Beautiful ending, the after credits scene where they are walking in the autumn leaves together and she joyously calls to him was so heartwarming. Much like the cruel ending to the Chobits manga which left Chii forever chaste, the Usagi Drop manga had a horrid conclusion, I prefer to go with the Anime Canon for Usagi Drop and imagine that Rin & Kouki eventually play matchmakers ala The Parent Trap, or maybe in their high school days, hoping to see their folks finally find romantic companionship. Regardless the Anime & ending in it was beautiful, she needed someone to nurture her and in turn gave him a reason to live better & more responsibly for her AND himself. She became the little light of his life 10/10

loved it. this is the part where i'd say i hate that the second half of the manga exists and am glad they ended it here and leave us to our imagination....totally would prefer if they called an audible at the time and have the adults hook up.
glad there's no 2nd season, its fine the way it is

Great, fluffy and a charming show!

Daikichi and Rin’s progression over the course of the eventful year was very heartwarming and cozy to see! Initially, I thought the premise of this show was a little whacked with the Rin being Daikichi’s Aunt and all that, but there’s no denying it really made me invested into it right away. And then the sweet fluffiness, I’m totally satisfied! It’s a bit sad that Kouki’s mother and Daikichi aren’t getting together even after all the teases but it really is better this way after all. Kouki and Rin though, yep totally can see that happening but sadly I’m aware of how the original source ends so it’s a pity. Additional Characters aside from the main ones was really nice too. Daikichi’s parents, at first I didn’t have the best impression of them but as the show gradually progressed it was nice to see them every now and then. As for the various parents introduced, they really made this show feel like a parental manual as a whole and I loved it even though I’m just a teenager oddly enough. Production IG specialises in other genres but they really did an astonishing job with this, props to them!

All in all, a solid 8/10! 11 Episodes really isn’t enough at all, I’d really like to know more about Rin’s mothers decisions and such because even now I’m not convinced with her reason. Still so many things to ponder on too, but a great watch nevertheless!

It was a great anime and I could watch more episodes, ending didnt feel like an ending but after hearing about what happens at the manga I can say anime producers did their best. 10/10

I would give this series a fair 8/10 overall. I wish the Anime would have still continued, the ending just did not satisfy me that much.

Really loved the series, nothing flashy or too melodramatic, as one might expect from such a series, just feel good.

eh this was perfectly ok show.. nothing special. Felt like collection of stories I've seen somewhere before that didn't add any new spin to it. Really wished this was more interesting instead just being cute show.

An absolutely fantastic ending to one of the best shows ever. It's only been a year. A year! Just look at how much Rin has matured and opened up. Daikichi's become one great father to her as well.

I tell ya, if you don't feel any sort of joy from watching this anime you're doing something wrong.
yeah I've felt the joy. And I've also read manga and the ending was absolute God level. Loved it.

I was hesitant to watch this series after knowing what happens in the second half of the manga. Even knowing the anime is all sweet it still made me feel a little uncomfortable watching the first few episodes. Thankfully, I got over that fast. This series really was adorable. There was so much potential to continue. It's a a shame the author is a complete sicko and ruined the entire thing.

Well.. Not everyone is enjoying life with the child.. Some do.. But if someone wants something different, I don't see any wrong in this really.. ;p
Well.. I'm glad if Daikichi truly enjoyed time with Rin, these memories are dear for him or something.. ;p
Em.. I'm not sure about statement that children' smiles are getting even bigger.. Aren't children with age on the contrary get more serious, and less energetic, and everything?..
Overall, it was a nice anime.. Not usual topic for anime, so it was interesting to see happy little moments they experienced, and hardships they overcame successfully.. I feel that we didn't get enough Masako and Haruko, their points of view, but well in the life it's like this.. You already have plenty of things to deal in your own life, you don't really learn too in deep about people around, to be honest.. .. I wonder, why when asked in the past about what child I'd want in my life - a boy, or a girl.. That I answered girl.. I don't know really, I can't remember.. I'm interested, why I answered like that.. And kinda interested, why this question matters at all.. But well, these days a bit far from now.. Maybe if I'd watch this series back then, maybe I'd have a bit different look on what potential family is, or maybe not.. For now I feel that main hero was put in circumstances, when he had to take caring role, but I'd imagine that this situation is pretty different from usual family.. This anime shows more brighter side, of relationship between father and daughter.. But family isn't only this.. It's also relationship between woman and man, and again I feel that main hero gets lucky, when others around are only touched, but not shown more - Masako and Haruko having their difficulties.. This anime doesn't go too in deep with their problems.. But well, it's alright, you can't expect anime to show everything in 11 episodes.. And Daikichi and Rin also had their problems to overcome.. It was just more about parent-child problem, when in usual family adds woman-man problems as well.. In the end.. I'm still satisfied with parent-child relationship shown.. Made me remember some things I went through myself, what together was done, like leaves in books, or taking photos, or teeth changing, illness, many many things.. They are somehow in the past now more for me, for better or worse.. I'm not sure, if I'd be binge watching more series like this in my life.. Maybe if would like to imagine potential parent-child relationship more, which could be pretty nice.. Though, after this anime I now still feel lack of family picture, as I don't really remember any anime who shows full family, including woman-man in married life.. Does it eventually only turn into care about children?.. Not necessary, of course, I feel.. I think that after this anime I have more questions than answers, but maybe I'll be more interested in family relationships in future watching whichever anime.. Parents are often just absent in many anime, though, lol.. ;p But they are still there sometimes, I guess.. Like playful couple of Nagisa's parents in Clannad, and I can't even remember more right now, lol.. ;p Well, anyway.. I think I'll think about family topic some more after this anime.. If I'll actually manage to remember parents, lol.. ;p And for now.. Thanks for recommending, Secret Santa! Hope you have just as enjoyable time, because it was pretty enjoyable series for me to watch.. ;p

I enjoyed the series overall but had bigger expectations due to the high MAL rating. It’s very slice of life and cute with great character growth, but the ending left me hanging and obviously there is no season 2 coming. Ended up trying out the manga after and was very shocked.. I’ll leave it at that.

I thought it was the perfect ending. Yes, nothing really "happened" but that's why I liked it, it implies life will continue on with the two of them living together and what we saw was just the beginning. For the second half of the show I was expecting it to end with the mother coming back into the picture and wanting to re-take custody and all sorts of drama. I didn't want to deal with that, so I'm happy it was avoided and the mother did not re-appear at all. A few times I was getting irritated with Daikichi for having kept reaching out to her, like at the cemetery. She's probably a nice person but clearly does not have her life in order yet and is not fit to raise a child, so it's better she focused on her career instead for now. Actually, I thought the way they were alluding to her overworking herself there was going to be a call that she was in the hospital and it'd lead to Rin visiting with that kind of drama. Glad that didn't happen either. I just wanted a cute and happy show and it delivered so no complaints.

Why I haven't heard and watched this early? It's really really good and wholesome! There's no episode that I'm not hooked up. Glad that Production I.G adapt this, it's a freakin hidden gem SOL anime. 10/10 for this. I never felt so satisfying after watching an certain anime before :)

From what I've heard, the whole manga/LN of this, continuing from where the anime left off, they said it's a trainwrecked and depressing. I'm thinking of reading it because it's too wholesome and enjoyable but no thanks. I don't need that disappointing ending. I'm with how the anime ends

Wth was everyone on about it being weird anol I found nothing of the sort however the old bastard that died he was a creep for doing what he did and the whore Masako not taking responsibility of the consequences (her child Rin) but other than that it was one of if not the most realistic and heartwarming series I have watched. Just wish thet explored into the mothers past and her reasonsfor her actions

People who complain about Usagi Drop are usually talking about the manga. If you liked the anime do not read the manga, it has a completely different ending (it continues on many years past the anime).

That was good. It ended nicely. And I enjoyed it as best I could despite being aware of the manga's bullshit ending. However, that knowledge did hinder my enjoyment quite a bit.

Or maybe I just really wanted to watch Arcane, but had to finish this first because I want to finish one thing before moving on to the next lol. But no really this anime by itself, is good. I would like to see more- but they would have to fix a lot of things to not make it super weird.

After watching all 11 episodes and all the special episodes:

Usagi Drop is captivating because of its atmosphere, the voice acting (which sounds realistic for all the characters), and its just a very sweet anime.

As for the negatives, Usagi Drop sometimes in some episodes, it can be slow-paced.

Still, a great slice of life anime.

Not a fan of the slow pacing stuff but it's a light-hearted SOL after all and it's forgettable, I wish there was more depth to the inner monologue to form a great characterization but alright with the ending. 6/10. I've read the manga beforehand and thank god this doesn't get a sequel, fuck you mangaka for making such a wholesome series into
.

My favourite childcare anime is this one. I liked it more than spy family, wolf children, kakishigato. Pacing, osts fit so much for an iyashikei anime like this. Father and daughter relationship was so cute, realistic and heart warming imo. I couldn't hold the tears because of the cuteness of the anime and characters <3

Ah, what a sweet final episode. Really glad to see that Daikichi's parents have really warmed up to Rin. They even have her pictures as if she's their granddaughter.

Sweet. Heartwarming. Lovely. Beautiful. Wish there were more. I'm probably not going to read the manga because I've heard the ending ruins the story or something, so I'm stopping here and at the specials.

An easy 8/10.

Diabetes on a disc, just super sweet all over. I wish they could've milked it for another 12 eps (haven't read the manga so I don't know how it continues, but considering the backlash, they could've done just all original stories until she graduates elementary school).

So proud of Rin getting her little certificate! And backwards! PROUD.

And no I didn't literally just cry more when Daikichi takes her picture and talking about her smile. NOPE.

This episode further reinforced my decision to remain childless. The world can call me selfish all it wants, but I believe it is even more selfish if I bring my hypothetical offspring into this cruel & dying world, and I wouldn't be able to care for him/her since I'm too busy with my lifestyle. Nowadays, there are so many things to do and so little time.

Also, it looks fun to take care of kids until they grow up into their teens and develop teen angst. Haha

I've been wracking my brain for a day over what's bad about this show, but I'm coming up empty. I guess Rin is somewhat unrealistically precocious and wholesome? But that's a feature, not a bug.

Really nice and refreshing anime. But I'm not a fan of the whole "Grandpa x Masako" and "Grandpa is Rin's biological father" thing. Those things were really bothering me whenever the said characters were shown or mention. I have seen many weird stuff in anime and manga and I'm definitely not one of those who complaint about things like that but I just think it's such a shame that series as wholesome and good has those kind of elements which are easily avoidable.

I haven't read the manga so I don't know if there is some plot twist like "oh no Grandpa is not Rin's biological father" or something, that would atleast make things better than what is now but I heard that after time skip the series goes downhill and that infamous stupid ending are the reason I don't want to waste my time reading the manga.
