| Until now, Godai has done everything for himself. He's been earning money, going to school, and trying to get closer to Kyoko. Yet he never looked out for anyone else. It was sweet of him to take Kentaro to the beach, and it made for a heartwarming story. Is it too early to pair Kentaro + Ikuko? haha edit: The next episode does just that. Too cute! >< |

| hellogoodbye is right, IMO; it was really nice to see Godai even suggest taking Kentaro to the beach, without any sort of 'hidden agenda' or anything in doing so. Seems Takahashi has a thing for making characters deeply afraid of common household pets. (Cats in Ranma 1/2, and now dogs...) |

| Yes! Mitaka has a dog phobia! Not so perfect now are you! >:) Really glad that Godai didn't do anything embarrassing for once ( must be 'cause the tenants weren't there lol)and that he actually was nice enough to take Kentarou to the beach so that he could have some fun in the summer. It was also fun to see Godai being upset with Kyoko ( he has feeling too, y'know!) P.S. That boy actually has a dad?! I thought he was "out of the picture" lol |

| Ryuunosuke's father from Urusei Yatsura made a brief cameo sweeping up in the beach parking lot parking lot toward the end. |

| This is a rather sweet episode and the first one I really liked. Godai seems like a major prick based on the beginning episodes- though I feel that is intentional for character growth later in the series. This episode is the first where we feel he is a really good guy- he feels bad enough for the kid based on his own childhood experience to invite him to the beach. I'm expecting to see more moments like this from Godai in the future- hopefully executed as well as in this episode. |

| The comedy worked and it ended up being a quite sweet episode, more of this please. If it wasn't more obvious he had no chance with Kyouko how about being afraid of her pet? :F His rivalry with Yuusaku has been entertaining. |

| I found this beach episode being really good, I don't mind the extra rival lover, he is adding some fun to the show, putting Goudai working for it, and it was funny to see his reactions to the dog. Seeing Kyouko driving like that at the end was scary. :DS |

Felt the same, the dog definitely helps, it is because you can see the character weakness and vulnerability, and from that comic scenes came, so you kinda end up finding him less annoying, and more of a comic relief, along Goudai.

If anything, there are episodes further in where this is rivalry actually feels like bullshit, but that is could also be attributed to the shift writing for the Kyouko, which is she accepting things that'll don't make sense. Her writing can be really dumb, but I think that is a biproduct of this being a rather old series, and it being like that, back then. |
