his is the third season of the Higurashi saga. In order to watch this, you don't need to go over all of the OVAs and the movie that were released between season 2 and this one. But I highly recommend to watch the first two seasons first.
Now, this season goes back to the horror genre, and we separate from the masterful Thriller aspects from season 2. We are back again to gore and blood. Some of the violent scenes are so graphic than even the uncensored version has some censorship using black squares.

There is little that I can say about this story, everything happens really fast. Ikki and Stella relationship is really good and the action scenes hold to be good enough. Is a light-hearted action-romantic story that is only hurt by a promising plot that is never fully developed. In this season we get three arcs, the remaining "Answer Arc" that we did not got in the first season and two other Answer Arcs that will unveil the rest of the mysteries left in the 1st season. This title has transitioned into a Thriller, leaving behind most of the blood and gore from the first season. Don't get me wrong, there are still frightening and intense scenes, but now they are used to add to the Suspense, it is not as graphic as before.

This is one of them Mecha titles from recent years that were a complete disappointment, is not even original as it plays and feels so much to Infinite Stratos that seems a remake of that fiasco... with the exact same issues. This story is divided in two parts, the first one comes hard on nudity, silly jokes and other ecchi elements. In the second part the Supernatural takes place leaving the ecchi elements in the background, and here is where this title really shines.
