After much internal debate , i finally decided to write a review for the abomination that is this anime. Yep ! you read it right fam - ABOMINATION . Not a word you'd associate with a genre designed to solely satisfy your not so dormant carnal desires , without having to resort to hentai or you know actually getting some.. but lets be honest - you arent getting any thats why you watch harem anime (UNLESS you are getting it , then well done bro!.. or girl.. Gender Equality for the win right?)
Anyway the anime..
~Synopsis~
Our MC Akiharu joins a school that trains you to put
...
a straight smiling face whilst being oppressed by your now peers and soon to be "masters" .Basically they train butlers and maids....and also arrogant teenage girls from rich families how to oppress their classmates who are in the " servant class" . Also the majority of students are female obviously.
~Story~
It would have been interesting if they just showed servant class students being trained in the brutal anime-esque fashion. The only training the mistresses get is knowing what tea and cake to order .. how original!
The story telling is so bad that they spend half the season of 12 episodes introducing pointless characters , who are all basically the overused troupes we are all tired of -
1) the loli ,
2) the overtly cluless girl,
3) the clumsy AF times ten girl with unsurprisingly large bossoms who offer a sneak peek at her panties every time she "falls"
4) the mute exotic princess who stereotypically is indian-ish and her ninja bodyguard who'll go to any lengths to satisfy her
5) an otaku chick
6) the pervert friend who gets nothing
7) the boy who keeps questioning his gender.
and so on
The story never picks up any sort of movement till the last 3 episodes. I had to force myself to finish the series hoping to get some sort of plot. But who was i kidding - its an echhi anime..very rarely do they put more effort into the story than into deciding how large the next girl's boobs should be. And i wasnt wrong.. all this anime offers is eyecandy .. i.e nude girls ( No Steam-san or 'god rays from out of nowhere'-kun to spoil your mood) If hentai minus the action gets your blood boiling then this anime is for you.
The only saving grace storywise was the entertaining female protaginists who easily overshadow the most clueless male protagonist since Goku. The Tsundere vs Yandere battle was by far the most entertaining thing on a show where they just cut-away to a bath with lots of nude girls when the story gets boring...or when these 2 need to ponder about their feelings for the idiot Akiharu.
But what grinds the gears of most people including myself who watched the whole ordeal is the ending.. I'm not gonna spoil it for anyone who actually wants to go waste 6 hrs on this anime. But its so bad that i think the internet got the word 'Cop-out" from this anime. Its so bad that even one of the characters in the anime admitted it . Not joking , its true .
But to be honest i think the creators did this thinking that they would be able to get a second season out of this. How deluded were they ?
~Artstyle~
I have to give this an 8 . Nothing new . But a pretty solid design for most characters , mainly Selnia (the tsundere) . The artsyle is perhaps the only reason i managed to finish this horrendous piece of crap.
~Sound~
Average.
~FINAL VERDICT~
If you still want me to spell out for ya - go elswhere! There are plenty of better echhi harems with uncensored content who atleast make an effort to make a decent attempt.

~STORY~ 8/10
Kokoro Connect or Hearts Connect in the literal translation is the story about 5 middle schoolers who are part of the Students Cultural society. They basically meet up every evening and try to come up with stuff to publish in their monthly issue. One day , two of the kids (yui and Aoki) discover that they switched bodies . The other members follow suit soon enough . The 5 are confronted by a magical entity(called HeartSeed) who tells them that they are part of his experiment to study human behaviour . And reluctantly they are forced to face various challenges that this being of
...
unexplained power throws at them, not knowing when it will end..or if it will at all!
~MAIN CHARACTERS~
1) Taichi - A very selfless guy , who just cant take it when he sees others suffering and always wants to help. Wrestling fanboy.
2) Himeko Inaba - The strong silent type who really comes forward as the leader of the whole pack .
3) Iyori - A happy go lucky person, who can make just about anyone smile
4) Yui - She's the brawns of this gang . A black belt and skilled fighter with a soft core.
5) Aoki - The Ron Weasley of the group .
~SLICE OF LIFE TAG~ 9.5/10
The anime was really popular. But that success wasnt down to the cutesy stuff or the dark undertones or even the sexually driven scenes. It was more to do with its Slice of Life tag .
On the surface , the story is mainly driven by the various trials the MCs face. The way they deal with each is unique and entertaining to watch . But the real reason i give so much plaudits to the writers is the excellent story writing. Before you read further, just look above at the description i've given for each of the 5. Their challenges all involve facing off against who they are . Each and every one of these challenges brings the MCs to their knees and face bitter truths about their life.
Ofcourse these can all be easily missed by most people and be mistaken as just some dark undertones. But look carefully at each of these episodes and you'll see an amazing message hidden in them . The story you may forget over years , but that simple message may probably stay with you for life . Which of the 5 characters you associate with is something you'll have to find out for your own. Once you do , its upto you to discover how that particular message is relevant to you. That is why i personally believe that this anime succeeded so much - because it embraced the slice of life tag better than any other anime I've yet watched (i.e anime that really had any sort of relevance in the real world) .
That being said , its pretty obvious how well the characters were developed (10/10 for that).
~SOUND~ 9/10
One can tell an amazing story via anime . But the anime will not become great if it does not have BGM to back it up .. to hit you right in the feels when it matters ( A fact excellently elicited by FMA and FMA Brotherhood -Slightly varied stories yet much different ratings on MAF) .
Together with a great opening and ending songs, Kokoro Connect has an amazing BGM to make every emotion transmitted to the viewer.
~ARTSTYLE~ 9/10
One word - BEAUTIFUL
~FINAL VERDICT~ 9/10
While the anime invokes the mind to rethink our lives, it does have some flaws. Well i cant really call them flaws, but things that left me disappointed. For one thing , i can hear the unanimous voice of the fandom for a second season, one which we never got. The manga does have a few volumes after the events of this anime, but it never got a second season. Secondly , a lot of things about HeartSeed were told very vaguely . Going by the trend set by other anime such as Noragami , this could have been a plot device to milk out a second season, or even a reboot with entirely new set of characters. But to this day we have not gotten a second season.
If you are looking for just a fun time , probably you will be better served elsewhere. But if you do have the patience to actually listen to the message that is being provided via this story , then you wont be disappointed

When i started watching , i got a feeling that this would be really similar to bleach . But although the two share some similarity, the main elements of the two are completely different. And this makes for a really enjoyable experience.
But unlike bleach , Noragami has a little more darker tone to it. But at the same time , it maintains a comedic atmosphere for the most part , thanks to some very likeable MC's
~MAIN CHARACTERS~
1. Yato - A minor deity who does odd jobs for anyone for a meagre payment of 5 yen , all in the hopes of building his own
...
shrine .
2. Hiyori - A school girl, who becomes a half-phantom ( half dead) follwing a traffic accident involving Yato. She is able to see Yato, amongst other dieties and phantoms.
3. Yukinae - Yato's regalia ( Divine Instrument ) , he is just a stubborn small boy and hence acts as such towards his equally childish master
~SYNOPSIS~
The story basically follows Yato trying to fix Hiyori. Hiyori's soul occasionally slips out of her body as a result of which her physical body enters into a sleeping state, while her conscious state steps out of her body. The story takes atleast 3 episodes before it becomes truly interesting. But after that it is one roller coaster ride.
~CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT~
But as far as character development is concerned , i was pretty disappointed . We only get a vague insight into Yato's past , whilst Yukinae gets a few short seconds regarding his past. But they did do a good job of DEVELOPING his character post his entry into the story . Hiyori atleast does serve a more important role than just being there for driving the plot, she really helps to forge the bond between Yato and Yukinae. As for the rest of the characters , they dont get too much development as you'd want. But with the corporate pressure to pump out a story un just 12 episodes , i'd say the anime makers did a good job.
~SHOUNEN TAG~
As a shounen anime , it left me wanting more. The main focus isnt killing phantoms , but it felt more like a side quest and just a plot device to make the ending a but more interesting. Barring the last few epsiodes , the fights felt really repetitive ..as if they were placeholders.. to keep us watching till eventually the final fight produces something different (Kind of like all those monster who get destroyed in every Power Rangers ever ) . And Yato's finishing move becomes kind of overused and boring.
~SOUND~
Although the opening and ending songs were excellent , thats where the good ends . The BGM was really unspectacular and forgettable. Which was kind of a let down
~ARTSTYLE~
This all boils down to one's subjective preferences. I personally loved the art style they use for the characters. Although, i did wish they'd have been a little more imaginative with the monsters.
~FINAL VERDICT ~
I went into this anime having high hopes. But what i got was completely different to what i'd expected. I had expected a more dark story with plenty of action. But i got a little more light hearted experience , which wasnt bad at all , but i just felt they should have given the fights little more importance.
The way the story ended , it kind of suggested that they wanted to make a second season , but they were unsure if the anime would be well received. But it went to do very well and as expected it has a second season.
I gave it a 7 /10 purely because of lacklustre action and character development that left me unsatisfied with season 1.

This anime really takes the term FoodPorn to another level. Being an anime about cooking , you'd think there isnt much to go on as far as echhi is considered . But you couldn't be more wrong. With a vast array of busty ladies , the anime makes sure that with each bite of an amazing dish , these ladies' clothes get ripped apart and they begin to have an orgasm more stronger than one that even J.Sins would be able to give . And the anime isnt at all sexist. Its all about gender equality with plenty of guys geting stripped as
...
well. So the writers made sure to give the yaoi fans some love too .
Now as far as the shounen tag goes , its pretty standard stuff what we get . The title itself is Food wars . So this anime has battles in the form of food wars... these are basically cook offs . The only difference is the huge crowd cheering on..who just so happen to catch even the faintest whiff of aroma from the food. But unlike other types of shounen where you tend to get really bored after a few punches are thrown or cards flicked, this anime is anything but that.
The biggest advantage of this anime is that it is a show about cooking . Hence obviously each dish will feature a different cuisine , a diiferent technique , different ingredients.. all making each episode ..NO! each challenge very interesting.. plus it teaches you about different foods across the world.. and it also makes you kinda hungry.
The anime has a good soundtrack and some awesome opening and ending songs . The enjoyment level is atleast a 9/10. But if you are a vegetarian, I'm afraid that you'll find this show rather biased to the more meaty side of the food world.
The anime features a wide variety of interesting cast.. some troupes which we have seen in a lot of anime and are familiar with .... others.. not so much . So do give this anime a try as it will be really impossible for me to give a rough layout of the main characters coz honestly there are a lot . But the show doesnt let you have the same " What's that guy's name again ?" experience from Game of Thrones . They make sure to give a placard infront of each character giving a small desciption each time they are shown in different episodes. So you'll gradually learn their names ( not that it really matters ).
In my review i usually give a small summary of the plot going into episode 1 , but i think the animelist review is more than good enough .
And lastly , i'd just like to say that if you are looking just for an echhi anime with plenty of fanservice , id advise you to look elsewhere. The reason being that although it has the echhi tag , the real reason for its success is underlined by its shounen tag .. and it is the only reason that kept me wanting to binge on this anime. ENJOY!

2.5 years after i first watched this anime i finally decided to review it , not because it was forgettable....but much rather the opposite . I have rewatched this atleast 3 times and still do occasionally. It stands no.2 in my all time favourite anime . So i really hope this review does it justice
The title literally means "I dont have many friends".
The MC is Kodaka who has a Japanese dad and an American mother. His mom passed away when he was young. His family moves abroad when he is 10 or 11.
The story starts a few years later when a 16yr
...
old Kodaka returns to Japan with his sister , while his dad still works abroad. He joins a school owned by his dad's best friend Mr.Kashiwasaki . But Kodaka is a socially inept guy who despite the best of intentions always ends up scaring anyone who he tries to befriend . Plus, his blonde hair (inherited from his mother) made him stand out and treated as a delinquent.
He soon meets with a girl , Yozora who also lacks any friends. And together they form " The Neighbour's Club " and attempt to find other people who are like them. They do a lot of activities like video games to karaoke all in an effort to train the members to be able to make friends in real life.
The cast of characters are all so diverse and very interesting.
1. Sena - the stereotypical perfect student and daughter to the academy owner , whose main role is FANSERVICE.
2. Yozora - the yandere to Sena's tsundere. She clearly has feelings for Kodaka but , ofcourse , shuts up about it ( why? PLOT ! thats why!)
3. Rika - a middle schooler who is a tech genius and a big time perv. But is one of the most real characters in this show
4. Kobato - Kodaka's younger sister who believes that she is a vampire ( you know just like you and i fantasized about being Super Saiyans )
One of the more notable and commendable features of Haganai is its music . They have a great BGM , op and end songs. They are very enjoyable and memorable . My favourite was the one in the 6th epsode , whose ENGLISH TRANSLATED version always leaves a tear running despite being under 40seconds
I watched the dub and sub and I highly recommend that you watch this in the dub. The voice acting is flawless. And i never felt as though the dub felt out of place as is the case with most dubs ( The reason why most people prefer subs ). I enjoyed the dub way more than the usual standard we get from the sub.
Despite being primarily an echhi harem series, the anime in its crux carries key Slice of Life components , which is the true reason why so many people love this anime. I cant put it into words , but it is much better for you to watch it and experience it . I still cry when i read the english translation of the songs as they play at the end of an episode... which carry a wonderful message.
And thats why i beleive the reason for Haganai's success is more down to its slice of life component rather than the echhi.

Although the title of the anime is very ambiguous , as though the creator ran out of ideas , i can very well assure you that is not the case . Behind such a simple name , the author has managed to incorporate the essence of the story in a nutshell. The experiences of the characters throughout their life is just like an orange - sweet (good experiences ) and sour ( bad experiences ) . Either that or the author just wanted to name it after an orange juice box which Kakeru gives our MC , Naho.
Well since i mentioned two characters
...
, might as well give a brief description of each as it is very refreshing to say that these arent your typical overused troupes .
1. Naho - The MC, is however a typically common character troupe - the shy
easily bullied , girl with high morals but low self esteem
2. Kakeru - A quiet guy with a secret backstory that runs the plot forward\
3. Suwa - The athletic guy who has a thing for Naho .
4.Azusa - an overly happy yet very likeable happy go lucky girl
5. Chino - the strict silent enforcer of the group
6. Hagita - the nerd of the group
The story is very interesting and captures your attention from the start and continues to keep you enthralled . Basically Naho receives a very detailed and long letter from her future self ( 10 years in the future ) . It tells her of the arrival of a transfer student , Kakeru and how she wants her high school self to prevent his inevitable death. \
Whatever decisions she makes , there will be consequences that she must face . (Kind of like the LIFE IS STRANGE games) Naho is faced with the immense task of preventing the inevitable while at the same time doing this all alone , as she fears her friends will just laugh at her.
The plot thickens over 13 episodes and becomes very thrilling with each episode . The character development is just amazing . I rarely say this about an anime . Considering that they had just 13 episodes they did an amazing job.
The animation was amazing. The character designs were very good and more realistic than what you usually find in anime. I dont remember the sound tracks as it has been over an year since i watched it . I really wanted to write a review much earlier but i was afraid i might not do it justice ..still dont but i just need to do this one.
Although the story is great, it is ofcourse not without flaws. You can see some cliches occuring here and there , but its not that much. But i just hated the fact that the creator just seemed to shy away from giving more details about how the letters were sent to the past. It is explained in just a small part of the anime. But considering that this letter is what started and is moving the plot , i really wished they'd have talked more about it.
(At the time of writing this , i had not watched the movie and hence donot know if they talk about this there )
But why this anime recieves a 9/10 is because for me it really lived up to its Slice of Life tag. I strongly urge you to watch it

To be honest, the only reason i watched this anime was because of the Role playing game of the same name . While the RPG didnt give away any of the plot, i found 3 characters very interesting. So i decided to check it out.
Remember how i said the rpg didnt give the story away much? Well thats because it basically doesnt have any. I'm assuming that you pretty much read the synopsis atleast before this. So you know that the MC wants to get into the Tokyo University . The whole story centres around him wanting to make it to Tokyo U because of
...
a promise he makes to some girl he played with as a child( And ofcourse he doesnt remember here face or name even ...Why?? PLOT!! Thats why).
The author throughout the first season and other ovas goes out of his way to exploit this promise and the girl to whom it was made in every way possible. He uses the fact that all possible candidates for this role dont remember what happened when they were young.. but atleast he quickly makes it clear that only 2 girls have a realistic possibility of being her . But he goes a step further in the end by making Naaru say that she " may not be the girl to whom Keitaro made the promise " , leaving the plot open for Keitaro's sister to jump in during the last OVA
The characters were nothing special really. All the usual tropes were used -
1. the tsundere( Naru) ,
2. the shy girl who loves the MC but is too shy to say it ( Shinobu) ,
3. the annoying drunk girl with big boobs for fan service ( Kitsune) ,
4. the totally unnecessary junior high girl who basically is the most annoying of the lot because she is a child and proceeds to annoy you throughout ( Kaolla Su)
5. the smokling silent one ( Haruka)
6. the rich , pervy rival to the MC ( Kentaro)
7. the irrelevant beautiful idiot girl who turns out to be relevant to the story (Mutsubi)
8. the younger sister who has an inappropriate crush for her onii-chan ( Kanako)
and ofcourse 9. the loser MC who somehow always stands up for the girls in moments of need and wins them back ( Keitaro).
But it did feature some characters good characters like Motoko (a swordwoman) , Seta ( an archeologist who just cant be killed by any amount of Road Traffic Accidents) and his Daughter Sarah.
As far as character development goes, its pretty much limited to Keitaro and Naru ..although they hardly get that much development at all
One of the more eye catching parts of the anime was its viokence . The MC blasts off more times than Team Rocket ever did. Its definitely not everyones cup of tea thats for sure.
Another thing was the presence of a flying turtle and a talking cat. Id really have loved it if they had explained the whole lot of mecha turtles multiplying from the scraps in the backyard of the Hinata resort
The author even made a cameo appearance on a couple of occasions , so that was kind of fun.
The only thing that was more annoying to me than Kaolla and Kitsune was Naru's inability to just confess how she truly feels for Keitaro. Neither does she say she loves him nor does she want other girls to get near him (*at which point she punches him out of the room) It really gets really frustrating for the watcher .
Overall id rate it at a 6 . Same as Girls Bravo.. just a fine one time watch .

The title is what really made me check out this one. I mean Dagashi Kashi? OR is it Dagashikashi? (Heh , they even made a pun abt it at the end of the first episode). Anyways, it turns out it is an anime based on Japanese Sweets called Dagashi .. And i guess Kashi means SHoP!( So Sweet SHop).
Yeah a really japanesey anime. Better watch dub to understand it better(unless ofcourse you are knowledgible on that account.
Story ? It doesnt have one .They basically set it up so that they can talk about candy So if you came looking for story ,i suggest you
...
search other anime.
But if you arent a person who knows much about Japan but want to..THEN GO FOR IT!!! Each episode talks about two or more candy (more or less).
You'd think that's boring..But no it is HILARIOUS and INFORMATIVE .How ? That is where we meet the characters . For a show based on real life candy You can expect to have minimal characters. This one had only 5 main characters . I wont go into specifics but you wi\l know a little bit going into the anime.
Kokonotsu - The frail looking hero who spires to be a mangaka. But is forced to look after and one day take over the family Dagashi shop (ShikadaDAGASHI) by his Father. YO
Yo- Yo is YO MAN! what else i gott tell y? go wacth this mn in action.. Though he isnt in every episod he plays his part brilliantly.
To - Yeah i put him here for the rhyme! . He is the best friend of Kokonotsu . He is the Stereotypical hippy dude . Again he gets very little screen time but does make it count in one epic episode! (#NoSpoilerS). He and his sister run a local cafe where the three usually hang.
Saya - The sister of To , She was kokonotsu's childhood friend and like many others before her... a generic troupe that has always been a favourite for all anime - A Tsundere ( if your a newbie and dont know the Dere usage go check out The Anime Man on youtube)
She has had a crush on our hero ever since they were kids and the overused troupe pairing that we have all grown accustomed to are brought to life by these two (seriously they re a modern version of ash and misty).
But i guess the reason why he hasnt noticed her is brought out in several instances by our next character and by far the LIFE OF THE PARTY
- Hotoru Shidare - A busty teenage girl who happens to be the daughter of a big dagashi company.
She is the driving force behind the anime .I WONT SAY HOW , but lets just say she loves candy.
She is the MOST UNIQUE OUT OF THE BUNCH. and certainly my favorite .
I m a relative newbie to anime but i have seen atleast a bunch such genre anime and never has there been a more amazing character that you wanna watch more of.
She is hilarious , sexy and completely RANDOM. to the point you think whether she is a crazy chick! But that uniquenes is what makes this anime worth watching
so many Sexual inuendos , awkward situations and yes oh the fan servicing (Probably not worth the echhi title but some very unique scenes)totally meant for FAPing (#For_Academic _Purposes!)
Art style was satisfactory( i have seen a lot more better animation) Sounds..well not very relevant as they mainly don't play a role. It is a quite anime set in a remote villagey location .
As from my side i highly encourage you to watch the DUB version as it will really bring Hotaru to life ( Great voice acting done in a way that will make a japanesey title more english speaking frienlY)
I really enjoyed it it is one of the few anime that i rewatch every now and then, you wint ever get bored!.-
If genre is what you are still wondering - Echhi , Comedy , General Knowledge(nd a hint of romance!

A harem anime who's lead male character is allergic to women? Well thats original! But did they have to make him a loli character( Ok he is puny but i think he is too much of a loli). That and his allergy would hardly make him first pick for a lead character.
The PLOT starts with Miharu a girl from the planet of seiren (Hmmm..maybe they were hinting at seinen)accidentally being teleported to yukinari's bathtub while she was taking a bath her own home. yukinari and his friend Kirie find her and the rest is the actual main story.
A planet where 90% of the population are
...
female?Boy I'd sure love to visit that place..
Actually the it would have made the series a whole lot more sexier and Echhi fan servicing would have gone through the roof if they had decided to do the story the other way around where it is yukinari who got transported to seiren.
As for CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT , I would give it 6 for a decent set of characters.
But some were just pointless and annoying( Tomo I'm Talkin to YOU).
STORY PROGRESSION ..Pretty good at first but then it just dragged into a whole bunch of pointless episodes that neither moved the story forward nor gave the fans anything to cheer about...
ANimation and artwork were good and decent considering this is a pretty old anime (2000s).
Comedy was the only thing going for this anime If this series didnt have fukuyama it would plain hav sucked. The pervert is the only one who makes this anime even watchable. Well there isnt much love scenes or rather intimate scenes either owing to the aforemnentioned allergies of the lead.
What i Liked about this anime was that the Yukinaris voice actor was YURI LOWENTHAL.
Who doesnt want to hear Sasuke / Prince of Persia in a loli voice?
Would i like to watch it again Not really coz it doesnt have much rewatch potential..
But still a fun anime to watch for a good time!
