What mangaka Ookubo Atsushi is really good at is making unique setting and in this case you got Halloween vibe to mesmerize you. The way he being creative not only the setting but also character design that really blend with the Halloween vibe. But what stood out the most about the manga are the power system. I like the idea of a person turn into a weapon and you need the partner to be compatible usually base on their personality. The art style also drawn you in when character goes crazy and the expression really make it easy to understand what their feeling are.

is the only positive, now let go to the negative starting with the plot. It not that it generic thus it bad but it really messy to a point it more of after thought rather make it flow naturally example we being told that if the kishin resurrect it will bring madness and people will go crazy but it didn't happen until the final arc that you start question why the kishin is the bad guy? where the effect of the madness that we being told about?. Don't know .This tied to the main villain kishin asura, He not a character but just a plot device. You literally change him into a Bom and will not change the plot. The other villain also a let down especially medusa who a master mind in the plot but turn out just a one dimension villain that want to destroy the world just because....she want to. Character that were kill also didn't evoke emotion like there this guy who have a power to find the villain that hide in the city but he got kill and that it. We never see other character get a revenge for him and soon got forget by the plot. The plot armor also get annoying as the story progress example when the MC fight this dude (KIRIKO) that manage to beat MC and about to kill them but then all sudden his hatred or something got so huge that his soul could not contain it and kill the dude....WTF just happen???. There also the late introduction of character at the last arc that I just don't give a shit and while the ending much better than the anime but it still bad because it didn't solve the conflict but return to status like in the beginning, what I mean is how the MC defeat the villain, well by seal him back of course. Genius!!. Heck even if you ok with it, in the last chapter the writer make stupid joke that ruin the tragic tone that it create like for example when kid find out that the shinigami dead he start crying but then there this character that interrupt him and make the scene have a tonal whiplash which is bad. Also what with the boob joke at the end chapter, it like the writer think it will be funny but instead ruin the ending of the series.
In conclusion, Ookubo good at making unique setting and power system but fell short on the other department. If you ask me which is better the anime or manga, I suggest follow what you like the most because there both will get bad. My advice is to watch the first half of the anime and don't bother anything else.

What a major disappointment of adaptation from the manga. I honestly thought that the series will get a good animation considering the hype surrounding the manga. Yes, I already read the manga and it an okay series if you turn your brain off and enjoy the gore and the art. some of the flaw in the manga I thought the studio will correct it but guess not. let rate the series shall we.
PLOT (4)
The stories structure doesn't make sense. What I mean by that is the shogun want to gain immortality because there a rumor of an unknown charted island there is elixir of immortality

that being told by people who turn into plant. The shogun send expedition to the island but fail and in second try one person alive but gradually turn into plant. So for the third expedition he send a criminal? and if they bought back the elixir the shogun will erase all their crime and be free. This not make sense because Why would the criminal give the elixir and not just drink it to gain immortality?. Oh there an executioner follow them you say, then why not just send them. There no reason to use the criminal when you have someone who are more loyal AKA the executioner.
CHARACTER (5)
The main character is a ninja that want to died at first but then suddenly remember he had a wife. The show really want you to think the character is deep but in reality they just one dimension personality that it would be better if the writer put more on thought on the plot instead. The best character is yuzuriha the ninja girl with a technique that will make me hard and also sagiri the main heroin for being a waifu material. Yes they the one who save this god damn show. I also like how the writer portray the villain and called the the island hell paradise, it really similar to our reality.
ANIMATION (3)
It not a berserk 2016 level of bad but it should have been better considering it create from studio mappa that create quality animation like jjk and chainsaw man. I guess they don't see the hype of the manga and give subpar animation. The only good thing is VA that really do a good job and the music are okay.
In conclusion, it got some nice idea but terrible execution, it not as great as people hype it up but I can see the appeal. Just turn your brain off, you will enjoy it if you think of it as gore shlock.

This show start out okay by being mystery but at the same time try to be weird like the main MC kiruko who has questionable identity crisis or the world that the setting is dystopia but the reason behind it doesn't make sense. Maru the other MC who knew kiruko identity but still go hard on her. The plot divide into 2 that is flash back (the facility where scientist want to create immortality by experiment on children with special power) and the current timeline where we got maru and kiruko go on adventure to find someone can be confusing at first but afterwhile you

can get use to it. The biggest flaw however is the lack of tension when they fight monster because maru have the "one touch one kill" move and kiruko has a laser gun. Instead of using tactic and normal weapon like gun and knife, the writer being lazy and create pseudo tension fight scene that will become obvious as the episode continue. Even though there are monster that eat human but there so few that you begin to wonder how society collapse. It not like there were much a threat to the MC and honestly the human are much more threat but I guess that where the show want to tell.
The good part about this show is the animation that the quality didn't drop from the beginning until the end of season 1. The character is also good not really complex but doesn't have to. The pacing however can be slow because some episode are subplot but I have to admit it did flesh out the world building. Although the ending is weird but can't say that it not interesting.
in conclusion, it not as good as last of us the game( part 1 not 2) but it did have interesting idea. It can be a turn off to some people because of weird some of the scene. Just beware that you need to go in the right perspective to enjoy this show.

(MINOR SPILER ALERT)
AW SHIT HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!! what I fear in season 1 happen in season 2. HAAA....... let start with the plot of the first arc name the inventory arc or the gojo flash back. not go smoothly when there a cult that want to kill star plasma vessel hire a assasin name toji zenin( megumi father) that manage to not only wound gojo and geto but kill amanai. This however awaken gojo ability's and got the meme "I alone am honor one" that eventually avenge amanai death and kill toji. That it for the plot but what the problem you might ask?. Well for starter why amanai raise outside the jjk school? It make no sense when clearly there other organization want to kill her and it pretty weird that they only attack when tengen want to merge. What I mean is why nobody kill her when she still a baby. There also toji who had one chance to kill gojo permanently but fail because he stab gojo in the body. Why not just go for the head(thanos meme) when we being told that sorcerer can't use reverse curse technique aka heal if the brain got damage. Oh that because he retire from assassination so he rusty you say.....that just silly when you can train first and this is someone that toji acknowledge danger aka gojo fricking satoru. Geto also did leave a wounded and tired gojo to fight toji alone like mother f##k why not work together to kill toji, I guess that to smart for the character or why not call yaga or shoko or nanami as well. There also the lack of back story in toji like why he into assassin job again. If it about money why not just be sport athlete or body guard for rich people because you know he fricking strong. Don't ask question just consume it you say OK FINE!!.
Now we go to the meat name shibuya arc aka the best arc according to the fan but in reality the fall of jjk if you ask me. Don't believe then let me explain. The arc start with the villain create barrier prevent human in shibuya to escape so they can be hostage. Naturally it a trap for gojo to go alone inside the barrier. What the hero plan you might ask? well nothing really just follow the villain instruction when clearly they cook up something. Llike nobody have any suspicion when the villain ask gojo come in alone, yaga the principle does nothing or nanami and mei mei who are veteran don't think it weird when they boldly attack knowing gojo strength. It like they become oblivious because writer say so. Naturally gojo got seal in a box, wow I so surprise that the villain plan work. Well if your character being dumb then everything can work. What everyone do when gojo fight ......nothing they just stay outside the barrier and only move to get rid the barrier when gojo got trap, very professional guy. How do they know gojo got seal, by deus ex machine name machamaru who suppose to be death but apparently split his soul?? inside a object that appear out of nowhere. Why he appear now you might ask? well if he had appear before gojo got seal and tell them about the villain then there won't be shibuya arc. Don't ask question just consume it OK.
Then the heroes finally move their butt and fail miserly start with our mc yuji, WHY IS HE IN THE FRONTLINE!!! Literally in season 1 the villain attack the school because they want to resurrect sukuna but the character being so oblivious and dumb they sent the fricking timebomb mc to the enemy that manage to awaken sukuna that kill a lot of people. This so stupid that this is beyond plothole anymore. Megumi only achievement is defeat random villain with yuji but otherwise get save by plot armor same with nobara who does nothing at all and die at the end. The villain mostly get kill by themselves like toji kill the granny and chuthulu, sukuna kill the twin and valcano head guy or mahito get eaten by brainiac kenjaku. I don't even know why they resurrect choso.........oh I forgot yuji plot armor. The other character also does nothing, mei mei and his younger brother ran away, kusukabe is coward and hide away, ino and maki got injured,nanami dead, old man zenin dead for no reason(why the head of zenin clan were there anyway?). Then the kyoto student suck ass exclude todo. In last two episode yuki came out of nowhere and for some reason know about kenjaku plan(could need yer help in the beginning of this arc you know). Why she late you say?. Don't ask question just consume and get excited for the next.
In conclusion, jjk fall is no surprise since the beginning it create plothole after plothole. The writer like I said in season 1 review only care to subvert fan expectation but really it bad writing 101.The flaw in the writing will become obvious as it continue that why people drop the manga after certain character dead but not because it turn bad suddenly but already bad at the beginning.

The movie made a ball move on using difference MC name yuta okkotsu, who is second year jjk highschooler in the main storyline. The movie kick off with yuta lost his lover when he little boy but the lover turn into curse monster (Rika). It got yuta a lot of problem but because of this he able to enter jjk school and gojo as the supervisor. The story mainly about yuta interact with maki, the salmon guy and panda. But oh no yuta is sronger than geto even though he train only a month but can go to toe with special grade like geto, so he lost and the movie end with rika ascend to heaven after yuta realize that his power that bind rika and turn her in curse monster. That the plot of the movie. The movie is flaw like the villain plan make no sense, yuta power to op that make power scaling broken and gojo for some reason believe geto will not kill the student. You will probably enjoy if you turn your brain off but otherwise avoid it.

(MINOR SPOILER ELERT)
Jujutsu kaisen is the most popular anime in current time for a good reason. It has good choreograph battle and the animation consistent throughout the first season. But like other show it has flaw and this could make it downfall. In the first episode we see our MC (itadori yuji) eat the the finger, WHY??? don't know. There no foreshadow or build up for yuji eat the finger even though the whole situation can make him accidently eat it but for some reason the creator did not do that. It become whatever character do because the writer said so.

get resurrected but nobody ask him how did he survive except gojo but he like "okay" and move on, like What is happening?. Yeah I know the mc forgot about about the deal he make with sukuna (Although it really stupid yuji accept sukuna deal when he get his ass get kick but whatever the plot need to move because the writer said so.) but come on!! did he really think some else resurrected him? why he never question himself how he survive when his heart got pull out? even megumi never ask him when he watch his friend dead right in front of him. it make character look dumb and if this didn't fix can become plothole.
In episode eleven a side character get kill(junpei) and it really stupid like why he think that the bullied kill his mom. I absolutely have no sympathy to him and the writer do it to subvert expectation but really it just shock factor and nothing else. In the last arc of first season the mc for some reason going on a mission without gojo even though sukuna plan something and also the villain want to resurrected sukana because previous arc it literally about villain stole the finger at the school but fuck it let our timebomb mc go on a mission without gojo. There also the convoluted power system like what the fuck is blackflash. Despite all the explanation it really is just a lucky punch for writer to make the mc win the fight that what happened when you use gambling as power system. There also the incomplete domain that for some reason only megumi can do it. If that is a thing why other character not doing the incomplete domain character like nanami who a first grade sorcerer, mei mei and nobara. Don't tell me they can't do it because the writer said so.
In conclusion, I would recommend if you want cool battle with good animation but otherwise avoid it. jjk only hype because it subvert audience expectation but in reality in on create more plothole.
