Oh my gaaaawwwd.
Oh my gaaaaaaaawwwwd.

That was so fucking amazing!
All this police stuff is giving me such good Death Note feels.

And Nine is sexy like Kira, and although Shibazaki's too old, he still plays L's role.
But here, there's nothing supernatural going on.
And that's what makes it so realistic and heart-pounding.

I'm sorry but the competition's over. Zankyou no Terror gets best anime of season for me, and probably best anime of the year. This is so fucking good.
I neeeeed the next episode.
I just want to find out what role Lisa will end up playing, as she seems rather meaningless right now. Maybe she'll join up with Shibazaki in a twist of fate? Like he's the dude that left her mother?

Oh god, this show is so promising. My mind is going wild. Also, OST was amazing, thank you, Yoko Kanno! That moment when Nine was placing the bomb, disguised as a yakisoba guy...so good.

I'm loving this anime so far. The animation, the art style, the story, the music, (can't stop listening to the OP) are all amazing.

I can't wait for next week.

Best anime serie since a really long time!

I don't remember when something as good as this came out last time. (Steins;gate I think?)

Second episode was great, maybe even better than a first one but what matters the most is that both of them were great. One episode may be a fluke but two episodes says something. Of course it still can go the wrong way and fall all the way down but I don't think (hope) it will not be the case as it is already way too long since I gave some show 10/10 and it stayed like that after anime ended.

I thought it was impossible to do that first episode justice but goddamn. I hope they'll hold off on the backstories for a while... but they might be necessary soon. Or we might just find out as Shibasaki does. I love the cat and mouse and the realism, feels like a Jason Bourne movie.

This series is getting even better and better as it goes on :D

9 and 12 are just so epic and 12 is so damn shady lol I thought he was going to be the nicer one xDD

The riddle was pretty cool too, I knew it wasn't going to be that easy for the cops, but I love how this anime makes you think

5/5 I hope they keep up this pace

I can't believe they used Tor!!
This anime is pretty up to date..
And the mention of the Unabomber... sends shivers... cos I recently attended an information workshop and one guy mentioned the Breivik Manifesto, "2083". When I googled the Unabomber, it was scarily similar.. killing people just to have your manifesto published and read by others.. so that your words don't die. And he was anti-technology. Mentioning the Unabomber here.. it's interesting.

Geez... this show is sooooo bloody creepy.
Thermite reactions.. Phreatic eruptions.. bloody hell.

The two are pretty calculative.. they don't want to injure people.. at least not yet. They did talk about saving those from the institution they were in. Let's see what kind of rebels these are... what their motivation is.
Even I'm wondering what Lisa's role is. If she's a character just for the anime to have an explanatory outlet... that's gonna suck. She's the one who's gonna pop the question anyway.. "WHY?" So I hope there's more to her.

So, the plot begins to move. Lol that she wanted to know about Oedipus Rex, but reads manga. I hope it will be interesting enough, but it seems to be a very short story, just like two or three Kindaichi stories, but with slow pacing.

And I dont get whats the point on having Lisa on the show, she has no clue on what the hell is happening.

Also, what is the meaning behind VON? They should reveal it soon because I always try to invert it into making the word for "new" in my language. Needless to say, it bothers me quite a bit.

VON in Icelandic (some songs from the OST are Icelandic) means "hope"

This was excellent. The ost is just amazing and not simply because the soundtracks are great, but also because they fit the scenes in which they're played really well. Everything else was also top notch, although it was a bit too naive for the police to believe the answer to the riddle was so simple without considering other options.

9 and 12 have an interesting chemistry and I'm sure it'll be interesting to see how Lisa's involvement will affect them. Still, the most promising aspect of this anime is probably the"battle" between the detective and the main characters.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Wow wow wow I'm speechless. This was amazing. Best anime of the season for me at least. This trolling Twelve did was funny. I feel pity for Risa. I crazy mother, being dragged into acts of terrorism and if she makes a mistake she's dead wow talk about being unlucky. That detective is very smart he actually solved the actual riddle.

I feel like they're trying too hard to come off as an "intellectual" anime. They just throw out words like thermite, phreatic, and tor and then call the terrorists "extremely intelligent" for predicting a phreatic reaction. Please, the area wasn't confined enough to cause a massive steam explosion, if those really are super pillars they won't be melted by thermite, and tor isn't some infallible protection. Also, did they make up the 2nd version of the riddle? I can't find references to it online.

Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga.
Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month.

Ya I agree... Thrillers are supposed to set up the person you are rooting for right away so that the entire time you get a thrill out of wanting them to succeed in intense situations. Am I supposed to root for them or...? So I don't really get any thrills out of it. The plot seems okay, but if we don't have a motivation it just sort of falls apart. I hope we get the backstory and stuff next episode and maybe some insight into their characters besides just "nine is the cool one" and "twelve is the weird one". Also.. how do you root for terrorists anyway? Are we supposed to be rooting for the police? I guess so cause that is who I am rooting for.

Grr I wanted her to be more than just some monitored side character... Like run away from her mom and join them and stuffs. Personally I think she'd be a valuable asset considering she doesn't really have anyone close to her that she's concerned about and I personally think she'd love to pull the trigger on the world.

I love how real it all feels, everyone's animation and just the way characters are drawn and act. Really enjoyed this episode, especially the part where he walks through the station dressed as a delivery guy. It's a solid example of social engineering, people being able to pass unnoticed or unchallenged as long as they seem to fit the scenario or act confident.

Had a 'Catch Me If You Can' feel to it.
