This review is a little biased because I just enjoyed the anime so much. Realistically this isn't a perfect 10 out of 10 but for me it was. When I watched the first episode I could not stop watching, and then I watched the 2005 remake/continuation. I enjoyed this so much I have I bought the dvd set and rewatch it quite often.
