The MCs have family issues, revolving around the emotional refusal/abandonment of their surviving blood relative. Both have the word taiyou (sun) in their titles, that are used as a metaphor.

Enen no Shouboutai
add

Ao no Exorcist and Enen no Shouboutai have similar male MCs. Both are stubborn and strong-willed, with an mysterious past and an ability that is in connection to the antagonists. They both fight hard for their friends and are willing to reach their hand out to help those in need. I find that the other main and supporting characters mirror each other. Both occur in a supernatural world with abnormal, out of this world type of enemies.

Black Clover
add

Both are very similar with: -magic and mages, -action shounen, -overpowered charcters who are on the verge of death but come back alive even stronger, -guilds, -rivals and who will be the best, -and friendship. Even the beginning, the antagonist are the other guilds, then transitions to a greater evil. Black Clover feels more mature? than fairy tail, with less in-your-face-ecchi and keeping more of a dark-fantasy theme and characters. Fairy Tail uses more anime and cartoon-y approach.

Tsurune: Kazemai Koukou Kyuudou-bu
add

Upon watching the first episode of Tsurune, I would say that both the MCs from Shigatsu and Tsurune have a past that has barred them from excelling at their respective "sport". Especially, both MCs are excellent at their arts, but are unable to recover from a tragedy until they have received the support of friendship. -MC with a past -Friendship -Slice of life

However, they come back to playing their sport after their friends and other supporting members help them recover/motivate them back to their original dreams. Both MCs are also good at their sports prior. -Sports -Traumatic event in the past -Friendship

Both sports anime and many parallels between characters and their personalities. Both MCs are good at their respective sports. -MC with a past -Sports and friendship -Slice of Life -KyoAni -GREAT OSTS

Golden Kamuy
add

Both their adventures have a breather-point of cooking what ever food they can find, taking a food break from the story. Dungeon Meshi has more of a fantasy setting, where the food is surrounding them (creative cooking) vs Golden Kamuy is more realistic, traditional cooking. Also, facial expressions, especially distaste is gross food material, is similar. All the food looks good though!
