- Both are made by Madhouse and have protagonists who are talented but are still in the process of learning more in order to achieve their goal. - In Chihayafuru, Chihaya wants to become the best player or the Queen; In Daiya, Sawamura (main boy) wants to become the main pitcher or the ace of his team. - In both cases, they start off already somewhat strong. Chihaya has keen senses and good reflexes; Sawamura has an interesting pitch. But they're both learning how to become better to get to where they want to be. - Both main characters are very dedicated to their respective sport and work hard. - Both shows progressively show hardships and failures, and the protagonists learn because of their constant losses.
