Both animes have similar dymanics in the relations between main characters: an older, stronger servant who protects a weaker, younger master. Also, the topic of hell/Abyss that threatens one of the characters is kind of similar. Both animes are very nice in the visual aspect, dramatic but with some humor to lighten the mood.

Both of these series have similar protagonists. Ciel and Oz are wealthy children from prestigious families living in historical London, and they both have a close relationship with their servants. Both boys have entered into a contract with an otherworldly creature and both their servants (Sebastian and Gilbert) have dark and mysterious personalities, and even look a little similar. 

Both stories could be considered dark, but they're both lightened with a little humor and eccentric characters. Also in both series Dolls are used as a symbol for madness and some characters are not as they appear.

Also, and this is something I feel I have to include, there is a little fanservice and suggestive scenes between Young Master and servant to attract shonen-ai fan viewers. However, it's not so heavy in either that it should turn off people who are not so fond of shonen-ai.  read more

They both have a dark plot. Super-natural setting. As in Sebastian and B-Rabbit or Raven (Gil). The main character (Ceil and Oz) are both rich, and somewhat snoby / brats. But they are different in both animes , Oz is more happy compared to Ceil. Pandora Hearts has more comic relief in it compared to Kuroshitsuji. Both have amazing music to compliment the scene in the animes. Both are emotional too. So be sure to have a tissue box at hand! ;)

This is probably the best reccomendation to anyone who loves Kuroshitsuji. They have the same close relationships between the characters and each character has their own mysterious past and story to tell. Oz is somewhat like the optimistic version of Ceil. There is a lot that will keep you guessing and the music and art work are brilliant in both. If you like one I can promise you'll like the other. Where Pandora Hearts is a little more light-hearted it still has an ominous feel to it and like Kuroshitsuji it keeps you guessing who the bad guys really are.

Kuroshitsuji is mainly about the young Phantomhive master whom has a butler named Sebastian Michaelis.... One "hell" of a butler. The young master takes on a series of cases for the queen, and in the process becomes aware of a certain group with questionable intent. 
Pandora Hearts revolves around a young duke who has just come of age. After being sentenced to the prison known as abyss, he makes a contract with a being known as a "chain" in order to escape. 
If you're into demonic contracts, shinigami, and those darkened themes... you're sure to love both of these amazing works.

Similar setting: rich, somewhat arrogant noble kids, older (and hotter) servants, Gothic styles. Both try to present a fantasy world that resembles a historical European setting to various degrees, but with the critical aspect of the story based on a supernatural twist. In Kuroshitsuji, it is the concept of demons and angels. In Pandora Hearts, it is the "Abyss," a dimension where time is warped. Both protagonists have been bestowed with a sort of life-binding curse that they view as a punishment, yet ironically neither seem to value their lives very much.
Kuroshitsuji is much darker in tone than Pandora Hearts, however. It is quite heavily Gothic, while PH adheres to more typical anime conventions. read more

Mystery series with a 19th century setting. Main characters are caught in a situation where they have no other choice but to make a contract with a supernatural being. They also have a certain goal to fulfill in their lives.

They both have that gothic/dark feel to them. While watching Kuroshitsuji I felt as if i was watching Pandora Hearts. Though the characters are some what the same. The Master are both kids ,but very mature for their ages, are completely different. The Servant are dark and have powers. But they both have some comedy in them that make you laugh. Other then that they both are freaking amazing/awesome/epic.

They both have a similar feel, with a dark and complex plot centered around a parentless rich boy with a past.  In both shows the side-kick is also dark and mysterious.

Besides the time period being the same, and the fact that both anime's have a contract between a master (Ciel/Oz) and a servent (Sebastian/Alice), a lot of the characters reminded me of ones from the other anime. Ex. The Undertaker seemed a lot like Break with long hair

Both main characters are around the same age as well as having similar family situations, both of them having no father, though Oz from Pandora Hearts is a little more cheerful than Ciel from Kuroshitsuji. Also, both have a dark fantasy atmosphere, though Pandora Hearts isn't as dark as Kuroshitsuji.

The style and some characters is very similar to Kuroshitsuji. Many of the voices are the same too, Undertaker-Liam, Sebastian-Jack Vessalius. Grell Sutcliff-Vincent Nightray.

Kuroshitsuji and Pandora Hearts don't really look like each other in story, but there's the same atmosphere and I really liked both. Also the master-servant relation from Kuroshitsuji is like Gilbert and Oz in Pandora Hearts. Both have a dark story with comedic parts in it.

somehow, when i watch both of these anime, i feel it's similar. although the story is different, but both of it are very good anime. :) for kuroshitsuji, the anime is acceptable and nice, but for pandora hearts, i recommend to read the manga, because the story is much better. both of these anime has very unique story line. :) if you love the anime, i recommend to read the manga. :D

Probably been recommended already but I think it's worth mentioning again

- both contain an older servant protecting a younger master
- similar characters such as break (pandora hearts) and the undertaker (kuroshitsuji) and the relationship between sebastian/ciel is similar to oz/gilbert
- they both have a supernatural theme which can be dark (more so in kuroshitsuji) but also have occasionally humor (more evident in pandora hearts)
- both are very entertaining animes so I reckon if you liked one of them give the other a try ^__^

These two anime take place in the Victorian Era and both follow the story of a young boy. Both Ciel (Kuroshitsuji) and Oz (Pandora Hearts) have been to hell and back and both seal a contract with a demon, whom from that moment on is (almost) always with them. While both plots may seem quite simple at first, there'll be a few twists to the story that will make it way more intriguing. 
In short: two action, supernatural and from time to time comical anime that are definitely worth watching!

Set in historical Europe. Mc is from a wealthy/influential family. Mc makes a contract with a demon like being. Both mc has an older servant. Both involves solving mysteries and has a dark feeling to them, people get murdered, possesed and so on. Both kind of critizes society. Both have equally interesting and somewhat crazy characters, many with dark pasts.

Pandora Hearts looks like it takes place around the same time as Kuroshitsuji. It's humour is also very similar and it's fantasy, so, yeah. Kuroshitsuji is a bit darker than Pandora Hearts. It's light hearted and fun but it can bounce to some serious and dark moments as well. I personally prefer Pandora Hearts over Kuroshitsuji.

In both series you can see a lot of European landscapes and architecture of the past centuries. Quite similar concept for a contract with a demon or a "chain". In Kuroshitsuji you will see a lot of awesome Sebastian and in Pandora Hearts you will see a lot of relations to Alice in Wonderland.

Pandora Hearts is quite old, it was aired in 2009 (I think). But it's still one of my favourites, and it has a similar feeling with Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler). The characters of Pandora Hearts are amazing as well as the characters in Kuroshitusji. 

Both of the main leads are kinda royal(?) but the storyline is quite different. If you like Kuroshitsuji, you should try Pandora Hearts!!!!! Pandora Hearts has the manga version as well, just like Kuroshitsuji.

Demon or Chain, both anime have the main character to be bound with a contract with demon(Kuroshitsuji) and a Chain (in Pandora Heart). Both main character have similar dark past that always haunt them and both main character's partner always show loyalties with the MC. The story is really interesting and accompanied buy a little bit comedy between characters.

These anime combines a mysterious atmosphere, and their action takes place in the past and not in Japan. So we can see quite the original clothing of the heroes and the background of the action. In both main characters are young panics who contract with someone. Both series also contain comedic elements.

Black Butler is very much like Pandora Hearts where both have Victorian vibes. Both have an attractive black haired guardian, a cunning young man who was abandoned/betrayed, and magic/demons. Both young men also have contracts with a being from another world and form strong bonds with them. Both shows have plenty of fantasy and mystery elements to them. If you liked one you will ABSOLUTELY enjoy the other!

In both Kuroshitsuji and Pandora Hearts, something tragic happens to the main protagonist (Ciel Phantomhive/Oz Vessalius), which causes them to sign a contract with a demon (Sebastian/Alice). Both have a similar master/servant relationship as a result.

The setting is also very similar as well, and both have the same atmosphere. Both are based on manga published in Monthly GFantasy.

If I were to choose which anime is better, however, I’d say Kuroshitsuji. While I love the Pandora Hearts manga to death, it’s anime adaptation isn’t the best. However, I can see fans of one liking the other. Also, if you liked both of these, check out Vanitas no Carte as well, which is similar to both Kuroshitsuji and Pandora Hearts. read more

The main protagonists both have a tendency to act like "my life doesn't matter since I don't have anything important to me anymore" aka they seem a bit suicidal.
The series both are very similiarily executed. They have a love for details, well shown hilarity and a nice dark gothic athmosphere.
Both series have lovable characters who sometimes even act similiar.

It's hard to explain, but something just seems similar between these two anime. Maybe it's the atmosphere, the characters, or even just the same genre...I recommend Pandora Hearts for anyone who enjoyed D.Gray Man, and vice versa.

I realised that they are very alike.Both have contractors-well Chains are not the same as Innocence but still have some similiarities.
In both anime-s the bad guys seek the same thing as the good.

Both of them have a similar dark atmosphere, While the Black Order tries to eliminate the " Akuma " and investigate the " Innocence ", The Pandora organization also investigate the " Abyss " and The " Chains " thoroughly and tries the eliminate them, and the main character have somewhat similar personality .

Oz and Allen are very similar characters; always kind, happy, and smiling while inwardly conflicted with who they they want to be.  Both deal with deamons in a human world and a conveluted secret past that must be uncovered.  Also, there is some confusion as to who is bad and who is good.  

Beyond that, both have similar animation styles and have a somewhat dark atmosphere.

Although its been a long time since I've watched these 2 series, I'll try my best to phrase the similarities.
+ The overall atmosphere is dark and gloomy.
+ Both anime involve the main cast working in organisations.
+ Both have similar 'creatures'; Akumas and Chains. (Kind of Demons)
+ Both have 'contracts' to activate supernatural powers.

- D.Gray-man is a obviously a longer series than Pandora Hearts.
- And I sort of don't remember too well, but I'm pretty sure D.Gray-man was more 'seinen' towards the end.

This anime is a very tangled web of secrets and dangers from the past chasing you into the far future. While watching it you will become more and more invested into the plot, so you move onto the manga to continue your journey with the characters, ever deeper into the Abyss of despair and realize what a true work of art Pandora Hearts is as you weep bitter tears, your heart being filled with emotions and broken into pieces at the same time. Unlike D. Gray Man, the Pandora Hearts anime isn't as great as the manga. I got the dark fantasy, haunting feels from both of these where they start of as light hearted but get darker as you learn more of the story.

Ever wanted to see a show with a dark and somber vibe with a kawaii MC boy with dark past? You came to the right place! Pandora Hearts starts you off with this cute little kid, only to get shoved into the abyss like Batman. Only this time, he meets a girl with tufts of hair that look like ears down there.

D. Gray-man starts with an abandoned kid who has a fucked up arm and sold to the circus. Makes friends with a dog only for the dog with a top hat to get a BEAT DOWN. Then his circus daddy dies, so Fat Albert comes round on Mary Poppin's Parasol to bring circus daddy to life. The kid goes for it like Edward Elric only to be met with an Akuma. So kid brings clown daddy to life just to put em in the earth with his fucked up arm.

Now these guys are trying to be happy go lucky, to cover their regretful past and settle things once and for all. Pandora Hearts takes a twisted Alice in Wonderland vibe. D.Gray-man takes a grim reaper Exorcist vibe. If you like getting hit with bombshells of info while seeing how tragic kids deal with their problems, then you can find it right here. read more

The main protagonists of both D.Gray-man and Pandora Hearts act very similar and the setting, tone and art style are also all pretty similar as well. IDK how to say it, but these two anime are very similar. Watch them both (D.Gray-man has more action and it’s better), and then read the manga for both!

It's no surprise that any viewer who has seen both series may come to  see some similarities between the two especially in terms of the European settings, the similar personalities of the main female protagonists, and the fantasy themes.

The female protagonist in both series are indeed bossy and has an unique relationship with the main male protagonist. Yet, they care about each other and works flawlessly when situation crisis calls.

Both series' soundtracks also has similar rhythm and are generally a classic for those into fantasy/mystery with supernatural elements.

I quite liked this picture because it is based in a bygone era which is not very common, as they usually tend to be based more in the near or distant future, that the "struggles" are made reciting parts of the mythology recorded in different objects, gives the series a cult touch and shows us the violence that we are accustomed. This is my opinion, I hope you agree with me and if not so respect their opinions equally. 8/10 by the fact that it is finished or at least for me.

Mc encounters a girl with a secret power and they decide to team up together. Both girls have been trapped in a place that is not in this world. Same kind of gothic european setting. In both they solve mysteries. Similiar "villians".

Before I get started, I wanted to apologize for  my bad English, and warn for spoilers (small ones though, there’s one major spoiler, but I’ll type it from right to left (‘siht ekil’ instead of ‘like this’) so you can skip it if you want , I’ll mark every spoiler by putting it between these brackets -> /// 
Anywaysss, first of all, the main characters are pretty alike. Not only their looks (blond hair, green eyes), no, they have way more in common. Both of them are rich/nobles, who live with their uncles and servants in a huge mansion. The servants, Kevin and Gilbert, are extremely devoted to ‘their master’, to the point that both of them seem a little bit obsessed. You could say their appearance is kinda similar as well (not extremely though), taller/older than the main character, black hair, and so on. ///They also seem to have a sort of ‘kinky’ friend/brother (Michael and Vincent) that knows more about their past and have an influence on them///. While watching the show, you’ll get the feeling that Gilbert and Kevin could help to solve ‘the riddle’ if they’d speak up about their past. 
There are also lot’s of common points in the plotline. Both stories start with our main character being dragged in another dimension (hell/Abyss), with demons/chains, where they meet their ‘supernatural sidekicks’ (lame way to call it ikr) Alice/Dantalion. They form a contract and turn back to the normal world, after that the story starts to develop itself. Both Oz  and William  have a special power without knowing themselves ///and both of them are the reincarnation of an ancient ‘hero’/spoiler/ .nosrep siht nwonk evah ot mees stnavres riehT / ///
The show has the same vibe, which is really logic since the setting is sort of same. Looking at the cast, as far as I know, they don’t have many voice actors in common, there’s Ishida Akira, Toriumi Kousuke and Fukuyama Jun.
At last but not least. Both anime stopped at a random moment in the story line while the manga continues lmao. Sorry, I had to say this, since I’m really disappointed about that. I hope both of them get a season 2 one day, because I have the feeling story started to get really good after the point where the anime stopped.

Both series involve main characters trying to find out more about their lost memories. Both have a sprinkle of comedy thrown in, but overall both of these series are very dark. Pandora Hearts is a little more creepy compared to 07-Ghost though.

- And if i remember, In Pandora Hearts some people where also after his death.

- an average paced plot
- great characters with contrasting personalities
- both MC tries to help others and finding their place in the world

The main protagonists are teenage boys who tend to be their own worst enemy. They hate being a burden to others and feel the need to protect what's dear to them. Teito's and Oz's best friends are protective and have close bonds with them. Both series involve two organizations that are polar opposites of each other, concerning their goals. Although the stories contain dark elements, some humor is sprinkled throughout to lighten the mood at the appropriate moments. In terms of setting, both take place in a fantasy world with European influences.

I found this very similar to pandora hearts cause 
- Both Pandora Hearts and 07-Ghosts they were trying to find their memory's
-They both had somthing unique about them like in Pandora Hearts Oz had Jack and in 07-Ghosts teito had the eye of mikhail
- They both have there wierd charaters like break from Pandora hearts and Frau from 07-ghosts
-In Pandora hearts Oz had his friend alice and in 07-Ghost they had teito and mikage
-Oz and Teito have similar personallitys 
- Both Mangas are way better then the anime

Both stories have amnesiac characters and they are trying to figure out what happened that led them into the situation they are now in and both stories can be pretty dark af from time to time too as well as being pretty complex too.

One obvious similarity between these two similarities is that both of the two main characters in the series are bound by a so-called "contract." And that the contractors' partners aren't human at all.

They have a simmilar feel, simmilar plots (a human contractor and a demon bound together by a pact in which time plays a very important part and the contractor will probably lose his/her life if nothing is done to avoid it). They have a simmilar setting (with european influences, although Pandorea Hearts' seems a bit more old than Chrno Crusade's, which could be set in a ficticious 194X Europe). They have the same opaque animation tones. Also, in both the main boy is cheerful and easygoing, and the main girl is somewhat of a tsundere.

The contract part between Alice and Oz in pandora reminds me of Chrono and rossetto in chrno crusade.. however the pace of the anime only pick up midway through for pandora so for those planning to watch, you might be bore at first but its really not a bad anime..

Note : The way it ends for pandora reminds me of Flame of Recca...

Chrno Crusade and Pandora Hearts both follow a human saving themselves by making a contract with a supernatural being. A ton of the characters are similar as well, and the animation/art style is pretty similar to boot. Chrno Crusade has more action, and is just an overall better anime. If you like Pandora Hearts, you’ll probably like Chrno Crusade, the same thing in reverse doesn’t work as well,

Both of these animes have  the main characters as a guy and a girl. 
Though Pandora Hearts has to do a lot with getting rid of demons from the Abyss, while Gosick only deals with mysteries, they remind me of each other.
In each anime, the guy MC has to go find the girl MC and ends up saying their name 20 million times, then yelling it, then saying that they are friends.
There is the presence of love in both animes, but it's definitely not the main plot, in fact, it practically brushes the tip of both animes. 
They seem to have nothing in common at first, but if you look at the depths of the anime, you will see the similarities. read more

Both series have often creepy atmosphere, good and well developed characters, good mix of humour and drama (tough SE is a bit more centered at humour while Pandora is a bit more centered at drama), girls with Scythes, cool-headed male leads, interesting monsters, insane villains and are great at storytelling (in different style and with different topics, tough)... and there are even more similarities. If you have watched one of these shows, it is highly recommended to watch the other as well!

Pandora Hearts and Soul Eater center around a group of people fighting against some type of monster that's created from a dark evil. Each group is made up of a large collection of characters. Several character similarities can be drawn. There's Death the Kid (SE) and Gil (PH), Spirit (SE) and Oz (PH), and Maka (SE) and Alice (PH), just to name the main ones. Other character similarities are really small traits.

in soul eater there is humer and action. same with pandora hearts! in pandora hearts the charaters can be very serious and very entertaining at times.  pandora hearts is very different though. some people compare pandora hearts to the movie alice in wonderland but the charaters are completly messed up then.

this show will most likely entertain the viewers. it is funny,and has action. the plot is confusing though. in pandora hearts some scenes can be very..creepy. i hope this helped.

Main characters of both series are similar when it comes to their interpretation of partnership. Both series also have some funny and random as well as some action-y serious scenes in it, with it's setting also set in an somewhat olden day alternate dimension where mythical creatures exist. Like everyone said before, The dark side, characters' strong emotions, enemies' strange forms, the ost made By Kajiura Yuki. For me Madoka was strong magical girl then she turn into a normal weak heart girl, in the other side we see strong Alice but she wasn't like this when she was human. We can say they are opposite. Also thankful is the most important point between the characters in these two series. Although the look is different, but they have many similarties. Go and watch them ^^

The art style is very similar in quality.  The mixture of sadness, darkness, and a little light humor also is very much alike.  Pandora Hearts is basically Black Butler and Madoka Magica mashed together.

While they don’t look similar at first glance, Pandora Hearts and Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica share some elements. The soundtracks of both anime are very similar, as they were both composed by Yuki Kajiura, which gives both anime a similar atmosphere as a result. The main characters, Oz and Madoka, also act similarly, and most importantly, both anime subvert their respective genres. Out of the two, I prefer Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica, but Pandora Hearts has it’s moments.

: I really like the soundtracks in Tsubasa Chronicle and the first thing that make impression to me in Pandora Hearts was the music too (: Then I checked that both soundtracks are by the Japanese composer and music producer Yuki Kajiura. 
::The second thing that is similar is the idea of searchingis for the lost memories of the main heroine, with the help of her friends, which she meets on her journey.
:::And maybe the tird thing that is similar are the characters, that looks bright, but in the reality have other, more darker sides of them /like Oz and Fye/

While there are some parallels between the plot lines and characters, the most striking similarity between these two shows is in the atmosphere.  There is good comradery between the the characters and a gentle kindness that eminates from the protagonist of both shows.  However, despite that there is a nagging creepiness which hangs in the background and a sense that all is not quite as it may first appear.  The definitions of good and evil, write and wrong, seem to become complicated an lost in the varied perspectives of the characters.

I find  both of them very enjoyable! The heroins are sort-of the same, there's alot of action, fantasy and supernatural things in both. The only difference is that there's more romance in one of them. If you liked one, you'd like the other!

Heroins are similar. Stong willed and stubborn with a soft side. There is light comedy in both. The story and imagery are mysterious and dark. Chains are similar to Rinne - they eat people. One faction must stop another (Flame Haze vs. Guze - Pandora vs. Baskerville) There is a grip of action in both animes. If you liked SnS then you'll like Pandora Hearts.

Both series deal with beings from an alternate realm they don't want to be in forming contracts with humans.

The difference is that all beings in Pandora Hearts are beings called Chains who want to escape and humans who want to change the past, whereas in Shakugan no Shana, it is about Denizens wanting to eat the Power of Existence of humans and stronger Denizens known as Lords contracting with Humans to grant them power to stop the Denizens.

Pandora Hearts and Vanitas no Carte share a creator, Jun Mochizuki. But that’s not all they share.

The music is very similar, as both the music for Pandora Hearts and Vanitas no Carte were composed by Yuki Kajiura. Both anime also have a similar vibe and atmosphere. Some of the characters are similar as well.

I vastly prefer Vanitas no Carte to Pandora Hearts (at least for the anime), so I’d recommend Vanitas no Carte to fans of Pandora Hearts. I don’t think it will work in reverse, however.

Both are written by Jun Mochizuki so their designs and environment resemble, music is made by Yuki Kajiura on both, thus giving it an alike atmosphere as well. Some characters have alike personalities and manners. If you didn't like Pandora Hearts, you should give Vanitas no Carte a try. If you liked Pandora Hearts, you may also like Vanitas no Carte. If you loved Pandora Hearts, then you may love Vanitas no Carte as well.
I think that people who were disappointed on Pandora Hearts' anime adaptation will be pleased by the fact that the author's new work has a worthy adaptation (until now).

Well, first of, they are literally both from the same Writer and illustrator (Jun Mochizuki). They dont have similar characters but the similarity is that, just like vanitas no Karte has a unique world of vampires to itself, in pandora hearts there is a unique world of 'Chains'. Both have an immense amount of Angst and both are supernatural. A difference is Pandora hearts doesnt have a main love interest since the MC is only 15 (he does have a crush tho) and I suggest reading the manga after u finish the anime because it shows only the introduction to the whole thing

Both anime display some plot similarities like, for instance:
- A Powerful Organization (Pandora/Circus) & some weird monsters.
- An alternative fantasy World, where PH is set in an alternative Victorian Era and Karneval in a Modern Steampunk World. 
- A blonde happy go lucky main character (Oz/Yogi) that apparently has no problems, but later on some secrets are revealed. 
IMO, I like PH better because of certain elements you do not find in Karneval: While PH & Karneval start with a happy feeling, PH soon becomes heart wrenching,leading to a profound character development and an intricate twisted plot, while Karneval manages to keep the happy feeling by shortening the drama scenes and making soft transitions. Still, both are anime that heavily rely on the message of true friendship and that is the central theme: "your friend is your family, you will protect them, they will protect you" is a quote that could define both plots, even if they are dealt in a completely opposite manner. Also, in both mangas the males are predominately more well developed than the females. Take for instance, Alice (PH) & Tsukumo (Karneval) which are badass, but frequently overshadowed by the males´s strong and meaningful presence. In general, I would say if You like one of these anime, you'll certainly enjoy the other, they both have gorgeous artwork and most of all, very likable characters.  read more

Pandora hearts is just as great as FMA Brotherhood, though Pandora Hearts has an open end (something that really dissapointed me). I totally recommend it! Pandora hearts has a good plot, hot and mysterious characters, and more! (if you don't believe me, check it on google!) P.S.: If you watch Pandora Hearts, then you should read the manga!

Pandora Hearts has plenty of memorable characters who are neither good nor bad. The bonds they share with each other are very deep and important to the story, and are not over dramatic. Their back-stories and current goals have a similar dark and serious feel as FMA: Brotherhood, though there is some tasteful comedy. The plot is very unique and fast moving, with a balanced amount of fight scenes and trying to make new discoveries. Though the plots for the two series are very different, I believe fans of FMA: Brotherhood will enjoy Pandora Hearts.

Both stories revolves around the concept that its the journey, not the destination that matters the most. In both series we meet and fall in love with a unique and complex cast, that grows as the story progresses. Revealing the truth about the past is a big plot-point in both series. FMA:B focused more on the adventure aspect with political conflicts, while Pandora Hearts is more of a mystery with lots of plot twists and has a overall darker setting. Neither is afraid of killing off characters that have been built up thoroughly. 
The anime for PH did not finish off the story and barely scratched on the good parts, therefore the manga is the way to go.
As a sidenote the authors have been following eachothers works and even made a crossover drawing.  read more

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Pandora Hearts have a similar setup: a blonde haired boy’s life is destroyed right in front of him, and he must try and fix it by searching for something. The humor, tone, atmosphere and even characters are very similar to each other, with the Baskervilles and Homunculi being very similar antagonists and Elliot Nightray and Edward Elric having a similar personality as well. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is much better though, but Pandora Hearts is worth trying just for the music alone. Have fun ;)

There's a similar atmosphere in both of these animes - at the same time tense and playful.  Both stories drop you into the middle of things and give you one piece of the puzzle at a time, as well as having a similar trio of main characters.  There's a certain darkness in the background in both; a sinister something which we only catch glimpses of at a time, but which moves behind the scenes and may have power for either good or evil.

Both anime deal with English aristosracy and its morals.
Both have blonde bishounen as the main hero involved in some kind of contract with supernatural heroine. By the way Oz and Edgar have also dark though loyal servants.
And genres are the same: romance, shoujo, reverse harem.
For those who are charmed with English exquisite aristocratic atmosphere, both anime would be the best option.

Both of these series somehow give off the same feeling, but Pandora Hearts is dark while Zero No Tsukaima has more light-hearted moments.

The female leads of both series, Louise and Alice are tsundere girls and possess unique powers, while the male, Saito (Zero No Tsukaima) and Oz are some kind of a servant to the female leads.

Though they're both thrust into dangerous, unfamiliar situations, the protagonists in both anime are similarly detached from their predicaments. They're also of a similar age group (14/15). Recurring characters include... the older, concerned guy who starts to act like their mother; the spunky and dominating "girl warrior" type.

If you're looking for Dark Twisted Fantasy-type anime's, then this is the one for you.
Both have a MC who's "young", but has aged in a time-stop event, so essentially they look 12-13 but they're actually 50+.
-
Additionally, INCREDIBLE sad moments, that are littered with achey backstories that literally speak numbers. The backstory is "hidden", and that's what really keeps you on the edge of your seat, with ounces of Comedic humor, funny questionable scenes, and overall amazing atmosphere of glee and glum!

Both shows are very, VERY similar. I almost felt like they were exact clones of each other. The only difference was my personal bias towards Pandora Hearts.

So, what happens when you're young and going about your everyday when suddenly, something happens that changes your life entirely? That's the general concept of both Pandora Hearts and Tegami Bachi.

Oz Vessalius is 15 years old when he is dropped into the lowest level of the Abyss and becomes a Contractor for a Chain that resembles a 13-year-old girl named Alice. Lag Seeing is roughly the same age when he becomes a Letter Bee and meets Niche, who is technically that girl that Lag forms a "contract" with.

Shortly after, the respective characters embark on a long journey to find out "the truth." For Oz, it's the truth behind Alice's memories. For Lag, it's the truth behind the capital city of Akatsuki.

Pandora Hearts tends to lean towards romance and occult themes while Tegami Bachi is arguably more "adventurous" in the sense that Lag is always going new places and fighting giant monsters. Either way, they're both shows (AND manga) that fans of fantasy and shounen should consider picking up (though, I can also argue that Pandora Hearts is the shoujo version of Tegami Bachi and vice versa). read more

Shounen Onmyouji addpermalink

Both shows tell the story of a young boy who has to grow up quickly in order to fulfill his destiny and protect the people he cares about. Both Oz (PH) and Masahiro (SO) have a lot of heart and courage, and both wish to be treated like adults.

Each boy is protected by someone older than him. Both Gilbert (PH) and Guren/Mokkun (SO) have dark and difficult pasts but are able to rise above these things in order to protect the protagonist.

In addition, Akira Ishida voices a role in both anime and, though their personalities are different, Break (PH) and Seimei (SO) both fill the role of mentor and guide who, in their own way, keep the protagonist moving forward and learning more about their abilities.

The art styles are similiar, both shows feature the element of using special abilities to fight off spirits/chains and both are a mix of action, drama and humor.

If you like one you will probably enjoy the other! read more

the important character it´s named alice, both animes with goth -loli girls and loli boys, the same kinda dark and fancy plot and scenary, abyss looks like rozen maiden´s worlds with the broken dolls  that dark broken and ugly concept like suigintou´s world, the toy box from hinaichigo´s world, the mansions resambles rose mansion fom rozen maiden, there´s a contract and that contract means youe need to giva a kiss, and that contract makes the user more powerful [chain, doll]

Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta addpermalink

Both shows have almost identical 15-year-old, golden-haired MCs who keep their sad feelings of their past to themselves. They act happy-go-lucky and try not to think too hard about troubles. Both were sort of nobles and want to protect a black-haired girl they just met.

Both of these series have really confusing time lines, and a lot of mystery, that will have you wondering what even happened prior to the main story line.
Note: While both contain some violence, Higurashi has a lot of gore, and is not for the faint of heart.

- Both stories contain different noble factions in it. (Candidates of king in Re : Zero and House of Baskerville, Vessalius, etc. in Pandora Hearts.)
- Both MC experience some kind of time leap

The style is a dark Gothic with bright colors thrown in, the stories focus around dealing with life and death and also have a fantastical theme to them combined with mystery and alternate dimensions that blends well.

Both take place in much older times Europe and contain lots of fantasy and mystery elements. Both of them also have quite a few good fights.
Both of them are also about a guy trying to discover the death of a girl close to him, and center around them solving the mystery of their deaths and lifes in general.

lu mingze looks like a pandora hearts character! the pandora hearts anime isn't very well made (rip budget) but i think fans of the manga would like long zu/dragon raja (and vice versa), even if just for stylistic reasons.

I am so surprised this isn't listed here. I don't really know how to put it, but the general feel between the two anime are two similar. Examples:

- The relationship between Shino and Sosuke can be found between the two main characters Gilbert and Oz in Pandora Hearts. 
- Instead of demons and spirits as seen in Hakkenden, Pandora Hearts have these creatures called chains.
- both main characters are kids that hold some type of power

Just watch it. If you liked Hakkenden: Touhou Hakken Ibun you'll like Pandora Hearts for sure.

the concept is pretty similar, the protagonist has tattoos that prove he's a contractor
the music for both series was composed by Yuki Kajiura
and last but not least the Voice Actor for the "servants" was voiced by Ayako Kawasumi

Whenever I watch Pandora Hearts, I feel like I'm watching some side story of Hitman Reborn! because the main characters in the two shows have almost identical personalities. Besides that, the art style is pretty similar.

These both series have a dark side to them. The main character have a somewhat sad past, a mysterious friend of the opposite sex and special powers. Both are dangerously addictive to watch, and has some interesting twists.

- Both start off being a cute fantasy, with our MC's as young children. Very soon we are awaken with the true content of what the anime's trying to give us. In other words, a Fantasy that turns Dark.

Both Anime's focus on the ''Abyss''. Which holds similar details of eachother, being that it's the straight definition of ''Abyss'' - Never Ending...

The OST in Pandora Hearts is very much similar to ''Made in Abyss'' as well, the music is just so...unique, some what eery depending on the situation, and childish in some spots as well.

Both Animes feature child-like characters, it's very...fairy-tale orientated too. 
Pandora Hearts focus' "Alice in Wonderland", while Made in Abyss focuses some kid show that i can't remember.

When I saw the word "Abyss" in the title, I just couldn't stop thinking of 
Pandora Hearts, it's jsut the overall atmosphere that really makes the two anime's similar. read more

Not a big fan of this genre of animé, but Pandora Hearts is pretty god damn addictive, reminded me of Eureka Seven. Both have a male & female protagonists who eventually fall in love ( Eureka & Renton / Oz & Alice ) as well as a mixture of other genres including action, adventure & mystery.

In my opinion these two animes are really a like.
First, both have a dark atmosphere, althought there's some light comedy in Brynhildr.
Secondly, the art is really similar, and Murakama looks like Oz to me.
Their characters are also alike, Murakama tries to protect Kuroneko, wile Oz tries to protect Alice.
Murakama and Oz both are ordinary humans, while Kuroneko and Alice have magic powers.
Alice and Kuroneko both have dark past - Alice's been to Abyss (Hell) and Kuroneko has been basically a laboratory rat, which developed her to become a modified witch.
Both girls are running from their past, falling in love with the guy who saved them and having pretty strong enemies to fight with.
If you want some mistery, dark atmosphere, beautiful characters, interesting story and anime that will keep you glued on your seat, then I recommend these two read more

They're not too similar in terms of premise but both Pandora Hearts and Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge has that majestic/fantasy like atmosphere. As such both series has some supernatural features such as the action and drama.

Both series' main male protagonist also has a normal personality while maintaining a peculiar relationship with the main female protagonist.

In both series, there are antagonists that plays various roles that often puts some characters and events at risks.

Both Male Characters (Oz - Pandora Hearts and Phoron - Shinkyoku) encountered a Girl which hold a Mysterious powers. In Pandora Hearts, Alice is a Monster or a Chain while in Shinkyoku, Corticarte is a Spirit. 
Both Male Characters are able to command or give orders to those two girls. Also Both Male and Female Characters have Romantic feelings towards each other. And Both of them have Comedy which the Main Female is always like a Tsundere type.

Both series are inspired (more or less) by "Alice in Wonderland". Thought Miyuki-chan In Wonderland is more like Ecchi version of "Alice in Wonderland". While Pandora Hearts is Shounen, which contain also element from other titles, like for example "The Wizard of Oz".

While I feel calling either of these animes "dark" is inaccurate, they do both share somewhat gothic sensibility (more like loli gothic than genuinely gothic). What  could be considered dark about these animes is greatly lessened or broken up by the characters' personalities and a healthy does of humor. I think the  characters relationships have several similarities as well. Mainly I think the respective creators had the same target audience in mind and catered to them appropriately.

The setting of each of these two series are alike in that they both have 15 year old main protagonist born into prestige, but similarly have dark emotions that serve as ghosts in their respective closets.  Also in both series the main characters are charged with being/having some sort of flaw, neither knowing how or why it is so.  In Scrapped Princess, Pacifica is "the poison that will destroy the world", and Oz has unwittingly committed a "sin" worthy of being banished from the earth and sent into the "Abyss"  in Pandora Hearts.  Overall they just remind me of each other, don't know why no one has made the connection yet.  Ahah =) read more

Just look closer! They have a lot in common:
Alice and Horo both possess some incredile abilities.
Oz and Lawrence are both wise enough not to argue with their powerful patners.
They are always travelling or searching something.
Most likely they have to part with each other at the end of their way.

a special power is needed in both shows to win against the enemies. Alice from PH needs permission from Oz to unleash her full powers since he has the ability to control everything from the abyss. in Sekirei, Minato an Ashikabi helps unleash the Sekirei's full fighting potential. These series both have romance, action, supernatural. They're both an amazing show that you can't afford to miss.

- There is an alternative world with Medieval/Victorian setting where people have powers/chains/contracts. 
- The heroine is a glutton and likes to beat the main hero.
- One of the "good" guys who is very friendly has ulterior motives and it has to make a hard decision concerning the life of his best friend.
- Best friends turning into enemies. 
- Angst, reincarnation, romance, adventure, tears and twists. 
- You have to read the manga to know what really happens.

Both are mystery series, meaning you need to pay attention and fit all kinds a clues about events together.
They both have a very creepy atmosphere during the night which enhances the feeling of being kept in the dark (I don't mean that literally).
Both series manages to joke around despite the seriousness of the pretty intense storyline

I found Haru from TnK similar to Gilbert from PH, imho they look alike, except the colour of their eyes, so I think, that if U were in love with Gilbert's appearence U may like Haru too.

well,believe it or not this anime is quiet and peaceful has the same aspect of an old town with similar music and calm lives the storyline is not similar at all but they are similar at one thing and that is that neither the characters from H.R and Alice the main character of P.H do not remember anything from their past,i enjoyed watching both although Pandora hearts is and forever will be my favorite anime of all time ^^

Aside from having had Yuki Kajiura work on their respective soundtracks, both shows have a similar set up. 

Both shows are centered around group of people connected by a mysterious past and powerful secretive organizations, with characters who struggle not only to find themselves, but with the revelations that are found. 

Although Pandora Hearts is set in a fantasy world, and Noir is set in a modern venue, both are very good mystery dramas. We'll just have to hope for a second season to continue to flesh out Pandora Hearts story (unless you read the Manga, of course).

The plot is similar - a lot of questions, supernatural battles. And in Pandora is a similar relation, between Gilbert (the servant) and Oz (tha master) to the relationship between Soubi and Ritsuka.

Pandora Hearts and Inu x Boku SS have the same type of relationships between Oz and Alice and Ririchiyo and Soushi. As Ririchiyo and Soushi are 'Master and Dog' and Oz and Alice 'Master (Man Servant proclaimed by Alice) and Chain. Both girls kind of don't think they belong either because of family (Ririchiyo) and loosing memories (Alice)
