I think this show is one of the closest to perfect
In my opinion the story telling was definitely the best part of the show, often times a show can have an amazing plot characters etc etc but they always fail to express or explain them without completely forgetting about one, this show however does it perfectly. You see the world building expands with each episode explaining the history while the characters grow so naturally and just feel so real. It does it so perfectly, there are no plot holes at all.

the first season of the show was amazing simply for the fact that like many other similar comedies, it parodied somewhat of a certain genre (in this case isekai). it wasn't some masterpiece but it was funny, this season however ditched that, not that it completely threw it away but the fact that it tried to have a serious plot and characters while the main character goes around and does cringy things while being overpowered just because. again it's not a bad thing but this show just does a bad job at balancing comedy and a serious plot as opposed to a similar show like

i have mixed feelings on this movie. at the start the movie was really amazing, you see a young girl who picked up a dying child out of her humanity and compassion. you see their relationship grow and other people helping her, a really wholesome journey. the movie doesn't really have any issues until the end, we see leilia cry and suffer over the fact that she can't see her child she straight up goes batshit insane throwing tantrums, but when maquia rides on the dragon she literally abandons her child which not so long ago she was crying over her, and maquia also effectively

i feel like this show is the epitome of wasted potential, on one hand it's world building is incredible, on another it's never fully fleshed out. on one hand the progression between the heroine and the main character is incredibly natural (albeit seemed forced as ctholly's love for him seemed spontaneous) but never fleshed out due to the show juggling between the world building and relationship. however putting the contradicting story telling aside the show is quite enjoyable, it's akin to a slice of life with REALLY great soundtrack, but i just can't get the feeling that this show could have been something so great

garbage, the relationship between suzume and souta is forced and underdeveloped, their conversations were brief and boring, it was always one sided because souta was literally a chair. their relationship wasn't heading towards a romantic one until the very end because the plot needed it to. the plot was interesting but the story telling isn't, nothing is really explained/dived into properly and daijin, who is FULLY CAPABLE of talking didn't tell them that souta has become the seal. side characters are also pretty underdeveloped, they're all there for contrivance, serizawa is unnecessary and tamaki was underutilized it also felt like they forgot about sadaijin until

This show is amazing.
Spoiler Unless you live under a rock it is been spread around how this anime is the "grand father" of isekai. But let's not get into detail of this became that's not the point. Generic plot but amazing execution, better than 99% of isekais out there, and it properly explains things instead of leaving it hanging or just never get to it at all like how he's "overpowered" in some way, he doesn't need to suddenly fight some demon Lord and no harem suddenly falls into his lap. It is shown that the main character just wants to live a life he won't regret. Now ... |
