(And these are just the most visible ones)
Agh.
This is a clear case of massive downvoting, and let's be honest: all of this is happening because some idiot thought it was a good idea to show a list full of titles with great scores in a site widely known for score manipulation, and obviously the trolls/haters didn't miss the oportunity; in all honesty, I was aware that this could happen, even to the scale we're seeing, but I was expecting that maybe even with all of the usual scandals in MAL related to score, this list could get rid from it, but that isn't the case, so I decided to stop temporarily. From here on, I'm in middle of three options:
1. To close the list permanently, preventing any kind of downvoting.
2. To move the list to some more secure place where it can be safer from the views of the downvoters.
3. To continue the same way we did thus far, despite of the downvoting.
With this list I wanted to show you something I found really interesting, and share it with everyone, especially with those who could get to appreciate it, I wanted to show you some of those gems that might deserve some more recognition, to give them a spotlight, for little it was, to shine in middle of this giant ocean, but it became a source of massive score manipulation instead, which destroys the mere purpose of this list. And yeah, I know that true men of culture don't care about things such as ratings in MAL, but there's people who either care or find this interesting, so this is still a big problem; and I don't wanna let the downvoters take this list as a tool for them to continue doing that anymore. So I ask you for your opinion on the topic, what should be the path to follow from here on to stop these incidents? And this time I need some real answers, I know that all the stuff related with list is exclusively responsibility of mine, but I think this time the decision needs to be more consensual.
And if you're wondering why the list is disabled, I know that a post about downvoting is obviously kind of a incitement for this to continue happening, though the episodes here listed still can be a subject of this so till a decision is taken, the list will stay this way; I did the same with the posterior comment because that episode is still being downvoted, even after all the harm already done. I may be naive, but I ain't stupid. |
