Carnival Phantasm - THE GREATEST THING EVER CREATED BY THE HUMAN RACE
Story- This don't need no story, its basically a whole bunch of comedic skits, so the presence of story is neither needed nor wanted
Art - It is an ONA so art isn't really gonna be that good considering the budget ONA's get, but the use of simplistic art favors the humor, in fact it wouldn't have been as good if the art was high budget.
Sound - Best Opening ever made, in all of creation.
Characters - All the Type Moon Characters, made brilliantly hilarious. Best Type Moon Fan service ever
Enjoyment - This represents that maximum
...
amount of enjoyment a human being can ever have.
Overall - You need to have watched and be familiar with the other Type Moon Anime: Fate, Tsukihime. But if you liked those.... this will be a better present then anything anyone has given you...... Even a car.
If you haven't watched it, and you've seen other type moon anime, watch it now. It is pretty much the best comedy you can get.

Sailor Moon is about Tsukino Usagi who is a 14-year-old girl in junior high. She's ditzy, whiny, and a crybaby. She often flunks her tests, and she is always scolded by her family. However after a bad day, Usagi is surprised to encounter a black cat that can talk! The cat, Luna, grants Usagi the power to transform into Sailor Moon, a fighter who is to save the world against the Dark Kingdom and its evil ruler, Queen Beryl.
Of course, Usagi can't do it alone, and there are others who will help her on the way...
The setting sounds simple enough, and really it is. It
...
starts off with just Sailor Moon as the main character, and at this point the anime seems, o.k. Usagi is entertaining, however in some aspects could be seen as annoying, like her voice, or the fact she cries ALLLL the time. However the series does a great job at eventually making these annoyances being part of her character and part of why u could love her sooo much.
The story then does continue with even more girls becoming sailor soldiers along with Usagi, there will be Ami, Sailor Mercury, Rei, Sailor Mars, Makoto, sailor Jupiter and finally Minako, sailor Venus. As more and more of these girls are introduced the series becomes better and better. All the characters are fun and interesting, and with so much time watching them, you cant help but to fall in love with their personalities. Its also great when there personalities collide, for instance Rei and Usagi are always fighting each other in a way that brings a smile to yourself, as there always making fun of each other, yet you know there great friends. Along with these characters, there our other like Luna, the talking and Tuxedo Mask, a mysterious man, which you cant help but like also.
The art style of the anime is very old, however for its time its still really damn good, the artstyle is simple, but its quite different in its great transformation animations and comedic animated parts. The animation, although old, is still something you can look at in satisfaction.
The soundtrack of the anime yet again old, however does fit quite well with the series, it successfully bring emotion to scenes, as well as a sense of fun, badassery and seriousness. Yet again although old,its still something you can admire when listening to.
Did have things wrong with it, well yes, as said there are somethings that can get quite annoying, for example Usagis damn laugh, however the annoyances do become something you simply accept and love. Also the fact that a bunch of episodes can be seen as fillers, and not progress really anything. Also the fact that some romances do come on pretty fast and strong, too fast if you ask me.
However, I haven’t mentioned anything really too special, I mean the animes old, its visuals and audio are satisfactory but for its age stupendous. Its character are really what make this anime shine with all of them being enjoyable. But the biggest thing I have to say, is that EVERY SINGLE EPISODE WAS ENJOYABLE AS HELL, not once was I bored, although there were they still greatly grabbed attention, this anime although not my favourite, I would say is the most ENJOYABLE anime ive seen. The characters and story just made every episode a treat to watch, with some hilarious, some cool, some emotional, and some important. If you watch this anime, and if you can get past its age, you WILL have a great time. A warning though I watched the Japanese dub, at first I watched it in English, in fact 20 episodes in English, and really, IT IS THE WORST ENGLISH DUB EVER, OF ALL TIME. The voice acting in English is just terrible, and not only that nearly all there lines are changed, changing some entire story aspects, and COMPLETELY RUINING CHARACTER LIKE REI, also it cut SOOO much content in the English version, there were about 5 or so episodes completely cut maybe hours of cut content. So I IMPLORE YOU WITH ALL WILL, WATCH THE JAPANESE VERSION, the ENGLISH IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE AND RUINS THE SERIES.
In any case I give Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon the first season a 9/10, for its complete and utter enjoyment. And I absolutely cannot wait for the next season, Sailor Moon R, ill be sure to do a review of that when I finish it.

When I think of the Magical Girl genre in Anime I think of an innocent light-hearted story about a bunch of young girls using magical powers to fight evil, and that would be as deep as it would go. That's exactly what I thought when I was going into the magical girl Anime 'Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica' but could I have been proven anymore wrong. This anime not only surprised me, but it heavily touched me emotionally, and it takes a lot to do that.
The animes setting revolves around Magical Girls, who form a contract with this white mysterious creature named Kyubey, where they can ask
...
for any wish imaginable in return for carrying the duties of being a Magical Girl. A Magical Girls job is to hunt down and kill witches, which are formed from as Kyubey put it "As Magic Girls are born from wishes, witches are born from curses." If they were not stopped these witches would otherwise continue to kill and torment innocent people, in the forms of accidents, suicides and other horrible outcomes, since normal people cannot see them, people are none the wiser to their existence. When they are near a witch, the magical girls go into a sick and twisted alternate world called a ‘labyrinth’ made by the witches, where all the animation style changes and really creeps you the hell out. Still sounds like an innocent story right, WRONG.
The story of this anime is surprisingly one of the darkest stories I’ve seen, there being twists and tragedies occurring that cannot help but make you feel sick to the stomach, and scenes that will no doubt bring a tear to your eye. The anime centres around Madoka Kaname, an eighth grader of Mitakihara middle school. One day, she had a very magical encounter along with her friend 'Sayaka Miki' where they met Kyubey and the magical girl 'Mami Tomoe' and from there they were shown the life of a Magical Girl. The story contains an unbelievable amount of sadness for a Magical Girl anime, especially the last few episodes of the series where I couldn't help but have watery eyes for most of the time.
All the characters in the anime are done extremely well, where you feel a connection with all of them as you learn of their trudged pasts and the kind of challenges they really need to go through, the exception being 'Mami Tomoe' which I felt like was a character that didn't really get explored much, and was never really able to connect with the viewers.
The art style of the anime was absolutely brilliant, when in the normal world the art style is normal, with some high quality visuals for the scenery, great lighting, and great atmosphere. The character designs were top notch, both when they were normal and as magical girls. However when they enter the ‘labyrinths’ the animation style changes into a unique and crazy style each time. This not only makes the labyrinths seem crazier, but scarier as well, the kind of things you see seem like they came right out of someone’s worst nightmares. Each time it’s slightly different and brings a whole unique feeling to the anime as a whole; as it affects the viewer’s feel of the entire setting of the anime.
The sound was an absolute piece of gold, not only was it captivating but it successfully aided the scenes so much more, that it brought entire feelings of emotions with them, from joy to pure sadness. The sound effects used in the anime were outstanding, from the simple sounds of the ambience and such, to the awesome sounds of the magic and fighting sounds that occur, the sound effects are done supremely well.
The only negative I feel this anime had was how it didn’t explore into 'Mami Tomoes’ character, however this doesn’t negatively impact the anime for reasons that I shall not spoil for you. Another thing that some people might find a negative is the fact that from the outside the anime is a giant lie, from the cute and happy intro to the seemingly happy setting in the start, the anime can truly fool those expecting and wanting a happy and joyful anime, because when in the middle of it, this is absolutely not the case.
In the end the series has one of the most emotionally sad yet happy endings I’ve seen, it truly nails the ability to make me cry every time I see it, and every time I Think about it. However the anime did get a sequel movie, which is really a whole other thing to review, but I will say that the ending for the movie truly destroyed my very soul in a way I wouldn’t think possible, it has THE most heart shattering ending I have seen.
Overall the anime was an enormous surprise to me; easily being one I can call a Masterpiece in all ways without the look of such quality on the surface. I personally believe every single person should watch this anime. Whether or not you like Magical Girl animes, this one will be an anime to never forget. A true emotional and heart wrenching experience. 10/10

So recently I decided to watch the anime 'Selector Infected WIXOSS', from the outside it looks like a simple anime about girls playing a card game, however the actual anime is surprisingly a whole lot deeper and darker.
The animes setting revolves around the card game WIXOSS, the card game itself is pretty wierd and not exactly easy to understand, however surprisingly the animes center focus isn't about the card game, its about the characters playing the game and about there wishes. Now the story has it where there are people who are selected 'selectors' who are able to go through battles in this card game
...
to achieve there wish. These selectors find that they have a card that is essentially alive and is able to talk to them. Only selectors can see or hear them, these selectors battle each other in what seems to be a alternate dimensional world just for these battles, and basically battle each other with there LRIG, which is the card that seems to be alive. The story focuses on one specific character Ruko Kominato who is the latest girl to find an LRIG card. She names her card Tama, and without any further explanation is thrown into her life as a Selector.
The story does go into a darker path, with twists and tragedies happening to beloved characters which can only make you go 'Daaaaaamn', the story and setting I find are quite unique in this anime and make it quite enjoyable just to see how it alls plays out.
All the characters in the series are done quiet well also, as they all seem to have a complicated life that are all connected with there wishes, which you cannot help but feel sympathy for.
The art style of the anime isn't as unique, however it is on par with other animes being produced recently, with some exceptions like in the card battles where the art style turns into something that can only be described as pretty.
The sound had no problems with the sound effects and voice acting being superb, the intro song chosen for the anime "killy killy JOKER" by Kanon Wakeshima, was a great choice for the anime, being one that I would personally not ever skip, it gives a true felling of what is to come from the anime, aw well as being catchy.
However there were some negatives, being that the card games rules aren't exactly clear to the viewers, and really there wasn't a great majority of different battles to be seen, also I feel like the story may have been a bit rushed, and could have been a bit better with a few more episodes.
At the end, the series did end in a way that made me just want more, thankfully there will be a second season 'Infected Spread WIXOSS' which I honestly cannot wait for in order to see what happens.
Overall the anime was quiet surprisingly enjoyable, and I would recommend everyone to give it a try, even if you're not a fan of animes based on card games, the show is done in a way that anyone can enjoy it.
