What better thing to do at night than to stay up to about 12 watching anime, especially one about food?
(LONG REVIEW!)
I honestly love the story. One of my favourite stories out there, though I have not seen that much anime. If you're going to be thinking of boring people cooking boring food, then you are very wrong. have somewhere to go to or maybe you're staying up late. The story was linked up and no bullshit or fillers were made up on the spot. Romance in a food competition sounds very unlikely, but this anime succeeded in doing it. You would think that once there's romance in a competition that it would lose its "exciting-ness", because it would start wandering off the story and being focused more on the relationship between the couple. The romance adds spice to the story, making it more interesting and so that the main character isn't all lonely. Speaking of romance, it wasn't hinted out that much but yes there is a harem, and one with a childhood friend-type of thing. To me, there's nothing wrong with that but that's really cliché. The childhood friend relationship has been used in a lot of romance anime and it does get tiring, though it doesn't affect the story that much. My favorite out of the rest is the action. Everytime there's an action scene involving Soma, it always gives me goosebumps. The fact that even though he isn't a rich kid who comes from a wealthy background, but a middle-class family and still have the talent of cooking to the level of a world class chef, somehow gives me goosebumps. Anyways, enough about the story.
The first thing that struck my mind and gave me a puzzling look was that the illustrator of the anime was actually someone who was very used to ecchi-type drawings. I liked the fact that he used that talent in a different atmosphere with less ecchi. The art was amazing and the food, even though it's an animation, still made me hungry. The bright colours and the smooth coloring and drawings contributed to that. I'm quite happy that the eyes aren't the size of a planet, unlike some anime. Some people like it, but personally I don't. The one funny thing I love about the art is the emotions in some people's faces. It can get pretty funny.
Sound was one of the main contributes to why I get goosebumps in some scenes. You want an epic scene? Let's throw in an epic OST. You want a sad scene? Let's throw in a sad piano OST. I also liked the orchestral voices in the anime, showing some class instead of metal, which I have no problem with. I also loved the fact that the voice actor they used for Soma was Sora, from No Game No Life (a very successful anime). He voice-acts some of my favorite male characters, because the character he voice-acts as is very cool.
Yukihira Soma is a very supportive and hardworking character. If you thought serving over 200 to customers under half an hour was impossible, to Soma, it isn't. The others admire him as he is what influences them to be stronger and mentally capable of what's around them. He is very smart and efficient, as shown on how he demonstrates the fact that he used honey to tenderise the beef. He isn't the type to think the once you're strong, you can't get stronger. Everytime he gets better at cooking, he focuses on what he needs to do to improve. The other side to him is his dumb yet funny personality. If you have heard of Yoshi Akihisa (from Baka to Test), that stupidity is quite similar to Soma's. It doesn't get annoying, but it becomes tolerable to the point that you want to see more of that side to him. Other characters that are an honourable mention are Saiba Jouichiro (the dad of Soma) who is a very friendly dad and is Soma's goal to surpass him. Very similar to Soma, except older and now more mature. Tadokoro Megumi, a very humble and kind girl. He used to dislike Soma, because she thought that he would only be a nuisance in becoming a good chef, but she thought wrong and became his partner in climbing the ladders to becoming a good chef. Nakiri Erina, aka Gods Tongue, because of the fact that as a baby her palette only accepted the best of the best types of foods. She always thinks high of herself, but I think she might have a crush on Soma.
I enjoyed this anime too much. I would stay up until 1 watching this anime. Every episode, I would tell myself that it would be the last one I watch but it just drags me in. The reactions from the taste testers were pretty funny, as they are not just normal reactions.
Overall, a 9/10. I can't give my full opinion on this anime yet, as it is just in its first season and a second season might be released around summer 2016. Would I rewatch the first season again? Definitely!

The best thing to do at night is to write a review on your phone, right before going to sleep, at 12 am and having to wake up at 6:30 am for school. Stay in school kids.
The story was quite confusing to me. It went around the place without staying on a main theme. A new girl comes up? Sure, let's add a fucking dragon that wants her. It wasn't very original either. The only male to have an ability most females have and be placed in a school where everyone is a female. Sound familiar enough? (Hint: INFINITE STRATOS)

not over-the-top fan-service and some decent action. Loli fan-service is a no no. To add to that, there was only one kissing scene in the anime, considering it's a harem AND romance. I swear every male protagonist in a harem is gay. Action wasn't that good, but it wasn't the worst thing in the anime. It wasn't that epic to give me goosebumps and usually the male protagonist would be OP and apparently this one would be (as mentioned that D or not, the main character would never be defeated) but it didn't look like it, nor did he have many abilities that would surprise everyone around him and make them think that he's the saviour of the world. The story in the anime isn't finished yet, so the rating of this review might change.
The art was above average and it wasn't very dull. The bright colours would help a happy scene become more happy and sad scenes become more sad. Like some anime, the thing that was intrigued me was the size of the eyes. It's almost half the size of their heads. I know this is pretty common but if it's that big it starts to become weirder.
One thing I'm going to mention about sound is that I read a comment in the anime website I watched it on was that apparently the soundtrack was "stolen" off a 3DS game. That's not confirmed but it was a bit interesting. The OP/ED was ok, but I don't judge anime based on just the music.
Like I mentioned in the first paragraph, I hate male protagonists who are very oblivious to around him. As a straight male, I'd rather want someone who is very cool, calm and smart male character. Mononobe Yuu is the male character in the series. Yes he has some parts about him I don't like, but at least he's not the type to hold all the girls and not even choose one. Mononobe Mitsuki is Yuu's supposed sister. I like girls who are hardworking, but sometimes being too hardworking can get annoying. She is the type to do it all by herself and would sacrifice herself. I know that sounds like a glorious thing to do, but you're not only and have friends to help you. She is smart and cool on the outside, but emotional in the inside. Other characters are semi-likeable, depending on your tastes of women.
If I was stranded on an island after a plane crash and my laptop was with me, along with my TB harddrive full of anime, I would probably skip on this. I mildly enjoyed it at the start but it got really repetitive after. Some people have different tastes and I do like ecchi/harem/romance/action type anime, but this wouldn't pass my standards.
If you're thinking of similar anime to this, I would say Infinite Stratos. Like I said, personally I didn't really like this anime but if you're like me and bored most of the time, then this might help you cure your boredom. I don't like forcing other people not to watch the anime just because of a review of why people don't like it. Would I re-watch it? Sorry, but that's a no. Though, there might be a Season 2 if the sales are good.

Romance and comedy, without showing any ecchi sounds like an anime that wouldn't be popular, unless done beautifully. This anime showed almost no ecchi and personally, this anime succeeded with flying colours.
Rom/com stories are usually the hardest to make, mainly because it can get boring if the jokes aren't funny or the romance isn't working out and people don't like it. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun, did both of those mentioned beautifully. It wasn't boring at all, though I couldn't find much story in the anime, though the jokes made up for it. a lot of story. The comedy in this anime is very random and unexpected and sometimes may leave you laughing or cringing. The romance(s) in the anime isn't too developed, but I think that's for the better. If there is a relationship, then there will always be a breakup. Drama in this anime would have disappointed me, because sometimes it can get annoying. Moving aside, the only story I could dig out of the anime was relationship developments.
The art is pretty refined and smooth and something about Sakura's facial features remind me of someone. The art is very nice, vibrant and happy. The animation is very smooth, not choppy. I just realised for there are a lot of different types of eye designs in the anime.
The sound section for me is probably the most boring to review, if the OP or ED is mediocre or boring. The only thing I could comment on the anime is the beautiful piano soundtracks that impact the scenes.
I would think that this is the first time to put a full score on characters, because the side or main characters are unique, random and have their own loveable characteristics, such as Seo's carelessness. Nozaki was the dense type of character but he's actually likeable, because he can turn any awkward moment into a funny moment. Sometimes, he can be random and that's why I also like him. Sakura has a massive crush on Nozaki, but everytime she tries to be romantic, it always turns into a funny scene. She is very cute and isn't very needy or selfish, unlike other female characters. She's very kind and gentle to other people, especially people who are her friends. There are also a lot of relationships developing throughout the anime, which is very cute and their relationship is very funny, due to their reactions to each other.
Enjoyed this anime a lot, since I would watch it on my phone until 12 am. Damn, sleeping schedules are screwed up. There is never an episode where I wouldn't laugh or even giggle at all, because this anime is too funny.
Overall, a 9/10. The reason it isn't a perfect 10 is because there are a lot of anime which do Rom-com genre and it gets overused. Yes, this anime did it succesfully but if it was a bit more unique, then I would've given it a 10/10. Would I rewatch this? Yes, if I ever want a laugh.

You like basketball? You like anime? If you like the following, then damn sure you will like this anime, a lot.
Usually, all sports anime have one thing in common with all of their stories, and that is to be the best in that sport. This anime is one of the many other anime that have done really well sticking to its story. Even if there was a filler, it was because that parts of the story may have been needed to be explained. or more episodes. If you watch and play basketball, like I do, then you would be surprised at what the players can do. Some of them can shoot from the backcourt, some having the ability to fly up in the air or maybe copying an opponent's move without practicing it. Yes it sounds crazy, but if you were watching a basketball anime, you'd like to see something unexpected. If you don't like watching superhuman powers, then you might as well just watch an NBA game. Also, if you know the rules of basketball, then you would be angry at screaming at a player that does a travel and it isn't called.
For me, the art style in the anime gets progressively better each season. The animation is quite smooth but it gets progressively smoother and smoother, with more abilities being revealed from each character. The colours of their hair may seem unnatural, but hey, this is anime.
The sound was probably one of the main factors in this anime and the reason why this anime succeeded. The soundtracks that play actually engage your emotions and give you goosebumps. I was shaking because of how epic a match was! I also liked most of the OP and ED. It was really catchy for me.
For me, there weren't any characters that I disliked at all, even if they were an antigonist. Each character was very unique and had their own unique abilities. The GoM were introduced as a scary and overpowered, but once they are defeated, they show their weak or good side, making them likeable. The character development in the anime wasn't too rushed. If they wanted to train their abilities, it isn't just a POOF and here is a godly power where you stop time and block every shot. They work hard and have a hardworking ability. Also, this anime shows that the protagonist always wins in some situations.
I enjoyed this anime a lot. A cousin of mine showed me this anime and since that day, I was really addicted to this anime. I would be shaking if there was an epic scene in anime. This anime also made me go back to playing basketball, so thanks Kuroko.
Overall, a 9/10. There are a lot of cliff hangers in the anime, but that's more of a reason to continue watching. Would I re-watch this? Yes, I would love to.

It's been awhile since I last reviewed an anime and I had my own way of reviewing it, but this time I'll go for something new.
Have you ever watched an anime and after finishing it, you think to yourself, I should've not watched it. Most people will interpret that because I said this, the anime will be bad. The only reason I regret watching this anime is because of all the feels I'm getting right now at 2 am in the morning, just after finishing Plastic Memories.

in, it still did pretty well. The story started off quick and introduced almost all of the side/main characters. You would expect a first episode to be all happy and that, but as a man, it almost made me cry because of how sad the ending of the first episode was. There isn't any violence/gore for you anime-watchers who aren't into that kind of stuff. Rather, this anime focuses more on comedy, romance and making you cry because of how sad it is. Sometimes the story will drag, but that's because they don't want you bursting your tears out in the first 5 episodes. A bit of sadness, then happiness, then sadness again. It was slightly funny for me, but that's mostly because of how random it is or the faces the characters make during some scenes. Though, some parts of the story need to be covered more.
The art is actually one of the best I've seen in a while, though that's to be expected from an anime illustrated this year. Colours are bright to catch the eye of the viewer, not too dull and the choice of colours used are superb. Some people say graphics is not what's most important when playing a video game, or watching a film, but would you want your viewers to decide whether that 2 by 2 pixel in front of them is a cat or a dog?
Sound quality was pretty good, but I wouldn't be able to judge a lot of it mainly because I listened to the anime with headphones that have 1 side working. The piano OST playing in the background actually makes the scene more emotional or maybe relaxing. For me, sometimes I could see if the anime is sad or happy by the choice of the OP the anime uses, and for this one I could tell it was sad. Nothing special about the ED, just cheerful music playing.
Ooh, characters. For me, character development was probably the best thing about the characters (wut). At the start, some of the characters were very unlikeable but as the anime progressed, they became very likeable, because of what they do to help the main character. The only character that wasn't very special for me was probably Tsukasa. He's too much of a wuss. He needs to man the fuck up, suck it up and move on, fix the issue. Isla was somewhat of an uphill-downhill-uphill development. I liked her at the beginning, then she started being a bit of a bitch (expected in a romance anime) but she progressively got a bit more likeable after. In my opinion, Zack was probably one of my most liked character, because of his "cool" and "I don't give 2 shits what's happening" attitude.
Enjoyed this anime A LOT. I was watching the 2nd season of To-Love Ru Darkness and I saw the cover of the anime. Looked at the genres and immediately saw "comedy" and "romance". I had to watch it, so I decided to watch it on my phone. Staying up to about 3 am to watch episodes of this anime was a bit fun, but headaches aren't the next morning. Also, there is a cliff hanger that would irritate everyone because of how important of why they should reveal it. Season 2 plz.
Overall, a 9/10. If you can control your audiences' emotions just by using story, art and voice acting, then you have done something right. The emotions you want to pull out are mainly happiness, sadness, goosebumps or curiosity. If it's anger, then you've done something wrong. Would I re-watch this? You might as well ask me if I should re watch Angel Beats! (yes I would re watch definitely).

You have the chance to go to war, represent your country and possibly even win it and get a medal of honor, but have a high chance of dying in battle or stay at home, doing nothing to contribute to the war and live a normal, boring life, staying at home and playing computer games, meeting up with friends and watching movies at the nearest cinema, though it's a very low chance that you would die. One would change your life forever, the other, well maybe it'll stay the same.
Let that sit in your mind for a while.
Story: 9/10

World War I/II, but with some supernatural history to it. Since this was based on a game, I thought that the anime wouldn't drag out too much and yes, I was right. Neither did it rush through the whole story too quickly, nor did it drag out. The story was explained without leaving questions in your mind like, "Why did that happen? Who was that? What happened before?". For me, the anime had some emotional value in it, because there was a character in the anime that died and I did tear up a bit. If a story can manipulate your emotions, then damn sure will it be good. The only thing I didn't like in this anime was the romance. The female character in the anime was teasing the audience so much that it annoyed me. Though, that stopped around the end. The action scenes were actually quite good. In fact, I wanted to see Welkin Gunther in action more, though he is only a commander and doesn't have a lot of physical strength.
Art: 9/10
The art was superb. I like to see new things, and I don't think I've seen art like this. The animation was smooth and the colors were nice and bright. The art for the eye isn't like your standard anime eye, it was more of a realistic look.
Sound: 8/10
The OST was nice and fit the scene, but sometimes it was a bit too loud when a character was speaking. There was also the sound of the rain which sounded like it was off RainyMood, which actually made the scene very relaxing, since I like the sound of rain. It wasn't overused and the whole soundtrack was so relaxing that I could listen to it without the speaking and fall asleep. The OP wasn't introduced until episode 6, which was a bit weird, but hey it sounded nice. Not the best OP, but it's better than most that I've heard. The 1st OP played for about 8 episodes, and no OP played until the 22nd episode. The 2nd OP in my opinion was as good as the 1st one, because it sounds nice. Though, I'd expect them to get a male singer since it is military, but hey I can't ask for anything else. The 1st ED was really funny to me, since it was auto-tuned (REALLY HEAVILY) but it was nice and was a happy song. The 2nd ED is more of a sad song and if you look at the lyrics, it's about love. Both of the ED also follow the OP's 'play for this much episodes and play a new one at the end' rule.
Characters: 7/10
Welkin Gunther, the protagonist of the story and the commander of Squad 7. He was introduced as an empty-minded character and he was really random. People also started saying on how he has a fetish for animals, because he really likes animals. People also question his logic, but in battle he can be smart. Outside he is tough and looks like he will never be depressed, but inside his mental ability is as weak as any average human.
Alicia Melchott, the aide-commander of Squad 7. She was introduced as the town watch for Bruhl and is a happy cheerful character. She is a baker and one old lady even praised her that she is on a master-level. Personally, she did annoy me because of her teasing, but after that she became a likable character.
Enjoyment: 9/10
I enjoyed this anime, mainly because this was the only thing I watched when I was bored. The action scenes were nice, but not enough that it'll give you goosebumps. It also gives you a view on what the soldiers see in the battlefield, what they experience and what they feel.
Overall: 9/10
This anime was very nice, but I wish it was continued a bit more. It needs to put an arc about the Valkyrians and the Darcsens, but I guess it was very unpopular and didn't get enough sales. Would I re-watch this? If I'm really bored, sure.

How to easily earn money without putting much story into it:
Step 1) Make your anime with a shit load of ecchi (this anime is borderline hentai) and put harem in there.
Step 2) ??????
Step 3) Profit.
Story: 6/10
The story isn't that original, mainly because I've seen other successful ecchi anime that have this story. Not only was the story unoriginal, but they also made the anime before Highschool DxD BorN's first episode. Though, a lot of people do enjoy these types of stories (mainly because of the fan-service and harem, duh) and personally I do too, but without too much fan-service. The ecchi was basically borderline-hentai and

overdone. If you want to watch ecchi, you might as well just watch a hentai. The action was actually quite decent, because the main character had a special ability. I do wish that the dad had more screen-time, because he's a total badass. The anime doesn't just start with a massive harem, but it starts to progress throughout the anime.
Art: 7/10
To me, the art looked like it was illustrated back in 2006 and someone found them in the drawers and decided to make that into an anime in 2015. Though, the animation was quite smooth and one thing that bothered me was how similar Issei and Basara looked a like. Mio looked a bit like Rias, but Mio looks younger. Also, there was one part where they censored a FUCKING TONGUE-KISSING SCENE. What the actual fuck?
Sound: 7/10
The OST was quite nice, sometimes it made the scene epic or made it more sad (or even more erotic). It fit the scenes nicely and wasn't overused or loud. I actually liked both OP and ED, but the OP more so than the ED. The OP is rock mixed with piano that fit the theme of the anime. The ED has a very calm and happy tune mixed in with rock. The episodes I didn't watch had subs for the ED but I'm sure they were talking about dreams and love (also, the ED animation had titties without nipples. If you're putting titties at the end, then you might as well either censor it or put nipples on it, or else they look like some hybrid alien.)
Character: 5/10
Toujou Basara, the hero and the protagonist of the story. A very cliche character for a harem anime. If you're a hero and the protagonist, then you're likely to have 5 million chicks sucking you off every minute. Basara is a man who does anything to protect his 'sisters', thus making him a very kind person. As the anime progresses, he gets stronger. '
Naruse Mio, the soon-to-be Demon Lord. Well well well, another cliche character. I've seen a lot of anime where the demon lord and the hero aren't fighting each other. In fact, sometimes they both fall in love with each other. She relies on Maria a lot, thus making her weak, even though she's a Demon Lord. Sometimes, whenever she's enraged, she does use her real strength. She grows much more attached to Basara as the anime progresses. Mio is really fucking useless though.
Naruse Maria, the loli-succubus. Aren't succubus supposed to have the desired body to attract male?? Why does Maria have a childish figure? Maria is a very strong and helpful character, fighting along side Basara to fend off against enemies, whilst protecting Mio. She likes to tease Basara a lot when they're both alone.
Nonaka Yuki, the female hero and the childhood friend of Basara. Yuki is very attached to Basara and has a lot of feelings for him, to the point where she hugs Basara on their reunion. She is ok in combat, at least not making herself useless.
Enjoyment: 8/10
The story was unoriginal and the characters were eh, but I still enjoyed this anime somehow. Even though half the time I was watching this anime there were white lines censoring the sexual activities, it was still ok. I enjoyed the actions scenes quite a bit.
Overall: 7/10
If you're planning on watching this, then please watch to the very last seconds of episode 12. After the ED, it's pretty epic. Would I re-watch this? Well, season 2 has been confirmed and if I like that, then maybe I will.

Absolute Duo is like a raisin cookie, everyone thinks it's a chocolate chip cookie and it will be good, until you eat it and realize it's not what you expected, unless you actually like raisin cookies.
Story: 5/10
The story is somewhat unoriginal, mainly because it's those types of anime where you are embedded a certain type of weapon that you carry on for the rest of your life, having the ability to summon it anytime you want. this anime the partner is a girl, and they both have to live in the same room. That calls for a shit-load of accidental boob-grabbing in the middle of the night. Not only is that there, but it's a harem. It's not needed for this kind of action anime, mainly because it's set on a duo, not a triplet or a quadruplet. For the action part of it, it's actually somewhat decent mainly because I enjoy those types of anime where the main character is a 'special/chosen/OP AS FUCK' type of character.
Art: 9/10
The art is very smooth and nice, just by looking at the cover photo. The colors are very bright and easily catch your eyes and the animation is smooth. The details in the eye are quite new to me, but hey new stuff means good stuff right?
Sound: 7/10
The OST is very modern and fits each scene nicely. My favorite in the sound section is the OP. I first heard it while playing a rhythm game (osu! kek) and instantly to me, it was catchy and stuck to my brain. The ED was the same with the OP, (I also heard it on osu! wtf) but not as good. It's based on apple tea, which is pretty weird for an ED.
Character: 7/10
Kokonoe Tooru, is a high-school boy who has a dark past. Tooru may look very weak, but as the anime progresses, he does get much more powerful. He's a very kind person who has the resolve to protect Julie and his other friends. He is an irregular.
Julie Sigtuna (heh tuna), is a high-school girl who also has somewhat of a dark past. She is introduced as a very powerful character and as the anime progresses, she gets much more powerful. She's very attached to Tooru and possibly has feelings for him. She is a very quiet girl and likes apple tea.
Together, they both make a duo.
Bristol, Lillith is girl who graduated and came all the way to Japan to meet the irregular, who is Tooru. She was introduced as a small antagonist but as the anime progresses, she develops feelings to the point where she even mentions of being his future wife. She is a prideful girl who would not let anyone stand above her.
Hotaka Miyabi is a high-school girl who is introduced a very shy character. She is introduced as weak and a not-very-athletic character, but as the anime progresses, she starts to also develop feelings for Tooru. A very kind girl who wants to be with Tooru.
Tachibana Tomoe is a high-school girl who is introduced as a strong character and is skilled at martial arts. She is the type of character who has never thought of being in love.
Miyabi and Tomoe are both a duo.
Enjoyment: 8/10
Although the story wasn't original, I still enjoyed it mainly because it was made in 2015 and I thought it was going to be something new.
Overall: 6/10
The anime to me was very rushed, because other things have not been explained, like the history of Exceeds, why this or why that. I doubt that there will be a season 2, because of the low ratings it got. It didn't live up to my expectations though. Would I re-watch this anime? Maybe, because I might have missed a lot of stuff.

A survival game in an uninhabited island based on an online game, now where have I heard of something similar to this?
Story: 8/10
The story was nicely done, even though it's a bit unoriginal. Though, Btooom! put its own twist in it by using rules from an online game called Btooom! (not a real game if you didn't know). The story had rape in it, and that's one thing I didn't like about the anime. If you're going to include rape in a survival game story, then you might as well make this whole series a hentai. actually keep it within the uninhabited island, and not in someone's high-school life. One more thing is that the rape was also just a bit overdone, because at the start, there was rape and maybe 4 minutes later, it shows a guy trying to 'punish' a girl. Though that probably adds some effect to the psychological side. There wasn't much sci-fi, other than the ability to find players that are close to you with a 'sonar ping' and BIMs that have unique abilities, such as timer bombs, cracker bombs or even implosions. It's very violent, but hey it's a survival game-type anime, you'd probably expect something like that. If you are the type who likes a slice-of-life, comedy-type anime, then you probably should stop reading this review.
Art: 7/10
I've heard a lot of things on how the character designs were from Death Note (I've actually never watched Death Note) and yes Light Yagami and Sakamoto Ryouta look similar. The animation and the art are actually quite nice, even though the character designs do look a bit 'old'. The colors can catch your eye easily.
Sound: 8/10
The OST isn't too loud but sometimes can be used unnecessarily, because there was this one scene where it was serious, but a 'sports-event' soundtrack was playing. Didn't bother me that much, as the OST didn't stand out that much, though it did make some scenes blood-rushing. The 1st OP is probably one of my favorite OPs, because it somehow motivated me. The line "the game has only just begun" gave me goosebumps and it got stuck in my head. The OP feels like it was made just for the OP for Btooom!. The 2nd OP didn't give me the same feeling the 1st one did, but it was alright. The ED was more for an old romance anime, but it sounded relaxing.
Character: 8/10
Sakamoto Ryouta, a full-time NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) and is the top Japanese player and is one of the best in the world. Sometimes, he can be stupid and act like a child, but other times, he's epic and smart. He is a kind person who thinks of others sometimes, but also has dirty intentions such as almost raping Himiko, but fortunately stopped himself before it escalated.
Himiko, a highschool girl who had a normal life until one day, where it all got twisted. She is shunned by her fellow classmates, even her best-friend, who now hates her. She hates all men except Ryouta because she is married to him virtually, but not knowing until later on. She's a fragile woman and sometimes can be weak. She almost gets raped quite a bit in the anime. Though apparently more rape = more love for Ryouta. Anime logic.
Enjoyment: 9/10
Survival game-type anime always work out nicely most of the time and I can't see why people are giving this low reviews. I really enjoyed this anime, even though I would be skipping out some boring parts.
Overall: 8/10
There are a lot of survival game-type anime. If you liked Btooom, then I suggest you check out Mirai Nikki. Would I re-watch this anime? Maybe, because it needs A SECOND SEASON.

When I read the synopsis without thinking much, the first thing that came to my mind was that all the characters in the anime, except for the protagonist, were females. I was wrong.
Story: 9/10
A story based on Japanese History, which actually entertained me and educated me a bit, mainly because I have Japanese classes. It wasn't boring, it didn't drag out that much and if it did, it would be fan-service/some comedy skit added into that. If I were to give a score on originality about the type of story being used in the anime, I'd give it a 9 but if I based it

on how much it entertained me, I'd give it a solid 4 but the only thing that saved it was they made it different by putting the protagonist to be someone from the future, having the 'ability' (not sure if I could call it an ability) to see the future. The type of male protagonist that come from the future/different worlds and want to save the current world always make the anime better, personally. It had a lot of action, mainly sword fighting and a little bit of magic I suppose. There's harem and romance, but the harem slowly develops throughout the anime, which doesn't bother me but as a guy who has watched a lot of harem/romance anime, it was very predictable on who's going to fall in love with the protagonist. It was somewhat funny, mainly using perverted jokes which are alright, but if overused and repetitive, can get really annoying.
Art: 8/10
I don't know if it's just me, but the art style gave a history-ish vibe. Other than that, the colors and nice and bright, animations are smooth and is very easy to catch the eye.
Sound: 7/10
The OST fit scenes nicely and used necessary, not overused and isn't too loud. The OP fit the theme of the anime, giving that 'army' vibe (I'm probably stoned) and the ED fits the romance side of the anime.
Character: 9/10
Sagara Yoshiharu, the protagonist who comes from the future (circa 400 years). He's very obsessed with history games, mainly with the Shogunate eras and all those. He's very talented, in his own ways because he remembers a whole period of time from the past and uses it to his knowledge to try to save characters from dying. A very kind but perverted person.
Oda Nobuna, a very cheerful girl who dresses very minimal. She's a tsundere (not a flat one!!) and cares a lot for the people she loves. She's not that smart, mainly because she is easy to trap. Without Sagara her nation would've died. Kind-hearted and caring (mostly to Sagara ;))
Enjoyment: 10/10
It was a new experience for me, as not only did it entertain me, but it actually educated me. Yes there's fan-service and a lot of 'loli' characters, but hey the action was quite nice.
Overall: 9/10
If there's a second season out there, I'd watch it. I really liked the idea of this anime. If you like protagonist who comes from a different world/future and wants to save the current world he is in, then Zero no Tsukaima is for you. If you like history but not very educational, then Hyakka Ryouran might suit you. Would I re-watch this? Definitely.
