I would definitely say that I like Hachi towards the ending, in my opinion she makes better decisions. It sucks that it leaves off in a cliff hanger because of the author becoming ill.

That is true. Rei is one of the few characters that makes regular change over the course of multiple seasons. In my book, any character change is generally a sign of better writing, but great writing spreads that change out more instead of only condensing the change into a few brief moments.

3-gatsu no Lion is my absolute favorite! Its combination of a great, subtle story, gorgeous animation that isn't afraid of being symbolic, and true-to-life characterization isn't surpassed by anything else I've seen.

I do plenty of the latter, but if I see some other post that I disagree with I tend to go a little more in depth. I'll also go more in depth if something really bothered me about an episode (or if it was especially clever.)
