Oh my, all the energy of this OVA...special.

And not to mention, we get some creative outfits fit into the opener song alone.. Well I'm satisfied when it comes to entertainment. This definitely had a different feel compared to the regular episodes, probably because it focused a lot more on the "action" rather than acting. Go idols!

Is it the last episode of "Exodus"?

It's the first episode of Exodus!

The credits also appear to be done in-universe, as it uses names of characters from the series.

The closing credits also mentioned some real-life people, such as Studio Suu,
which I am fairly certain is located in Vietnam, based on the names of all of
their staff.

To be honest, I am not normally into the Fanservicey Cute Girls Action genre.
But I really enjoyed hearing the full version of the OP for Exodus, which was
played in Episode 1 of Shirobako when Aoi was driving around.

I'm hoping for a sample episode of "Jiggly Jiggly Heaven".

Never thought I would see fanservice from P.A. Works. Still the tone is all over the place, not surprised that it's written by Hiroyuki Yoshino.

An anime inside an anime came true, and the production value isn't too low. You don't see this very often.

Yes, that's for sure.

The 2-episode OVA series "Animation Runner Kuromi" (2001,2004) was all about
production of anime back at the time when animation technology was making the
transition from hand-painting on plastic cels to digital techniques. In their story, a
very small animation studio worked on several TV series:

- Luis Monde III
- Time Journeys 2
- Soreki Charmy
- Zombi Hunter Yamitarou
- Cat Man

As a result, it was necessary to create short pieces of each of these series to be
shown as part of the story. In the case of "Time Journeys 2", they only showed
the still cards prior to and following commercials, as well as the closing credits.
For "Zombi Hunter Yamitarou" they only showed a sequence of rough key
frames which gave a crude impression of animation. For "Cat Man", they only
showed the character designs. For the Cute Girls Action series "Soreki Charmy",
they did about five seconds of full-blown animation. For "Luis Monde III", they
did several segments which added up to about a minute. In addition, they
showed an example of the ugly results if poorly-drawn key frames were used
without an animation supervisor checking and correcting them.

Loved it! They should make 12 episodes! I hope they at least make a 2nd episode though I suspect if they only make 2 specials that the second one will be of Aerial Girls.

OP "I'm sorry Exodus" LOL.

That was fun, really fun.

That was, in a word: awesome.

The 70's style music during the chase (80's in Japan), the Dirty Harry reference, the car carrier that just "happened" to appear, the fact that a good dousing of water proves the best disguise, and the best cop car smashing since the Blues Brothers.

How much more fun can one have with an OVA bundle?

P.A. Works Musashino Animation did a great job with this.

I can't wait for the second OVA if it will be of "The Third Aerial Girls Squad".

Yeah, I wanna see the animation melt off the screen. XD

P.A. Works built such an awesome cast of characters in Shirobako, because now when I watch this, I think of the Musashino Animation staff. Really wanna see Third Aerial Girls Squad now.

Btw, was that "onee-san" they talked to over skype based on Miyamori? Her hair style was very similar.

Shitty CGI and Shitty idol songs to boot, no wonder no one came to watch their performance. Nonetheless it was fun to watch, the action was good and well-animated, strange coming from the director of Jiggly Jiggly Heaven. Anyway this probably would be one of my top shows this season, next to Strong-spirit Saddle, Amagi Amusement Park and Infinite Sword Collection.

A stupid, forgettable short that could have been much better executed. Mildly entertaining, but not much else. Are the same people asking for more of this the same ones that make Glasslip jokes all the time? In terms of quality, they're probably on the exact same level. A second season of Shirobako should remain the priority; we don't need more of this little waste of money.

In all honesty, you're right; it wasn't technically all that good. I'd call it effective as a single-episode special to promote Shirobako, though. For me, I found enjoyment in this by thinking about it as a product of Shirobako. It made me think more about Miyamori and the rest of the Musashino Animation staff than it made me think about Exodus as its own series or as a serious effort by P.A. Works. It makes me more excited about Shirobako. Hopefully a lot of other people feel the same way because I agree that a second season of Shirobako should remain the priority

Not bad. Some CGs seemed out of place tho.

I didn't see the names of the production staffs except Honda's and Ochiai's. No Yano or Miyamori or even Tarou. Is that how it is? But I'm pretty sure in episode one Miyamori's mom said she saw Miyamori's name in the credits.

I wish I could read kanji names like you do.

Anyway, that seating-on-a-public-restroom-while-eating-of-from-a-lidded-bowl scene was really something. But it was a fun watch, lots of energy in the characters and bgm. I wouldn't mind a mini series of this to fill-in my anime watching schedule gaps.

I agree, I wonder how Clint Eastwood would feel if he knew that he'd been parodied in a spoof Japanese moe anime. Mind you Dirty Harry wouldn't have hesitated to fire moe or no moe.

This was surprisingly good, and not even as a spinoff from Shirobako. Sure the beginning was kind of dull, but once the whole murder thing started it actually became quite interesting. I would love to see more of this one. There is a lot of potential, and questions I would like to see answered!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next one more, its probably going to be great!

I think the OP is the insert exodus song from the main anime, I really like some parts of it.

Exodus is surprisingly mature show when it comes to fanservice, I thought it was meant for kiddos (wait- didn't they say it had a different feel to it somewhere in the show? Guess I w
I love the voice of blue-haired girl.

The quality is pretty good. Can't believe these girls live in toilet tho.

What a way to gain followers, what an exeggeration. Man I think this has a lot of potential. The plot is very fresh, a framed idol group running away from everyone is awesome.

Alpine is way older than she looks, and she is... strangely cool with her bike-riding.

They look a lot cuter without make-up, thank God.

I do think this can be continue if PA works feels like it. I think they are looking if this sparks some interest among people. I would so watch a one-cour of it, it is really interesting.

Quite an interesting anime and I don't mind if it is made into a series! Though the beginning seems a little dull and too much fanservice(?), after being accused of murder, the escaping part was interesting and funny.-Like it a lot! And I prefer the Tracy girls without their make-ups. I would give it a rate of 8/10 for this first episode.
