The development of metal series has reaching its climax in this season. That's when the synchrom combination being introduced, it has a great potential, not only in anime but also in a competitive battle among the previous metal series that ever released. The metal design and curve deserve more elaboration and variations if it's not because the series has to be ended in 38 episodes.

released under regular booster or starter box. Apparently, this is the last series where female bladers were treated competitive. But most importantly, the decent fanservice is available. It means the target market are not only kids but also teenagers and adult which is a good strategy for better market reach.
The avatars has solid themes and portraying various familiar iconic creatures in mythology as well as the new one, Ifraid, that being the avatar of the main character in this season, Zyro Kurogane. Several others are also newly introduced in this season. As a result, this season can be considered as an inspiration and pioneer of the series that follow afterwards.
After considering those factors, 5 is the best score that I can give while the other remaining burst series receive 4 at best. This is the detail of my assessment;

Takara Tomy should make the remake version of Zero-G with extended story line where the characters can compete globally. That way, the story tension and interest may rise significantly and draw more viewers that result in better popularity.

Here we go again. It's been awhile since the last time I made a review but I decided to make a review of the 5th season though it's not really that worthy in my opinion.
Basically, the main formula for this season is the recurring or should I say the over recurring characters from previous seasons. Well, they're great and kids will just happily celebrate it with their new shiny bey, yippey. The minor part is of course the new characters that appear and maybe should take a major portion in the new season. But yeah, whatever, the decision is not mine to make to begin

with. They're so minor that you can count how many new characters appear here, main characters twin, bombers and that Valhalla guy. That's all, seriously.
One thing that should make this season included in comedy genre is the overpowered early version of Lucifer that can wipe out any beys, even pros, entirely that make it invincible but in contrast is extremely not competitive and poor in real battle. Even though it's funny, but maybe that's the fantasy part of this season. But being in fantasy genre, I prefer the spinning tops that can wreck a large building and cause apocalypse. Kinda more epic than simply irrationally strong beyblade that far from reality.
The other weakness is no need to mention, what can you really expect anyway, it is indeed genetically transferred again and again. So it's the same, no special girls' bey, no fanservice whatsoever (Hey, it's baby friendly right), abstract avatars that look like robotic alien from interplanetary creature or things, etc.

If Takara is truly targeting larger market that includes wide range of age and gender, they have to put more effort. Maybe it is because specific gender has specific toys, but that's kinda gender biased and old minded way of thinking. Toys are meant for fun and it should be able to be enjoyed by any gender from all ages.
There might be tiny hope in the future dynamite season. Though not much, I just yeah, can do nothing but to swallow anything thrown on my face because I can really do nothing about it. Good luck, hopefully the recurring character in that season can rise the toy sales.

It is normal for toy based anime to promote their latest product using anime as medium. Beyblade is about toys and it always be.
But when the proportion itself is larger than the overall story, it will reduce the enjoyment of the anime itself, make it no more than advertising medium with mediocre storyline. That's the current trend of modern Beyblade franchise.
In contrast, the best series so far, Bakuten Shoot G-Revolution, never heavily emphasized on promoting product, but focusing on interesting story and enough character development. Without implicitly stating "Boys only toys" in the story, that proved by the absence of competitive female bladers

in this recent series, the earlier version of Beyblade was indeed has no gender equality issue. Even if I've watched until final episode, nothing changed at all. Not to mention its several repetitive last episodes that only show nothing except focusing on Gwen's hatred and unstable emotion make it even more boring to watch.

If Takara is truly targeting larger market that encompass wide range of age and gender, then they have to improve their strategy. Plastic generation, even though never heavily advertised, in fact still popular and give a great remark for Beyblade fans due to its memorable story, this will eventually result in long term selling products that will give better profit for the company itself.
The average score of latest generation was always less than its predecessors, I hope Beyblade will get better in the future in order to break its downgrade tradition.

The burst series seem to be destined to not get any improvement in the story at all. What you will see only a series of battling and burst scene, meeting bad guy or something. It lacks of story development and character's emotional complexity. Unlike a previous Beyblade series that enable the viewers to actually feel the emotional motives and bond among its members. An anime is about a story, art and beauty not simply just showing your toy products from different angle. If the story is able to mark a deep impression. worth nothing but random stuff from the past.
The common issue that still occurs since the beginning of burst season up to GT season is the fact that Beyblade started to become boys-only toys that proved by the fact that you will never found even a single female blader with non-random beyblade, in fact their presence is almost non-existent at all, and never takes major part in storyline whatsoever. Valkyrie, a Beyblade from one of the main character in the series, whether being concious or unconsiously, was made under the design of androgynous avatar, even though it is obvious from mythological perspective that Valkyrie has a female gender to begin with. You can notice it from episode 51 in Beyblade Burst God, even though the voice actor changed into a male masculine voice in non-japanese dub version. Unlike the Virgos from Metal Fight series that looks gorgeous without putting themselves under a tight armor with bad-ventilation helmet, there is something I wrong from this burst series and it's many. Will it continue until the 5th season comes out. Meh, don't expect much.

The problem that existed since the 1st season doesn't seem to be solved at all. Even within world championship, there's never been any competitive female blader spotted around. Each and every female bladers in burst series always play as side role character instead of being equally competitive as male bladers. The non competitive bladers characterized as a bladers that use random bey composition and parts, instead of having its own beyblade that differ from other bladers.
In Bakuten series, we are familiar with Emily with her trygator, queen with her gabriel, and many other competitive female bladers with exclusive beyblade to her own. Even during metal

fight series, there is a character like Hikaru with her Wind Aquario, Sophie with her Grand Cetus, and many more female bladers still considered as being competitive and able to stand competitively against unknown bladers.
It is sad to see that each and all females bladers in the burst series always include as those unknown bladers in previous era, especially to see the fact that world beyblade series 2018 has female blader as its finalist. It is sad, to see something as such was never existed in its anime version. Therefore, what I see in the current Beyblade series is no more than a lust of selling and promoting its toy and accesories, the scene of battle intensivied to present the perspective while the character, setting and story development greatly cut to serve those purpose.
After considering those factors, 5 is the best score that I can give while the other remaining burst series receive 4 at best. This is the detail of my assessment;
