Another fantastic episode and the conclusion to the Karasuno vs Dateko match. Nishinoya's reflexes are AMAZING! He saved the ball with his foot, just wow! Asahi's final spike moment was so awesome. That moment was just perfect, the OST was top-notch~ So happy that Karasuno beat Dateko, revenge is sweet. :DD

Oh gawsh, Oikawa's quite the badass but pretty annoying. xD Kiyoko fooling Nishinoya and Tanaka during the preview was hilarious. :P

That preview made me laugh so much. Kiyoko being a troll, I didn't thought it was possible.

Aya-senpai is such a babe :3
Come on Daichi, get in couple already!

That last ball was damn stressing, even if we all knew it would pass.

They have beat Dateko in two set in the end, that club that had beat one with an advance of more than 10 points if I remember. That's incredible when we think about it.

Nishinoya save with his foot was the highlight of the episode. Didn't even knew that it was legal!

You go Nishinoya, so cool! Asahi, you did it! And wow, Karasuno actually won without making things dramatic!

Such a spectacular episode. And Sugawara's signals are coming in handy.

And I think I heard an angel's voice in that preview, Kiyoko is too much for me.

That was such a good match, that last point was awesome and stressful at the same time because at first, I wasn't sure of what side it was falling on. I also completely forgot about the signals, praise Sugawara!

Great stuff.

Asahi FTW!!! Knew the last point would show the wall opening but I thought he was going to blast right through them. Even so it was pretty intense seeing that ball rolling on top of the net like that.

That guy at the end still annoys me >.<

The opening gates killed the finish a little.
yeah that was a bit too much. It actually reminded so much of "the Zone" that I had a hard time taking what should've been an intense final spike srsly.

Other than that it was a great episode, and Noya's save made it ten times more awesome than it already was. I'm also glad that despite his spooky appearance and unsettling behavior, Aone is actually a pretty nice guy who just has a lot of trouble expressing himself.

with this episode we get to see some in depth sight of volleyball as whole. for example there is the rule of rotation which can be seen either as a difficulty or as a strategic advantage. it's also noticeable that kageyama as well as tsukiyama have really developed into considerate teammates who are essential for the team play.

i've to comment on the animation once again and it feels like if they had chosen any other art style it would have ruined the show. all the comedy scenes as well as the more serious scenes are handled very smoothly in every episode thus far.

those fast unexpected movements within a game and fast thinking etc ensures the thrill of this series. quite enjoyable.

Where do I even start. That was amazing. The match was won in a logical and consistent manner. The tension was made not from some forced dramatic final match point business, but from the fear of not winning here and now and going into a downwards spiral. It gave depth to the weirdly cute Aone and Dateko team, as did it give us character development with Tsukki, Asahi and Noya. Thematically this had so much meaning as well.

Noya told Asahi that no matter what he would keep the ball in the game, and it's Asahi's job to just keep jumping! And guess what, that's what he did. Noya kept the ball in play even with his god damn foot! That was one of my favorite scenes yet, Noya is perfection. Asahi doesn't get discouraged, instead tries time and time again until he shatters the iron wall! He understands this is his job and this is a team effort. Finally he has redeemed his confidence and is ready to play his best without hesitation or doubts. I just wish that we actually had the iron wall get forcefully broken instead of slowly opened. I had predicted since we heard he lost to it, that he was going to shatter that wall for the climax, and he did just not the way I imagined it. More over, Tsukki and Asahi bonded for a moment where he told him how awesome he really does and it was a nice moment for them. I love the fact that even when not playing, it was Suga and Kageyama's spirit that allowed them to win, Suga's cheers "ONE MORE ONE MORE ONE MORE!", and his signals, as well as Kageyama's synergy with the team and great precision. These last two episodes have just been so special and masterful in how they set up for their climaxes.

At 23 points in set 2, I said to myself "just two more" vocally, before I was cut off by the team saying the words "just one more". I think was on purpose after showing us the score board but may have been coincidence, but either way it was a fantastic reminder that we need to focus on the present, on the single point in front of them, on the single challenge they've yet beaten without getting lost looking into future(alike when they didn't focus on their first teams until Daichi reminded them to).

I was incredibly disappointed by tournament arcs in battle shounen like Dragon Ball and Yuyu Hakusho. From them I constructed my own ideal tournament arc structure: one that has every single person there fighting for their own reason, big or small, but fighting to win and not be used as an obstacle or a hype tool. From watching Haikyuu and Baby Steps I've realized what I wanted was sports anime. The way they humanize the scary no eyebrow Aone and make him actually cute as he goes out of his way to show respect to Hinata, and how he and his teammate yell angrily before getting sad that they won't be able to face the same team in spring are examples of this. They wanted to win so bad, and they aren't bad people, they feel like earnest, struggling human beings and that's great! That discussion also reminded me of the cruel fact that at some point in the future we will see our third years go... When that day comes I know I'm going to cry.

Nishinoya’s save there was so bloody amazing, dang! Just when Dateko were fighting back, he totally disrupted that momentumand then Asagi-senpai smashing the gate open was intense with all that buildup, stunning stuff! For some reason, I’d no doubts that it would end up in the oppositions half though.

So glad to see him getting the spotlight there and another great episode of redemption for Asahi-senpai! Dateko’s #7 offering a handshake to Hinata followed by the “Yeah!” to their (former) Capt was really heartrending. Tsukishima had a great moment too, all round great stuff! For a while, I thought the game would be heading to the third set after Hinata’s blunder but good to see they somehow managed to skim through. Seeing the girls support the team and then then them bowing in response was really nice too!

Heroes and the Ace, Karasuma’s got this but too bad Aoba Joshi’s “Great King” is on fire!

I wonder how long the signalling between the two, Hinata & Kageyama, will work though...

I did not know that Nishinoya could return the ball with his foot, sincerely it was quite good since Asahi's arc was closed although this match was a bit difficult for Karasuno.

Say what you want about Hinata and Kurosawa, but mah boi Nishinoya the real MVP of this match. GODDAMN! That leg save was entirely out of this world!!

Plus I also like the fact how none of the losing teams in this anime is depicted as a loser, they put up their best fight and lost to a better team, and gained pivotal experience to come back stronger the next time around.

Not gonna lie, this is the kind of shit that makes me cry. The libero just relentlessly doing his job until the ace can finally score the point. My heart

One little issue though... date tech obviously show that they are masters at blocking and have read several of hinata’s spikes with incredible speed. So when the ball somehow rolls along the EDGE of the net for a couple seconds before slowly dropping down, no one is there to receive it. Were they all just mesmerized and stunned at the fact that their wall had been just about broken? It feels like everyone was just standing there watching as the ball rolled along the edge in such extraordinary fashion.

I'm glad that unlike KnB, Haikyuu isn't dragging every ounce of its big matches for more runtime. Clutch balls are cool and all, but it's gives a note of realism to have even a big match ending in a decisive victory.

Cool they won!!!

This is amazing. The game was intense. Feeling bad for no. 7. Date tech tried their best but probably they were totally shocked seeing Karasuno's new form. Kageyama is really awesome. He is the key to win. I think Suga will also come back to the position in a dramatic way. However the good thing is the Ace is back in form.
