not finding it funny, is another story. comedy is subjective. this is one of my favorite comedies, and episode 6 is probably one of the funniest episodes I have ever seen.

i was curious for the first few episodes, and after that nothing really happened, so it was just pretty average for me, some ideas were cool but nothing really memorable, and pretty much going in circles
i clearly prefered’the anime "New Game!" over this one

that show looked below average visually, was not nearly as creative with it's directing, non of the characters except arguably the main one had a memorable, or interesting personality, and the soundtrack was also the most generic thing to ever exist.

mix all that with it imo being significantly less funny than gamers, having way too large of a cast for it's own good, while also having an extremely dull art style, companied by the even duller characters designs, and I personally wouldn't even call it average.

I mean, I suppose Haven't you Heard? I am Sakamoto is a parody that relies on the concept of pushing things to their logical extremes, and I quite like that series. I suppose the issue here is that there isn't really that left much to exaggerate; just like creators of South Park avoids Trump jokes because of how already ridiculous Trump is, the cliches of romance anime are already so ridiculous that they're impossible to lampoon.

I never felt this was Gamers' intention, and I argue this isn't where my enjoyment thereof came from anyway.

I would argue that the "no you confess" aspect that kaguya is parodying is actually more extreme at it's default.  so I genuinely think the south park example works in this case.


also I didn't say it's a parody to take it say it's the smartest show out there. 

I made this post, because I've seen so many of the people who hate this show, hate it because they took it seriously. 

imagine if you went into sakamoto expecting him to fail, or getting annoyed at him looking cool.

or getting annoyed at the love is war due not confessing.

for some reason a lot of people just don't look at gamers as a parody, and I am near certain a big chunk of people would like it a lot more if they looked at it with that perspective, 

and I assure you that it is a parody. this show was way more self aware than people gave it credit for.

there are so many small jabs, that people for some reason just ignored. the last episode is a perfect example of this. it's an ova like episode after the "climax" where the characters are arguing about DLC in video games. and takes on that episode, almost perfectly mirror their conversation. which I am baffled by how some people didn't notice.

2. tomozaki is not really more liked than this neither. the score is slightly higher, but on the other hand gamers is much, much more popular. so it's not like the reception of that show is really "better". if anything, at least gamers has some die hard fans since it's a love it hate it kind of show. but I haven't seen anyone put tomozaki in their favorites.

1. The saying "comedy is subjective" is true but usually it is true at the extremes. If something is funny and the comedy is good most people (>855 of the viewers/listeners/readers) will find it funny. If in a spectacle hall there are 10k people and out of them only 9k laugh the joke was funny and the comedy is subjective for the 1k left, but if out of those ten thousand people only 1 thousand laugh and the rest gets annoyed or bored or leaves then comedy is not funny the joke was bad. The same principle applies to this show as well.
2. No matter how much [eople want to say it was a parody the truth is it wasn't, it was bad enough for farns to claim it was but it wasn't. And this argument is not about what people expect out of the show or how much they watched. I watched 6 and 1/2 episodes of Gamers! and went in this without any expectations, I didn't know what it was about or how the show is but by the time i dropped this show it made me hate romcom tropes in general and I liked them until now. 
3. Most of the times when people say that show is not good it means they did not like it that much but when they say that some aspects of it are way to bad to keep on enjoying the show that means they wanted to like the show, they liked some part of the show at some point but then the show tanked and went in the direction nobody wanted. 

In summary the show is trash, it isn't a parody, it wasn't targeted at someone else, it is simply trash. It has some good scenes that are funny but if out of a 23 minutes episode only 2 minutes are good, 15 minutes are forgetable and the rest is bad i am sorry to burst your bubble but the show is garbage.
