga will give you laughter and heartaches that makes you wanna hug each character.

There are lot similarities in Ao Haru Ride to Kimi ni Todoke. Both mangas are from genres school life and slice of life. Both mangas have relationships: student&teacher, childhood friends and classmates. Both mangas have great and moving moments and both are very enjoyable! So... If you liked Kimi ni Todoke then you might like Ao Haru Ride.

Both are good cliche shoujo romantic drama stories. The simplistic and sincere art and storytelling distinguish them from others in way that the emotions slowly but deeply seeps into the heart. The story is the same in the sense that both characters are in mutual love, but circumstances of the guy pull them apart. Specifically, the death of someone that makes the guy 1.) broken - blaming their self, unable to trust and love again 2.) sympathetic of others (girl-potential hindrance) who share the same experience, feeling responsibility, unable to leave them. And all this while, the girl is left confused and hurting - so another  read more

Both are by Sakisaka Io, so the mangas have the same feel to it and the story is also quite similar where the girl falls for a guy who is unable to return her feelings and there is also the relationships of other characters.

In both of these, the boy and the girl both liked each other when they were little. But due to some misunderstandings, they never end up going out. After not having seen each other for a few years, the boy returns after being transferred and their romance picks up again. I really like both of these manga because they have similar artworks and storyline. They are both adorable and leave my hearth feeling very warm and sweet.

Both of them have drama and a love triangle. Additionally, both of them have plots that are well developed and not extremely predictable which is what makes reading these two mangas a thrill. :) Love both of them, especially the artwork.

Both series are classic shoujo with a lot of relationship building. The main guy has more or less of an indifferent personality but does open up especially with the main female lead. Both series also crafts romance with interpersonal connections. Anyone who is interested in some shoujo should give both a try.

Both have very nice art. As a shoujo manga lover myself I know you will like Ao Haru Ride just as much as you like Boku Kara.

The protagonist falls in love with the male lead, then there is a friend of hers who falls in love with her as well. Both are shojo manga and both follow the usual situations found in this kind of manga. The art is quite similar between the two, as well as many of the characters.

Ao Haru Ride and Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji has a lot of classic rom-com themes. The main male protagonist has a stoic-like personality who rarely shows their true personality in front of others. However, we do see their kinder side when they interact with the main female protagonist. Both series explores youth and has strong relationship developments not just for the main characters but also others that has a connection with them. They also take place in a school life setting with a lot of drama.

both manga is a little more than simple romance, characters have some home related problems and it affects their characters. oh and the main characters know each other before. and they are good too.
reportRecommended by ameba_95
Both involve a two friends falling in love with the same guy, the guy having a girl that is obsessed with him and him feeling the need to protect her and accompany her then having someone act as a temporary boyfriend to the heroine although Ao Haru ride has less crying and much better art

In Parfait Tic!, Fuuko is similar to Futaba from Ao Haru Ride. Ichi seem to be similar to Kou and Daiya seems to be similar to Touma. While i was reading Parfait Tic!, the same thought kept on running through my mind-" No fair! Why does it feel so much like Ao Haru Ride!" In my opinion they are both great mangas. I hated how both made me feel the same emotions in different ways. It felt as I never wanted to read something like Ao Haru Ride again as I will regret reading them cause i want to keep reading although the manga  read more

Similarities - A girl and a boy who used to know each other when they were young meet again after 10 years - Similar silly atmosphere (although Ao Haru Ride was more serious and sad at times) - The guy can be a bit immature sometimes, but there are moments when he shows a lot of care Differences - This manga is incredibly short-lived - This is more light-hearted and cutesy

Both mangas are about two highschoolers and a love story developing between them. Protagonists face a lot of trouble together and slowly change each other.

Relationships change, break, or are made. And sometimes, people don't accept that. They will run away, actively hide away their feelings, or chase after the past. Or all of it, as in Ao Haru Ride and Country Girl. Either world deals with the inevitable changes which come after the transition from middle school to high school. While Country Girl attempts to restore a group of friends, featuring a uniquely gloomy atmosphere at times, Ao Haru Ride tries to establish a new group, focusing on romantic, fluffy settings. Two worlds revolving around adolescence, complementing each other in a delicious fashion.

Both are amazing stories containing life struggles, love, learning to be yourself, and friendship.

the love interests have similar personalities

Both center around high school and finally coming out of your shell to make friends. dealing with past trauma. impact of friendships and romance in highschool. Both male lead have issues with making friends due to past events and their respective female lead gives them the support they needed. Do read them both <3 (pro: supporting characters are also well written)

Both of these manga are some of my favourites in the shoujo romance category. Although, I don't think I should be comparing the two since "Mars" was obviously much better. Mars covers a lot of heavy topics while Ao Haru Ride is just one of those shoujo manga with a bit of drama in it. I recommend Ao Haru Ride as a light read, even though it's a bit frustrating to sit through it.

Similar character tropes, and a strong female lead.

the story begins all happy and wholesome until the male mcs past is revealed, mcs don't feel the same about the girl mcs which is just to prevent things from getting worse, in skip and loafer, shima doesnt understand how mitsumi feels and makes her upset because people are making fun out of her saying if she was dating her, it'd only be a joke. in ao haru ride, he rejects her because he's too busy thinking about what would happen if he left his girl "friend" who suffered like him. both mcs past has a childhood girl that has secret feelings for them and wants  read more

Both manga are from the same author ... Kinda of similar feeling while reading.. some pretty lovely art and heart flattering moments ....

I started reading high school debut and now I can't stop thinking that yoh and haruna give manjor kou and futaba vibes with the not so girly fl and a quiet mysterious ml.. both couples have their troubles at first, then they get together at some point... I also love the dynamics and comedy in both manga..

display of youth in more or less sense combined with romance ao haru ride has much more drama than ReLIFE tho
reportRecommended by K1ngOfSloth
Both manga have the same plot. On and off again boy and girl, they love each other but cant convey their feelings. I personally like the way B.O.D.Y. handles the cliche more so than the way Ao Haru Ride does, but that's just preference. So if you've read and liked one of these manga the other would be a great next read!
reportRecommended by Ya_Boy
The feeling and characters are veryyy similar, plot - not so much. In terms of themes in both mangas is present the theme of the girl saving the boy from his past demons, and being in terms saved by him. The romance is also similar - how it progresses and the chemistry.

If you like shoujo romances where the two main leads are jumping around their feelings for each other and even dating others then you'll love Ao Haru Ride

with the exception that masamune is 10 times better they're love story with some twisted love triangles

Although the plot is quite different as Kinkyori is Teacher-Student relationship while Ao Haru Ride is between classmates/childhood classmate. The Female Lead Uri kind of reminds me of Futuba in Ao Haru Ride. Both are refreshing characters and not the typical shoujo girls. They are both strong, funny, dependable and outright straight forward. Uri reminds me of Futuba when they are embarrassed the expression they make are so similar and they shrink bodies and faces at times almost the same. They are both crybabies and with solid friends nearby supporting them. Of course there has to be the rival love from the past of the  read more

Both girls are considered very pretty and because of that, they are misunderstood and ostracized by the girls (and receive a lot of attention from boys) and have trouble with the one they like.

Ao Haru Ride and Suki desu Suzuki-kun!! are rom-com series that details character relationships. Romance is a pivotal part of the main leads' development with the main femle characters. Through building connections, they establish a deeper meaning in their relationship. The story also involves bits of the past that connects with the present story. As such, expect background stories to be explored. Drama is also very evident in both series as characters goes through some emotional scenarios.

Ao Haru Ride and L-DK are romantic comedy series with a decent amount of drama. In particular, the main guy are known for their cold attitudes. However, their connection with the main female lead throughout both series shows a different side of them. As the story develops, we learn more about their past and personality. There is also love triangles that becomes more evident as the story progresses.
reportRecommended by Stark700
Taking place in a school life environment, both series focuses on the character lives, relationships, and their development. The main male protagonist has a similar personality and often times has a hard time opening up towards people. Their connections with a female main protagonist reveals quite a bit about themselves. Both series expresses romance themes with lighthearted humor. However, do also expect drama to develop as their story progresses.

Another have a light feeling around them. Both have a soft art. When it comes to dept, ao Haru ride is more, considering it has more chapters. Both also have the guy influencing the girl. I just got a bit similar vibe from both the series

The way the story makes me confused, annoyed and in love is similar. I can't say it properly but one manga makes me think of the other. See for yourself :))

this manga is similar to Ao Haru Ride, in a few ways. 1) it has beautiful art. 2) the story, its essentially the same (the girl and the guy have a budding romance until he leaves abruptly.) 3) he returns and after a while & they find themselves drawn to each other. 4) its about friends, Ao Haru Ride is not only about Futaba but also the other people around her (classmates), I ♥ HS also has active side characters. 5) they're both are comedy school life shoujos.

For whatever reason, this is the manga I thought of most the further I got into Ao Haru Ride. Both have headstrong female characters that start out being timid, but then decide to change themselves for the better. Both have male leads that seem cold and distant, but gradually you can start to see them warming up to the female lead in a really cute way. I totally recommend Skip Beat! to anyone who likes Ao Haru Ride, though the art style is completely different. Much more pointy haha. I personally love both styles.

Both series give the reader light and feathery feelings while reading them. The stories focus on love and connection/bonds. Each posseses characters with complexes and strong emotions. They both give same feeling while reading them, I highly recommend these two.

In both series, the two main characters has a past that brings them to where they are in the present. Although the main female protagonist's personalities aren't alike, they do hold a lot of the same values such as friendship and kindness with others. As such, the main male protagonist has a curious interest in them. Both series follows a lot of the classic shoujo tropes including romance that develops as the story progresses. There is drama and lighthearted comedy that takes place in a school life setting.
reportRecommended by Stark700
Ao Haru Ride and Akaiito crafts a story of romance based on experiences and youth with its main cast of characters. Both series has its standard shoujo elements and takes place in a school life setting. The story also plays part with the past that includes childhood. Both series adapts relationship dynamics between multiple protagonists. There is love triangles and drama that also develops as the story progresses.

Futaba and Chihaya are really similar. They both want to be "the best version of themselves" and keep trying to change for better. They are strong and can stand for themselves. In both mangas we have love triangle between one gril and two boys although romance is more important in Ao Haru Ride, and in Chihayafuru it's on second plan (first is karuta).

In both mangas the main character meets her first love again once in high school after he sort of disappeared without a good explaination (in Kimi to Koi no Tochuu they were dating while in Ao Haru Ride they liked each other). In both mangas the guy had to move away and they lost contact causing a misunderstanding although they both had real feelings for each other. Also both heroines start to date another guy who is very tender and nice and wants to make them forget about the first guy. Basically they are both good high school shoujos with triangles. Quite similar story line - male lead with slice of life, both male and female lead are childhood friends, lost contact suddenly and met back during high school. Also has similar scene for triangle love. Kou has very similar character with Yuzuru except for the fighting part.

Both series' main male protagonist are similar with their cold and sarcastic personality. However, we do get see a bit of of their softer side especially through the relationship they develop with the main female character. Both series focuses on relationship dynamics that includes friendship, romance, and rivalries. There is also similarity between the main female protagonist in both series as they are cheerful and always eager to make new friends. Both series has lighthearted comedy although also contains drama as the story progresses.

Love triangles, Childhood sweethearts, drama and happiness... If that was what you liked about this manga, well that would be what you will find on the other one. Both will tell the story of a girl who once a again will meet with her childhood sweetheart for whom she still has some feelings. Also, if you liked how the main couple overcame their struggles, well, in both mangas the couple had pretty much the same problems and they dealt with them in a similar way.

A group of friends, school setting, slice of life elements, cute art, romance with some back story which affects the present, love triangle and similar feeling. Refreshing main females and cool type of main males. Though the male in Sora to Kimi to has a simpler and easy to get along with personality, unlike the one in Ao Haru Ride.

Both mangas have a similar premise. Two people, who once had feelings for each other in middle school, reunite in high school (AoHaruRide) or university (Motokare) after not seeing each other for years. Where would their reunion and past feelings lead to? Ao Haru Ride has more drama than Motokare. Motokare is mostly a light-hearted manga.
