If you like lighthearted, slice of life, comedy gintama is definitely for you. Gintamas main plot is. there are aliens who came to earth and took over edo. It follows the main character gintoki (who works as a freelancer) and his two friends kagura and shinpachi. They take on many jobs and meet a lot of fun likeable characters.
if you want to watch a anime for a compelling story from what I’ve seen so far (I’m on episode 73) gintama might not be for you but if you just want to have a good time. And get some laughs in and maybe shed some tears
