If you like coming of age stories than i recommend Ping Pong The Animation. I won't lie, the art is excruciatingly horrible but after not too long you get used to it and come to not mind it. The story is great. You have a main cast of about 4 characters, each which have their own inner conflicts and as the show goes on you dive deeper into them.

I wouldn't say this is a sports anime, more so an anime that uses sports as a gimmick to help push it's themes and metaphors and such. At 11 episodes you'll be able to get through it ... fairly quickly.

Definitely check it out.

Baccano! is pretty interesting as a show and concept and the time period the show takes place in is great but I feel the execution is pretty bad but that’s just because i’m not a fan of this style of storytelling. If you seen Pulp Fiction then you’ll know what i’m talking about but Baccano! tells the same story from multiple points of views and in different points in time. So while it’s cool to see what someone is doing while certain events occur, it gets really confusing due to the constant jumping back and forth of POVs, not to mention the cast is huge ... and it’s hard to keep track of who someone is, who are they affiliated with and what their goals are. If the story was more linear then I personally would of liked it a lot more but oh well. I had to go read through a plot synopsis afterwards just to get a better understanding of things. Overall, I liked Baccano! tho, the mystery is interesting, it’s pretty graphic in terms of blood and killing, the music and voice acting (at least from the Eng Dub perspective) is great, and i’ll just add this in there but Issac and Miria are great. I also loved the series ended (not counting the OVAs, 14-16).

I’ll preference this off by saying I did enjoy my time with this show. It gave me huge Horimiya vibes but unlike Horimiya, My Little Monster is inferior in terms of characters, comedy, and overall writing but it’s still a decent show.

It’s one of those “Will they, won’t they” stories where at multiple points in the story the main “couple” aren’t on the same page in terms of their relationship and feelings because of something the other said and/or did, which causes a gap between the two that they must overcome just to create another one not to far into the future, which could ... be pretty annoying. The side characters also don’t really get much backstory or characterization aside from just being a part of this little gang of unique personalities that come together somehow despite being widely different from each other.

The MC (Shizuki Mizutani) is pretty unlikable and a borderline sociopath. I didn’t hate her but I didn’t like her.

The love interest ( Haru Yoshida ) is one of those edgy “he’s so weird that he’s cool so I like him” type characters, tho he does some very unlikable things multiple times throughout the series.

The rest of the gang is just there.
-Natsume is the nice one, she has a little story arc that goes nowhere.

-Kenji isn’t relevant until the last 3 episodes, and his little story arc goes nowhere.

-Kenji’s gang are mostly background characters. As far as i’m aware, they don’t even have names, it’s just a group of 3 guys who are “comedic relief delinquents”. They were fun for what they were though.

-Oshima was there, her story arc goes nowhere.

-Sasayan is cool but doesn’t add much either. He’s the bro that’s just there to let everyone know how Haru has changed.

My biggest gripe with My Little Monster is that a lot of things go nowhere and as a result the final episode while very wholesome, isn’t satisfying and I can easily see a lot of people being left angry, frustrated or disappointed. Haru’s whole beef with his brother and father was very interesting but is dropped off the face of the planet mid way through the series and never elaborated on, which sucks cause it could of done so much more for the story. Oshima, Kenji, Natsume and Mizutani’s story arcs never amount to anything either.

I will say, I haven’t and don’t plan on reading the manga, but I’m assuming that if there is a season 2, the story would be filled in more but as of right now there is no season 2 and these are my thoughts on Season 1.

The Promised Neverland definitely had potential to be amazing but sadly it flopped the ball hard and then it got rushed and in the end it was a mess. The final arc went on for a bit too long between the set up that seemed to never end, the fighting that didnt interest me and the ending which just confused me to the point where i had to drop the manga because I didn't know what was happening anymore.

For me personally peak The Promised Neverland was the first Saga dealing with Mother Isabella and the Orphanage, after that only the 2nd arc afterwards was good ... until it personally started to lose my interest. ​


I personally didn't care for any of the characters outside of Emma (who could be a turn off since shes such a happy go lucky type of character who's ideology and beliefs borderline insanity with just how unrealistically optimistic she is ) and Ray (who is the more rational) and one more character introduced later on who i disliked but grew to love.


Overall, I do recommend The Promised Neverland but only up to a certain point, after that it deviates so far from what it originally was that i lost interest gradually over time and the ending doesn't make up for it.

Fairy tail is a series where a lot of things happen but ultimately doesn't lead to anything. If you want a deep story with great characters, great moments, dope fights, great lore, amazing writing and great humor, stay away from this series.

If you want to turn you brain off for a bit, and see some cool looking characters do cool things while looking at genuinely amazing artwork, this may be the series for you. If you don't take anime/manga too serious this maybe for you as this series has been known to insult the intelligence of it's fanbase.

It's generic as Shonen gets, but not ... in a good way. Heroes enter a fight, they start off on even ground, then they power up, then the start winning, the the villain powers up, the heroes get close to deaths door, the villain threaten Fairy Tail, Nakama speech, heroes one shot the villain and then run around as if their previous wounds weren't there. This isn't one fight sprinkled throughout a couple arcs, this is every single fight in every single arc in the entire story.

--Minor vague Spoilers for things that were disrespectful to the readers --

They tease the death of two particular character multiple times yet they keep coming back.
They tease a certain change over 4 times throughout the story just to go back to how it always was.
A particular character comes in after a very important moment in their life only to get one shotted and then give another character a random power up that makes no sense due to the actual law of the universe established in the story itself.

I don't want to go on a rant so I'll try to keep this short. I'll start this off by say, if you are hoping to read this series for the kinky factor and mostly just that than I think you'll like this a lot? Maybe? I'm not really into S&M so those segments didn't do much for me outside the first few sessions but obviously if you are into that stuff then by all means enjoy.

If you're a poor hopeless romantic idiot like me who is going into this expecting a well told romance story with a kinky factor and amazing character ... development and whatnot, then do yourself a favor and don't read this. I'm not going to spoil anything but I will say this series is the literal embodiment of nothing happens. The whole story revolves around male MC liking female MC and female MC somewhat liking male MC but mostly liking the S&M sessions and then they have some sort of conflict. They then proceeed to have a session to "clear up the air" and then repeat. Theres a lot of side plots that I personally was invested in or at least curious in and all of them aside from a few got dropped entirely with no resolution or just forgotten and the very few that did have resolutions, felt more like cliffhangers or had no proper resolution. The ending was a huge let down, both in this and the previous manga.

If you want to read something similar that follows the same vibe as this story (a kinky "romance" comedy) but with an actual ending and actual development then I'd recommend reading a series called Sundome.

TLDR: Like all of JoJo, don't go into it expecting this amazing plot with amazing characters. JoJo is
just a bunch of WTF is happening, mixed with over the top violence and BS plot twists that tricks you into thinking its a 10/10 story when in fact it's mostly just @$$pulls but since it's JoJo and it's wonky we accept it because why not.

Part 3 suffers mostly due from having a boring MC and it's length. Also, I personally don't like the villain of the week format that JoJo adapts from this point forward.

Stardust Crusaders S1 is ok I guess. Just like Part 2, Joseph carried this one for me personally. He's still as wonky and quirky as ever, if not even more so than when he was younger, the fact that he can go from idiotic goofball to wise old man from one scene to the next was fun to watch and seeing his interactions with the supporting cast was great. I'll even go as far as to say that Joseph is also the MC of Part 3 since the whole reason Part 3 is happening is because of his orders. He's the one who wants to recruit Jotaro, He's the one who Dio needs in order to become "complete", he's the one who's carrying on the will of Johnathan to end Dio's evil, Jotaro by comparison is kinda just there being the silent edge lord punching the sh*t out of everything, and granted while Jotaro has a reason to go on this quest too, Joseph just feels like he had more going on this than Jotaro, personally.

That being said the supporting cast was cool, from Kakyoiin and Polnareff to Advol and Iggy. Each supporting character has their own moment to become the "lead" at one point or another and it's interesting to see them actually get development in those mini arcs or episodes since for the most part they're just sitting in the background until they need to be saved or save someone.

My biggest issue with Part 3 is the villain of the week format that makes the story feel episodic in nature and as someone who isn't a fan of episodic anime (aside from Gintama), I was not invested in this story at all. You could skip a good chunk of episodes and you really won't miss much of anything in the grand scheme of things, not that i'm saying you should skip episodes, just saying it felt that way. From this point forward JoJo incorporates Stand Battles which while cool, feels a lot more tamed in Part 3 compared to how broken and out there some abilities are in Part 4 and on. Of course with Stand battles, comes a bunch over the top violence and gore that does nothing for me personally but if you're into that then there ya go.

Jotaro also has the disadvantage of being the JoJo to follow after Joseph, who is the most entertaining of all the JoJos. Jotaro's character can be summed up by Ora Ora Ora and that's about it. He doesn't have much development and aside from looking and acting cool, Jotaro doesn't offer much until the very end where he faces of against Dio and we see Jotaro deviate from his usual strategy of PUNCH STUFF and if that doesn't work then he move on to his second strategy of PUNCH STUFF HARDER. He actually manages to pull off some pretty cool feats and it was a nice breath of fresh air. The ending of the Dio fight i actually liked a lot. At first it seems like an a$$pull but once you look at Jotaro as a character, or lack of, it actually makes a lot of sense. He basically did what he did due to his stubbornness and out of sheer will power and I liked that a lot.

TLDR: Like all of JoJo, don't go into it expecting this amazing plot with amazing characters. JoJo is

From a horrible MC to antagonist to supporting cast and a bad ending that comes out of literal nowhere, which is saying a lot considering this is JoJo, Part 5 was the biggest disappointment in JoJo to me personally. Not to mention ... the last 2 episodes that were essentially just filler due to it's placement in the story. Easily my least favorite part which sucks cause i was looking forward to this one.

Part 5 was such a disappointment to me, more so since I waited a year to watch it and throughout that year I constantly heard praise of how amazing it is.

For starters Giorno beats Part 3 Jotaro by a country mile for most boring MC. The guy basically stands on the sideline for the majority of all the fights and then comes through with a 900 IQ strategy, aka plot device a$$pull, and saves the day, which to be fair is every single JoJo since Part 3 but at least Jotaro and Josuke had something going for them. Jotaro while boring was a bada$$ so who cared, and Josuke has an actual character that you're itching to see him get into the ring and fight the villain of the day, where as Giorno has literally nothing going for him aside from his dream which he mentions every chance he gets, we know the meme, and that he's Dio's son which is literally mentioned as a one off comment and never mentioned again.

The main villain was interesting, until he became the main villain (you know what i mean if you've seen Part 5) and he's basically just there because we need a main antagonist to fight against. He's almost reaching Pillermen levels of bad.

The supporting cast in Part 5 is it's biggest strength. Bruno (the true MC of the story as far as i'm concerned was really good! Theres a twist at the end with Bruno that makes no sense what's so ever but Bruno was so good i'll ignore it and I'd go as far as to say that outside of previous JoJo's, Bruno is the best supporting character of all 5 Parts. Mista was also really good and entertaining. Narancia and Abbacchio also are solid, Abbacchio in particular has an amazing backstory.

The ending was probably the biggest a$$pull i've seen in JoJo since Jotaro being able to stop Time but again, Jotaro was a badass so we don't care and given his character, it kinda makes sense but with Giorno, it literally comes out of nowhere. Where Part 4's final battle used Josuke's intelligence and quick thinking (until Ambulance-kun), Part 5's final battle was literally just a game of Tag until Arrow-kun and then the most broken ability in all of JoJo comes into existence with no foreshadowing whatsoever. You know how bad Kaguya was in the 4th war? Yah this is even worse than that.

TLDR: Like all of JoJo, don't go into it expecting this amazing plot with amazing characters. JoJo is

Part 1 is extremely underrated! A classic tale of Good vs Evil but it could be a turn off with how textbook defined Johnathan and Dio are, mixed with the fast pacing and the lackluster supporting cast, it could be hard to ... get through since this is in comparison, the most "normal" JoJo part. AMAZING OPENING!

Part 2 is carried by Joseph who is the complete opposite of Johnathan in every aspect. The guy is the walking definition of a human highlight reel and since he's the most quirky and entertaining JoJo, you'll be entertained by him from the get go. The Pillermen are a disappointment and the supporting cast while better than Part 1's, isn't much of an improvement. ALSO AMAZING OPENING!

Phantom Blood is definitely the most underrated part of JoJo just because it's the first one and people tend to prefer the "bizarreness" of Part 3 and on, but Part 1 is actually really good, I'd argue. It's the classic tale of Good vs Evil. With only 9 episodes though, the story lacks the breathing room and time for you to really care about Johnathan and at face value he may look like the generic hero, which he is but theres a bit more to him but you'll need to go a little bit deeper in on your free time to really get that. Dio Brando, just like Johnathan, comes off as a generic villain just doing evil doing for the sake of it and lets be honests, it's the 80's, that's exactly what this is but that being said the story itself is a nice little tale with a huge twist in the last episode that a lot of people weren't expecting. Part 1 for me personally was carried by Dio and Johnathan, since the supporting cast was extremely weak. From Erina to Speedwagon (which the community stans solely because it's a meme) to Zeppeli. I personally Rank Part 1 as my 3rd favorite JoJo Part.

Halfway through the Season we shift a couple years into the future and now we follow Johnathan's grandson Joesph who was a huge improvement from Johnathan in every single aspect. He's quirky, silly, funny, entertaining, where Jonathan was more serious and "normal" which given his situation i don't really blame the guy. That being said, Joseph single handedly carried Part 2 for me. The main antagonists were a huge let down and the supporting cast, just like Part 1 was lackluster. Caesar and LisaLisa were only other characters I cared about but theyre not in the story much for me to care.
