-similar personalities (robot-style personality trying to discover human emotions) -voice actors sound almost the same -good artwork/animation -''short-story'' style format just like evergarden (MC has to do XYZ each episode) The main characters share the literal same personality is like a 10/10 combo popeyes deal. both anime are really similar.

Both show using Sci-Fic as their main theme. Both show also have a protagonist who need to go back in past time to avoiding the event in future time.

Besides airing close together and both having beautiful animation, they're also sci-fi/fantasy action series set in the future and music plays a major role in their stories.

Main girls both turn from almost emotionless artificial entities to one resemble that of human. Both are idols that use their voice to save people

Paladin. Re:Zero and Vivy's Song have something in common that I believe is really effective, and that is their means to push forward some hopeless situation that one must prevail through anyway. Re:Zero does this with Subaru in a new world, taking on his volunteer mission of being the knight to his newly found damsel, though not in distress. The same is true with VIvy, although she is on a mission to save the entire world rather than a singularity. In some sense, the two do have the means to show that actually, the world they situate in is in their control bringing forward more "hero"  read more

Vivy isn't a punk show, but both have futuristic worlds with cyber related dilemmas. Both shows are very heavy emotionally, especially towards the end.

Innocent naive girl suddenly get called to save the world by mysterious entity. Such entity doesn't care how much humans it sacrificed, as long as it could accomplished it's goal.

I can't quite put my finger on why they seem so similar to each other, but one has mech, the other has sci-fi, both have strong, beautiful protagonists and a very good storyline that will make you keep watching even if you don't like these genres.

It tackles the same philosophy as Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song i.e. advanced AI's role in a human society that depends on them. However, instead of using heart and song being the merge between AI and humans Beatless uses dedication to serve as its motive for extremely advanced AI's in which their observations and actions determine how society would benefit from the other AI as a whole.

Both shows take place in an AI-dependent world. They have different stories and plot but they are somehow similar in showing how too much reliance in AI have consequences and can be detrimental to society.

The only aspect I can recommend the two with is a literal one. It is time travel. I suppose in anime, there is a means to use time travel as a device that either comes across as trying to be intelligent or one that uses the trope as a means to create unsuspected twists and turns. I can tell you now, that there isn't too much of that in Erased nor Vivy's Song. There are a load of differences in Erased and Vivy's Song, as expected, but if you like a dedicated character, one that very much will do anything for the wellbeing of said other, you  read more

Both stories revolve around a cybernetic being that involves deep introspection, character development, and scenes of combat. And both explore the theme of what happens when AI life has a soul of it's own? And they are both easily very good masterpiece-level anime. I definitely recommend both.

Emotion. I'll make this one short because the extrapolation is hard here. However, a valid point to bring to the table is how these two question the very emotion of man through the use of two inhuman beings. What answers will they find, and how will they react? That is down to them in these series of iterations of interactions about human and non-human relations to emotion.
report Recommended by NextUniverse
Both have non-human female-looking protagonist that starts the path to the realization of humanity, its purpose in live and understanding what happiness is. Both anime also have very beautiful animation, time skips and plot twists.

Both Share the same point of view of AI robot becoming human and drama that they're experienced. However, the feeling of both of them is quite a bit different.

Both contain semi immortal female protagonists, whose story spand multiple decades.

Both series share the same line of premise that engulf war conflict between Humans, Robots and AI. They dive into the deep human emotions after the acquisition of machines which had become a staple everywhere in the world. Vivy and Gesicht have a precise difficult goal where they go through many hardships that have a huge effect on them hence why they lose everything in the process either it being death or the lose of a precious memory.

A similar theme in AI generated music and the paradox surrounding this concept.

- Time jumping is a big element - Thriller and mystery - Both have pretty great animation - Vivy is more scifi based whereas SR is more supernatural - Main protag is tasked with changing outcome of events

Both feature protagonists who at first were apprehensive and even dismissive of a grander task, but later ended up giving the most of themselves to complete it.
report Recommended by Winston_F
--both follow a linear timeline with sections of time (weeks/months in Great Pretender and years in Vivy) before the next mission --both have separate arcs that take up 2-4 episodes --both protagonists undergo massive changes throughout the anime, with entire personalities undergoing shifts --would recommend for those who like "journey" anime, where the characters discover themselves and what they stand for

Both feature stories about AI and Human relations, and the differences between both ways of existence. They have similar protagonists and cover similar themes.

A pair of anime focused on a robotic character's responsibility to save the world from themselves. They use standalone episodes to focus on the emotional development of said robotic characters, moving the overarching story a little at a time while keeping the final destination vague along the way. They use some compositions (close up shots of faces, etc.) that are surprising similar to one another, and each have somewhat unique art styles.

Both feature female android main characters who's job it is to save humanity and the world in a conflict between humans and machines. Both take place in a future setting including far future, with incidents of hacking, cyberpunk themes, and battles. Both feature important personal growth for the main characters and deeper aspects to the story as they unfold and both are well produced. If you like one you may like the other.

Both MCs are "upgraded" versions of the prevailing humanoid AIs. While their genres are very different, they both explore the inner aspects of AI and asks thought-provoking questions. Setting-wise, one can argue that Vivy is what Chobits would be like if it was made in the 2020s.

There aren't many anime that can truly be compared to GITS, but GITS and vivy both share strong female leads, tech-heavy future settings, action-thriller genres, engaging plots, good fights (even though they're not the focus), and fun robot side characters

This seems like a weird comparison, but I'll explain. Spy x Family and Vivy are both animated by the same studio; Wit. One of Spy x Family's most underrated aspects is it's action scenes, which are strikingly similar to Vivy's. The choreography and animation are done in almost the same way, so if you like the action and combat in one of these shows, you'll like it in the other.

In the vast and dynamic landscape of anime, the transition from the poignant symphony of artificial intelligence in "Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song" to the dystopian tapestry of survival in "Darling in the FranXX" marks a seamless yet striking shift in thematic exploration. "Vivy" intricately weaves a narrative thread that probes the depths of AI consciousness, offering viewers a thought-provoking journey through time and technology. As one delves into the realms of artificial intelligence, the series prompts introspection on the essence of existence, consciousness, and the intricate dance between creator and creation. On the flip side, "Darling in the FranXX" catapults viewers into a future where humanity  read more

Both are sci-fi series that are bound to leave a deep emotional impact on you. Filled with a lovable cast and full of intrigue and twists just like Astra. Obviously, the structure of the story is very different, as is the plot, but as both stories feature similar aesthetics, similar soundtracks, and overall have similar vibes, I recommend all fans of Astra Lost in Space to view Vivy as well!

Both are advertised with an idol premise that becomes much more action packed. The plot expands to encompass much more than typical idols

Both are stories about Artificial Intelligence gone rogue, featuring idol/singer AIs. In Macross Plus, the AI idol Sharon Apple goes rogue and it is up to her human "manager" and her highschool friends to stop Sharon Apple. In Vivy: Fluorite Eyes Song. The heroine is an AI Idol and there is an AI revolution in the future which she much stop.

Can we stop the rise of the robots? Both anime consist of small arcs where we see how artificial intellegence advances and destroys mankind. Both are very suitable for Western audience, and have cool fighting scenes. Animatrix has different main characters every arc and has other stories as well, while Vivy has the same main characters and is only about the rise of the machine.

Has a very similar colourful art style and strong emphasis on the power of music. Generally really beautiful art, and fair execution -- with flaws but tasteful character development sets it apart from other shows in similar field. The main characters are not perfect by a long shot but do well to try to articulate their misunderstandings.

In a dystopian future with the most state-of-the-art tech, one would imagine that you could be all-trusting to the all-objective, and justice seeking AI. But all that glitters isn't gold in Vivy's and Psycho-Pass: Providence. Society struggles to stay attached at the thread, and even the most perfect member's of society struggle to balance their sanity and societal expectations of them. Really recommend both as the music and voice actors are absolutely excellent. The directing at some parts were very reminiscent of each other. And overall, if you'd like to ponder what like would be like 100 years from now, or if AIs ever took over  read more

Vivy and The Orbital Children are futuristic science fiction series involving artificial intelligence. They are completely different from each other, but they really explore how AI can shape society for the better or worst. The Orbital Children is heavier on the exposition so it can be a real treat for lovers of hard science fiction. Vivy is more action packed so it can be easy to overlook the AI commentary. Anyone with a strong interest in artificial intelligence and science fiction will not want to miss out on this recommendation.

Macross Frontier and Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song combine elements from idol anime and science fiction anime to create an engaging action series. Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song is somehow able to transform an idol into the terminator while maintaining narrative and character cohesion. If you're unfamiliar with the Macross franchise then Macross Frontier is an excellent entry point because its characters are disconnected from the previous series. It also contains more action and drama than the previous series. You are sure to enjoy both series.

Artificial intelligence in science fiction media has become an increasingly relevant theme as AI technologies continue to improve. Summer Wars and Vivy are very different from each other, but showcase the dangers of AI. In Vivy, you have a more nuanced interpretation of a Skynet AI. In Summer Wars, you have a self-aware, hacking AI that is causing havoc on digital infrastructure. If you're interested in AI takeover in science fiction then you should consider this recommendation.

Macross Delta and Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song are science fiction anime that involves idols dragged into a conflict to save the world. Vivy successfully builds on the legacy of the Macross franchise as being an idol is a significant part of the storyline. Macross Delta might follow the same formula as its predecessors, but knowing the Macross lore isn't needed to enjoy this series. Vivy is a much more action oriented series compared to Macross Delta, which has to develop a love triangle.
report Recommended by lancelot200
They both involve strong female characters with quiet presence, who continue onwards for the purpose of their mission, and evolve along the way, with elements of being a warrior. And both are masterpieces of anime. If you like one you should definitely check out the other.

The theme of both shows feels quite close, even though their settings are different, in both shows the co-existence of humans and androids is featured, on a backdrop of quite the turbulent time. Still the idea that despite all the complexities and moral questions, in both shows the core concepts of androids, struggling and trying to find their own ways to help mankind is featured, as well as to try and understand their purpose of existence.

Singing AI. Quite a literal similarity with protags both being singing AIs, their missions are pretty much the exact same thing in wanting to sing for humans via idol route or with an intention to bring happiness. Vivy is way more complex with a much deeper story to it in comparison to what can be described as a gag given by Monochrome. They both also have their names in the title. What is very different stories at the end of the day, they both share something similar in the music category. One is for fans of comedy, the other for those looking for a really good story.

Both sci fi Both have similar story progression, using time skip every couple eps, at halfway they execute the ending
report Recommended by ahctpac
Both are soft cyberpunk stories about android idols in search of their emotions. While the plot events and MC's impact on the world differ, there are multiple shared elements: a conspiracy, action parts, the character development of the female idol MC from stunted to emotional, and of course the finale in the form of a song performance. Key is a diamond in the rough whereas Vivy is a highly polished modern anime. But if one can cope with 90s animation and 4:3, it's worth learning about the roots. I haven't a shadow of doubt about the direct influence of Key on Vivy.

Both have a post apocalyptic plot where the female protagonist is tasked with a mission to save the world

Vivy is organised around the idea that a Song can change the world and the characters, and so, a part of the story is about this point. Lost Song could be the fantasy version of Vivy : - The same importance of songs on the world and characters - a very good OST - Part of both animes are about the necessity to change the reality, the past, etc. Personally, I found Lost Song better written and the OST also better, so I highly recommend it to those who liked Vivy.
report Recommended by Nilsou
Both of these animes use sound to strongly convey the feelings. While sound isn't the primary focus of Angel Beats, it helps to drive a lot of the emotions, just like in Vivy. If you're a fan of sad/bittersweet animes and a fan of a good soundtrack, both of these animes are great picks.

Both are themed around A.I and humans and the interactions and issues that arise between them.

If I had a nickel for each time I saw an anime containing androids, singing, and dystopian futures, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but its weird that it happened twice. Right? It is still pretty early in the Technoroid: Overmind series, but so far it has a similar feel to Vivy with the bright colors and good music. If you like a mix of song, action, and writing, then Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song is a good pick to watch next.
