Everything felt too convenient and I didn't mind that, but the ending was particularly so, almost like an incomplete movie. The buildup was fine, and the themes involved were pretty interesting. I mean, who doesn't love a movie about syndicate crimelords? However, the ending just felt like everything got resolved with no explanation and barely any hints whatsoever apart from appearances of characters from the first season. Usually there's this big reveal, but it was absent in this, very uncharacteristic.

Comedy was decent. Some parts of the movie were funny, at least for me. Seeing them squeal at getting a feet massage was very ... relatable. Or stupid scenes like his shorts ripping at his ass crack. Somehow amusing.

Visuals are just as great as the TV series. Beautifully captures the local culture and various cities. Colour palette is very pretty. Not too dynamic, mostly panning shots. Key animation more than makes up for this, decently smooth. Background art is wonderful. CGI is not the best, but is honestly pretty good. The average anime watcher probably won't notice the difference. They tried to add as much visual detail as they can in the scenes, and you can tell they have put in alot of effort.

Don't have much to say about the soundtrack, pretty consistent with what you hear in the TV series.

Overall enjoyable, but most of it came from the visuals.

It has become increasingly apparent how poorly written the characters are, even for a parody. At least , the entire Shadow Garden. An entourage of women with fat tits and a bland personality , which isn't a problem until they take more than half the screentime. Moreover , an entire waterpark episode solely for fanservice, and without the only character that makes this show watchable. John Smith arc could have also been better without the Delta fanservice. Come on , I like fat tits. But its pointlessness is detracting from the overall quality.

Comedy did not hit as hard as season 1. Too many repeated gags ... and a few things ruined the experience. The biggest issue for me is the fact that Cid's lobotomized best friends were saved , should have just killed them off. It would be good if their stupidity was amusing, but most of it was irritating. Shadow repeating the same line was funny until about the 10th time , made me want to rip my eyeballs out. Still many good jokes. Voice acting performances for Cid are hilarious. Love that he had two voice actors just for better executed lines. Also bunch of subtle jokes that will make you go, "I see what you did there". But the only solid entertainment value I got was from people reacting to this , praising it for being a parody , then watching the jokes being misinterpreted or fly over their head.

Action was alright , season 1 did it better though.

Would have given it a 5/10 but the last episode was pretty good , sold it for me. Got me interested in the sequel.

This show was adapted from the work of someone whos the chinese equivalent of a Wattpad story author. They toned it down quite a bit but the BL undertones still felt uncomfortable since they're meant to be martial brothers , but thats just me.

The plot was seemingly simple but actually incredibly complex when coupled with subtle switches in timelines , the barely noticable changes in appearance don't help many to notice the switches either.

Pacing is very fucked. There was one comment I read about the pacing that was fucking hilarious how accurate it was.

"Yo want to hear about this badass demonic sorcerer ... who is betrayed, then reincarnated back years later and will seek his revenge? Before we tell you about that, let me tell you the story of how he wound up betrayed in his previous life! But, before I tell you that let me tell you about how he became a demonic cultivator! But, before that let me tell you about the socio-political environment which underpinned the prevailing culture from which he eventually became a demonic cultivator! What's next??? we learn about the agrarian civilization's reliance on bountiful crops which led to the first cultivator and his techniques as a way of stabilizing yields and growing the economy? Can't fuckin wait."

As you can see , the series tries its best to incorporate as much detail into it , too much even. And if you didn't catch them, some episodes in the future wouldn't make sense. Missing out key details (which most wouldn't be able to catch unless they paused and analysed) will cause you to wonder how the show is rated so high. Thank god I speak the language , reading the subs must be hell. If you somehow get through all that , the story is pretty emotionally captivating. Visuals are beautiful apart from the occasional out of place CGI or motion blur. Both the original and japanese dub were great , though I felt the original Chinese version was way better during emotional scenes. Heard the separation from the native chinese from the boonies and the prestigious martial arts sects. Moreover, voice performances are spectacular , almost too real in the emotional scenes , really felt like I actually witnessed a real person go through a tragedy.

If someone asked me , "is One Piece good?" I would not be able to give them an answer. The time I've invested into this series is absurd. And if I were to say "Yes , OP is good" , it might be cope to not feel like I've wasted my life. But I find myself unable to say no because there were moments where I also felt , "Hey , this might be the best show of all time."

Eiichiro Oda masterfully weaves mature themes like moral pluralism, corruption, anarchy, war, and slavery into the narrative, making them accessible even to VERY YOUNG audiences. ... Regardless whether they could be bullshit connections or not, the series boasts an unparalleled depth of worldbuilding and details hint at events and developments that may be hundreds of episodes in the future. Given the sheer volume of episodes , this level of intricacy should be expected.

There is just one problem. Episodes have had frequent issues with pacing. This is not a problem when you've just started One Piece or are in the process of binging the show. When you catch up , thats when you begin the edging process. I caught up at episode 787 , where I had to begin painfully waiting for the Whole Cake Arc to air one episode at a time with little plot progression. I was 12. I had to wait 2 or 3 years for that to complete. Same thing for Wano. Waiting week after week for countless dragged out scenes. It constantly caused me to doubt the overall quality. Then every so often sprinkled in between, there are masterfully done moments which reignite that passion for One Piece, peaks of enjoyment that have never been touched by any other series I've watched, only to realise yet again that I'll need to wait a week for the next episode which might be the same shit they've been feeding me straight from a donkey's anus or it might be the nectar of the gods pouring out of Aphrodite's breasts.

But the recent episodes have truly taken a step towards cinematic excellence, which has made the slower moments more enjoyable. Greater animation, so many details from previous worldbuilding coming into play, and the deeper plots slowly being unveiled. It somehow still feels like the show is reaching new heights step by step, and I can only pray this will continue.

This show doesn't have a plot warranting it being a MASTERPIECE but what I will say is that it does all the little details right up to the penultimate point of perfection for the stereotypical fantasy world. I could nitpick the scenes but I haven't found something I didn't like. Felt that the directing was very consistent, immaculately delivering the messages. The author's storytelling is quite repetitive, often relying on parallels, but so far everything follows the Chekhov's gun principle, so everything felt significant to the story and was beyond beautiful. Combined with a decently epic soundtrack and consistently great animation? This just ... screams fantasy.

The first few episodes led me to believe this show was going to be your typical sob story that has been done time and time again like Maquia or To Your Eternity , where the functionally immortal being learns how to live and the viewers are left depressed , which would have been fine but not something I would be as interested in as compared to how the show is right now. The actual show is a magic realism , which incorporates its own customs and religion. Which is why I love , love , love the worldbuilding. Just little frames of frieren's travels really add to the fantasy aspect. This is also makes for fantastic characters. The fact that the writer did not delve into the , all humanoid species only differ in appearance cliche and actually have different values?? Made the antagonists and the action scenes so much better. In this era where most villains are written to be sympathetic and compelling , demons are purposefully written to be ACTUALLY UNLIKABLE because of their values. HOLY SHIT, pop the champagne. Interactions between the main cast are cute, and the flashbacks to the original party's journey are very wholesome. Dialogue is also outstanding, conversations are meaningful and few words say alot.

Really love and praise the attention to detail , it is undoubtedly masterful. Some of the more obvious details like the double meaning title , the names of the characters, the character designs are cool and well done. But I fell in love with the subtle little details which were very impressive. Little things like the frame of Stark remembering his brother when seeing the sword in the stone , because that was who he thought could have pulled it out. The briefly noticable designs of the mirrored lotus jewellery , where Frieren's is a budding lotus showing that Himmel's love will never fully come to fruition , and Fern's is in full bloom. So many more that just add to the overall quality. Almost everything was thought through carefully , it looks unquestionably flawless.

This is for both parts of 86. War with huge robots and racism , an anime classic. Only realised that it was a sob story a few episodes in of Season 1 , but because it used very good and interesting ideas at the start, confused me into thinking it was trying to be something more meaningful. The ideas used were good but just barely touched upon, mostly used to create a convincing world. Emotional scenes had some breathtaking directing reminiscent of a music video—movement synchronous to the music, symbolism to convey emotion, the timing when the music comes in. This is probably the only ... reason why I'm giving it a high score , because it was a good visual experiece. Would have given it a 9 if the action had better CGI. A 10 if it had aforementioned plus decent antagonists.

86 was essentially Shinei and Lena. Every development revolved around these two. Lena didn't make sense as a character at the start , felt like a SJW from Twitter was inserted into the show. Preaching ethics to others like a social media movement #FreeThe86. Her backstory later justifies this , but because shes already a decent person , I can't help but feel robbed of a great character arc of realising racism is bad after being raised in institutional racism. Shinei's behavior is pretty realistic given what he's gone through, and so are many other characters of this show. Liked how they portrayed his mental state later on as well. But because I am not a teenage girl, and that he doesn't really evolve much from the broody boy archetype, personally wasn't a very captivating protagonist. Like I mentioned, other characters have their moments , but ultimately just tools for Shinei and Lena's development and to build empathy.

This show feels like its trying to be too many things , causing it to remain generic. If you want your shounen to be entertaining without a crazy well written story , you need to go the JJK and Demon Slayer route. You need high production. The problem is the production had the budget of an indie film from the boonies. 7 Deadly Frames type of budget.

For all the praise it got for being "well animated." It was TREMENDOUSLY disappointing. Bad CGI dragons. Frozen background characters. Boring action sequences. Moreover , most of the frames have barely any movement in them. The illusion of ... it being well animated comes from decent quality art , and most of the animation is just frames panning from side to side. Also , sound track wasn't special , neither were the sound effects.

Right off the bat , hate the protagonist. Cliche character "not strong enough to protect the ones I love." Inorganic interactions between characters , dialogue that almost seem AI generated. Backstory is so average. Various jokes didn't land at all. Antagonists are terrible , feels like they are trying to copy the demon slayer demon hierarchy but replace it with humanoid dragons. That would have been fine if they managed to convince the viewer that the villains are scary or feel powerful, give the battles some sort of stake for character development or plot progression. Nope , no stakes at all. Why? the pity me personality protagonist solves his powerlessness through his future self time travelling back to give himself powers. Terrible writing.

Edgerunners delivers an emotional story that captures the essence of Night City. A dystopian capitalist future where the rich and powerful reign even more supreme.

The anime's depiction of Cyberpunk's Night City is nothing short of outstanding. The attention to detail and atmospheric world-building create a captivating backdrop for the characters' struggles. The neon-lit streets, gritty environments, and technological advancements all contribute to the sense of a city on the brink of collapse.

While the story is undeniably powerful, the fast pacing, although contributing to the relentless nature of the cyberpunk world, leaves room for a deeper emotional attachment to the characters. However, it's worth considering ... that this deliberate pacing choice might be a philosophical reflection of the characters' lives, never allowing them a moment of respite, thus mirroring the viewer's experience.

Despite this , it still manages to evoke a hopeless despair and explore thought-provoking themes. The tragedy that unfolds throughout the narrative truly does tug at the heartstrings.

Maquia is an exceptional film that has left a profound impact on me. This review will henceforth be extremely biased as I enjoyed it so much I've rewatched it more than 5 times over the years.

Much like Ariel , I was not raised by my biological mother but had a mother-like figure. As such , the film was oddly relatable and left a strange sadness in me. This film is a touching and thought-provoking exploration of love, loss, and the passage of time. It covers themes of identity, sacrifice, and the transient nature of existence. Through the eyes of Maquia (a youthful, nigh-immortal ... girl), we witness her journey through the joys and hardships of motherhood, offering a fresh perspective rarely seen in anime.

Due to the context, the pacing was fast and involved many time-skips , so as to say that time in the eyes of the immortal go by very quickly. Years appear to pass by in the blink of an eye. It was meaningful but it may have messed with the storytelling.

Characters in Maquia are beautifully realized and remarkably relatable. Maquia herself is a respectable protagonist, navigating the challenges of motherhood while grappling with her own immortal nature. The supporting cast is equally well-developed, their struggles and growth add layers of depth to the narrative. These characters have been imprinted into my head long after the credits rolled, a testament to their impact.

The OST deserves special mention, as it perfectly complements the film's emotional journey. In moments of adversity , I find myself replaying these ethereal melodies and haunting compositions which evoke a powerful sense of wonder and melancholy. The sound design further helps with the immersion, creating an atmospheric backdrop that intensifies the emotional resonance of the story.

Hell's Paradise falls short of its potential, presenting itself as a generic shounen without offering anything truly exceptional. While it is disheartening to express disappointment with the writing and execution, the series truly fails to rise above mediocrity, leaving a sense of missed opportunities for greatness. The only aspect that shines is its emotionally resonant OST, OP and ED. The visuals were exceptional at the beginning,then incredibly inconsistent after , perhaps hindered by budget limitations. For e.g Sagiri's face is so inconsistent , there are times where it looks like she developed down-syndrome. Starts off strong, with incredible action sequences and a mysterious and ... eerie atmosphere on a visually captivating island brimming with otherworldly elements. However, it stumbles into the trap of excessive exposition and shifting perspectives, losing the initial intrigue and horror it had established.

Alot of the dialogue was meaningless to the story, and inconsistent with the actions of characters. For example , "Shinobi rule bla bla bla, dont confront an unknown enemy" , only for him to absolutely blitz through the island. It was good that each character has their own unique backstory, intentions and motivations. However , the show keeps redundantly reminding you of this over and over again in dialogue. One example would be Gabimaru's story , at first it appears dark and emotionally devastating , then they give you a thousand flashbacks of his wife to be reminded that he is motivated by his wife.

Ending was horrible. Didn't feel like a last-episode , it only served to raise questions about a possible genjutsu that our MC has been placed under. This is also why a bunch of hell paradise d-riders that disagree with me say the "thousand flashbacks" are important to this narrative. But this is actually false , if these unicellular organisms had one more brain cell , maybe they'd have the critical thinking to observe that pink hair kid seeing the empty "TAO" in his head means hes losing his damn mind and his wife is in fact , you won't believe this! REAL.

Theres also this feminist agenda being pushed throughout the story about Sagiri's empowerment which i could frankly care less about. If you are misogynistic and say you dont believe in Sagiri as a swordsman , Rokurota will probably kill you!

The only standout episode is the emotional eighth episode, which manages to stir some feelings. But, the impact is weakened by the lack of sufficient screentime and development for the side characters involved, preventing the scene from reaching its full potential.
