I was mostly nitpicking about the show. Although Fate/Zero is well-rounded in every aspect compared to other anime, I still didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I probably did hype myself too much for it.

Hey. Just finished both seasons of Fate/Zero and I definitely liked it. But...

Maybe I hyped up Fate/Zero too much for my self after seeing it rated so highly on MAL. I couldn't rate the show really high, even if I wanted to, because I was bothered too much by its flaws. Maybe I'm just complaining more because I had high expectations.

What did you think of the series? You gave the overall series a 10 so I was wondering if I missed out on something (we're usually on par with rating things).

Well from what people said on forums, he stopped writing for the show after episode 3. So I'm not sure if he wrote the end to Aldnoah.Zero or not.

I like it, but it is starting to get repetitive. Ever since episode 3 it's basically 10-12 minutes of info dump and then 8-10 minutes of fighting sequence in which Terrans always come out on top somehow. The plot isn't that unpredictable either. We know that the Terrans will use the princess to obtain or pilot a Vers Kataphrakt to fight the Vers army and defeat them. We'll see if this predictable plot redeems itself with a WTF moment.

No I haven't actually. I've pushed Fate/Zero off because I was busy watching other things. I'm planning on watching it next actually.

Have you watched all of it? including sequels? Because from what I hear it seems the first two seasons are the only ones that are worth watching but I wanted to hear what you thought. By sequels, I meant the fate/stay series and other series (if they exist).

Yeah I thought Shinsekai Yori would be some weird romance anime, but it was soooooo much more than that. You'll have to bear with some of the controversial scenes, but the overall series is brilliant. It was like watching a folklore/village version of Psycho Pass.

Yeah Gen always manages to come up with interesting and philosophical stories. Once he stops writing for a show, however, the show tends to go downhill. It always confused me why he would stop writing for shows like Suisei no Gargantia or Aldnoah.Zero. Like, wouldn't you WANT to finish your own work?

Anyways, yeah Psycho Pass definitely focused more on its philosophies than the characters. The characters could be viewed as set pieces merely for Gen to get his message across clearly. I hope season 2 has a different direction in mind, without ruining the show itself.

Dude, I just finished Shinsekai Yori... one of the most mindblowing series that I've watched. I'd say there's a lot of similarities in terms of ideas and characters between this show and Psycho Pass, so definitely watch it when you can.

Haha you looking forward to season 2? Apparently it's not going to be written by Gen Urobuchi =/ but then again Gen is a bit overrated as well. The new writer apparently isn't that bad so I'm definitely looking forward to a new version of Psycho Pass.

Haha yeah Toradora's great. I think when I started watching anime last summer Toradora was my third or fourth anime that I watched (after Clannad + Clannad AS). I wasn't a huge fan of the show though, because some of the characters got a little annoying towards the mid-end and the drama was too drawn out. Definitely tell me what you thought after finishing it!

Haha I'm like that for my manga list. I should have more manga on my list, but I decide to only put the ones that I really pay attention to.

Yeah, that's how I started anime last summer.

My favorite genre is slice of life. Although it can be boring at times, it calms me down and occasionally enlightens me with life advice. Some of my favorites are the Aria series, Gin no Saji, Bartender, Usagi Drop, Kino no Tabi, and Mushishi (although Mushishi's more fantasy and supernatural).

Other than that, I can't really pinpoint a certain genre, but I love anime that makes you think. Kyousougiga, Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita, Mushishi, Mawaru Penguindrum, Baccano, and Psycho Pass are among my favorites for this "genre" because I needed to watch the series at least twice and really pay attention to detail in order to get a comprehensive understanding of the show.

I'd say Toradora and Clannad are all you need to watch in terms of the romance genre (most others are pretty cliche or bad). I can recommend a few others after you're done with those.

Haha well good job enduring that. Anyways, I see that you're starting to watch some of the more popular anime from the past. Have you recently started watching a lot more? Any favorite type of genres yet?
