This season of MHA is one of the best. With very little filler and very intentional thrilling sequences, this anime is the epitome of shonen. The character development of all characters really gets put to the test in this season, and all of the positives and negatives that occur feel really heavy and important. Usually, it's easy to like other characters besides the main character in any anime, and that's especially true of MHA, but in this season, Deku really shines. That's not to say the cohesiveness of Class 1-A isn't also put on display! This season really has everything covered!

Solo Leveling is a fun anime for nerdy dweebs like me who like to focus on game mechanics. This anime follows a protagonist and his journey to get better and stronger while being the lowest ranked hunter in existence. The aspects of this show that really ring true to someone like me are the elements that most resemble video game mechanics, specifically RPG or roguelike type games. Watching mechanics become "unlocked" becomes a captivating experience.

Frieren is easily one of the most beautiful pieces of art I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. The very first thing you will notice and fall in love with is the artwork. It might not very obvious, but just wait until you see a closeup of Frieren's eyes. Often, these shots are cooler than some of the fight scenes. One of the better seasons of MHA. In my opinion, nothing will ever compare to that first season, but this season comes somewhat close. If you're a shonen fan like me, this season rules. There's so much more action than we're used to, and the major story gets pushed forward a little bit. I'm not going to lie, it feels like the writers are kind of "making it up as they go", as opposed to having a solid plan for the larger series, but that opinion is coming from someone who doesn't read the manga and doesn't know where any of this is going.

Erased is an excellent anime that deserves more attention. It's not your typical anime, focusing on one single plot and showing no interest in needlessly continuing anything later on. The animation style is nothing to really write home about; it's very standard, but efficient. What carries this anime is the story/plot. Erased is the story of a brave young man who is placed in very uniquely distressing circumstances, forcing him to solve a very challenging mystery. It's essentially a whodunit story.

This season was adorable. I'm not sure why I see so many haters in the reviews. Perhaps people forget enjoying anime isn't just a "love or hate" binary. Sometimes you can find a show just kind of good, or okay. I think season 4 of MHA is pretty good. The story is progressing, slowly but surely, and the action is always really epic and intense. We are introduced to new characters, and old characters get new life by having the spotlight put on them. If you're a fan of My Hero Academia in general, this season is pretty good.

I was actually surprised with how disappointed I was with this particular anime. Gundam is a series that is one of my al-time favorites, even though I am a recent fan. I have been watching just about everything Gundam related I could, so naturally, this one was on the list. I enjoyed the first season, but that's because I enjoy Gundam in general, and I buckled myself in for the ride of season 2. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy that ride. I don't think this anime is bad, but it totally forgets to try to be good.

The Witch from Mercury certainly isn't the best anime I've ever seen, but it does a good job at setting up it's second season, and it's beautiful Gundam animations are something to behold. It may end in a way some may find underwhelming, but it assures a second season, which I think heavily entices you to continue watching. I know I'm going to! I think the sacrifices this season makes for setting up season 2 makes this one struggle to reach peak Gundam. It's no Iron-Blooded Orphans, but it's got similar charm.

My Hero Academia's third season is pretty fun. If you split this into two halves, the first half is way more powerful than the second half. In fact, I'm starting to realize that this show will porbably focus hard on the academic nature of being a hero rather than showing too many heroic feats, which is probably fine. I'm still here for it.
When this show gets awesome, it gets really awesome, but wouldn't it be awesome if it was always awesome? The first half of this season is really cool, showing us really stressful stakes and characters reaching their peak. The second half of the ...

When Darling in the FranXX was first released and was riding the wave of its initial popularity, I watched it, but I don't think I finished it. If I did, I don't remember. I tried to watch it again, and it was kind of rough. I think it's in the green for me, as in, it passes the test, but just barely. At its best, Darling in the FranXX is very emotional and powerful, but you don't understand why. At its worst, Darling in the FranXX can be very boring.
