Heroman
add

420 - Big white avatars/robots, fighting together reluctantly brave heroes. Invasions, military, explosions, "alien" possession, and teenagers. Except Xam'd has the hero in complete sync with the avatar in some Steampunk reality, while Heroman has the hero working along side the avatar/robot in modern day California.

Bakemonogatari
add

420 - Both are similar because they feature a reluctant, impotent but extremely invulnerable high school male main character, who continuously finds himself saving (passive) aggressive females who become enamored with him. Though Toaru Majustu never really commits to just one female, and Bakemonogatari is more sexually charged.

Same kind of fragmented story-telling: a mixture of noir, paranormal/abnormality, with varying degrees of sexual tension while centering on a strong female heroine.

Kekkaishi
add

Both feature adolescent males with a guilt-complex, who are dense, hot-blooded, and intensely protective of a more intelligent girl who feel obligated to share in responsibility of guarding the surrounding area of demonic invaders. Though considering Inuyasha's popularity, Kekkaishi offers a better plot, less repetition, and a more varied cast of re-occuring characters.

Both showcase an antagonistic global corporation that is flirting with catastrophe for profit. Also, both anime make good use of CG style animation, and have strong gun-toting heroines as central figures.
