Both focus on a magical girl going after magical items that have effects on humans around them.

Pixie Pop and Shugo Chara! both have little fairy-like creatures helping them. Amu meets Ran, Miki and Su when she wishes to be more like her ''real'' self. Mayu has Puchou who she meets when she drinks Puchou's juice to grow bigger. They both get into serious troubles regarding those little fairies, for Amu it are the sudden chara-changes and for Mayu it is if if she drinks something something happens to her body and she can turn invisible for example. Another thing that they have in common is that the both got rejected by the man of their dreams and try to make him  read more

Both have magical girl elements (magic), love, drama and comedy. They also have a similar romantic issues involving a girl possibly falling in love with two completly different (personality and physically wise) boys.

Both titles tell about young girls (around 10) that get involved with magic affairs. They include drama, comedy, romance and school life. I also saw some similarities between Natsume and Ikuto (they even have the same "nickname", The Black Cat). Both are great and worth reading..if you liked/loved one you'll surely enjoy the other.

Mega-cute magical girl series -- if you like one, why not try another? Both are as much about the love lives of the preteen protagonists as they are about saving the world, so that's another element they have in common.

Giving new life to the dead, or creating new life from the unknown. Yes, it is supernatural phenomenons. Comedy and a slice of school life, along with the very similar art of the two series. And i mean it literally, as you can compare a character from each series and only be able to find little differences in their appearance. Other than that, the plot will always take the turn for the unexpected.

Small spirits causing trouble in school life and helping girls achieve their goals.
reportRecommended by Airy
Magical girl series featuring a schoolgirl who puts on a fake cool personality but gradually learns how to be herself.

The two paralles of the magical girl manga. Sailor moon is the "old innovative school" one, while Shugo chara! represents the "new school" of the magical girl manga. Both are however pretty good.

From same publisher of bishoujo manga...magical girl and romance

Living beings help the heroine when she's in trouble. They are alive thanks to the girl. Cute and funny.

Both are cute school mangas.

it kind of resemble the fact that people are hiding what they feel and how they really want to act ~

in both the main girl is famous in school an many guys fall for her

Both main characters team up with a group known as 'the Guardians' in order to rescue people's hearts. The key difference is that Amu is a magical girl with a string of transformations and Hakka is, if anything, an accessory to Ginger. Both were also published in the shoujo magazine Nakayoshi, therefore they're aimed at the exact same demographic.

Prétear and Shugo Chara are two magical girl series with a protagonist who has similar levels of "toughness" (Himeno's self-defense abilities and Amu's self-perception), bright warm-colored hair, and a situation where they end up being with several others who have knowledge and abilities of the magic in their respective series (some of which are boys). There is also good artwork and some romance in both series.

Mistress Fortune and Shugo Chara are two magical girl manga series centered around romance, features a magical boy as well as a magical girl, and have similar appeal with beautiful artwork.

No Match for Aoi-kun and Shugo Chara are two magical girl manga about the main character who accidentally get caught up in some typical magical girl antics. The main character has a secret that they're trying to hide from others and hasn't really made any friends due to their insecurities. However, the character soon finds themselves changing and getting new friends as the story goes along, complete with fighting fantasy monsters along the way.

Both of them have a girl with a special ability , that is forced to join the student council because of that ability and protect the students , hunting down the X eggs in shugo chara or the jokers in full moon joker.

Moe Kare's character design reminded me a lot of the characters from Shugo Chara!... but that's the only real similarity. Moe Kare is targeted are a more mature audience

Lots of people I know who like one of these series, always likes the other. At first glance, Shugo Chara! and Shinshi Doumei Cross are really...not very similar at all. One is mahou shoujo, the other is without any fantasy at all. The ages of the characters are also, very different. But the Guardians and the Student Council are sort of similar. Both are filled with people with really fun personalities. In fact, one of the characters in each have a very similar secret~! It seems strange recommending this when the other seems so different. But really, from my experience, if you enjoy one, you'll likely enjoy  read more

A strong will and an egg. Both series pair these two elements together with a bit of childhood innocence. In both stories, the main character has a strong desire and faith in what comes from the egg. While Angelic Layer may be a tad old, it's worth the look if you like the feel Shugo Chara! has in it, as Angelic Layer has a similar one.

These two manga are similar due to the fact that they both consists of Cute, Trasfomation, and have Mini Companions. :D

Both is full of adventures and excitement!! Both in thier own unique ways but are similar at the same time. Both main characters have the same goal: To protect and love the ones around them and release thier inner power!! ^__^

When I was reading Shugo Chara, I was always reminded of Mamacolle because of the three mini companions both main female characters share. The group of friends that have unique personalities stick together also relate to eachother. Also, they are both cute, romantic and fantasy-type mangas.
reportRecommended by sarahj55
Both series start off being about characters who put up a false front in public and have to learn how to be themselves. Kare Kano heads in a somewhat dark direction as it explores the repercussions of a situation like that, while Shugo Chara! heads in a magical girl direction for a happier, more positive tone.
reportRecommended by lithiumflower
Both have girls who become involved with thier school werid student councils. The main characte in both has a special destiney. Also Ikuto in Shugo Chara! is as smexy and perverted as Kurou, with a similar dark past.
reportRecommended by warriorhope
well think about it, the characters are very similar(ex: yuuya and amu,ame like Nadeshiko) instead of being popular there hated, "guardians" then the "strawbery dorm" kinda similar but the characters are very similar
