Both animes are seemed to be your average anime but are slightly twisted.

A somewhat unconfident guy and 2+ girls plus a big pack of drama.
report Recommended by Inicharu
What do you get when two girls fall in live with the same guy? School Days is fairly similar to White Album 2 with the only major difference being that the main characters of WA2 prefers running away from their problems. But WA2 does not take it too extreme like what School Days did.

Both series feature teenagers overwhelmed with emotions and learning how to grasp relationships while making mistakes along the way. Relationships in both shows grow more complicated with more people entering the focus of the web of relationships.

Another harem style anime, with a little drama, but much more lighthearted overall. It also incorporates some interesting twists and turns in the plot, but it does not generally leave you sick to your stomach like school days does. I enjoyed both school days and shuffle, and they are both excellent anime.

Both shows have similar character designs, even though the personalities in the show are very different. Also, both have themes that follow mental illness and trauma. However, School Days focuses more on romance while Myself ; Yourself seems to focus more on character relationships. There were just many times during Myself ; Yourself that reminded me of School Days, even though their plots are different.

Both have a school setting and a romance where one of the girls is basically THE definition of "yandere" and the boy doesn't speak his mind (or, quite frankly, is an idiot). There's gore in both shows (though in Mirai Nikki a lot more). School days rather focuses on the romance and the drama, while Mirai Nikki has a plot that revolves around a survival game, though the romance is still important for the way the character act. Both can be a bit disturbing at certain parts and both are kind of hit-or-miss shows with a lot of people loving them and a lot of people  read more

They both employ similar tactics of trying to play on emotions to cover up how shallow the characters actually are. This of course is just how I feel about them. If you enjoyed one you may enjoy the other.

Yes, maybe I should take a bath, have some fries and watch that good stuffs I got the other day. What does it call? MAGICAL GIRL? And some comedy called SCHOOL DAYS? Oh I’m gonna have my great time with cute anime chicks and of course without idiot boss, heck yeah.” (This is the rendition of an exhausted working man at the best extent the writer can imagine, as he is currently unemployed.) Evangelion is a deconstruction of the mecha genre while School Days is a deconstruction of the harem genre.

Somehow both of the series give similar fealings at least for me, especially around the end of the anime. Both deals with deep feelings, in one of the animes the main point is love between siblings and the other one is centers around a guy who dates more girls at the same time. Worth to watch. Really.

Both Kyou and Sekai offer training the main hero with their relationships with their girlfriends. Also, Kyou and Ryou fell for the same guy, just like Katsura and Sekai, and get hurt because of that. Written by Shirobake and LiCha.

Were you watching Tsuki ga Kirei and feeling "hmm, this sure is a nice love story, but it could really use every character being a horrible and irredeemable person?" Then look no further than this! See, School Days is everything that Tsuki ga Kirei is not. Tsuki leaves you with butterflies in your stomach, while S.D. makes you want to grab the nearest sharp object and send it through the screen.

Girl messes up with the main character's life and pushes him around. Try to set up the protagonist to have a girlfriend and from there the story progresses. Watching one after the other will fill the void of what the other left empty.

While these shows seem to be completely different in premise, both are including despicable characters who make bad choices, which leads to catastrophic conclusion. Overall, both shows will leave you depressed and emotionally broken.

Dark and very controversial anime that deconstruct the romance genre and give you a disturbed feeling while you are watching them.

While watching both of these anime, I got the same feeling many of the times. Both of the stories start off with a shy girl and a kind of jerk guy getting together, the only thing is that Saikano has more science-fiction elements. From there, there are quite a few sexual scenes in both of these anime and I got creeped out by some of them in both of the anime. The main guy character in both of these has trouble keeping his mind on one girl at a time, although the one in Saikano is way nicer, but they are both unloyal, sometimes uncaring people. School Days and Pure Mail take place in the same universe of 0verflow's visual novel franchise. Sawanaga Miki (Pure Mail) is a sister of Sawanaga Taisuke (School Days) canonically. The abusive father Sawagoe Tomaru had relations with several characters in the francise including incestuous ones. Both main male protagonists Ogata Kei (Pure Mail) and Itou Makoto (School Days) are his sons from different women.

The two top-tier anime for REAL MEN; those who follow the philosophy of 'treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen' a little too closely. Makoto of School Days infamy sees it as perfectly fine to sleep around/have orgies with as many girls at his school as humanly possible over a short period of time... immediately after confessing his love to a sweet, innocent, melon-breasted girl. Why should a guy give a toss about things like feelings and impregnation - after all, they're just stupid hoebags if hey get all clingy after sexy time, and it's their fault if they get preggers. Both are romance/drama/harem shows where the main guy has trouble breaking up with girls and is very indecisive (School Days takes it to the extreme though). They both have somewhat unique art styles and are about equally good. The differences are that School Days is a bit darker and more mature, while Kimi no Iru Machi covers a broader time span.

Descent. All is good until the two protagonists make their life-changing choices which ultimately leads them down a path of internal conflict flourishing into destruction. Stories aren't the same with DN being a case of a prodigy making it his job to cleanse the world of its awful behaviour, School Days being a love story that has the MC fall into lust. Though both are still great original ideas that work well in presenting a dark scenario of two somewhat innocent people making very regrettable choices. Both are great stories focusing on how consuming a love for something can lead to the greatest downfall of a man.  read more

In both of these, a guy is building a harem. Depending on your definition of dark, both of these qualify. Both of these also work as "so bad its good".

unlike school days that bring you to the path of destruction, golden time tend to give the audience the path of salvation that there is a second time. despite those difference I believe that you can tell that both of these series are good. there are some similarities to both of these series. they are romance anime, and at some point you'll get annoyed to the main male character just like "how could you do that ?" or something like that. you might also feel same atmosphere in both of them. *don't hope any sexual sceen on golden time :p

School Days And Netsuzou TRap present relationship problems between the main characters such as cheating and keeping secrets from their partners. They also show the personal issues with each character, and have ecchi scenes in the form of 'practicing' for their partner. The concept is basically the same in both shows. (In Netsuzou for Takeda and in School Days for Kotonoha).

Mentally challenging girls harem, featuring breathtaking romance with large casualties. Loosely parodied role-playing genre games, most girls have their weapon of choice and battle to death for their prized boyfriend.

Although there are a lot of positive things to say about Another and School Days, if there is one factor that brings them together, it is how silly they are unintentionally. I don't mean to bring the two in a negative light but they can sometimes be a bit ridiculous to the point of comedic level. Regardless, Another and School Days use students to make a somewhat realistic story in how students would go around messy situations. Another does this with the calamity causing monthly deaths, School Days does this with teenagers who just don't know how to love properly. Both are presumptuous psychological anime that  read more

* Girl 1 is a yandere * Our MC has a secret crush on Girl 1 * Girl 2 helps MC get closer to Girl 1 * Girl 1 turns out to have feelings for MC as well * School harem -- Despite these similarities, School Days is a stark contrast to Renai Boukun which is a lighthearted, comedic, and nonsensical show you're not supposed to take seriously.
report Recommended by smugasuka
Both shows seem generic (albeit slightly edgy) at first, but then the ending comes along, and it blows the rest of the show out of the water (in a bad way). Additionally, both shows are considered the absolute nadir of both their respective genre (harem for School Days, Panty fighter for Master of Martial Hearts), and both are absolutely despised by many people who have had the misfortune of seeing them. Chances are that those who enjoy one will enjoy the other.
report Recommended by RoarkTenjouin
In the beginning, there are normal teenagers, who are nice to each other. But then, along with changing circumstances, the darker parts of their personalities emerge. A drama develops, in which the actors loose their rationality and get more and more driven by their passion. Conflict and violence occurs... I love it when characters are driven to their extremes, which is one of the reasons why I would count School Days and Mugen no Ryvius to my favorites.

Spoiler warning! Both these titles feature mostly unlikeable characters, and bad ending(s). If you are tired of all the likeable characters in other shows being nice to each other, check these out. Especially recommended if you need a nice cup of depresso every once in a while.

I don't know why. But watching freezing vibration feels like school days. the atmosphere very similar. If you love mixed emotion anime go watch these two series. they have different plot but shares the same feels.

In both series, there are main characters that you may get to dislike or even hate, due to their morally questionable choices. Also, both titles have a highly dramatic finale. School days is an often maligned visual novel adaptation, however if your looking for a harem anime that mixes up the genre troops and one with a truly un-redeemable, extreme protagonist, then schools days is a much better candidate to Rent-a-Girlfriend.

Yes, I will elaborate. School Days and Shitcom are honestly very misunderstood to the point of extreme disbelief. I do believe that both are very extreme but they share common ground on touching what is essentially our reality. School Days, a story of misfortune, betrayal, broken morals. Shitcom, a story of poop coming from the wrong places. The similarity between them is that they both are stories based on stuff that is very real, and very common. With both being extreme, however, they play into real-life scenarios that aren't far off our own. School Days doing this with high school relationships that are never always lovey-dovey,  read more

Quite possibly some of the most "worst" anime out there. The real similar quality between the two is how they both need to be driven through in one go as any long time may cause demotivation. Then comes some of the most controversial endings anime has to offer. Quite a few dumb characters here that make you want to stop living whenever you encounter them too. They are hard to sit through but they both have this same unique effect given off when all is said and done.

Both Code Geass R2 and School Days are psychological and thought-provoking animes involving a morally questionable main character who is surrounded by a bunch of girls who want a piece of him. (basically both are harems but SD is more open about it) Both also have two of the most shocking endings ever.

Believe it or not, School Days and Milkyway both take place in the same universe, as their source material came from the same company. If, like me, you're a huge degenerate and can't get enough of the wacky world of 0verflow, consider giving Milkyway a watch.

- Characters face a similar ending. - There's a brief moment of redemption for each character. - The tone is similar, as it explores ethical values. - The ending is vastly different than expected/desired from the viewer. look, each anime goes from 0 to 100 real fast, so I'd check out one if you've seen the other.

They both have crazy teens up to no good with knives in their hands. More importantly, Shigofumi and School Days do show students having pretty messed up lives a ton of which focuses on real-life tragic moments extrapolating all the way to school life. Shigofumi does this with the deaths of others making an impact on the living via the Shigofumi letters, in ways usually negative. School Days does this with a love story that turns into anything but, unfaithfulness and interceptions around every corner. Both are pretty well made psychological anime.

You don't have to be the cause of your own demise, those next to you can easily break your life even if unwelcomed. School Days and Perfect Blue are unfortunate realities of those close to you, in some shape or form, being able to wipe off all the happiness they once gave you. A pitiful tale of young maidens being broken. School Days does this with Kotonoha's relationship with Makoto quickly going to hell due to the immoral behaviour of the latter. Both series feature characters in highschool more or less having fun, but tensions start to build up during the show and in the end things end up really bad for basically everyone involved. Both are an example of a school anime gone wrong. In School Days things go wrong because of the characters themselves, while in Danganronpa 3 Zetsubou-hen a person outside of the group causes everything to end up bad.

Both animes tell a story about character development and improvement, on one hand ichigo at the start cant do anything but at the final stage he can even beat Casper, and on the other School days main characters at the start hes only a noob doing what he does (+18) but ends up being pretty good at it.

World's End Harem is like a sci-fi version of School Days to me. Plenty of borderline Hx moments. Doi is similar to Makoto in terms of his lack of self restraint growing as the series progresses, in addition to his, well, relations with the harem members. They are both love or hate series. If you love one, you will love the other, and vice-versa.

Both are deconstruction attempts at their genres, blackmail hentai and harem ecchi respectively. Both do not succeed at that completely, yet still leave the viewer disturbed about their messed up stories. They share a similar plot twist towards the end and a similar character psychology and development. Neither of them has likeable characters, which in both cases probably is intended. Both contain sexual scenes, which however don't really feel "good and happy". Both have an "ugly" art style.

Both of these school-themed animes are twisted in their own ways. However, the similarity is that while in the start, they both seem innocent, after a while (School Days takes a bit longer) it all starts to go downhill and you see the dark, hidden meaning. If you like cute mixed with horror, these two are for you.

if you think about it, oregairu is like "what if school days was a romcom without constant betrayal and lying". - both have nihillistic main characters who dont give a damn about anything most of the time, but like to be helpful on rare occasions - mcs furthermore struggle with social interactions - different girls having feelings for them as well - basic school life anime with pretty common school events like school festivals

These shows are much more about the overall story than the characters - you might not be rooting for any of the characters because you find them unlikable, or maybe you're rooting for the bad guys, but the story as a whole gets you invested.
