Spoiler
I typically write a leading paragraph before my reviews, but I'm gonna skip it for this one, given how short the show is. It isn't even really a show at all, but a movie divided in two. It isn't even really a movie, either. It's a pilot. A pilot that didn't get picked up and was released as-is to recoup whatever it could.

So, what the hell is this even?

Let's start with the art, since it's the most glaring. I get it not everything has to look and animate like Akira, but this came out around the same time that Cowboy Bebop did and resembles a ...

For most, shows like Family Guy and South Park push or exceed the line of acceptable television. Though not all of their content make it past the censors, their unapologetic shots at religion, the LGBT community, and the disabled make them subjects of marked controversy, and are even outright banned from syndication in parts of the world. It's hard to imagine there could be material worse than that, short of porn.

Then, there's Panty & Stocking. A show so glaringly rife with profanity, toilet humor, and sex jokes, it doesn't just make the previous two look like Sesame Street by comparison, it questions mankind altogether. Who ...

Mixed Feelings
Happy Lesson: The Final is quite possibly the most unfulfilling ending to a series I've seen in a long time. Going into it I thought, finally, a conclusion... of the heart. Would Fumitsuki confess (again) and end up that doting schoolgirl who gets together with her crush, or would Kanna steal him away and find out in the end he'd always had a thing for her? I was excited to find out.

The choice was surprising, though not in a good way. It's made obvious early on who Chitose likes more, and in the process, diminishes both the final scene, as well as the continuity of ...

Discovered this a couple days ago as a recommendation somewhere and decided to give it a watch. Simply terrible. For one, the story is confusing, and unconvincing. Sure, bodies are cleaned and treated for burial, or cremation, but not in the way this title would lead you to believe. Not every doctor has to undergo morgue training, either. The series, clearly targeting those with a more, macabre discretion, also fails. The art and animation is wildly inconsistent, making otherwise somber moments funny, and erotic ones flat. The main dude's junk, of particular note, frequently changes size and shape. Almost as if the budget was running ...

Based on the visual novel of the same name, Trick or Alice is a disappointing, almost unnecessary thirty-minute hentai that never actually becomes a hentai. Besides some stills and a short-lived grope scene, the audience isn't treated to anything remotely sexual. Which is a shame, because the art and sound is actually really nice, the characters are cute, and for a genre that's kind of known for its rushed and sloppy presentation, this could have been quite a treat. In fact, this show is so devoid of its principle content, that if you were to edit out what sex it does contain, it would easily ...

Euphoria (Anime) add
Preliminary (5/6 eps)
A pleasant deviation from the hackneyed series produced these days, Euphoria is a captivating journey through the uglier, more despicable side of people and lust. Those sensitive to things like misogyny and sadism should best to avoid this.

As much as the uncertainty of the story drew me in, it has a much contrived feel to it and a disappointing number of plot holes. Later episodes intersperse scenes that reference events from the game that do not appear in the show, breaking continuity and making it overall convoluted. Like the visual novel, there is no definitive ending to the series, as each episode reflects an ...

Cowboy Bebop (Anime) add
Finding the words to describe Cowboy Bebop proved to be more difficult than I imagined. The series is a true masterpiece of animation and one of few that genuinely deserves a 10 rating across the board.

Of all the elements in the show, the one worthy of special mention is the music score, composed by Yoko Kanno. It is undoubtedly some of the most atmospheric music of any series and one the show is best known for.

The plot is nonlinear. While each character has an underlying agenda, it is their environment that ultimately decides where life takes them. Scripting for the show is exceptional; episodes are ...

Tenchi Muyou! (Anime) add
Tenchi Universe is a spin-off to Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki. Like its inspiration, the series remains a harem comedy, following the tangled life of Tenchi Masaki and his extraterrestrial visitors.

The story is similar to the first series: progressive events cause an assemblage of characters, mishaps create subplots, a threatening antagonist later appears and the group pits to stop them. The artwork is less shaded and the animation isn't as fluid but it all still looks good. Audio is backed with a library of different music, spot-on sound effects and believably acted voices. Bolder content, like nudity, swearing and sexual references, is a lot more minimal.

One of ...

True Blue (Anime) add
True Blue is, without a doubt, a very subjective hentai. Based on an eroge of the same name, besides the otherwise elegant title, viewers who do not harbor malicious fetishes are very likely to be offended or even disgraced from watching this series.

The entire show is a mostly opulent display of barbaric rape upon a helpless schoolgirl, Mamoru Kanzaki, by her repulsive fitness teacher Yuuitirou Shiyouda. Besides her eventual breaking point, there is no story here.

The art is good, animation decent and sound pretty standard. Yuuitirou is an unlikeable character and watching him relentlessly have his morbid way with Mamoru can be sickening. If ...

Love Hina Again disappointed me. After watching the beginning five minutes of the first episode, I did not feel this sequel lived up to the name of the series.

The first noticeable difference in the show is the character art, which resembles manga more than anime. A minute difference yes, but it did take some getting used to. The tempo speeds up too suddenly at times, causing scenes to jump or end without much believable transition. Coupled with a predictable storyline, I felt this gave Love Hina Again a very rushed feel.

Audio is probably the only redeeming factor of the show. Characters are appropriately voiced by ...
